Loved the spruce tip sour. Came with a pinecone which was cinnamon scented. The roasted beets dish was interesting. Beets were executed well. In the middle of the dish was a nicely toasted brioche bagel. Egg yolk and dashi sabayon added a nice salty creamy umami touch. There were pickled beets surrounding the bagel as well. I wish there was a slight sweet crunch from candied hazelnuts. Service was quick and professional. There were over ten tables as well but I chose to sit at the bar where everyone else was. Nice vibe. Reminds me of Seattle especially seeing how my drink and roasted beets dish ended up costing $43 after service fee, tax and tip. There's no happy hour. read more

We had our wedding at Seabrook and hoped to have it catered. The minute I spoke with Andy I knew it would be memorable and he did not disappoint. I gave him free rein to plan the entire meal from start to finish. His proposal read like edible poetry, the quote was well within our range, we had a ton of leftovers and people were literally saying it was the best meal they ever had! He is truly an artist, the servers could not have been nicer or more attentive and we were so relaxed knowing the whole event was in such capable hands. So we were there at opening and were seated right away. Special on the chalkboard and it was orange sangria and was very tasty in fact got one after the Ophelia drink I got which was tasty and served well by the bartender. Got the mushroom appetizer it was exceptional especially the charred sourdough that could be on the menu all by itself or mixed with other things. Next I had the lingcod was done perfectly moist and well the sauce and presentation was better than most restaurants in the big city. My wife had the carbonara was rich and delicious did not skimp on the bacon. Service was prompt and friendly. Have to see what on the menu next time we pass through. Rediviva was a spectacular experience. Our friends, Matt and Rosa, invited us out to celebrate Rosa's birthday. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we were treated like royalty. Our server was great and helped us make some spectacular menu choices. The menu was full of locally sourced gourmet and made from scratch food. We loved the music as it enhanced our dining experience. Each of us ordered a different type of meal and enjoyed sharing the beef, duck, beet salad and halibut. Our appetizer was a wonderful savory cabbage dish, and the dessert was a raspberry masterpiece with a candle for Rosa to blow out. I feel like it's a high class five star restaurant like you would find in Seattle nestled in downtown Aberdeen. It was delicious, and a wonderful experience! Came here to celebrate my birthday. As someone who is new to the area, I had been pretty disappointed with the lack of fine dining in town (there are lots of good casual spots but nothing more upscale). My partner brought me here, knowing that it would be a hit. Having been to Rediviva before he was familiar with the excellent service and the menu; solid indicators of the kind of evening we would embark upon. As soon as I saw the wine list, I knew I was in the right place. We had cocktails to start; I had an old fashion with a perfect balance. had wine with dinner, a Willamette Valley Chardonnay. Started with a wild mushroom tart which was phenomenal! For the main, I had blackened Cod with miso burre blanc. The flavors were so delicate, and exactly the kind of ambiance, service and attention to detail I seek with this kind of dinner. Our sever Jen, was also great, she told us extra background info about the menu development and ingredients which I always appreciate. As usual, before leaving a review, I read all the negative ones to see where these people are coming from. I have to say, if you are complaining about not getting seating when you made a reservation at peak time, then you should not go to popular restaurants. They are popular for a reason. Also, if you start your 1 or 2 star review with "the food was great, but..." then you should be going to restaurants where the food is not so "great" and then hope that the rest of the experience meets your expectations. This makes no sense to me. I was passing by this little city and looked for the only restaurant that seemed to have an interesting menu that was not just fried food. I stumbled upon this gem of a find. Not knowing anything about the reviews nor the reputation nor the quality, I ordered simple and safe. A "small" plate of Bourbon Duck Breast appetizer which surprised me at its entrance by the presentation and size for a small plate. The taste was even more amazing with sweet and sour tones throughout. The simple selection of the Rediviva Burger was anything but simple. Again, also bigger than expected. Service at the bar (where I always sit no matter where) was professional and super attentive. The bartender warned us even before ordering that the kitchen might be a little slow since the seatings were full. On the contrary, dishes came out at the normal time that it takes to make a good dish. I wish I was more hungry or passing by this town again soon. I would like to try the rest of the menu. Wow, talk about gourmet. What an outstanding experience. We went on Valentines Day which was super crowded. We were seated over an hour past our reservation time as were others around us but the owner comped us some wine, which was appreciated. This was a 4-course meal with paired wine (half pours) if you wanted. The basic price per person (before tax and tip) was $125 so I was surprised to see an additional "service fee" of $20. Our server explained this was "for living expenses and to make sure the back end of the restaurant received tips" or something along that line. Such an added service fee is an illegal charge, and it seems odd that one would be necessary when each couple was already investing $250 (plus tax and tip) toward the restaurant's operating budget. read more

My husband and I came here about a year ago after hearing an amazing review. The hostess took one look at my colored husband in his work clothes (he had been working on a roof all day) and she wouldn't let us in. Tables were empty and I asked her about that and she just with a disgusted face and turned up lip said they can't seat us. I am white and that was the first time I felt what my husband feels a lot. I was appalled. We own a company and make a very good living. She judged us from our looks and skin color. I will never step back into that establishment. read more

Dining here last Saturday night, spoiled by the chef's creations, was so delightful and unexpected that it conjured up memories of the movie 'Ratatouille' in which its unlikely hero and one of cinema's most beloved food critiques Anton Ego wrote the following review, which I'm posting here in homage to Andy Bickar: Original quote: "In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. So first off, if you look at the website and get put off then ignore that! I don't think they update it often!! We were passing through as they say, and chose this place for dinner. Great choice by us. All the food was very fresh, cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. I think the menu changes constantly so go with the flow. If you are looking for a lively experience, Rediviva Restaurant is a true hidden gem in Grays Harbor. I find myself looking for other restaurants in Washington State that can even compare...I am still searching. From the custom, handmade, polished and natural wooden tables, to the raw art created by local artists that adorn the walls, to the playlists on the speakers, to the live flora that is carefully chosen for each season that enrich the restaurant. The dim spotlight effect throughout the restaurant creates a sort of privacy and focus on you and your guests, it is sure to make you feel like you are the star of the experience. They even dim the lights after dusk to accommodate. The attention to detail creates a unique, special and memorable experience. The menu items are constantly changing with the seasons. You can experience true, Pacific Northwest Indigenous cuisine and try things you probably didn't even know were edible--from Spring fiddlehead ferns, to Summer salal berries, to an assortment of Fall pinecones and unusual mushrooms, to late Winter stinging nettles. Each time you return to Rediviva you will see at least three entirely new menu options that will not disappoint or bore. The staff are friendly, lively, and make sure that you feel heard, accommodated for and special. The staff are very knowledgeable about the ingredients in the dishes and are even able to tell you where certain ingredients originate from, providing an educating experience as well. I have seen the chef/owner strategically alter menu items to accommodate vegans and vegetarians, even for children or those who are not fond of spice. The bartenders are easy to make friends with and are masters in the flavor matrix, constantly experimenting with unlikely ingredient combinations that will leave you contemplating things like, "How can a drink that contains ginger and no chocolate...taste like chocolate?" I had even taste-tested a trial cocktail for a "lava lamp" drink, the bartender was somehow able to create a bubbly cocktail with a dense, fruity syrup that constantly lifted off the bottom of the glass, mimicking a lava lamp. Insane! The Chef, Andy Bickar, is also the passionate owner of the restaurant--never saw a day of culinary school in his life. He is prepping, cooking and plating sometimes as many as 30+ meals from scratch in a night, often single-handedly. At the end of the night he'll even clean off the crumbs, grease and various unidentified sauce stains to come visit with you at your table if you'd like. This restaurant has truly been built from the ground, up. Rediviva supports the growth of local artists, local foragers, small businesses, Indigenous businesses and artists, and most of all--their employees. We celebrated my aunt's 85th birthday here. Loved the ambience- it was classy and cozy. Everyone in our party agreed that the food was outstanding- all of it. Locally sourced selections, masterfully prepared, made it all truly special. My husband had the ribeye, and raved about how delicious it was.
