You could tell Ryan enjoyed the food himself and helped peek our interest when describing the specials. Everything he named was excellent in taste. He checked on us regularly. While staying at Ocean Crest Hotel for a few days of clam digging, we hit up Ocean Crest Restaurant--and wow. First night, the food was great. Second night, the menu changed, but no worries--our server worked some magic with the chef and whipped up a dish exactly like what I was craving. It even tasted like something my guy makes at home with our clams... only fancier! The restaurant is gorgeous, perfectly respectful of its stunning setting, and big enough that you can actually talk to your lover without yelling across the table (rare these days!). The server? This restaurant is outstanding. The food is amazing! The exec chef is known as the Culinary Madman. He chatted with us at our table. I had the salmon with a lemon dill cream sauce and it was fabulous! I actually had it two nights in a row it was so good! It came with potatoes, which were very good but a bit skimpy the first night. They had different potatoes the 2nd night which were fabulous as well. I also had their harvest greens salad as I could not resist the wine poached cranberries. Dessert was also yummy. I had the cheesecake. We also sampled the crab toast as an appetizer and the crab pancakes. Loved them both. Ocean Crest Resort is a bit rundown but the restaurant almost makes up for it. This was my 2nd time in 5 yrs to stay there. One thing to be aware of is the cocktail menu said $15 for a cocktail and they charged us $18. We just left after eating dinner tonight. I'm still not sure how I feel yet. When we arrived, Lexi, the host couldn't find our reservation. I showed her that I called on Tuesday. She found that our reservation had been written down for next Saturday, even though I specifically said that we were celebrating Father's Day. Lexi found room for us in the bar. There was a very drunk guy at the bar that we had to listen to for the first half of our dinner. The prawn and crab pasta special was decadent, but the sea food platter was average to below average. The salmon tasted off. We really enjoyed our pre-dinner cocktail and the wine flights were really fun. We enjoyed the dessert of vanilla ice cream with the dark chocolate sauce. We had dinner at the Ocean Crest Restaurant on a Friday evening. Reservations are required and limited on the day of (only 5:30pm and 8pm were available, so I recommend booking ahead!) The food prices are high, but we traded that for convenience and the view. The clam chowder, rosemary bread, and cioppino were all great. The salad, for $14, was not fresh and small. My husband and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary here. We are extremely pleased with our experience here. To start I asked our server, Ryan, what they had for non alcoholic options. He recommended the no mojito. It was fantastic, tasted so good. My husband ordered the double rye Manhattan. We also started with the rosemary olive oil bread to hold us over while we figured out what we wanted to eat. Appetizers - we went with the locally grown mushroom special and the pork belly flatbread. Both are fantastic. Entrees - I had the Steelhead au Poivre with Maple and Balsamic Glazed Strawberries. My husband had the Five Spice Lamb Chops. He let me try a bite & we both agreed it was amazing. Our server recommended the gorgonzola scalloped potatoes over the rice, which we did. They were definitely a good choice. For desert we shared the marionberry cobbler. It was warm and topped with vanilla bean ice cream. We were so stuffed but it was so good we ate most of it. Whenever we are in town, we always come to the Ocean Crest Resort Restaurant for dinner. We had the pork belly salad and some crab artichoke dip toast for an appetizer. For dinner I got the special Oscar chicken and my husband got the steak and shrimp with Cajun sauce. The food was delicious super fresh and our service was fantastic. We had Kyle as a server and he was fantastic and made sure our date at the Ocean crest resort was perfect. For dessert but husband got the chocolate salt cake and he loved it. I had a bite. It was delicious. I have no complaints at all. I thought that the ambience was beautiful as we were right by the window and you could see the ocean through the trees and we were there right around sunset time so it was even more beautiful. The food is worth the price only if you decide to dine in. The view of the water is what you're paying for because the food itself is not worth it. We were staying at the resort and decided to enjoy it in our hotel room using the complimentary 15% off coupon we received. Since we did have our dog with us, we decided to order to go from the hotel restaurant as our room was right next to it. The food was a disappointment. For a place that supposedly have 5 stars, I was truly expecting something more. The pork belly mac and cheese was soupy and cheese sauce had little to no flavor. Went back to the restaurant just to get a refund for the mac and cheese because it was not worth the money. Even the waiters agreed that it looked gross and they wouldn't eat it either. The flat iron steak had an unusual huge amount of saffron on top as garnish and a ton of green onion. As for the taste of the steak, the sauce tasted like Yoshida's Original Marinade and that really was just the main flavor of the steak. Even with the 15% off coupon, it really just felt like a waste of our money and time. We ended up driving somewhere else to enjoy a nice decent fulfilling dinner. read more

My wife took me here for my birthday while we were visiting Seabrook. The view is spectacular and I can only imagine what it is like on a beautiful summer day/night (it was a very rainy day but could still enjoy watching the ocean waves). Our food overall was very good and the service was good too. We started with the crab toast which had a nice flavor but was definitely overpriced and we wouldn't get it again. My wife ordered the shrimp fettuccine which was tasty, shrimp cooked nicely. I went with the smoked beef stroganoff and let me tell you, this is NOT your mother in laws stroganoff! This was a flavor-bomb and I couldn't stop raving about it! Even google searched trying to find a similar recipe that evening with no luck. My stepson went with the pork tenderloin which was cooked perfectly and had a nice flavor, the veggies were a bit mushy though. Overall I had a nice dinner for my birthday. read more

We tend to eat at odd times of the day, which does often limit our options. That being said, are only options when walking into Ocean Crest on a weekday mid-afternoon were small plates. They showed us the menu and their seemed to be plenty of options. We ended up getting the claim pizza, crab toast and cajun prawns. All were great, but for the price I guess I would have hoped to have my mind blown, as our bill was over $100, which also included a cocktail and one additional beef terriyaki dish for my husband. Our server was great, and the view was phenomainal. Given that we were the only ones in the restaurnt we did get lots of attention. The dining room is very elegant, and seems to still have tables spaced so if you are worried about COVID this would be a good option. My one suggestion is please find a new playlist. This isn't the 70's, and unless you are in your 70's no one wants to listen to elevator music/Lawrence Welk style music. You might attract a different demographic by making slight changes to the music. read more

We loved the atmosphere, views, drinks, and service! The reason I'm doing 4 stars for two main reasons. 1. The crab-stuffed portobello mushroom was undercooked, and the stuffing had raw onions that ruined the stuffing in my opinion. The waitress did let the chef know so hopefully, that will help future guests. 2. Loved the bone in rib eye however, as seen in the image it was not just a cherry glaze but smothered in cherries, I feel the cherries overpowered this dish and could be dialed back quite a bit. One more suggestion is for the duck, the cherry glaze is good but it's missing a creamy sauce. Maybe a Bourbon cream Sauce would take it to that next level. This was the perfect date night spot with my husband. Tucked up the coastal cliffs on the Washington coast, this place is beaming with beauty. Our goal is to unlock the local Grays Harbor gems and this place did not disappoint. We made reservations in the lounge since the dining room was busy, which the seating was still comfy and quiet. Our server was the bartender and he was wonderful, attentive and knowledgeable. We ordered the sautéed mushrooms for an appetizers, prawn fettuccine (homemade fettuccine btw), seared duck, and ended our meal with their key lime pie. Every bite was perfect and savored until we were completely stuffed. The prices were well justified with the quality and portions. This is a place you look forward to. We also were fortunate to choose a stunning night with the most perfect view from Moclips. Yes, this it is a drive to get there (~30 mins north of Ocean Shores, ~25 mins west of Hoquiam) but plan accordingly to make this part of your WA coast. Make sure to make reservations. read more

This place is killing it! We stopped in on a recent overnighter and were expecting a decent meal after looking online, but man were we blown away! First of all, what a stunning view! We were very lucky to get a table next to the large window wall overlooking the beach below. We timed our reservation perfectly and the sun was setting during our dinner. The view here simply cannot be beat. The wait staff was amazing, very attentive and personable. Very professional. Okay, let's get to the food, shall we? We started out with the Pork Belly Flatbread. Simply amazing dish. For our mains, I had the Salmon au Poivre with Maple-Balsamic Glazed Strawberries and the wife went with another appetizer for a smaller plate, the Thai Teriyaki Steak Strips. It ended up being the perfect size for her. Both of these dishes were stunningly plated and tasted simply amazing. Everything cooked perfectly, clear down to the steak strips being cut with a fork. We capped it off with a couple slices of cheesecakes, which were both wonderful. Not overly sweet at all, even when topped with caramel and chocolate. It seems the cheesecake selection rotates, we got a Mounds cheesecake and a Macadamia Nut cheesecake. Your choices may be different. We returned for breakfast the next morning and I had the Smoked Salmon Benedict. What a great benedict! A generous amount of smoked salmon, a wonderful hollandaise. I will say the seafood is very fresh and prepared beautifully whether you are dining for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Reservations are a must as they have a tiny dining area and offer some of the best food in the area. On our first night Natalie was our server - we ordered a bunch of items to share to start and then I ordered the bbq prawns appetizer for dinner, but she thought I meant the dinner entree that had a bbq prawn description but was actually called something else. What I thought was going to be $15 for my dinner portion ended up being more like $35. I let her know at the end of the meal when the check came that it was incorrect and she didn't offer to make it right. To avoid further awkwardness at the table I told her it was no big deal - as the food was very good and I enjoyed it. At any other establishment the server would have owned up to their error and made it right or at least apologized. She did none of those things. For breakfast I had the dungeness crab pancakes and thought they were unique and a great way to start off the day. My friends shared a benedict and thought it was also very good. The ambiance of the space is very beautiful and natural and fits well in the setting perched high above the ocean. The view cannot be beat! read more

Fantastic food and great service. My husband and I split the clams as an appetizer, which was a special for the evening. They were delicious! I ordered the lamb for my main course. Although I ordered medium rare, it came out well done (extremely understandable considering how busy they were). I felt so bad sending it back, but our server was as nice as could be. She brought a new plate super quickly, and it was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the beef tenderloin--another special--which was fantastic. All in all a wonderful dinner. Due to the overcrowded Ocean Shores dining options Saturday and our fond memories of our clam chowder and the awesome view, we decided to come back Sunday and brought our parents. We had a great experience from beginning to ending. We are really glad to have decided to try their desserts. They had us at "made in-house". The crab eggs Benedict was perfectly cooked, hubby said his turkey bacon on sourdough was great. My Monte Cresto was terrific too. I asked for the smoked salmon on the side since I was leary of how it might taste together. We all snacked on it. So to share what I've learned, I've gone from thinking it was more expensive than I wanted to spend, to spending more time waiting on a table for overrated food in OS, that we all decided to come back here. When you go to the ocean during the off season, you tend to lower your expectations. If you go to the Ocean Crest Resort, don't even try!! Extensive drink menu, phenomenal service from Kyle, and too many choices to go wrong. I had the duck breast and wife had the pork belly salad. Both were great. The chowder intrigued me as I love chowder and apparently Apollo Ono loves it. Great. Not really good; great. Creme brulle that is fired tableside and a key lime pie that is the best I've had.
