Look, this is Washington. There is a small coffee hut on just about every corner. Really, drive anywhere and you'll lose count. We were road tripping. My Aunt wanted a Diet Coke, so she headed to McDonalds. I'd mentioned I wanted a coffee, and BAM! There was the Tinderbox, literally across the street from Mickey Ds. We pulled into the drive thru behind another car. We didn't realize you could drive to either side and we're a little annoyed when another car pulled to the empty side and got waited on before us -- after all, we'd been sitting behind the other car for a good 5 mins. When we got to the window, we realized the girl was working alone. Maybe this is a one-off situation, but with another 2-3 employees, this would have been a quick in and out. Regardless of the wait, the girl was really sweet and attentive. She was patient as I stumbled through the options and asked questions about things on the menu. I wanted an iced coffee. She suggested the cold brew. Usually cold brew is too thick tasting for me, but I decided to trust the local/expert. I chose a sugar free coconut syrup and she suggested a splash of cream. I got a medium.. but incase. IT WAS DELICIOUS! I'm so glad we stopped there and I tried something new. Unfortunately, I was just passing through, so I am not likely to return -- but, I may have found a new coffee favorite. Ps- during covid, she wore a mask but payment wasn't contactless. The 4-stars is because of our wait all and all it was around 10 minutes, but she did make up for it with the sweet demeanor and conversation at the window. read more

We were in town for a soccer match and needed a cuppa joe to warm up. This a really cute space and clearly has a 'support your small town' vibe with lots of other small businesses represented inside. We didn't have time to stay but I liked their spread of board games for those who want to sip their coffee inside. If ever in the area again, we'll be back! read more

We stopped in here at the Tinderbox on a day spent in Aberdeen. What a cute and quaint shop, with friendly service and good tasting treats. We actually came here twice in as many days, because it was so good and they had such good customer service. The first day, we had just finished breakfast not long before, so we weren't that hungry; but how can you pass up a yummy beverage from a locally own coffee shop? Answer...you can't! My wife had a lemonade and I had a hot chocolate. She said the lemonade was good, but tasted like a mix. Kind of disappointing, but hey...it's a coffee house, so you can't expect too much in the way of lemonade. The hot chocolate was super good though and was definitely fresh and original. I got it with whipped cream (of course) and it came with little gold sugar flecks on top. That was a nice touch-something more special than just regular sugar. They had all the usual coffee and espresso drinks. I had already had my full of caffeine for the day, so I stayed clear of coffee (even decaf didn't do it for me at that time), but they smelled great. The next day we both had hot beverages again. I went for the Firestarter Blend (dark roast) and my wife had a Vanilla Rooibos Tea Latte. Both were amazing! The dark roast had a wonderful earthy and peaty aroma to it and tasted superb. The tea latte, according to my wife, was equally great and full of vanilla goodness. We also picked up a delicious cookie . . . chocolate chip, white chocolate chip, and marshmallow! Oh me, oh my! Other baked goods and some sandwiches rounded out the menu. Something for everyone. They had live music performing the first day during the late morning/early afternoon and posted for an open mic as well. Good events in a good cafe in the heart of downtown...a wonderful combination. It was busy both days and certainly felt like THE place to get your cup a' in Aberdeen! Be sure to stop in the Tinderbox for some good treats served and prepared by good people! read more

This coffee shop is easy walking distance from my home, so it's a place I love to visit with my dog--who's also welcome there, and they usually even have treats to offer her. The cafe has a lovely ambience, and it's a place I'd love to hang out in but haven't had the time/chance to do so yet. The coffee is fantastic, if a little pricey, but that seems the norm these days. There's usually at least one other customer working hard on his/her laptop when we happen by. read more

The latte I got from Tinderbox was amazing! I accepted the barista's recommendation to try a blackberry vanilla white coffee latte with coconut milk, and boy am I glad I did! Holy YUM! I did not expect blackberry coffee to be so awesome, but it suited the white coffee and coconut milk very well. It was delicious down to the last drop, perfectly proportioned for strong flavor without going overboard on the syrups. I really appreciate the time the barista spent kindly showing me ingredients and offering drink suggestions. This is such a good example of the role good employees play in creating an amazing coffee experience. Tinderbox Coffee Roaster Cafe was the best thing about my visit to Aberdeen. Would gladly come again if I find myself in the area again. Even if you're just passing through on the 101, it's an easy stop and very worth it. read more

One of my favorite stops anytime I come to the Harbor for a visit. Their coffee rivals roasts I sample in LA, and they know how to make great foam! They also have dairy alternatives like my personal favorite- Hemp milk! And...one of the best chocolate-chip-marshmallow-caramel cookies I've ever had. Also a great selection of loose-leaf teas for the tea-drinkers. If you're passing through to the beaches but need a coffee pit stop, this is the place! (They also now have a drive-through stand by McDonalds if you don't need to stretch your legs.) read more

One of the best coffee shops in this area. And their are many. They roast their own beans. Great flavor if you are looking for good real coffee. Also, their decaf is so good you can't even tell it's decaf. I buy it frequently to enjoy at home in the evenings. They also collaborate with other small businesses in neighboring towns (All Wrapped Up in Montesano and Brasshub in Cosmopolis) to provide good baked goods along with their coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker, though my husband did enjoy his. However, I am a huge tea drinker, with a special love for London Fogs (earl gray latte). This place had an absolutely amazing London Fog and I loved every sip! Great quality tea, well balanced with the amount of milk, and I had lavender syrup instead of the more traditional vanilla. One of my favorite lattes that I have had in a long time- will definitely stop in next time we are up the coast visiting family! read more
