My daughter said it was "the best birria I've had in a long time." The meat was tender and (not to sound too cliche) the consommé was packed with flavor. The papusas the chicken and cheese was the best one, followed by the jalepeno and cheese, the rest were not bad, just nothing to write home about. As far as the tacos go, the carne asada was fine, the adobada had great flavor and a decent char on it. This made for a great post-crab fishing meal and will likely come back next time we're in town. Oh! This place is on the pricier side, just so there's no sticker shock. The service was decent, but I'm pretty sure our papusas were dished up wrong, but such is life when they all look the same, the inside of the restaurant is all of we the place but super clean. read more

The food is awesome! It is NOT Mexican it's Salvadorena . Spices are close but OMgosh it's totally different. I got the pasilittos I think I'm spelling it right if not sorry. Little corn bread empanadas with potato carrots pork and peas. These are deep fried. Burritos are so big and everyone I get them for love them. Papusa are very good here. . Soups . Deep fried tamales they called fritos so good cornmeal stuffed with whatever you want. read more

would not recommend this place the wait staff seemed very short with us like they didnt want us there, they were out of tons of items and the food was bland. and after the bad service i wasnt very hungry anyway so i didnt really eat much. i returned the casadilla my daughter ordered because they wouldn't include the tomato slices or avacado slices that were advertised.then when i asked for a refund then wanted to try to accommodate but before that basically just gave us the cold shoulder. read more

I detour here every time I come to the Olympics. The pupusas are to die for! I love the curtido! There's plenty of parking around the building. The atmosphere inside is cozy, and I like looking at the el Salvadoran decor. We ordered and paid at the counter, deciding to dine in. We were quickly served water then chips and salsa (a new welcome touch!). The Pupusas didn't take long and were delicious, as usual. I love the pork bean and cheese. My partner got chicken and cheese too and enjoyed it. Once we finished, our to go chicken tamales arrived - a great and tasty bfast the next morning! Checked out this place after a camping trip. This place is clean. Great parking. In and out flowing customers. The service blows! I believe in the time I ordered and finished my food about 5 customers were waiting for there's and came in before us. On one table they would bring one meal and then forget the other. For another customer they had been sitting there for a good 40 mins waiting and no food. I hope those customers were compensated for their meals. Salvadorian food was not good. I ordered 6 pupusas revueltas. 2 of those came back with chicken inside them like I would know the difference. The cabbage slaw had barely any flavor. They have other food items that are mexican that looked great but not sure how they are. We ordered un plato de platano frito. Platano muy maduro it was overdue on it ripeness. Super greasy. The sour cream was great! Beans were mexican pinto beans not black. Also got the chicharron and yucca plate. 3 pieces of small chicharron were on it. When we tried ordering the ensalada drink (salvadorian drink) the waitress looked at me like I was crazy haha I guess you aren't salvy Personally I wouldn't recommend this place for salvadorian Food. Great pupusas! I got a chicken and pork, bean, and cheese. The pork bean and cheese was slightly tastier than the chicken, but I enjoyed both. They came out hot and fresh within 15 minutes. It was also nice to be able to dine in the restaurant, instead of having to take it back to my hotel room. This place was hopping at 7pm on a Friday evening! They have both takeout and dine in with around 8 tables inside. There was a steady stream of customers coming in and calling orders in the whole time we were there. Very affordable prices and a wide menu selection. We weren't super hungry, so we got a light dinner to go and ordered the chicken tacos, birria taco, and a spinach and cheese pupusa. One of the reasons to hit the beach at Ocean Shores is so you can swing by this restaurant on the way and get your fill of authentic Salvadoran food. If you're tired of the overwhelming amount of Mexican cuisine around, this Salvadoran place is a great alternative. Was on a road trip and I'd like to think this place really stood out as I drove through town. They have an overwhelming menu at first glance, but the pupusas are really the star. They have the best salsa verde I've ever had, but also the tomato-based red sauce also pairs really well with them too. Don't skip the yuca fries. They're completely underrated and this place does them right. Service was really nice and they take phone orders in advance too. Won't lie, I even had to stop by again on my way back home. The wife and I went here today to try Salvadorian food and it was a very pleasant experience. We've never had Salvadorian food and had no idea what we were missing out on! The staff here were friendly and attentive, even when they started to get busy. I ordered the 2 pupusas meal with one of them loroco and the other one the revuelta with papitas salvadoreñas. My wife ordered el caldo birria and one extra spinach pupusa. The winner of the day for sure was the revuelta pupusa. The pork, bean, and cheese mixture in the pupusa was nice and savory and the pupusa holding the filling was very light. I've never tried loroco before, but it definitely has a subtle nutty flavor that was really nice. My wife really enjoyed her caldo birria and we thought it was definitely one of the better birrias we've had in a while. We also enjoyed the spinach pupusa. The curtido that came with the pupusas was quite delicious and refreshing. It was very tangy with bold flavor and pairs nicely with the pupusa. There were not a lot of negatives, but here goes. We did not think the papitas salvadoreñas were all that great as it's only French fries with mayo, ketchup, and cheese on them, and for almost $8 it wasn't worth it. The rice that came with my pupusa platter was a little bland and the salsa for the chips was a little salty. That being said, we will definitely be back to try more from the menu! read more

Wow, who knew there would be a Salvadoran restaurant in Aberdeen! On our way back from camping in Olympic National Park, we drove through Aberdeen during lunchtime. The nice cashier at the local Grays Harbor farmers' market warned us Aberdeen was "fast food hell" but this restaurant proved there is a diamond in the rough! Spacious dine-in restaurant with great decorations, TVs playing football (American when we were there), large menu, clean restroom, and pretty good selection of beers and other alcohols. You go up to the counter to order then sit down in one of the booth to receive your food. The servers were attentive and friendly. I got 2 veggie pupusas ($1.99 ea, come with curtido) and my BF got one of every single taco (5 meat fillings, each just under $2). I also go the Corona Refresco for just a few bucks and BF got a Jarrito. The taco plate was presented very nicely, with all 5 tacos spread in a gorgeous, mouth-watering halo. My pupusas were one of the thickest and largest in diameter pupusas I have had before. The fillings were generous, perfectly seasoned, hot and gooey. I picked up some escabeche and raw sliced radish to eat with my pupusas. After eating my whole plate, I was super stuffed. BF was also stuffed. He overall enjoyed all the meats, commenting that one of the beef (carne asada or lengua) and the chicken were the best while the carnitas was a bit dry. They also provide 2 house salsas you can squirt on your food, one spicy red and one tomatillo based. We loved the food and service here. I would love to hit this place up again next time I'm in the area and wish there was one closer. read more

So beloved, it even has its own annual holiday, celebrated on the second Sunday of November. These thick griddle cakes are typically made from corn meal and stuffed with a variety of fillings. Here, you'll find pupusas such as Loroco con queso (cheese & finely chopped Loroco flower buds), Revueltas con queso (cheesy pork and beans) & Chipilín con queso (Chipilín leaves & cheese). They were SO tasty, crispy and delicious. The jalapeño and cheese was my favorite. We got 3 carne asada and 1 Al pastor taco. Wish I could give this place 5 stars but the tacos were a huge miss. The meat tasted old and hard. Even dousing them in the tasty homemade green salsa didn't help make them taste better or less dry. STICK TO THE PUPUSAS!!! Very tasty and reasonably priced with friendly service. I tried a new dish to me a-Salvadoran pupusa and it did not disappoint. My husband had a very generous and flavorful carne asada. The down side were the chips and salsa; the chips were cold and slightly stale. I liked the salsa; it was flavorful but mild, so if you like spicy salsa grab the hot sauce. We have enjoyed loroco pupusas at La Salvadorena a number of times. However, yesterday was an exception on our return from the coast. We each ordered two loroco pupusas and we were disappointed. There was very little, if any cheese, complimented by very little loroco. We were each served what amounted to two flour pancakes. The plus side is that they were not oily, as is the case at some Salvadoran restaurants. We were tired, needed to hit the road, and chose not to return the food. Some of us had been eating for a bit before everyone had food. They forgot to bring one item out at all until I went up to ask for it. I had the steak burrito and had good expectations, I was disappointed. The burrito came out ripped in a few places, picking it up and eating was not an option. I cut into it and found whole beans, rice, steak, sour cream, and maybe a little cheese. The tortilla was dry as was the steak. I also had a side of beans and rice. The beans were runny and I was given a fork to eat then with. I was lucky to have the rice so I could mix the two. The rest of the food delivered through the multiple visits was at best ok.
