I just LOVE eating here: This place has fantastic, super fresh food and the people who work here are just truly AMAZING. I love the people and the food here. This place is always full, that speaks loudly to their credit. The food is always fresh made to order and really hot. The options and prices here are awesome. You cant beat their prices. The place is not freshly updated but who cares!!!! When you get this amazing & kind service and you see that the Team really cares about the Customers & how they work so well together that will draw me back in to eat here again and again. The young man at the Grill is fantastic. He really cranks it all out and the amazing women who work with him here really pull the whole place together. He couldnt do it without them and they couldnt do it without him. The Team work you cant help but notice here is truly admirable. I am excited to try their complete meal specials. The food was amazing. The staff were great. The diner itself needs a lot of work. I was a little hesitant to even enter. It looked like an abandoned diner at first site. A couple of tables in a darkened extra room with full and empty boxes. The tables in the main diner were okay but the seats were horrible. There is nothing I hate worse than sitting to eat and the seats cause my chin to rest on the table. It was so awkward. The diner ceiling... I have no words. And there was grime, dirt, old food, etc just caked everywhere. I am not sure I would go back unless it was food to go. read more

Small diner attached to a grocery store. Walking in, the place is very cluttered. The main dining area has 5 booths with well worn (and torn) seats and about 8 usable counter stools. The place was full but someone was leaving just as we arrived, so had a place to sit away from the cluttered area. One cook and one waitress, so food will not come out fast. I ordered a simple ham and cheese omelet and wife ordered an egg, bacon and pancake. The cook did walk over after we'd been sitting for a bit and let us know the hash browns were going to take another 10 minutes. Really appreciate the communication. However it took another 30 minutes beyond that to get our food. If you don't have an hour to wait for a simple order, best to avoid this place. The pancake arrived first. It's huge! Fills the whole plate but it was a little raw in the middle. I thought it tasted fine but wife wasn't impressed. The omelet was totally loaded with ham, and tasty. The hash browns were super crunchy, which isn't my favorite, so most of it went uneaten. Overall, the quality of the food wasn't worth the wait. read more

This diner, attached to a grocery store, is a gem for locals. The portions are generous, and the food is flavorful and satisfying. I ordered the sausage omelette, which came with hashbrowns. I opted to swap the toast for a half-serving of biscuits and gravy, the gravy is made fresh in-house and was outstanding. The service was equally impressive. Both the server and cook were friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. My coffee cup was never empty. That said, the décor could use some love. The tables and counters are showing their age, and many of the seats have visible tears patched up with tape. While it's clear this isn't a spot for ambiance, the quality food and service more than make up for it. The waitress was wonderful! Upon entering there was a lot of boxes being stored at the entrance which made it seem like a not so reputable place. I ordered a waffle with strawberries and whip cream, I felt there was way to much whip cream but the waffle itself was disgusting. It was hard on the outside and dry on the inside, it separated and tasted terrible. I also ordered hash browns with cheese and veggies and the cheese had a funny taste to it and the veggies tasted like they had been cooked in rancid meat grease. Can't comment on the food because we waited for over an hour after ordering breakfast. I realize it's "A small grill" which is what they told us when we asked about the delay, but for someone to sit there for an hour and then avoid eye contact is ridiculous. They shouldn't be open. read more

***RACIAL DISCRIMINATION*** My party and I wanted to dine at an all-American-greasy-spoon for breakfast. We read that the Diner in Aberdeen got four-star rating. We arrived at about 10:20 AM. As walked into the diner from the parking lot we noticed the patrons (all White people) were staring at us through the window. Upon our arrival inside the restaurant, the ENTIRE patrons continued staring at us. One of us in our party waved to everyone and said, "Hi!" They held their stare for a few seconds...we felt very uncomfortable. The restaurant was filled-to-capacity. The server said we could sit anywhere, we took our seats. We noticed the table wasn't wiped down, and we could clearly see syrup drippings and crumbs. The server took our drink order. She brought our coffees and waters, and she took our orders. We waited nearly 1 HOUR AND 45 minutes for our food to arrive. As one of the kitchen staff was exiting the restaurant, she apologized for the long wait and she explained that she could make only two pancakes and hash browns at-a-time, and that she had called for more help. We continued to wait. The server came by several times to refill our coffees and waters, and she kept apologizing for the long wait. Two members of my party told the server to cancel their orders, and they mentioned they weren't hungry anymore. We all noticed 3 other sets of patrons being served their food, as they arrived way after we did. We then decided it was time to leave. Congratulations are in order to the staff of the Diner Aberdeen: you have succeeded in not serving us, and I highly doubt our food orders were even started. My party consisted of 3 females and 4 males; and we are of African-American and White and Marshallese and Hawaiian and Filipino descent. It's very sad that in today's world racism still exists. Definitely worth the stop. Home cooked breakfast with ample portions! The Denver Omelette was enough for two people.

Stopped here on our way home from a weekend visit to Westport. Staff were all incredibly friendly, and the food was perfect. We will definitely make this a regular stop on our return trips from the coast. read more
