I went to Billy's for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon because a really, really wanted some pan fried oysters. When I arrived, I was lucky to have more than the oysters po'boy option I'd found online. I could get 8 oysters or double that. I went 8 and it came as a whole dinner with garlic mashed pototoes & mixed vegetables. Also, you had the choice of grilled or deep fried. Since I was craving pan fried, deep fried won. It was a delicious & filling meal. The oysters were fabulous and the mashed pototoes were very yummy. I ate it all: every last drop of spuds, gravy, carrots, beans & decorative lettuce leaf. The decor and staff were pretty cool our waitress was awesome but with the price of eating out now we were expecting good food and unfortunately that is not the case, the chicken fried steak is a frozen box steak and the sausages are too and yes a lot of places have frozen sausages but these were gross, if my husband wouldn't eat them that's saying something. We had just traveled up the Oregon coast and had a similar breakfast and theirs was all home made , got their sausage from a butcher not a box! I wanted a decent breakfast on the way back home to Bonney Lake from West Port. My husband and I did not want to go back to the only restaurant in town that served breakfast in West Port, so we decided to drive to Aberdeen to have our breakfast there. At first, my husband was apprehensive (Still) about the whole breakfast deal. He honestly underestimated the service until he sat down and received his food. Ok, Billy's is located in a historic old building in downtown Aberdeen. The restaurant is laid out perfectly with good spacious seating. The waitress was super friendly and happy to serve us our breakfast. She assured and re-assured us that we'd not have to wait for more than 1 hour for our food. I ordered chicken fried steak (because why not?); my kid had biscuit & gravy; and my husband got his omelet. Hello? This place has an interesting story. I did have to google it. It is named for a businessman/outlaw from the early years. It was a few different things (including a brothel,) before in the 80's becoming a restaurant and bar. The motto of the owners was good food done right, or something to that effect. The good food was right. The salads are enough to feed a small army. Even my coworker, who normally can eat a whole cow, had to take about half his salad back to the hotel. I got the Caesar add chicken but man did his chef salad look amazing. It looked so good I ordered one the next day for my lunch and had enough to eat for my dinner. They did not disappoint on the sizes. Our waitress was fantastic. She was super sweet even after one of our coworkers was an ass to her. The Reuben this summer was authentic real MEAT. Was so excited to try them again, we don't live here and it's on the way home. Ordered the Reuben it was lunch meat and processed cheese spread. What a huge disappointment. Only thing edible was the fries, those were great. Absolute crap!!! I'd take a picture but went to wash hands and plates were removed. Had lunch here with friends. Tables are close together and they are attached to the floor, we found out as we attempted to move things around. Friends had the blue bayou burger and the French dip which they both enjoyed, fries on the side. I had the beef melt which was on par with Denny's. It filled me up but didn't taste like much. The waitress kept our drinks full but she took away my plate while I was still eating. The service is casual and friendly; the food is tasty (and plenty of it) and the historic building takes you back in time. Note that the kids menu has authentic Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, which at first we thought was hilarious, but then quickly realized that giving kids what they want (and will eat) is job number one when paying for someone else to cook for your child. Sounds silly, but we really appreciated our boys gobbling up their lunch for once. The fish and chips were delicious, fried oyster po' boy was spot on, and the prime rib dip special with caramelized onions was to die for.
