Very good little coffee place. Probably the best in town, but I've only tried a couple. I got an iced americano with hazelnut and a little cream- coffee wasn't burned and had a great taste to it. Also for chai lovers...they have Big Train, which is a really yummy brand. They also have Seattle's Favorite muffin tops! And some breakfast sandwiches but I'm not sure how those are. This is a great little coffee joint in Westport. It is probably the best, meaning out of 3 places this takes number 1. They have a lot of drink and food options for a Lil' coffee booth. The beans are roasted well, and the drinks aren't too sweet. There is normally a long line when it is tourist season, so watch for that. The staff is friendly and very joy full in the AM. Like another reviewer, I too have high coffee standards. And the coffee choices in Westport are basically 1) bring your own. 2) "aged" over-priced drip coffee at one of the many cafes 3) coffee at one of the 3 or so espresso places. In other words, good coffee is few and far between. But along comes Captain Jack's... After failing to find my french press at home and forgetting coffee altogether for the drip maker, our beach vacation could have been plagued with glum moods and caffeine addiction headaches were it not for Captain Jack's off Montesano. As we came into town we missed it a few times, mostly because we were looking for a shop - not a stand. If you find yourself in the same predicament, look for the Red Apple market as you go north on Montesano towards "downtown." Once you see the Red Apple Market on the right, look for Captain Jack's Espresso on your left. In fact, it's oddly located near Phosphorescent, the modern-looking coffee Shop/Skate Shop/Comic Book Store (turns out it's out of business). The baristas were friendly enough and they made my drinks with care. I should also note that I saw one of them use hand sanitizer on my first visit (I'm a germaphobe so I really liked this). My drink of choice is a 2% one raw sugar latte. The 12oz is $3 and is one shot. The 16oz is $3.75 and 2 shots. At the time of this review I have consumed 7 total. All have been consistently good. And when I say "good" I really mean it. The weather can really get you down in Westport and it just makes your day better when you know GOOD coffee is within driving/walking/biking distance. Small side of the road shop. Popular with locals easy to access. The baristas were nice and gave warm smiles like there perfectly tempt mochas. They were quick and courteous. There's not a lot of espresso coffee specialty places in Westport and I am honestly glad we don't have Starbucks. Capt'n Jacks Espresso is a great small town business. Customer service is excellent and they were so nice. The location is perfect, its on the main road and where they are situated in the parking lot makes the flow of traffic easy to get in and out. Just got back from an amazing vacation in Westport, Washington and definitely need to give props to a couple places in town. Captain Jack's Espresso is one. We drove straight to Westport after being up since 3am for Black Friday and headed straight out to the beach to dig me some delicious razor clams and celebrated the weekend long into the night. Needless to say, by Saturday morning, needing coffee was an understatement. Much to my dismay, the only coffee available in our rental was Starbucks Via instant coffee. Yeah, definitely not gonna fly. So off to Yelp I went and took a walk down to this espresso stand. Being this far away from Seattle, I was prepared for a less-than-par espresso. Great baristas, my latte was good, but boyfriend's Dirty Debbie (heh) was phenomenal. As the boyfriend said "OMFG you gotta try this." It's an americano with raw sugar stirred in and topped with some orgasmic whipped cream (seriously, best whipped cream I've ever had) topped with a little more raw sugar. I repeat, best whipped cream EVAR. I licked the lid clean. If you're ever in visiting here and need some java, I would highly recommend this place, especially if you're staying in one of the condos run by Vacations By The Sea. It's literally a straight shot down the road 1 mile and back almost flat the entire way. A Dirty Debbie and a fresh sea breeze make for a perfect morning walk. read more

My coffee standards are high. Really high. Captain Jack's met every single one of them. My Sugar Free Vanilla Soy Latte's, yes I had more than one, were the perfect example of perfection. The make their coffee with love and passion and it comes across clearly in the final product. Everyone was super friendly, knowledgeable and just as excited as we were to be there. They even gave the Beagle a couple dog bones which his picky palette gobbled right up. Their menu was diverse and they had several drinks I've never heard of, which after working for Starbucks for 3 1/2 years is surprising. I can't wait to come back here the next time we're in town. What a great spot when we come to town! We've tried a few in the area and we aren't super discriminating, especially when out of town, but Captain Jack's is among a few to which we LOVE going. A friend and I went a couple months back and had what i call a complicated order...some Italian sodas for kiddos in the back who were having trouble deciding ;), my friend's go-to which I couldn't remember if I tried, and my tried and true triple Americano with cream. They didn't bat an eye and were so friendly, patient, and welcoming. This stand is easy to get to and lots of room for multiple cars to line up on either side of the stand which is also a plus. Traveling with friends who stay local often and they recommended captain jacks as the go to coffee joint. So happy we went here! The coffee and Italian sodas were delicious, priced right, and fast. The service was friendly and approachable. We've had issues at other coffee stands with bad attitudes towards travelers, so we were very happy to be greeted and treated so nicely. My husband and I decided to try this during our trip to Westport. I believe it's got 4 stars on yelp. We got an Americano because they don't have drip coffee and a latte. My Toyota Highlander has been a loyal friend for five crazy years but died in the coffee line at Captain Jacks a while back. No problem said the quick barrista, hopped out and grabbed cables from her truck and started me up. I thought it was amazing, plus the coffee was perfect. (Iced Americano, no sugar but half and half). The next time I pulled in, I could not believe it but the SUV died again, in line. I thought they had some weird wire but no, it was just a new battery needed. This time, the triple, sugar-free hazelnut latte helped me go get the new battery installed and so, today, just coffee, no drama and yes, a different lady gave the jump the second time and that day they had their tip jar stolen twice by some crazy. I've been here a few times when we are on vacation, the girls are usually pretty nice. We went there a couple days ago before we left and one of the girls was pretty rude. We had a car full of people but only 3 of us were getting coffee. My little sister went to order after my dad did and said what she wanted. The Girl working says in a super rude voice "Okay.... It really helps if you tell me what size drink so I don't have to keep asking for each order" Uhh lol really? My aunt owns a coffee shop and I've never heard someone get pissy over someone forgetting to say a size. Not to mention my sister is shy to begin with. Yeah deff no tip for her. Wish I could get her name. Next year ill be sure to ask for one of the nicer girls when I order love the coffee. read more
