My favorite coffee spot I've tried on this side of town. The service was quick and friendly! Super open seating with a toy corner for kids. The bathrooms are so clean and are one stall. I ordered a hot chai with toffee flavor and it was good and spicy. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich which was delicious. Tasted like it didn't come from a freezer which is good. I tried an ice coffee as well and I will be thinking about that for a while. The coffee flavor was perfectly creamy and not watery at all with flavor. The doughnut is also a must. I'm so sad to write a negative review because I was so excited to try this place since we hadn't eaten here since the new larger location. My husband and I arrived 1-1:30 today and we both ordered burgers. My husband ordered a bacon blue cheese burger with steak fries and I ordered an impossible burger with Swiss with shoestring fries. My husband's ordered arrived first and the fries were normal fries not really steak fries, but they were hot and tasty. The waitress said that mine would be coming shortly and that they were waiting in the fries. Upon my husband's first bites of his burger he discovered it was totally cold. He took it up to the counter and then my dish was dropped and it was the same issue. The waitress took mine back and dropped his plate again and told us if it isn't ok then we could get a refund. This was when we discovered the burger was microwaved (still had his bites taken out of it), and the fries sat out while the burger was in the microwave. Yes, now we have a microwaved burger and cold fries. Knowing this how they handled his cold burger we decided to just get a refund and go somewhere else for lunch. I think this issue arose because they served the food for a table of 5 or 6 people that placed their order after ours. The big table got their food before us. Knowing what happened to our food and seeing them eat before us made the conclusion pretty simple, their order should have never been processed before ours. This is why the waitress said the kitchen was backed up. It was just a big fail. I think the problem is that everyone working there was very young and I feel they were very inexperienced in having the skills it takes to work in a kitchen, serve food or deal with customer service. When the cashier did the refund of my husband's meal, she only refunded his. I asked if she also refunded mine since they had it back for the same reason, she asked, "oh, you want yours refunded too"? I'm not sure how this refund is going to work with doing two separate refunds on one ticket. I checked our bank and the charge was pending so I will have to follow it for the next couple of days to see where it puts us. Honestly in my opinion, she should have refunded it all, including the tip. They kept the tip. We will give this place another try in 4 to 6 months to give them time to work out their issues. Hopefully someone will see this post and work on additional training. read more

I love coming into Jitter House when I'm driving through Hoquiam. It's got the best vibe, some really cool vegan leather bags for sale, and an incredible selection of puzzles. AND stickers! At 35¢ apiece, you can make your kid extremely happy looking through the drawers of stickers or even your own inner child. The cafe con Azuquita is an unusual latte and one of my favorites anywhere -- subtlety sweet with a touch of saltiness, it's an absolutely satisfying and warm pleasure. read more

This place feels like the best something, but im not really sure what its the best at. Maybe because its really really good at everything it does... or offers. This place has a bit of history, as they used to be in the room next door, but upgraded into this larger space. Very large for a cafe... wait, is this a cafe? The decor is very western washington with plenty of explosed wood. I like that they have different functional spaces from office chair, to normal tables and seating, a section for babies, and even a section for merchandise. The coffee and food are what we came for and amazing coffee and food we got. The have your standard selections for cafe food and drink with a few unique offerings. I highly recommend trying that cafe conquizal or what ever its called. On the menu it says the drink is made with special seasonings. I have ordered this drink several times because its that delicious. My desserts were also too notch. The food was really really delicious also. I tried the berry blue cheese bacon burger and oh boy it was one of the best burgers ive ever had. The chicken and waffles on the other had were² good but pretty basic. Honestly this might be the best overall family friendly cafe in washington.... I dont think they have better coffee selection than moore in seattle, but its forsure roomier with a much larger selection and slightly better service as they deliver your orders to your table. read more

I've driven by this place many times and often thought "I bet they have some good coffee and food" and I was only mildly wrong. The staff wasn't blatantly rude, but they weren't great. I asked if there was a menu, besides the drinks written on a white board, the chick at the counter said no.....then asked if I wanted breakfast or lunch (it was 1:30pm). When I responded lunch she pointed to a very small print "lunch" menu to the side of the counter. Being a vegetarian, there was one option - the vegetarian panini. During the 20ish minutes it took for them to make a very basic, and not all that great, sandwich I observed the odd combo of religious and patriotic decor (none of which is a bad thing!) and visit the very odd restroom (loose toilet in a giant room that should house three toilets and two urinals yet for some reason had one toilet and one urinal with an oddly placed table in the middle). The overall feeling of the place wasn't as clean as I'd like to see for a small town coffee chop I also had the pleasure of listening to what I can only guess was the owner or manager trying to order car parts, mildly rudely and repeatedly over the phone while he subbed in for the lack of staff. Overall, it wasn't a great look. The coffee was decent and the food wasn't horrible. I won't make the stop again. There's other options in the area, and idk why anyone would visit twice unless it's the only walkable spot for them. read more

The staff here were super friendly for our large group as we came in on a weekend for breakfast. They have a lot of different offerings and we all got something different. One of the things that stood out to me was that they served hemp milk here, which I absolutely love. I didn't get to try it this time though since we were going to hit the road immediately after. I got a breakfast croissant which had bacon and egg inside, and substituted the cheese for extra bacon. It was a pretty good sandwich! The croissant wasn't actually croissant shaped but rather square so it was smaller than I expected and quite pricey for what it was. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this spot as the ambiance and service was super nice. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area! read more

This place is amazing and I can see why it has a high rating! It's not a very big cafe and has cute farmhouse rustic feeling. It's not a one style fits all type seating. It's a very unique and different style seating, which I love. Food selection is great and they are only open for breakfast and lunch. When we got our food, it was not as warm as I like, but I'm not one to base my negative comments on one thing but willing to come back again for another try. We tried the Avocado toast which comes with 2 slices of toast (which we shared the order) with a side of sautéed mushrooms, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 3 sausage links AND the house special coffee CAFE CON AZUQUITA... amazing!!! I forgot to take a picture of the avocado toast with mushrooms and bacon. LOL. We bought a bag of their coffee bean since we always love trying new beans when quality is really good. The best part is they roast their beans in-house which I think makes it even better. The staff overall was really nice and attentive. Price was in the middle range not cheap but not too overpriced either. We met the General Manager, Kevin, and was really nice and easy to talk to. He explained to us the process for the house special coffee and that he's in a testing phase for the special blend that is used for it and if everything works out in about 3 weeks it might be ready for retail and I'm excited for that. We might need to make a stop back here just for that. Overall I'm happy we decided to come here.... We will be back again!! read more

Passing thru the area and needed a quick pick me up. Chose this place on a whim as it was right on our route. SO glad we stopped here. First off, it's super cute and welcoming and the owner who's working the counter is incredibly friendly and kind. We got two coffees, a cinnamon roll, and the chicken panini and everything was delicious. They heated the cinnamon roll and we were just smiling after taking the first bites. The chicken and apricot panini had such great flavor, and the bread was crusty and yummy. All around, a perfect stop and love to support this local small business in Hoquiam. read more

This place moved next door! Its much larger now and nice too. I stopped in yesterday 11/10/2024 for a cup of Cafe Con Azuquita. The Barista there yesterday was excellent and this coffee is SO-SO delicious. A 20oz comes with 5 shots. WOOPIE, it was perfect. This coffee takes time to make and it is SO worth the wait. I looked up how to make it at home since I rarely go by Hoquiam in the morning. I made some this morning at home with my USB rechargeable Frother, regular drip coffee, raw sugar and it worked so well. See USB frother photo attached. read more

This is a nice coffee house in a historic downtown building, the atmosphere is very comfortable, with a big nod towards veterans. The staff was very nice and very professional, and they made a first class cup of coffee. The bonus for the breakfast sandwiches, quiche, and burrito. These are outstanding! a group of us go out for lunch every Thursday, we had been to the old location and all loved it so wanted to try new location. Sadly, none of us will be going back. There were 8 of us and I ordered second in line. The women who ordered last got her meal first. Then one by one everybody else's came. I finally went up to counter and asked about mine and she said just a min...came back and told me it would be another 5 min. By this time everybody was just about finished with their lunch so I said just to wrap it up to go. A clerk or owner did come over to me and said she was sorry and I could pick out a pastry. I declined but then someone on the table said take it for me..:-) My sandwich came and I took a bite and it was missing the roasted peppers which was on the menu but I was just happy to get the sandwich. I will say two of the table did like their meal but the other 6 were not impressed at all. For $20 (including tip) my sandwich was just okay. We all loved the old owner and the food...I hope they get the kinks worked out of their order system. I would love to see them succeed. read more

Driving through and needed a coffee fix. This cute shop is located in the historic area of downtown. It is very quaint and I liked the atmosphere inside. Very laid back small town feel where everyone knows everyone. The person behind the counter was really nice and personable, asking me questions about my coffee preferences and day to day things. I ended up ordering their specialty, of which the name escapes. But I know it was in Spanish! Hey hey. It was a perfect sweet/salty flavor with the espresso still being the star. I really enjoyed it and was so happy it got recommended to me. I'd go there regularly for sure if I lived anywhere near there. But alas, I'm nearly two hours away so, ya win some ya lose some. read more

Wow what a great place. The owner is friendly and engaging. He is in the process of expanding and has great things in store. We just tried the Cafe Con Azuquita both with dairy and with oat milk. It was the best blended coffee drink ever! My partner got a pastrami panini and that was very special as well. All the baked goods are made in-house. We live outside Seattle and the coffee compares favorably to coffee in the city. If you find yourself near Hoquiam, I highly recommend stopping by the jitter house. read more

Was excited to try place for lunch, now regret it. Fish and chips was very greasy. The staff was beyond inattentive, as if customers weren't there. Ordered 2 fish and chips, they brought one. Then a male staff member came over and said I had paid for one. I responded, but I ordered 2. I overheard him telling his staff that I should have noticed because of the amount paid that it was only 1. Such fun and delicious coffee! My friends and I tried a honey latte, a cafe con azuquita and a lavender latte. They were each fantastic. Me and my husband came in, he ordered a burrito and I got a coffee. It is Mother's Day weekend so we expect places to be pretty busy.. however we waited 40 min for his burrito and around 15 min for my coffee. When I had gone up and asked if food was almost ready (a server had already said he would check and never came back) the lady at the front desk said yes and 10 more min later was it ready. It was a bit frustrating since seeing families of 4+ receiving their food ahead of us when we ordered one burrito. Very nice, just very long waits. Went in for a latte this morning, and it was a great experience. They were busy, and despite just having one barista, everyone was served promptly. When told I was from Alaska, he made small talk about it. He seemed to genuinely enjoy serving the public. The dining room was clean, and well kept up. There were pictures and Knick knacks, all with a positive or humorous theme to them in the establishment, and several American flags lined the entryway.
