Got the Humdinger which was a double patty with lettuce, tomato and onion with sauce. Reminded me of a big Mac but with better patties than McDonalds. Service was friendly, but I had gotten confused when she asked what car I was at and that she would knock on the window. She did not mean my car window but the window of the store so I was confused when I heard loud knocking but there was no one around my car. Stopped by for a quick lunch and so glad we did. They have a couple of tables outside but it was raining so we just ate in the car. The food was packaged well that it wasn't messy. We got the deluxe cheeseburger, deluxe burger, fries, and chicken strips. We didn't realize the chicken strips came with fries too so it was a lot of food. The burgers were some of the best I've had. Loved that the buns were toasted and the patty was crisp. There was just enough sauce and toppings inside. The crinkle fries were crisp but a bit oversalted. I ordered the fried mushrooms and onion rings with a cherry shake to wash it down. The shakes are wonderful! Delicious and flavorful. The food is reminiscent of what I used to get at Pike Place Market in the early 90s. The staff is kind and knowledgeable. The building is more of a buy and go type of place but they have a couple picnic tables outside if you want to eat there. Or you can eat in your car, they just knocked on their window to let me know my order was ready and I picked it up. Previous reviews were so good we decided to try it...boy were we dissapointed. The woman with the short brown hair was incredibly impatient. I immediately apologized that we had never been there. There was no line behind us yet she kept repeating "Is that all"? "Anything else"? It was a bit comical as she obviously was annoyed with our brief indecision. Once we received our order we counted 5 small Onion rings, Small serving of french fries, Humdinger burger was made incorrectly and my Shake was just raspberry syrup. We were so hungry we ate the measly portions of fries & onion rings ( tasted like they used the same oil all day) but I could'nt finish my very bland burger. Honestly, I love Humdinger's. It is kind of our tradition to stop on our way to the coast for a bite and we've been doing it since I can remember. That would be since the 90's. It's nothing fancy, just consistently good food that's probably bad for you. I don't think I've ever been there and had a bad meal. As much as we always want to try different things we end up getting the same meals (but I have had their bacon burger too). On our last trip it was the Humdinger (burger), a cheeseburger and fries, a side of fried gizzards and clam strips and a couple of shakes. The Humdinger (burger) was messy, but most of the time that equates to a good burger, juicy, flavorful and gooey cheese and two patties. The gizzards, one of the few places I can get 'em. I'm hard pressed finding anywhere around where I live, sad really. But they were freshly fried perfect, not so much that they are over cooked and hard to eat. My boy loved his cheeseburger and ranks it in his top 3, just below Kokopelli's Grill cheeseburger and Dick's cheeseburgers. As for the wife, she always enjoys her clam strips because they are nice strips of actual clam, not just meager morsels of hollowed out crunchy breading and a bit of clam here and there. As for their shakes, nice, thick and creamy and combine flavors anyway you want. Peanut butter and chocolate for my lady and a cinnamon shake for the boy child. Humdingers it definitely someplace I always look forward to going to when I know we are planning on going to the coast. Probably a good thing I don't live any closer otherwise I'd probably make it a weekly stop if not daily. Probably wouldn't be good for my waist line or cholesterol level either. Driving through Hoquium at lunch time we were looking for a burger place to stop and eat. Right in the main road through town at the bridge was a little burger joint we decided to check it out. A few others were pulling in also. We placed our order for the deluxe cheeseburger which had everything on it but the kitchen sink. I got onion rings and my hubby had fries. They told us to wait in the car and they would bring it out to us. This was probably due to the new normal and weather. It was cold and rainy! Onion rings were few. But they were good. Burger was decent. Way better then fast food joint! I love small burger stands. Good choice if you're hungry and coming through town. Support small business! read more

We stopped here because my son had a game in the area. They do have a VEGGIE burger even though it's not on the menu. We ordered fries and burgers. I enjoyed my food, my kids and husband did as well. Al's Humdinger is a little place located right off the 101 and the banks of the Hoquiam river. Step inside to the tiny glass enclosed lobby to place your order, then wait for someone to signal you over to the little pass-thru window. Pay attention or you might miss it. I had the fish & chips dinner which included 2 fillets, crinkle fries & coleslaw. - I'm pretty sure the fish was pre-battered/frozen fillets. They weren't greasy and the fish was moist & flaky, but they didn't have the flavor that you get from hand-battered fresh fish. The tartar sauce (pre-packaged from Sysco) tasted mostly like plain mayo, even though some relish was visible. - The crinkle fries were great. Crisp on the outside and light and fluffy in. Dipped in their fry sauce they made for a 5 star side. - The coleslaw was fresh and crunchy but could have used a little more seasoning. A little lemon, sugar & onions would elevate this side. Service was prompt and friendly. Next time I'll try their namesake burger since that seems to be what folks rave about here. A nice little restaurant with a good selection of fast food. However, on our way back from Seaside, Oregon to Seattle, WA my wife and I tried calling multiple times before stopping by no one picks up the phone. It was Tuesday around 3 pm we decided to stop by for two things; fried mushrooms and gizzard. They ran out of gizzards. So, we ordered the mushrooms and headed home. It was one of those things/ days, it took us a little over an hour or so just to make it across the bridge. Traffic was heavy. I would have given it another star if that plus a restroom for the customers to use. The long trip there was not worth it unless you are on your way to or from the ocean shores. This doesn't make any difference, but the waiter took food to others sitting in their cars. Ours, the waiter made some gestures for us to go and get our food from the little window, knee-high. We love their food and will stop on our way to the shores or go fishing in the area. read more

During Covid I have been supporting local places to eat at. No exception here. Unfortunately it is not exceptional place. Good but no wow factor. The meat is frozen and the Humdinger is a messy burger to say the least. The chocolate malt was made with vanilla "ice cream" with added chocolate syrup which wasn't mixed together very well. Not creamy, more icy-like. Thank goodness for straws so I could stir it up some more to get to the chocolate at the bottom. The food is fine. I got the clam strips based on another yelp review and yes - they were clams and not just breading! but also not flavorful. The coleslaw was lackluster. We moved to Aberdeen a few months back. One of our movers told us about Humdinger's and we decided to try it. Absolutely wonderful. We've ate here 6 times and each time the burgers are hot, fresh, flavorful and delicious. The fries always hot although they are just crinkle fries. Good but just fries. The onion rings are out of this world good and their shakes are real Ice cream Shakes. The strawberry actually has real berries in it. The service is almost always perfect. 1 out of 6 the counter lady was rude and I wanted to smack her. But every other experience has been met by wonderful staff who clearly care about the customers. Not super impressed. My first time here, one of the workers was screaming at a customer in the parking lot. The cashier was very sweet. I'm so glad to have been recommended this place!! The Humdinger felt very homemade and delicious. I think it's a very unique mix of flavors and makes a good and juicy bite to eat. I would give 5 stars for the food! It's a bit odd how they expect us to know when our food is ready, because what if one can't hear them beat the window? I guess it's another unique factor that makes this place nostalgic for older people and unique. Place looks a little rundown on the outside, but the food makes up for it. Fry Sauce was a little overhyped though, but that's coming from a die hard ketchup fan. I love exploring and trying new food. No I will not be taking feedback on my 4 star rating. You either get it, or you don't. This place is a hidden gem whose prices will take you back 20+ years. There's absolutely nothing fancy about this place, but a good greasy burger and a perfect milkshake to wash it down. I've read a lot of reviews here talking about small portions, but what were you expecting when the item is $3 whole dollars? Buy two if you're that hungry, it surely won't hurt your wallet at these prices. And YES I will be stopping here whenever I roll through the area. read more
