This was my 2nd time at the establishment. I tried brunch when they first opened but hadn't been back since. We had reservations at 8:30 and got there at 8:25, waited an additional 10 mins to be seated. There was no hostess to greet us upon arrival. We only came for the Halloween themed portion which is only on the patio and we weren't seated there. The chips for the guacamole and queso (luke warm) were stale and the container the jalapeños came in had a piece of hair on it. The yucca croquettes were luke warm (lacked flavor). We asked for new silverware for for the entrees and the hostess places it directly on the table. I ordered fajitas...came out with no sizzle and luke warm. I had to send it back, came out again no sizzle and just warm. The small amount of steak I received was beyond tough, dry, and had a weird texture. I was never asked for the cook on the steak. I ordered a margarita, not good either. To say I was highly disappointed and have no plans to go back. The only highlight was the server, I believe her name was Lizette so was delightful.

Came here recently on a date and had a good time. The restaurant was basically empty around 6 when we sat down, but started to fill in a little more by the time we were leaving (7:30). Nice upscale ambiance inside and they also have outdoor seating. The bartenders were very nice and checked on us just the right amount. Food was good. Loved the beef empanadas!! Yuca croquettes were perfectly cooked, brussel sprouts were alright, chicken tacos were fine. Their frozen sangria margaritas are amazingggg and strong. Overall: decent spot for happy hour/dinner, decent food but weirdly empty around dinner time on the weekdays.

I found this restaurant on Resi and decided to go here to use my American Express credit for the month. It is a beautifully decorated restaurant. Let's start there: it's good-looking on the outside, and when you come in, it's just very nicely decorated, so definitely great job. Everyone is super welcoming when you come in. They're happy to see you, which I definitely enjoyed. When I sat down to order, there were so many things on the menu that I was like, "Yeah, I need to try this," so I ended up ordering a lot of food, but it's okay, you can judge me. I got: - The shrimp appetizer: it was like this grilled shrimp in this amazing sauce with this crispy bread. Oh no, it was so good, so well-flavored, and perfectly cooked. Definitely would go back for that. - The guacamole, which was good. It came with the big tortilla chips instead of little cut tortilla chips, and that was delicious. - The eggplant. Now, I was not prepared for this eggplant to taste like this, but it was really good. The sauce, I don't know what kind of sauce that was, but it was amazing. It was just an unexpected, delightful kind of dish. - The salad, the Little Gem Salad. That one was my least favorite part of the meal. It was just kind of uneventful, and I think I would have preferred the chickpeas to not be crispy. I feel like he was missing something, like he needed some avocado, and the dressing wasn't blended super well, so it didn't really mix really well. Anyway, the flavor was there, but I just feel like the salad was my least favorite part of the meal. Everything else was really good, and I would definitely come back here.

Came for happy hour with a friend. We arrived 20 minutes before the ended and the host and server made sure we were able to put our order in. Between the two of us we ordered a frozen margarita, white sangria, beef empanadas, oysters, and chicken taco. All of our food was good and tasted very fresh. The restaurant is low lit, but also has an outdoor seating area, perfect for happy hour.

Crispy pork belly

My server Jesus was amazing he went over all the ingredients in all the dishes I was interested in as this was my first time here. Also parking is validated Drinks I tried : Mad hatters elixir- has a little spice from the Serrano but it's balanced out by the sweet from the lychee. Cheshire Tea Time- good flavor from the coconut tequila, didn't taste any of the blueberry syrup that was listed on the ingredients. Food; Gambia's Al ajillo- garlic brandy sauce tasted great. Little spice from piquin peppers. Grilled bread was a little too chared for me. But this was by far my favorite dish. Crispy pork belly- the sweet from the honey glazed pair well with the spice from the poblano aioli. Pork was a little tough Esquites- could tell it was corn actually off the Cobb. Good lime flavor I also tried the black beans a white rice which have great garlic flavor. The space was decorated beautifully with the Alicia in wonderland theme and the live fire show was an added bonus.

El toro Vegetariano

Dinner before a show at the Fox. The walk from the Fox was reasonable but definitely a small hike. About .5 miles. Reservations for 5 so the dining room was pretty empty when we came in. It started filling up over the course of the hour. Service was stellar. Cool upscale Latin vibe inside. We did a combo of tapas and entree. For tapas we had the toro guacamole, patatas bravas with harissa, black beans and calimari. All were super tasty and came out quick and hot. The entrees took quite some time to come out, a little too long. But I had the pollo al horno. The chick was delicious! The pickled vegetables were awesome and a nice acid break from the chicken and rice. Super good entree. Wife had the el toro vegetariano which she loved. Over than the entree taking. Bit too long to come out, all in all it was a great meal. Great cocktails, great service and I hear a fire show we missed at 7:30.

My gf & I came here for their cute Valentine's Day pop up. Parking is validated & there's information on their website on how to find it. Their pork belly was delectable, guac well seasoned, & I wanted to try their Yucca fries but they were out. I had the Still Got the Blues (for You) & Love from Grenada, which tasted like Robitussin on ice lol but my friend's drink was really good! I'm not really a smokey drink person, but I wish I would've gone with that one instead. They also had a delicious coconut tres leches cake with a guava sauce on the side - YUM. The decor was cute & festive. The fire show was a nice touch. My only qualm & reason why I knocked a star off is because they sat us in the corner by the door & it was COLD. I wanted to move, but my gf said it was fine. Later on, she confessed that she was freezing. Our server was really nice & helpful though, so I feel like it wouldn't have been an issue if we asked to move. I'd recommend that they insulate the bottom of the door somehow to keep the cold out.

Went here on a cinco de mayo bar crawl and it was great! The tacos and empanadas were amazing. If I had to pick one I'd say the empanadas are a bit better. They also have outdoor seating with a bar in the exterior. The drinks were amazing and only $5 on cinco de mayo. Our waiter was super nice too!

Mussels verde

Came here while working in midtown Atlanta for a pop up event. This is located across the street from the Midtown Marta station.- pics of lobby I ordered an order of the mussels verde without pork. I didn't know what to expect with the green sauce it came in. But it was so flavorful and filling. Good size portion where i shared with my friend. It came with bread slices and we asked for a lemon. Our waiter was great and knowledgeable! I forgot his name but he has amazing black hair and mustache and tattoos! He said he works most days :-)

Toro Breakfast Burrito

First let me say our waitress Juliana was FANTASTIC. She was double sat with a very large party of 8, another party with 5 and a rambunctious kiddo (cute as pie), as well as my party of 3. That is just upon arrival the area filled up throughout our time there. She did exceptionally well. We know she was stressing- she gets a gold . Ok. Now onto what you came here for. Food and place review!! It won't be long because it was excellent!!! Food was delicious- everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Just look at the pictures. The tapas are tasty and a great collaboration of flavors. I will return- great date night spot or for a girls/guys night out!!! Not to mention the excellent decor!!

Tahnita C.

If you're looking for a Halloween cocktails & decor this is a good option for you. FOOD: Slightly pricey for what I would call Tex-mex but, more seafood than anything. SERVICE: Staff was nice & very professionally attentive. AMBIANCE: It's laid back yet sexy restaurant. Great for a date nite, game nite due to the bar tv or even a girls nite...they deliver! Also, Wednesday they have the fire dancing lady there after 7pm or at 8. (Double check that time though...due to seasonal time change)

Such a fun place for a date night or girls night. They always have some sort of live entertainment, dancing, fire breathing or a musician -- sometimes all 3! The food is incredible and the location is so convenient with a parking deck just to the left of the restaurant.

Pork ribs
Leyang Z.

2.5 stars to be precise. I went there again this year with my friends. We ordered four tapas and the half chicken entree. They were just ordinary. The ceviche was the best. I like the sweet potato chips whose sweetness paired well with the sour fish. The Brussels sprouts and albondigas (meatballs) were OK. The soy maple glaze of the pork rib tasted nothing but bitter, I believe that it was burnt. The chicken was Okay--just like what you get in most restaurants--but the pickled veggie on the side had a piece of stainless steel scrubber! So we were disappointed. Service was disappointing as well. When I asked about the bitterness of the ribs, our server just smiled and said nothing. What does that mean? And she did not even apologize for the chicken, even if she took it from the bill.

The covered patio is beautiful and much quieter than the rest of the restaurant. This is a fusion spot with mostly Spanish and Latin American influences. The food isn't the best you've ever had, but it's decent and the restaurant's neighborhood is cute and fun. It's a great place to hang out for the day, and Bar.bacoa is a good choice if you have 3 people or less in your party. The group size is about maximizing the value you get here. The portion sizes are small for tapas. The paella was $24 but would be hard-pressed to feed just two people. The ham and cheese empanadas were $12 and came with two empanadas. These rates aren't bad for tapas if your group is small, but any group larger than 3 is going to start losing on the value-to-price ratio. When it comes to the tacos, they're $6 each for tacos that are not new or outstanding, so I would lean on the tapas instead.

It was a rainy day and my dad and I had arrived before I started grad school at Ga Tech. Our server was an Electrical Engineering student at Tech. It was appreciated after the typical chaos of moving to a new city that he happened over here my dad and I talking and he shared he went to Tech. Over the 2 decades since, I've brought friends who live here and from outside the city to enjoy the great serving and kitchen staff. My wife and I have been many times including on the restaurant's anniversary night last fall. We are sorry to hear the landlord has decided to raise the rent and sell the property. Heather has been our server multiple times. She was our server tonight as we celebrated my wife's birthday with her parents, aunt and sister. From calamari to the desert platter and entrees in between, the food was incredible. The fried lobster tails are a must. The mouse has been my wife's favorite for years. The one note is Jacob the General Manager needs to learn to trust his servers. At the beginning of the meal I let Heather know despite being a party of 7 to just bring the check to me and I'll settle up with the other guests via Venmo. And, at as we were finishing dessert, Heather came by letting me know the next party for our table was had arrived and could she bring our check. I said yes. While Heather was getting our check ($490 Food & $600+ after tip) the Manager came by telling us we needed to finish up and have our check brought. When I asked the Manager to not make this an unpleasant experience and that coming by after Heather had just communicated the situation and I had agreed she told me I should share this feedback with the General Manager. She, Jacob (GM), and I stood on the front patio where I explained what I'm sharing now: Trust your Servers. He said they were front facing and so the management likes to meet the guests. Having your Manager tell us we need to get our check and leave is not the way to meet your guests. Chef Jack and his wife (the owners) are hospitable and trust and appreciate their staff. Jacob having his Manager micromanage the servers management of tables is nowhere close the focus on service the owners have had for 26 years. I hope that Jacob and the Manager take this as a learning moment that if you hire talented people your trust talented people to bring their talents to their job. Sure it was busy. But, that's why Chef Jack hired the staff he hired. Jacob the GM needs to increase the communication with his talented team instead of using the excuse of being front facing to ever overstep their bounds on the relationship his servers have built with his guests. Heather introduced herself when we sat down. Jacob did not - nor should he have. Heather did a phenomenal job making us feel welcome, have food and drink we enjoyed, and even recognizing my wife's birthday with her favorite desert. And when the time came she handled coordinating bringing the bill and having us free the table so a new group could enjoy an evening at Agave. Jacob and the Manager need to trust their staff more. Micro-management is never a good look for your staff's morale or your guests' impressions. Please go see them for Jan 31st 2026 when they close. The servers are all wonderful as are the owners. And the food is like nothing else in Atlanta. The management simply needs to trust the talented staff from front to back of house with whom they get to work. If they're ever in doubt if a server is either providing the level of service they expect or turning tables at the rate needed to keep pace with reservations then talk to the server. The server needs to own their tables. Management should truly be of service to their staff - and you can only do that with trust and communication. Customers should never know management had a single question if the sever was doing what's needed. Because it's a bad look to come by twice about being the check. Especially when the 2nd time is in between the 1st ask if they could and the server bring the check. Of note, I already had my credit card out so that I could hand it to Heather as soon as she returned with the check. And in front of the manager, I handed Heather my credit card. Everything else was great. But, why rush guests?
