The views are gorgeous. They're also what you're paying for because it sure isn't the food. We last dined here in 2015, and everything was delicious and memorable, a true, destination dining experience. We were so excited to finally come back, but sadly, the food was a complete letdown. It's a beautiful location, and lovely ambience. Our server and all the front of house people were kind and professional, and the cocktails were very good. But...the food. We started with crab toast. It was okay, not great, but there was so much leftover dry toast after you ate the little bit of crab that for the most part it was just unappealing. My friend had Chicken Parmesan - one of the specials. It was literally a hunk of breaded chicken with basic pasta sauce that tasted like it came from the grocery store. The noodles, though made in house, were on the dry side, and simply tossed in oil and garlic, presumably to let the chicken be the star, except the chicken wasn't up to the task. There were no veggies, either, just the same dry toast that came with the crab. $36 for chicken, noodles and toast that wasn't any better than a mediocre chain restaurant. I'd hate to have paid the non-special price! We so wanted it to be special, like it used to be, so that after you got the hefty bill, at least you had memories of a really great meal, but the kitchen seems to have taken a wrong turn somewhere in recent years. We decided to make reservations for this place because we were staying in the hotel.... And there is no other food for miles. Reviews looked good, menu looked good. Definitely looked pricey but worth a shot. Decided to make a reservation time to match the sunset. 8 tables in the dining room, 4 of which are against the glass. 2 tables were occupied and we were seated away from the window. Granted, all tables have a view of the ocean. Menus were dropped and didn't match what was on the website. No big deal. Our server was friendly and accommodating to our 3 year old and made her feel just as important as the adults. Wine list was pushed a little too hard... obvious pregnant woman, a recovering alcoholic and a toddler. Again, no big deal just something I noticed. Once we turned down the alcohol, the focus for drinks was dropped. No offer for anything non alcoholic. Had they offered a fun "mocktail" or lemonade, we might have went that direction. No, it's was water only. Again, no big deal... we didn't ask. But, gotta make money somehow. Server read the specials and gave us some time. We decided on the chowder and focaccia to start. Wife got the "cioppino", I ordered the special "clams and linguine" and my daughter ordered the kids "smoked Gouda Mac" and cheese. Our server offered to split the chowder into two bowls because we were sharing. When it came out there was a third little bowl as well for my daughter. Big points, she may be tiny but is just as important to us as to you (the business). Chowder was amazing. It had a floral note that I couldn't quite pinpoint. Definitely a great start to our dinner. Only downside to splitting the soup is that now 8oz turns into 3oz 3oz and 2.... Still delicious. The focaccia was not fresh what so ever. Had great flavor but felt like warm cardboard. Couldn't even get it to soften up when dunked into the chowder. Being that reservations are required, you have a sense of how much food you need to prepare before service, having dry stale bread is unacceptable. Plates were cleared to make way for our entrees. While we waited, a table across from us had finished up and left. That's when one of the employees brought out this massive spray bottle and tried to kill all the Covid in the world with the amount of chemicals he was spraying onto the table. I get that safety is key in 2022 but there are safer ways to wipe tables in the middle of a dining room full of people eating. Dinner came out. Daughters Mac n cheese had a great quantity for the 12 dollars. Wife's cioppino had a odd oil slick on it. Prawns, fish and mussels aren't something that puts off that much oil. Someone got heavy handed while prepping. What was incredibly off putting was the color of the seafood. Grey... grey prawns, grey salmon and grey cod.... It tasted safe to eat. I tried first just to make sure because of her being 7 months pregnant. The entire dish had great flavor and texture, but just off putting that any seafood would ever be grey. It was super thick like chili. No so much seafood stew like. My daughters dinner of "smoked Gouda" was a bluff. Absolutely no "smoked" about it. Maybe Gouda in the bechemel but not smoked. It tasted like Mac and chz and she didn't mind it. Perfect. My Clam fettuccine Alfredo with Manila clams and fresh made pasta.......... It's my dish so I get the be the pickiest. It had great flavor. Worthy enough to dunk the (non-stale) bread and soak up the sauce. But 15 years as a chef has taught me a few things. Fresh made pasta was grainy and didn't hold up too well. Overcooked. What makes me the most upset if the clams. We are 500 feet from the ocean and they are serving clams that are not only not local but not even from the same state. Very disappointed. My daughter loved them though and I was happy to share with her. Good flavor but they could do better... Dinner was completed and we ordered the crème brûlée prepared table side... a flat plate with chocolate and caramel was set on the table with a beautiful display..... it was fun to watch the table side presentation. Once the sugar was caramelized the dish was placed on top of this caramel and the chocolate. Why? Now 75% of this is unusable. Doesn't really make sense. The desert was delicious, could have ordered two. It was that good. The house made caramel was awesome and the house made chocolate was grainy. Overcooked. All in all, the meal was ok. Service was ok, flavors ok, and over priced l. Probably wouldn't try again, I'd rather drive the 20 miles into ocean shores. Times are tough, I get it. Food costs a lot to order and everything is out of Wack in the world. They are doing the best they can. read more

The clowns at this resort have decided to close their wonderful on-site restaurant for both breakfast and lunch and only serve dinner from 4-8pm Tues-Sat?! Given the resort is quite out of the way and near restaurant-less Moclips, I'm wondering what the OCR mgmt. is thinking and where they expect folks to get something to eat. Oh wait, I guess folks can trek south to Seabrook and try to patronize the few eateries there although they'll be competing with the 80% air B-n-B'ers there at Seabrook! A very stupid and lopsided position on the part of the OCR and a now crappy reality for thier basically captive audience. My wife and I formerly enjoyed many a lunch there and will no longer have that option although we have $150 in gift certs to now use for jacked up dinner prices! We ordered breakfast here and it was ehhhh. Just okay. I had ordered the crab Benedict with no English muffin because I am gluten free. When we received our order it had the English muffin on it. My husband ordered the classic Benedict and he wasn't very impressed. The breakfast potatoes were under seasoned. $28 for the crab benedict that had a tiny portion of crab on each one. My Girls/Grands and I enjoyed Mom's Day breakfasts here. Anthony was a great server and the view was epic. I was kind of disappointed that there wasn't a small children's menu. Didn't have to be much. Pancakes would have been just awesome as an option. It's just odd that a restaurant would have Mother's Day and not have a child's menu. So my Grands ordered from an adult menu. One of them ordered the fruit dish because there's nothing to his liking. He did however did love love his OJ. So fresh and so good..... coffee was excellent as well. I can only comment for the breakfast that I had and I had the Shrimp Benny. It was great but the hollandaise sauce was a bit bland. The potatoes were some of the best I have had. Such a simple thing turned amazing! It has been a dream of mine for the last 35 years of driving by to Dine here one day. I cannot wait to do it again. I was a little blown away by our meal. We went for dinner, wasn't expecting a whole lot, the lamb was just superb. The mint sauce a little sweet for our taste, but just a little, Calamari was very good to start, my wife had a chocolate and ice cream dessert, I thought she was going to roll around in it, she said it was spectacular. My husband and I decided to give this place a try for our 31st wedding anniversary. I made reservations for 5:15. We were seated quickly by the window which had a beautiful view. Our server was Rhonda and she was absolutely amazing! I love when a server has a warm smile. We ordered two drinks from the bar, an old fashioned and a glass of Merlot. My old fashioned was ok and wouldn't order that one again. We ordered the crab bread which was good (wish it was a bigger serving). Our main entrees were the crab and prawn fettuccine & the smoked beef stroganoff fettuccine. My husband loved the smoked beef but I was a tad bit disappointed with my dish, it was good but the crab was a practically non existent and for $54, it wasn't worth it. For dessert we tried the key lime pie. It was very creamy and refreshing. They comped the pie for our anniversary which was very nice!! Overall our visit and meal were amazing and we will visit again (but I'll pass on the crab & prawn fettuccine). read more

My wife took me to Ocean Crest Restaurant for my birthday dinner, taking a chance because we had not dined there before. We are foodies... no other way to say it and we have eaten at many World Class restaurants (Tom Coliccio's Craft Steak, Emeril's Delmonico, Bradley Ogden, Raos (The Las Vegas offshoot of Harlem's World famous Italian restaurant), Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill, etc..). We only have had a few good fine dining experiences in Western Washington which includes, Ruth's Criss steakhouse, Tom Douglas' Lola and the Palace Kitchen, The Metropolitan Grill and Belltown's Assagio (Mauro Golmarvi's fine Italian restaurant). After moving to the Ocean Shores area, we have tried to find at least one restaurant of this caliber and up until now have failed. There are a couple of newer restaurants that have talented chefs, but they have inconsistent dishes and need to work on their flavor profiles. The problem with both is minor preparation errors and seasoning issues. There was none of that at Ocean Crest! We were greeted promptly at the reservation desk and taken to a table with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and a spectacular sunset. Our waiter, Sam, was professional and welcoming. He had a perfect grasp of how to properly serve a nice dinner and the timing of each course was spot on. He had a very pleasant demeanor, a light, dry sense of humor and checked on us regularly to be sure we were happy. The chef also made a couple of visits to the dining area to be sure that all of the guests were pleased with his fare. Every aspect of the service was performed with care and professionalism. Every bit as good as any restaurant we have enjoyed. The food was perfect in every way as well. We shared the Rosemary Olive oil bread, my wife had a mixed green salad and I had to try their famous clam chowder. All three of these dishes were very good. The clam chowder is by far the best traditional version I have had in the area. The flavor profile was spot on and the clams were flavorful and tender. For entrees, my wife had the Flatiron Steak and I had the SeaFood Fettuccine (because the place is famous for it). My wife raved about the steak and all of the components of her dish. She insisted on taking what she was too full to eat (saving room for dessert) home in a to go box. She never does this because she doesn't like leftovers... she said "this is so good that I will eat it as a leftover." High praise indeed!! My seafood fettuccine was unbelievably prepared to perfection. House made noodles, cooked perfectly with an awesome toothy bite to it. Each seafood ingredient maintained it's texture and flavor in it's own right. This is something that I have not experienced often. Usually the flavors muddle a bit in this type of dish, but here each component maintained it's individual integrity. Simply wonderful. Hey... I'm really picky and pride myself in having a good palate. I can usually pick apart a dish if it's lacking in any way. Everything at Ocean Crest was in exquisite balance and expertly prepared. Dessert!! Yes, we managed to eat dessert as well. My wife had the Crème Brûlée and I had the Blackberry Cobbler ala mode. My wife is a total snob about Crème Brûlée and she said this was the best she has ever had. Sam, our waiter, brûléed it tableside perfectly to my wife's desired level of darkness. She was very happy with the custard and the Brûlée topping. My blackberry cobbler and the artisan vanilla ice cream were fantastic as well. The blackberries were fresh, flavorful and delicious. I highly recommend Ocean Crest Restaurant and look forward to trying more dishes on their menu. It was a perfect restaurant experience!! read more

If I could give 3 and 1/2 stars I would but I gave 4 as they had a great wine list. I came here for lunch with husband and 2 sons (ages 16 and 19). Beautiful views of the ocean without a doubt. Lunch was ok - we ordered the clam chowder which was good tasting but more about presentation. A little chowder in a big bowl. No bread, roll, crackers or oyster crackers. My husband and boys had the burger with cheddar cheese and bacon and all said it was great. Their side was cole slaw that was very plain and needed salt and pepper. It would have been nice to have sweet potato fries or another side to choose from. The burgers in appearance had nice size patty, one piece of butter lettuce and 2 slices of Roma tomatoes. The Roma tomatoes were out of place. A slice of beefsteak tomatoes or heirloom tomato would have been more fitting. Also included a pickle slice. Each Burger was $15. I ordered thai chicken sandwich served with same cole slaw as the burgers. Thin piece of chicken breaded in pink with cilantro. A few carrot pieces one piece of butter lettuce and a tiny amount of pickled purple onions. More onions and cilantro would have been more tasty. Needed to ask for chili sauce that was missing from sandwich but included in description on menu. Overall it is a nice scenic drive to dine here. Plenty of parking. We will give the dinner s try sometime soon. read more

This place blew us away in quality and preparation of food and for the service, and atmosphere. We weren't expecting much when we parked outside the resort but we're pleasantly surprised once we got to the restaurant portion. The view of the beach through the trees was stunning. We were celebrating my birthday with a 2 and a half year old with us so eating out at nicer places can be a little tricky. They had a kids menu which was great. The little got a plate of buttered noodles which were made in house and which he loved. We got the Chanterelle mushrooms in white wine which were divine and a side salad which was light and fresh. Husband got the Halibut which tasted fresh a delicious and I had the most amazing duck breast. The only bummer was that they didn't have their liquor license yet because the restaurant had recovery sold but overall it was one of the best meals I've ever had. read more

Although the breakfast presentation looked DELICIOUS it actually was VERY disappointing. Our potatoes were cold. The hollandaise sauce was bland on my Eggs Benedict. The pork belly in my husband's omelet was pure fat. Our waitress had zero personality. I always try an find a positive in a negative, so with that I'll say the Citrus Vanilla French Toast was DELICIOUS! I ordered hot tea with 2 tea bags, they charged me $4 for EACH tea bag (I chose Orange Blossom which was disappointing as well), I've NEVER experienced an issue like this in my life! I have no issue paying high prices as long as the meal quality is up to par and I consider myself a VERY good tipper, since I personally have been a restuarant manager, but I only left a $5 tip for a $65 bill. Overall I would not go back to this restuarant, and I'm canceling our dinner reservations for tomorrow night . I gave 2 star review because the view from restaurant is beautiful. read more

My wife and I spent Saturday night at the hotel and had lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. It's a little on the pricey side, but everything was incredible. I had the dungeness crab omelette and that was the most tender and delicious crab and breakfast I have ever had in my life. All meals were fantastic and the service was phenomenal. The chef stopped by a number of times during dinner and visited with all off the patrons. Really, this is a hidden gem in the northwest, with beautiful views of the ocean. Despite best of intentions with an upscale menu, the kitchen simply did not deliver. I had halibut cheeks that were actually unpleasant due to the salt level, and I like salt! My wife had the prawns which had a sauce that was thick heavy and strong enough to completely overwhelm the prawns. They went unfinished. This is a bit pricey restaurant which is fine for the location but which needs to deliver at that price point. This is the second time out of our last three trips to the ocean that the food disappointed. We went into Ocean Shores the following night and were much more pleased. Second time we have been to this place when we have visited Seabrook and we really like it. It's perfect for a nice quiet, romantic dinner or a casual lunch with a friend. They have about 6-8 tables with a gorgeous water front view. They accept reservations and I recommend making one to ensure you get one of those water view tables. They have a super cute little gift shop where you can buy art, ornaments, figurines, gifts, etc. Food was delicious, again. They have a great wine selection and a varied menu with a lot of starters. We had: Crab dip. This was good but could have been cooked a bit longer. There were crunchy bits of veg that if cooked longer would have been soft and much better. Seafood Fettuccine: this was really good. Seafood tasted fresh. Large portion with garlic bread. Chicken Piccata: this was so delicious but my favorite part of the meal was the spaghetti squash that came with it. It was DEVINE! I ate every last bite even though I was full. It tasted like sage/brown butter. Omg! I can't stop thinking about that yummy flavor! It also came with wild rice. Marion-berry Cobbler: I wasn't a fan of the biscuit/cobbler part of my dessert. It was very doughy and didn't really have a flavor so I picked around it and just ate the Marion berry sauce with the ice cream it was served with. That was yummy! read more

What an amazing experience and delicious dinner! My kids brought me here for my 61st birthday on September 5, and it was a perfect night. Our waitress was attentive and kind. I had the wine flight with one white and two reds, each one had it's own bold flavors. I also had the halibut with huckleberry teriyaki sauce, saffron rice and roasted vegetables, every bite was delicious and completely satisfying. For dessert I had the coconut macadamia nut cheesecake with mango sauce, it was delicious! The kids both enjoyed theirs too, one had the elk fillet and the captain's plate, as well as cream brûlée and chocolate silk flourless cake, we all left very happy and satisfied a complete dining experience! Great meal and service! This was our first time to Moclips and we wanted to have a special meal to celebrate our anniversary. We shared a delicious clam appetizer followed by an incredible meal. I had the halibut special and spouse had the Captain's plate; a variety of seafood coated with panko. I had the wild rice pilaf and spouse had the roasted red potatoes. The grilled veggies were also tasty. I can't recall the name of the dessert we shared, but it consisted of a bowl with two scoops of vanilla ice cream and a separate bowl of warm fudge sauce with a smooth texture. It was a toss up between that our the key lime pie. I wish I could provide a better description but it was a great way to end a great meal. Our server Kyle gave us exceptional service. Went for dinner and we were turned away. The lady gave us an attitude. Walking up to us saying No No No and said we needed an reservation for 6 people. Didn't know we did anything to get a lecture from her. According to her any party over 5 required a reservation. We had 4 adults and 2 kids. Guess we were over the limit by 1? We were guests of the hotel this weekend and I was absolutely drooling thinking of the delicious looking menu options for breakfast. We arrived around 9:30 and an older male told us the wait would be 30 minutes but didn't offer to write our names down. We found someone else to write our names down. We were later seated by the only polite and smiling person in the entire restaurant, a young brunette hostess, and thankfully she brought us coffee and water. This was the only smile or decency we experienced at this restaurant. We perused our menus, enjoyed the view, and waited. And waited. And waited. There were two waitresses working and neither would make eye contact with us. One came refilling coffee for tables and I actually put my empty cup at the edge of the table and she completely ignored us. 30 minutes after being seated and both servers refusing to acknowledge our existence, we left. We left muttering angrily and the male who earlier wouldn't write our names down and appeared to be in management--he didn't even ask why. The morning rush was over, there were vacant tables and no waiting, and not a word, not a glance, no acknowledgement of two humans that looked like all the other humans in there were sitting waiting to be fed. As someone who was raised by a restaurant owner and manager, I can't remember being this pissed off. This is a serious failure. If the kitchen was backed up or had a problem, it wouldn't kill someone to say "hello", check on my coffee, you know, treat us like customers? I was iffy about returning to the hotel, but was leaning on doing so. After the experience at the restaurant, it's a solid "no". Having to drive to freaking Aberdeen for coffee and a meal (because all the bakeries and what not nearby are closed on Sundays) really spoiled the experience at Ocean Crest. read more
