Okay, so this is going to be a long, detailed account of a review. Because this was a multi-occasion encounter & therefore, there are multiple interactions which I need to state in order to be fair about the review I'm leaving. I placed an order for two pizzas which my boyfriend picked up. There were no issues with that. In fact, the pizza looked great in all honesty. My family of 3 are avid pizza lovers, so if we like a pizza, we will continue to order it over & over & be lifelong customers. I go through phases, & I will eat at one place until I miss another type of food. Minded, we don't eat out everyday, but perhaps once a week, every week-with the exception of when we find a good Mexican restaurant or Italian restaurant & we will go there on the weekly basis. (And then we alternate, but admittedly, we eat a lot of food. ) I also have a degree in restaurant management, so I know how to talk to customers. I know that when a customer leaves upset, that's never a good thing. They should always leave happy. When you run a restaurant, you should touch every table, ensuring your guests' happiness. Should a customer leave upset, they will never come back & tell all their friends about the horrible experience. You should never have an unhappy customer, regardless of how great you feel your food is. It's all relative. Everyone's taste is different. However, this behavior, well, it's repulsive.The pizza was quite expensive, (Over $50.00 for 2 pizzas, but they were "XL") and when my BF brought them home, they LOOKED good. I don't think they were stingy on the amount of ingredients, and we paid for/ordered both pizzas with a thick crust. Because I'm trying to be as fair as possible, I am mentioning all the possible "pro's" I can so it isn't a one-sided review. and unlike many places who call a pizza "thick crust" when it's really just "regular pizza", the pizza here was actually decently thick. So VISUALLY, it looked acceptable, but TASTE wise, well, that's a whole other story. And it gets worse after this, I swear. My boyfriend is the kind of man who will eat just about anything. I have accidentally burnt his toast when making breakfast, and he saw me going to throw it away to make better toast. (It was REALLY BURNT) He grabbed it from me and happily ate it claiming, "I love it like this." You could bring him the wrong plate at a restaurant, and he'd happily eat it. My teenage son, who is almost 20, (19 is barely a teen, but old enough to eat a good amount, and he's not even a little bit picky.) This is just a bit of important background, so you understand the severity of the bad taste issue. All three of us sat down to eat, and my BF gave everyone each A slice. My son would normally eat half a pizza if he had been hungry enough, and after working all day, he was definitely hungry. My son ate most of his slice, and I noticed he did not go back for seconds. I don't think he even finished the crust. My boyfriend did the same, and the slices were small. So, this XL pizza probably had about 6-8 slices per half. (For context, SBARRO has 6 slices for their XL entire XL pizza, making each half only 3 slices.) I took a bite, and I spit it out and discarded it in my napkin. When no one wanted more, I put my piece back in the box, and saw that the rest of the pizza in the box had not been touched. By morning, it was the same, and that is NEVER the case, not even with subpar pizza places which we'd never order again. read more

I'll be generous and give them a 3. Couldn't remember the last time I ordered from here for a "get the pizza after work" dinner but there are new owners, which is fine. When I placed my order, the site said it'd be ready in 45 minutes, which seemed long but it was Friday night...everyone wants pizza. When I arrived, I was told it wasn't ready and it'd be another 15 minutes. Another guy and myself killed time waiting for our orders while people kept looking out from the little window of the kitchen, and we overheard "I've got so many tickets right now" and "where's the other one?" (whatever that means). Another 5-10 minutes AFTER the updated quote time, the pizza was ready, and an apology was given to the register instead of me. It sure seems that they're understaffed. I didn't remember the crust being this fluffy & soft, nor the sauce this sweet. Had that been how Pinball's pizza was in the past, I wouldn't have returned (just based on personal preference on how I like my pizza) but the others were fine with it, so majority rules in this case. Looking at the menu and the improvements to the interior, the new owners are trying to up their game, which is admirable...just seems like they've still got a bit more to go. read more

First off, the place looks great! The theming, the pinball machines and the new seating are all on point. Those are the positives. The food on the other hand, for better or worse, is the same as the previous owners. I was hoping the food would be better. It is, at best, mediocre for me. The pizza is bland. The chicken is bland and overly salty. The ribs are bland. The service is a little disorganized. Sorry. The place looks great though! read more

I've been ordering from this spot since the '90s, but it was always delivery. I drove by the other night and it caught my eye, so I stopped in, and I love what they've done with the place. We Burbankers don't like to brag, but we're quite the pizza town. Picking up to dine at home? Put family-owned Pinball at the top of your list. Not too thin, not too thick, pizza here always hits the spot. Pinball has a zillion specials (check pinballpizza.net, click on PINBALL SPECIALS). In addition to pizza, they've got ribs, sandwiches (the meatball sub is a hit), French fries, and crowd-pleasing buffalo wings). Several of the specials are combos with pizza, wings and soda -- if that is not a party, I don't know what is. No tables, no chairs; pick up and go. Last call to place an order for pickup or delivery is 11:30pm; they close up shop at midnight. After all these years, our favorite thing to order is still the "Family Special": -Extra Large one topping pizza (reg or thin crust available) -8 piece chicken or 12 Jumbo Wings - 4 cans of Soda of your choice All for $33 something with tax, before tip. Wow! Been going to Pinball Pizza for years and it seems like it just got better. They cleaned the place up and even had Pinball machines in there to play while you wait for your food! Had the usual family special with pizza, broasted chicken and drinks and it was delicious as always. I wish I could give this zero or negative stars. Pizza took over 2.5 hours to arrive. First, their webpage showed the driver right around the corner. 20 min later, we called - were told that this was a glitch, pizza was currently 10 min away. 20 minutes later, called to cancel (past hour no 2 at this point) told that it was on the way. Finally arrived more than 2.5 hours later. Wings were not cooked all the way through. And then the pizza...so apparently the new owner INSISTS that they are using the same ingredients, recipes, process, etc...this is nonsense. The only resemblance to the pizza under the old ownership was that it was round. It ended there. Smaller pizza, absolutely different - and inferior - crust, sauce tasted different and the presentation was off - there was a 3" strip across one side with zero cheese. These new owners have taken what was once an excellent and affordable dinner and driven it right into the toilet. I should have gone to Costco for a better and less expensive pizza. I used to really like this place, and now I will never, ever be back. Update: First method of deflection: "We can't find a record of you." A different member of my household with a different phone number placed the order. She's the one who called at least 3 times that evening and received 3 different excuses. "Additionally, if there were concerns about undercooked chicken, we would have expected to receive a call immediately so we could issue a refund or replacement right away. We have no record of a complaint matching this situation." Correct, because after 3 or 4 calls with different excuses, we were DONE with you. We had already wasted nearly 3 hours with you people. It's cute that you expect me to provide you with photos of your lousy food. There are multiple reviews out there with the same or remarkably similar situations as I described. I used to love pinball, got it every week, but since the change in ownership it's not the same pizza. Same ingredients but they don't have the dough down. When I ordered they gave me a pizza and the dough was not risen, it was really disappointing and just shouldn't have been given to a customer. Hopefully they can get it down one day... This review is long overdue. As a self proclaimed pizza connoisseur, I must say that the pizza here is phenomenal. The crust is fresh and the sauce has a wonderful flavor that words cannot describe. It's not the same owners. Found out when I showed up. Ordered online well in advance. Showed up to find that my order was not made. Instead of asking for my money back, I decided to wait for them to make 1 medium cheese pizza. It took them, to simply make a cheese pizza, over an hour to make. I'm never coming back for the sole reason of the lack of customer service, lack of communication, my pizza was slightly overdone. Just didn't taste the same. Worst experience in my pizza life. I really don't want to leave a low star review, but when you know a couple of kids are in the car, hungry and you keep saying 10 more minutes, that's just lying. I would have appreciated when I first came in, being told how long the order would take and if I would accept to wait an hour. Not fool me. At least offer me a pizza on the house for next time or water for waiting. Any offering would have saved you from this review. Good luck on your new business endeavors. Had a feeling something was off... Sadly we have been pinball pizza customers for years!!! I mean since the 80's. About 2 weeks or so ago we placed an order and after an hour went by I thought wow it never takes this long so I phoned and was told they were really busy and it was going out in about 5 minutes. So I decided to track my order and it showed it being out for delivery but it was going to take 20 minutes to get to us when we are 3 blocks away!! So not only am I getting an extremely late pizzas but a cold ones as well... I phoned again and asked them to cancel my order , I wasn't paying 50 plus dollars for late cold pizzas..now I have been getting odd text messages from them, advertising specials and such which I don't appreciate .. and never got before... so come to find out NEW OWNERS!! It's unfortunate to order something then you paying a lot more these days for delivery and the service and then they get your order wrong. It's just not OK. It's not OK at all . Pinball's never been a top pizza place for flavor and food. It's kind of the third choice. After some research I found out it's been sold. Unfortunately the new owners are not releasing their names so that's suspicious already. I don't like that I like to know who I'm buying and who I'm spending my dollars with because if I don't Like the food or whatever I have a right to know who's producing it so since they're keeping that somewhat under wraps publicly I won't be back and the previous owners had reasonable prices and a really good special for families and it looks like these new owners have increased prices by I mean over 50% Pinball machines went out a long time ago very small population that even likes them so bringing pinball machines into the restaurant I don't know how long that fat is gonna go, but there should be a law when you take over a restaurant from a previous owner who's had it for over a decade you need to change the name because it isn't the same and you can't try and keep loyal customers by to me hiding behind a name that truly doesn't represent you Good try read more

This is one of our new faves to pick up a pizza when we don't feel like cooking. We tried it for the first time last night. I ordered online (large cheese with pepperoni, olives, mushrooms and bell pepper, along with a small Pinball salad, corn, cheesy fries and potato salad) and my husband picked it up. I couldn't believe how fast our food was ready. I ordered at 7:18, and he showed up a little early at 7:30. The person working at the counter apologized and told him he would "have to wait 3 minutes." All that food in less than 15-20 minutes?? The staff was very, very nice. The pizza was delicious! The salads and corn came in generous portions too, and I highly recommend the cheesy fries. We really enjoyed everything, and it was so reasonably priced. I ordered too much, and the whole dinner, ply tax and tip was around $50. They also offer wings, ribs, pastas, desserts, and other dinner items like fried shrimp.
