Okay, when you willingly make the drive from Fullerton to Burbank for an almond croissant, that should tell you everything you need to know. My son found Altadena Bakery during one of his random college-area adventures while seeing it on social media and told me we HAD to go. I figured, sure, it's a bakery. How serious could this be? Apparently very serious. First of all, walking in and seeing that pastry case is dangerous. Everything is absolutely beautiful, the fruit-shaped desserts almost look too perfect to eat. Almost. We grabbed several because obviously self-control had already left the building. But the almond croissant? THAT is the reason for the drive for me. Flaky, buttery, perfectly crisp on the outside, soft inside, and filled with just the right amount of almond. No dry, sad croissant nonsense happening here. It was worth every mile from Fullerton to Burbank. Everything we tried was delicious, fresh, and almost ridiculously pretty. My kid definitely gets credit for finding this one. Altadena has officially become one of those places where, if we're anywhere remotely nearby, we're stopping. And by "remotely nearby," apparently I mean 40 miles away.

Had to see what the hype was about... Street parking was easy. The line was a little confusing. I grabbed a number then later discovered they were using them so I stood in line. It wasn't horrible, maybe 10 -15 minutes. I purchased a small cake and a cute dessert that resembled a strawberry. Both were like artwork. The cake was tasty, but a little dry. The strawberry dessert was lite and delicious. Service was super friendly and helpful. I will have to return to try more of the desserts that resemble fruit.

There are not many pastry store on Gleanoks blvd on Burbank city and this one of the good ones. They have variety of pasties, very colorful and tasty but sweet. We purchased variety of cheesecakes, birdmilk, caramel pastry. Cheesecakes are ok but not the best the rest was good but sweet. Busy store but staff were helpful and taking care of customers atthe time. Sittings are available on sidewalk.

This bakery is addictive!! Once you go, you will definitely go back. Their mousse filled cakes are divine. I've tried the green apple and lemon. Also I've had their Dubai cake. Not as chocolaty as the bar but still good! Service is very helpful. They want to get your order to keep the lines moving. I admit, it's easy to just look with amazement at the pastry counter LOL. The inside has a few tables alongside the windows but everyone mostly sits outside or get things to go. Next time we go, will definitely try their pizza.

2nd visit and really love this place. Today I got the vanillabean pastry so yummy. This place is way better than the other tik tok famous k town place. Prices $10 to $15. Today got parking in front. Plan to return to try even more. Mushroom still a favorite.

I think I'm missing something here. I know they're known for their fruit desserts, but it's not new to me so I passed up on those. I had a slice of their honey cake and a pistachio croissant and I wasn't impressed. The honey cake was okay; it's on the drier side. The croissant had pistachio filling and pistachio chocolate coating which was nice. The big disappointment was the croissant itself. It wasn't flakey and didn't taste fresh at all. Such a disappointment.

I went here today, and I was really surprised how large this place was. It wasn't busy at all and the service was outstanding. The mushroom one was delicious for the fruit dessert but it was $15. I can see why because the stem was really hard and it had really good texture throughout. I seriously, wanna go back and try all the flavors. They are also beautiful. I also got a steak sandwich which was about a 20 minute wait to make but really delicious. It had like an avocado cream sauce throughout and was toasted. There was plenty of street parking. As mentioned before there is a 3% charge to use your credit card.

Fruit Mousse (Mango Madness), peach, and raspberry

Alright, I'll be the first to say it. The viral mousse desserts were not that great. The mango had purée in it and it was so little. It was an overwhelming amount of mousse in each one. I thought there was suppose to be a wafer or little cake piece to help balance the mousse. However, I was really disappointed in the lack of flavor. But the peach was probably the top one out do the mango and raspberry I also purchased. We walked in and they were super busy on a Sunday morning. Customers everywhere and there is no sitting space. Maybe 2 high top tables but it was suffocating in there. The service was okay. I believe they didn't speak much English except for the cashier and it was a struggle but we made it through. They do have other desserts that I would come back to try. But it definitely was not worth $10 per mousse dessert. If you want to try it because it's viral, then I recommend it. But I didn't really like it.

Our first time here it's been on our list and finally had a chance to go. Customer service was great young lady was super friendly and helpful We picked a lot of desserts to try they look amazing and so cute My granddaughter had a blast picking out her desserts Everything was really good very flavorful and looked like a different kinda fruit A few were a bit more pricey because of the design This is definitely a place to splurge every once in awhile We paid $84 dollars for everything we got We even ordered a pizza and it was absolutely delicious! I visited this location again recently. This is the closest bakery to where I live so I usually go there to pick up pastries. They have really good pastries and they taste good. Unfortunately, most of the items don't have prices so it gets confusing. I had to ask the employees several times for the price of the items. For service, some employees are nice and friendly. They take the time to help customers and don't make you feel rushed. But some employees are not that friendly. This bakery can get really busy on the weekends. There are long lines for ordering. This bakery has several tables outside which makes it convenient to order coffee and pastries and enjoy them by sitting outside. For parking, this bakery has a parking lot in the back and also street parking is available too. This location prefers cash transactions and cash is welcomed. They are charging 3% credit card fee for all transactions.

My family and I flew in early to Burbank airport. It was too early to check into our hotel so we decided to stop in for a quick bite to eat and try one of their viral, fruit mousse pastries. The bakery is less than 10 minute drive from the Burbank airport. It was not too busy on a Saturday around 11 AM, but there was a study flow of customers coming in to pick up their cake orders or to pick up a few pastry items. The employees were nice and knowledgeable about the bakery's offerings. There are a few small tables with chairs to sit at to quickly enjoy your delicious bakery items, pizza, sandwich, coffee and/or other offerings. We ordered the popular Armenian Pizza for lunch, the viral fruit mousse pastry (mango which is most popular) and a hazelnut eclair. Everything we had was delicious and highly recommended. Their many real-looking fruit mousse pastries are $10 each, but well worth the cost as they are delicious, not too sweet and very satisfying to cut/bite into. If you are in the Burbank area and want to try something different or some more familiar food items, you should definitely come to Alta Dena Bakery.

Love this bakery! We heard about this bakery through social media, so we decided that we had to give them a try. I ordered several types of pastries and a breakfast sandwich. I'm not super familiar with Armenian food, so I didn't know what to expect. I mistakenly assumed it would be like most bakery's. My group and I had mixed reviews on the pastries. Some were really yummy, and some were a little dry. With coffee, I'm sure they would have been great. Overall, I still really really liked the selections that I enjoyed. For my sandwich, we were very thrown off by whatever flavoring/seasoning they put in the eggs. We were not a fan. Like I said, not used to Armenian food, so maybe this was a thing, and our taste buds aren't adjusted. But... The rest of the sandwich was great. Well made, and very tasty bread! Minus the flavoring in the eggs, it was a perfect sandwich. The stag was helpful, but not the most hospitable. They handled business though, so no worries there. Overall, a good visit. If I were nearby, I'd visit again.

I always pass by and can't believe I've never been here before. Altadena was amazing. The food was delicious and they had such a huge selection of pastries and desserts. There were so many croissants, cakes, and baked goods to choose from. We ended up getting a Nutella croissant and a pistachio croissant, plus the steak and chicken sandwich. Everything was fresh and really flavorful. We also ordered the hazelnut coffee which paired perfectly with the pastries. Before leaving I made sure to grab two tiramisus to go and they were just as good as everything else. This place is seriously delicious, and honestly that's an understatement. I definitely see myself coming back again. I originally saw their pizza and Cajun fries advertised on Instagram, so I'll definitely be coming back to try those next.

BEST Pastrami sub in the world. I am a foodie I love to eat so much that I just can't walk in this pastrami sub is the best sub I've ever had in my life and I've tried 1 million subs because I love subs in this sub is just to die for. Get the pastrami sub before you die you need it. read more

Love Alta Dena bakery!! The staff here is wonderful and so friendly. Their pastries are to die for and they have a fridge full of beverages, some cheese, and yogurt. They also sell candy and some random pantry items. They now make pizza and also serve sandwiches. I bought my sister a mortadella sandwich today with a bag of chips and it was about $7 for a big sandwich with all the fixin's! They also sell coffee and other beverages which I have yet to try. Clean and spacious. Glad this is right by me! read more

This is one of the best place you can walk in any time of the day and not want to come out. Love the food, the cakes and most importantly all the wonderful employees. They are amazing and so sweet. Just moved to the area and my family is completley obsessed with this place. This is alot coming from a family who owned and operated a sandwitch shop of their own many years ago (theyre very critical). From their pastries to their pizza and sandwitches, they've tried and approved them all. I visited today for the first time during lunch and I could tell why they love this place. The food is amazing! They have a bunch of options to choose from. If youre a vegetarian I highly recommend the veggie sandwich with cheese and if youre a carnivore then take your pick. The staff is very attentive as well which is always important for me. Definatley worth a visit! read more

Wanted to really like this sandwich for a multitude of reasons: - a block from my house - prepped the tuna straight from a can BUT.... the worst bread. I took it to go so I really couldn't say anything. The bread seems like it was slightly over baked and then left out for a few days. Almost completely dry. I'd rather they tell me that they have to give a discount or not make the sandwich rather than make it at all. The ingredients are great. Service was a little slow. Should I go back? read more

I went in to buy yogurt because we were going to have BBQ at my sister house and when checking out, they had pizza samples at the register. I have tried their cakes at two events and when it was time for our event you know this was going to be the spot as I loved it. We used to order from Karinas but no more. The cakes here are just perfect, the icing, the sweetness, and decorations are not comparable. Ordering was easy, it was on time, and looked just like how I wanted it. Came across this place trying to find my manager a cake for her birthday. They have wonderful cakes and lovely pastries. The cookies were amazing! They also have this little pizza place and they have the most delicious pizza's. My husband and I shared their Ajarski Khachapuri. It was delicious! Very friendly and helpful staff. I love this place. We had three pizzas (a Greek, a pepperoni, and an egg), three pastries, two sodas, and a coffee, and it was around $40. Everything was delicious. The owners were so friendly too. It would be a good stop for us on the way to a Dodger game. read more

First time ordering food from here for an Oscar party and I was very pleased! I ordered vegetarian pizza, buffalo chicken pizza and the Armenian pizza as well as the chicken breast sandwich. I placed the Order over the phone and it was ready in exactly 30 minutes. I found my new pizza spot! Delicious, great quality and fast service. Parking available right in the front! I go here once a week. I either get the Philly cheese steak sandwich or their pizza. I haven't been let down yet. The bakery is unreal too. My favorite are the fruit tarts. Also, they have great customer service. I definitely recommend this place! read more

I can said the customer service is the worse. Couple times i tried to said its ok but every time its happen... i ordered a sandwich at 10:15 am and said i will pick up at 11:00 am. Im in rush... i got there at 11:10 because of traffic and i told the man in the kitchen so sandwich is ready he said which sandwich and i went to pastry and i asked that girl and she acted she forgot to tell the cook... the last time we ordered 24" pizza but they made 12". And he told me its ok i made one more 12... even he didnt realize they aren't same. And today they acted like nothing happen when they didn't make my sandwich. Dont go there believe me... you always going to have problem without solvin read more

I was there for the first time yesterday and one of the team members, David, could tell that I was a first timer. The restaurant is attached to a bakery and I wasn't quite sure where to order. David explained how / where to order and made a couple recommendations. I went with the Armenian pizza. It sounded interesting to try out. It was tasty! Much better than I expected and very reasonably priced and it came with a drink too. Next time I'm in the area, I'll stop on by. I''m giving them a 5 star because not only is their customer service amazing but so are their pizzas. I don't think you can get a better pizza at this price point. They also have really good sandwiches and they obviously bake their own bread. We have also used them for our daughter's birthday cake and it was delicious. Convenient place to go to pick up some pastries quick! They're open early (8am) so it's perfect. I was in and out of there. The place is very clean and nicely set up. They have A LOT of choices. I went with the preset assortment so I didn't have to spend time thinking about what to pick. I liked how it was very quick and their prices are very reasonable. Got my assorted variety for $14. read more

Was there for breakfast. The place, even though it's big, it is quite hidden. There is plenty of parking and it doesn't get very busy. Their coffee is delicious and so are their organic teas (mighty leaf). Their lahmajoon is fresh out of the oven. However their pastries are a little on the stale side, including their borek (hence the one star knocked off). I feel like they shouldn't bake so many different pastries, they should just stick to baking 3-4 types of pastries, FRESH, just like their lahmajoon and they would get alot more customers. If only their borek was as fresh as their lahmajoon I'd go there every single day to grab some with a coffee or tea. They have plenty of indoor seating and a few outdoor. They have a good selection of your basic groceries, such as milk, etc...good quality juices. The customer service is excellent, the owner is very friendly, that alone makes you want to come back. Also, they don't have creamer for your coffe :-( so bring your own creamer! read more

I've been waiting months now to go into this place because it looks so oddly understocked through the windows. Today I needed creamer for coffee. Something that I normally rely on 7-11 to provide. This time I decided to give Alta Dena Express a try because I always associated the brand with dairy. My mistake! Note to owners...if you are going to be a neighborhood grocery store, have some groceries in the joint. Otherwise call it what it is...a bakery. Very disappointing. Won't return until the shelves appear stocked from the windows. read more

This is by far the best delicious bakery and the girls work very hard with great customer service. My favorite is there shish kabob sandwich and the chocolate cake is a must have. Unlike other bakeries they are very friendly and they have the best pricing. If you want fresh bakery with a great service this is the place to be. read more

I've worked at pizza parlors. I've been to NY a few times for pizza. I am a pizza snob and connoisseur. Alta Dena Bakery made one of the top three pizzas I have EVER had in my life. Seriously. THAT was an absolutely memorable pie. What's in the dough?? I don't know but it was PERFECT. Really. I can't stress enough how the taste and texture were 100% on point. And to pile on the toppings as much as you want for only $10??? Unreal. Even for as much as I piled on, everything cooked through and nothing got soggy. The true test came the next day: the cold factor. The crust stayed firm like a cracker but without being crunchy or mealy. I cannot speak highly enough about this gem of a pizza in Burbank. On top of that, the service was VERY amicable. I can't wait to go back! read more

They have the absolute best $20 = 2 pizza + 2 soda deal in LA right now. Any topping build your own, even double cheese no extra charge! i got one cheese, and one with sausage onion garlic olive mushroom basil, and met some friends at Brace for an impromptu picnic and it was perfect. They had paper plates, etc available and I was a hero, thanks my friends at Alta Dena Pizza Bakery!! Oh, the bakery side has the best deal on bulk coffee, too. Best quality, (they grind to order but you have to notify them if its for drip or they make it into Turkish powder) coffee at best price I've found in LA. read more

This is an Armenian bakery/sandwich place. The girl working there was an Armenian young girl with brownish hair. I asked her if she can make me a blended coffee . She didn't know how to make a blended coffee iced coffee. She told me what is that and she had to call somebody to ask them how to make it. I don't know if she was new or just didn't understand English . I ordered the coffee blended with caramel favor and with seven mini pastries . My coffee look okay but tasted like water the small cup cost 3 something . So I drunk half of it . There cannoli was perfect . They had a nice dinning place to eat . read more

I've been a client of this place for over one years and half . They had great deserts but today I spend over $34 and when I got home the puffs , tiramisu and the cannoli were very old , dry and disgusting . I came back to show the quality and the product but the owner was more busy to argue with. Disappointing the way they treated me. I won't come over to spent my money in this place . read more

I finally got to try this place after a few years of seeing it open. The staff is friendly and professional. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo Pizza and it was amazing. They put so many toppings I ate about half the pizza and I was full. I also ordered their Nutella pizza which was also amazing. They have plenty of toppings to choose from if you want to make your own custom pizza. Their cooler is filled with different beverages. Plenty of parking in the back. Since I live close by I will be visiting more often. Will definitely try something from their pastry as well. read more

I love this place. Their egg pizza (which I can never remember the real name of) is the best I have ever tasted. And I love their dessert pizza, not too sweet and tons of fruit. Almost like a fruit tart. The pizza guy making the pizzas is cute and super nice. We have also gotten cakes here for birthdays and less than Porto's and really good. Also not as insane. read more
