Gosh, this is so hard. We have made it a tradition to come here every year on our way back from ocean shores. We have always loved it. Until this year. My husband asked for extra crispy hashbrowns and he got extra soggy. They weren't even golden at all. Barely even cooked. It seemed very spiteful. I got the monte crisco. They're open later than most restaurants in the Aberdeen area and have a great selection of dinner and lighter fare items on the menu. Service was good. And, while I seem to have polished off a slice of pie before snapping a photo of it, I am tempted to order the other pie flavor from the menu. Vacation = eat more pies. read more

Wonderful diner. The service here was so personal (thank you Elaine for starting our mother daughter trip out right). We got some good fish and chips and probably the best slice of pie we had the entire trip. The prices are fair too, there's Kurt merch for sale. Been coming here for years. Came here the other night around 9pm on a weekend. I normally get the cinnamon roll warmed up and it's great but this time the outer end was harder and tough to chew. I didn't mind as I really am not picky to anything covered in the yummy icing. The pie was some kind of berry pie and we got that warmed up with ice cream and it was pretty good. I got drip coffee as well. The service was alright, only got our coffees refilled once but she did say she brewed a fresh pot. There was a random man being loud and obnoxious and they kept telling him to quiet down so I think she just had her hands full. This place is a gem. I'll always come back. read more

The food was delicious! My two brothers, son and I had dinner here last Saturday Night. The food was delicious. The service was always there when you needed it. Very quick to give refills of drinks and to cater to any other needs like steak sauces or what ever. The ambiance is quite charming and very comfortable. We all had different meals ranging from sandwiches to a grilled rib eye steak. The food was delicious and hot! The pies and ice cream were very delicious as well! No complaints about this place to me it deserves a 5 star review. Let me explain why. People go to Duffy's for comfort and a good solid meal. Which is what Duffy's delivers at a reasonable price. My husband and I visit Duffys every year on our way back from our anniversary trip. I think next year we will look for somewhere else. My husband ordered the steak sandwich and I ordered the Turkey club with clam chowder. The clam chowder was not great. I've had it there before and loved it, I'm not sure what has changed. The server told me that the turkey club was big and robust and it just wasn't. It was smaller than most i've ever had, and for $21? The real treat was the steak sandwich for $22. It was literally a chunk of steak on a plate with two pieces of toast on the side. apparently you needed to slice the steak in half and put it on the toast yourself? We were there two months ago, on our way to Port Angeles. We stopped in Aberdeen to visit Curt Cobain's memorial site, being tourists from Las Vegas. I had heard that Aberdeen was known for their crab. It was cold and windy and knew nothing about Duffy's but it was there, open and we were hungry. Duffy's has been there for around a half century. It does have that old school, coffee shop charm. I have so surprised to learn about their giant pancakes! I was on a vacay, so bring on the carbs!! I also ordered their crab Benedict. I shared a pancake with my husband. It was really special: warm, thick and fluffy. So tasty with the extra butter and syrup. The crab Benedict was outstanding. It did not have a 'fishy scent" to it at all. It was so tender, abundant and tasty. I thought I had more pics, but I guess not. I was too busy eating. I wasn't too exited about the coffee, but the food more than made up for it. If you want to experience a wonderful, giant breakfast and you're in that part of Washington, pop into Duffy's! read more

Food: Eggs and bacon with toast, perfectly cooked. 4 stars. Crab omelette was a 4 stars. The biscuit and gravy is 2 stars. It needed more flavor in the gravy, and homemade biscuits. The kids are pancakes, 4 stars. The kids French toast was also 4 stars but needs another slice. For 8.99 it's one slice of thick bread cut into two, and two slices of bacon. I think this can be done better. The ambiance: No music was playing, a few regulars eating, needs to update the furniture and venue. The staff: The waitress, Elaine was friendly and helpful. The cook: Was confused and was adding things to the plate that didn't belong on the plate. The biscuit and gravy was just a biscuit and had to be removed, the waitress offered to "microwave it." Added jam to a dish with no toast. The hot chocolate was five stars. The cleanup crew: was five stars. Cleaning plates off the table as we finished. As we left, I literally stood there for 15 mins, waiting for the waitress to give me the check after my family left and went to the van. And while I understand she was trying to get drinks to other people, she passed by me like 10 times, so eventually I just went up to pay. I'd say the cost is overpriced for the service. We like Duffy's! We found Duffy's on a trip over to Ocean Shores and stopped in for lunch. The place is large but inviting. For us gen x folks, it feels very nostalgic like grandma's dining room. The menu has an Irish font on it but that's about the only think Irish about the place. The staff is friendly and quick. We overheard one of the wait staff, saying that she'd been working there for 26 years. We hope that means that they treat their employees well because the employees sure treated us well. The restaurant is comfortable and warm. Built to handle the large families who are just passing through as well as the locals who probably visit most days of the week. The menu is pretty extensive, and you can order breakfast up until 4pm. The prices when we visited seemed just a smidge high for the quality, but I feel like that is a result of our current economy but when have you ever known prices to come down after they've risen? We've been to Duffy's a few times now and have ordered a chicken sandwich, burgers, some appetizers, breakfast and even took one of their giant cinnamon rolls to go. No big complaints about any of it except the pork chops. We advise you to not order the pork chops. If you watch our YouTube channel Braaescapades, we reiterate my wife's experience with the chops and explain how they were very dry. My wife had to order a side of BBQ sauce in order to get them down and when we explained the situation to our server, she just smiled and told us that yeah, that's the way the pork chops are here. Other than that, we've enjoyed everything else, and Duffy's is now on our list of go to restaurants when traveling in and around the Aberdeen area. Cheers! read more

Updating my review as I've been here a couple more times and probably won't be back. The main reason is that I almost fell as I slipped on a wet floor while being walked to a table. The waitress mumbled something like "it happens." When we were leaving, I mentioned it to the cashier as there still wasn't a wet floor notice. She grimaced, said she knew and didn't need to be told. Besides that, we asked to move from the booth we were brought to because it was falling apart to another table. We were seated at a small table that could barely handle two entrees and drinks on it. We stopped in a Duffy's restaurant on our way home from Copalis beach today. My wife ordered the fish and chips and opted to have the chicken fried steak. They hand batter halibut per order and it was really delicious. Perfectly seasoned and fried just to our liking, yes I snagged a piece. The fish was not oily at all and I definitely will be hankering for them in the coming weeks. The size of the order was very generous and we ended up taking one large piece home. My wife loves baked potatoes so not much to report on that, sorry no chips to review. I had the chicken fried steak and it was awesome. They offered it with a choice of three different gravy's, brown, cream or sausage. I ordered the sausage gravy. I also asked for onions with my hash browns and eggs over easy. They knocked it out of the park. Great quality. The meat is hand battered and was very good. They served the dish with the steak on top of the gravy which I thought was odd having never seen it served that way before. Brilliant, the gravy stays hot through the meal that way. Everything was seasoned properly and cooked perfectly. I was also offered my choice of several kinds of toast, English muffin or homemade biscuit. I passed on the addition carbs as the potato's already busted my carb quota for the day. The place was clean but did show signs of age as this restaurant had been in operation for a very long time. The wait staff was 100% spot on and really fun to interact with, I like that. My coffee cup was never empty and I should say the coffee was good. Not great but definitely above average. I will never drive through Aberdeen without stopping at Duffy's again. Unfortunately I don't go that way much...maybe I have to find reasons to head that way. We've always had such a good meal at Duffys so we were surprised that this one was not up to par First off the mac & cheese that my granddaughter ordered was runny but she ate most of it so there's that My sister and I both ordered biscuits and gravy and were surprised by the heavy garlic taste which we could not eat because it was just overwhelming ! We were traveling in Washington state, it was morning and we were hungry. We had Yelped locations, could not find the one we picked, but did see Duffy's so went in. There is always the sense of traveling through a time warp when you hit eatablished places that have been around awhile, like Duffy's. Not really old, but it sure had that 1950s or 1960s feel to it. All that was missing was dense cigarette smoke...which did not exist at all. It was clean, but a little worn. We were seated among the locals. Very busy, so much be good. And...dispite the negative Yelp! reviews, it was very good. Portions were generous, service was quick and efficient. No dilly dally here as the wait staff was operating at ramming speed. Get your order in and eat it when served. Typical breakfast fare and their menu covered the three meals of the day. Specials offered. Prices reasonable. We thought it was a nice place to sit, relax and dwaddle over a final cup of coffee before hitting the road again. read more

Heading home from Ocean Shores, my wife and I were hungry and watched for restaurants in Aberdeen. Duffy's looked interesting and there were a lot of cars there for 1:30pm so we thought it must be OK, so tried it. We were quite happy to find the friendly, attentive staff, and good food. I had the fish & chips, my wife had the coconut shrimp. Both were perfectly cooked and tasty. We don't get to this area often but when we do we'll plan on stopping at Duffy's again and try some other menu options. It was also oddly fun to see the radio station and their van out the window, across the street . It reminded us of the TV show "Son of a Critch" on CBC. read more

We usually stop in here for a good dinner on our way to the ocean. The last time we stopped in was 10/11/24 to have dinner. I ordered my usual Captains Platter, and my gf got the Pawn Fettuccini. We were seated so we had a good view of the 2 cooks(?) and the prep area. As I am sitting there, one cook is taking the garbage out through the restaurant and the other one is leaning up again the counter feeding himself. Probably not something you want customers to be watching but it was very slow and not alot of people there but who am I to complain IF the food is good ? Anyway, we get our meals and I just start shoveling it in when my gf notices that one of her prawns has black spots on it and then begins inspecting each prawn and noticing that they all had either black spots or black areas on the body. She then looks at me and asks if I am going to inspect my prawns .....I said, "No, I might see black spots on them." My clams, oysters and prawns were all slightly overcooked. We call the waitress over and show her and she is embarrassed and apologetic. She offers a new meal but not wanting to send the food back and then have the cooks have access to what she'd eat next after complaining, she declined and just had the waitress remove the prawns and she ate the fettucine. The waitress did the right thing and deducted the Prawn Fettuccini from the bill and we left totally disappointed and agreeing never to return. By the time we got to our hotel in Ocean Shores, we spent most of the evening in the bathroom. Very disappointed as this had always been a great place to eat. Never again ! read more

My 65 year old husband was skeptical to order one of his favorite "Go To" menu items, Chicken Fried Steak, particularly since Duffy's was $20.99. But one bite and he stated it was the best he's ever eaten. My "Go To" menu item is Classic Eggs Benedict, and I wasn't disappointed either. We ordered one Swedish Pancake which was very tasty with Duffy's DELICIOUS jam. We got a Cinnamon Roll to take home , which we just ate, and it's so scrumptious. My husband said he'd drive the hour drive just to eat there again. Prices are somewhat high on the menu thus why only 4 star review, but as long we get quality food we don't mind paying higher prices. We would have bought a whole BlackBerry Pie, but it was $34, since on our next visit we'll surely be ordering a slice. read more

So disappointing. Used to come here years ago on the way home from the ocean. We just moved to town and wanted this to be our regular Sunday morning breakfast spot. No way! We went today (Sunday Dec 4th), and it wasn't busy. The wait staff was fine, but the food!! It was awful! The hasbrowns weren't even cooked, not one crispy piece of potato, they were sad, soggy, and yellow, i literally took a tiny bite, and thats it. The eggs, sunny side up, were almost raw. I like a runny yolk but the whites were still runny and that's nasty. For how expensive they are, I expect the food to be awesome. We will find a different place to be our regular spot. Duffys is more aimed at overcharging tourists than serving good food. I'd rather go to dennys. read more

I haven't been to duffys since I was a kid but was so so satisfied with the food we got. The food came out very quickly as well. My steak was perfect and nothing beats their croutons I didn't try the burger but my fiancé said the meat was really really good and he enjoyed everything (said maybe needed a bit more tots for the price) EVERY pie is amazing there. I haven't tried this one before but it was absolutely amazing and huge slices. The server in the lounge was really really attentive and nice. She made sure to check back in multiple times to see how we were doing. The drinks were pretty dang cheap as far as places go in the harbor ($4.99) and our bill wasn't bad at all compared to other places as well. read more

Omg... haven't been here in years! My sis and I having a bday week at Ocean Shores. We r driving to Westport for half a day to check it out. (Hope to find some fresh fish- have cooler). We drove by here on the way to OShores and on way to Wport said let's have breakfast!!! So here we are! Sis had one egg bacon hash browns n muffin. I had Eggs Bene. Two coffees. Mine was soooo good. Coffee was boiling hot... perfect!!! May be back tomorrow on way out. Yup came back the day we were headed back to Tacoma. I Had the razor clams n eggs. O...m... g...! That is so fabulous it may have beaten the Eggs Bene in my book. Two huge razor clams cooked to perfection and soooo tender too. Nice breading and just the right amount of seasonings. Soo delish. It's hard to see a 40-year favorite decline like Duffy's has. Used to be THE go-to dinner spot when I would visit family, or if I was coming back from the ocean. But the last few years I've noticed a decline. Service - Yes, you will notice a change in how they treat local, regular customers vs the countless tourists that come through. But that's normal as you get to know people and develop a rapport - come with open hearts and good will and you will get the same in return. Atmosphere - This place has been around a LONG time. The building has been renovated, but it still has a logging town, no frills vibe that I like. The staff are quick and efficient, and even with the locals don't spend time chatting when busy. They're focussed on getting us fed, not on sitting around chatting. Food - this is where it's hard for me. The chowder was a huge draw here - but the last few times it seemed 'phoned in' - meaning it seemed like some standard recipe from a Betty Crocker cookbook. Last time I tried a pretty standard chicken dish. But the marinara sauce was more like a can of diced, stewed tomatoes. I honestly thought 'is this a bring your own spices dish'? While I can't say the food was poor quality, it lacked the hearty taste and feel of years past. I felt like a Denny's cook had just been hired and hadn't learned their way around the kitchen yet. It's what I refer to as 'inoffensive fare'. It's not going to stick in your memory, but it's going to fill your belly. If you've never been here, give it a try - you won't have your fond memories to compete with and I'm sure you'll think it's 'okay'. As for me, I can't forget what this place was - when loggers and blue collar folks could get an amazing, hearty meal for a decent price. They should forget trying to cater to the quick in-and-out tourist customers and go back to comfort food that sticks with you, in your belly and in your memory. read more

The service used to be iffy, now don't even waste your time and money by coming. She took her sweet time multiple times with all of the other tables and ignored us completely. We were clearly ignored and she threw our ticket down for us to go pay and never asked if we wanted anything else or a to go box. She either doesn't want to help non locals or was just plain judging us for who knows what reason. The only reason we returned was for the jelly as always we had a long wait just getting that.
