Food has been consistently good over many visits. They have tasty tortas, burritos and more, but I usually stick with their carnitas and Al pastor tacos. The rice and refried beans are also quite good so you won't go wrong if you order the combos. If you've never had them before, let me explain what elevates them to such high regard. It all starts with Birria, the Mexican stew that the beef is slow cooked in and also what gives the beef the tender and juicy umami that makes these tacos so unique. Someone had the brilliant idea to dip corn tortillas in the Birria (what gives these tacos their unique reddish color), then stuff them with cheese and the slow cooked beef right out of the stew. They are then fried until crispy and served with more of the delicious consomé so you can dip the tacos...just in case they weren't already over the top amazing enough for you! Just these tacos alone are worth a visit, but they also have some of the best tortilla chips & salsa I've found around the harbor!

What we ended up getting was a street taco and the Janeth burrito. The sweet truck lady was generous about approving our attempt at pronuncing the unusual name (just like it looks) but we didn't ask for its origin. As soon as we got our food we went out of our minds with delight. The Janeth is Mexican sausage, beef, pork, avocado, rice and beans and so many fillings would usually seem like overkill to me but the flavors were so harmonious and together made one incredible mouthful after another. After we finished eating we were still oohing and ahhing about the flavors lingering in our mouths. Same went for the beef street taco which I knew would be good as soon as I discovered a carrot that was clearly pickled by hand.
