I mean what a gem! It's hidden in south bend with spectacular views of the Willapa river. The coffee is delicious ( I tried the vanilla latte) and their avocado bagel takes things to the next level. The staff is friendly and helpful. They even have a small play area for the kids. If I ever pass by south bend again, I am definitely pit stopping here! read more

After leaving Long Beach, I wanted to stop somewhere for coffee. This was right on the way home. They have one bathroom and it's nice and clean. There was only one person working so it took a while to order and get our drinks. The service was friendly. We had iced lattes. They have oatmilk and charge extra depending on the size of your drink. It's super cute inside with a view of the water. It was a pretty hot day and there was no air conditioning. It would be nice to sit and sip coffee on a day that isn't hot. read more

Stopped at Elixir on our way down the coast for breakfast. We ordered the BLAT and Green Goblin sandwiches (as well as some decaf coffee, not pictured here). These sandwiches were delicious. There was something especially about the Green Goblin that I'm still thinking about days later -- a certain combo of pesto and mayo. The service was a bit slow as only one person was working, and they were definitely kept busy by patrons. The store was very cute -- I loved the decor and the views from the store over the water. The reviews were right. We stopped here after I saw the review talking about the avocado today. It was lovely. My partner had the Italian sandwich which was really flavorful. The bread on both was totally worth eating, full of seeds. They are doing a good job with distancing to keep things as safe as possible. We ate on the rustic deck over the Willipa River. Elixer Coffee is right off the 101 in South Bend and the perfect stop for friendly service, delicious food and a great view of the Willapa River. I had the Italian sandwich which was made on wheat bread and included tomato, pesto, rosemary and goat cheese. I added turkey and it made for one tasty sammy! Add in the relaxing view of the Willapa River and you've got the perfect stop if you're headed up or down the 101 on this part of the Washington coast. read more

When it comes to coffee, there aren't many options in the area so we weren't sure what to expect. However these folks serve up an excellent Americano - no bitterness, no weird citrusy flavor, just smooth coffee goodness. The food was pretty solid and the service was very friendly. The place is also aesthetically pleasing, with a cheerful decor and lovely view of the river. Highly recommend. read more

Perfect stop along our drive from the coast to Olympia. Small unassuming place with the best coffee & tea! Hubby had a double espresso & I had the house green tea & both were flavorful & nice & hot. I ordered the avocado toast which turned out to be quite the feast for the senses. Tons of avocado perfectly sliced & large succulent tomato slices topped with bee pollen & spices.....delicious! Hubby had the Italian sandwich & wolfed it down before I could even take a photo lol. He said the balance between meat, cheese & other ingredients was just right. I adore this café, and the family who own and operate it are very sweet and extra courteous. I moved to the area not long ago from Northern CA and was so excited to find this awesome spot that has fresh and healthy choices. The food is excellent! Love their Powerbowl Salad (pesto here is top-notch), avocado toast, and sandwiches. My only suggestion would be that their espresso drinks be made a little stronger. I have ordered lattes a few times from both the café and the Elixir Express drive-through location owned by the same family, but I haven't gotten the expected amount of caffeine kick, so I stick with their drip coffee now - which is good! The outdoor dining area at the café is large and the views are simply stunning. The design aesthetics and decor are beautifully inviting, and I look forward to safely being able to dine indoors there. Love giving my support to a quality, local family-owned business. And they are actually following Covid protocols, unlike many local businesses. To sum up: Great customer service, excellent food and beverages, pretty place with lovely cheer and ambience. This place was an amazing find (thanks fellow Yelpers!) The tea selection was great. I had a masala chai latte with coconut milk, and it was exactly what the doctor ordered for a chilly overcast morning. So delicious it didn't need a drop of sweetner...but if sweet is your thing, they even have local honey. My husband had a cup of coffee, which he said was also great. They didn't have any scones left, but offered to make some if we had 15 minutes to wait (needless to say, the service was really wonderful). They have a super comfy porch with a gorgeous view, so waiting was a pleasure...and it turned out well worth it because the black currant scones fresh out of the oven were incredible. I wish I had taken some pictures of the beautiful ceramic mugs they use or the delicious food...but I was so hungry I didn't think of it until we were almost done. :/ I did snap a few pics of the flowers and the view, which I'm sharing. Impressive little place! The Elixir shop is adorable inside and out, and the drink I tried was amazing. They offer several types of non-dairy milk so this is a great place if you can't digest cow. I prefer chai to coffee, and the "Harvest Chai" sounded so good, but unfortunately they were out. Big Train chai powder contains cow dairy, Oregon Chai isn't very good, and Stash tea bags are a thing I can make myself for cheap. So the chai situation made me sad. They said they make their own lavender syrup and suggested the honey lavender latte, so I ordered one with almond milk and only one shot of espresso instead of two because I don't really like black coffee. My hopes were pretty dashed but I really wanted some caffeine and the shop was just too cute not to order something. It turned out to be probably the best black coffee latte I've ever had! Normally I do mochas so my love of chocolate can counteract my dislike of black coffee, but the honey lavender latte was divine in its own right. Smooth, clean mouthfeel with very little bitterness, and the honey level was perfect for strong honey flavor without going overboard. The lavender made the drink floral, aromatic, and refreshing. It was awesome to the last drop. And $5.25 for a 12oz was worth it considering the extremely good quality. I'd love to come back to Elixir if I'm ever in the South Bend area again! Now that I know their espresso is uncommonly excellent, there are lots of other lattes and mochas I want to try. The shop also sells interesting things like soaps, candles, chapstick, etc. that would make great gifts. read more

While driving up to Washington, Elixer Coffee caught my eye! With everything closed due to the coronavirus, I was happy to see that they were still open for takeout. The woman working was one of the nicest and most welcoming person ever! She embodied the coffee shop and made us feel happy to be there :) I got a latte which was amazing, but the service is what made the experience. Loved this place. Stayed in South Bend to get some work done and was steps away from here. Coffee and grub were 10/10. The only downside was that I felt bad for the baristas - one employee for so many customers is rough! But the weekenders (on Sat and Sun) handled it like champs. Elixir is cute, bright, and clean inside with a beachy/hippie vibe that I loved. The service was great. The woman working there was very helpful and answered all of our questions with a smile. Found in the tiny town of South Bend my sister had little hope of finding coffee to match any she's addicted to at Starbucks, but she said that this tiny gem made a better latte than any she'd EVER had at Starbucks. The coffee was also much less expensive. It was so good that we had to return another day after going to Ocean Shores. The barista was so sweet that she even gave my sister a mini-lesson on how to do art work on top of the coffee. She also rinsed my sister's travel mug and prepared the latte in that.
