The first time I tried this place was their food truck. I ordered their curry, the egg rolls, & their Thai tea. I would say it wasn't cheap but I would say their egg rolls were really great. I recommend those. I finally went to try their actual restaurant. I did order the egg rolls again, didn't disappoint still was good. The Thai tea was good. However I ordered the beef pho and I was super disappointed. Broth was way too sweet, didn't taste good. I wouldn't order the pho at all. Also, I would like to point out the restaurant was clean however I would suggest they check their sauces they have at the table. The sriracha that was at our table looked real funky. read more

No doubt the open mic night (Thursday) and karaoke nights (Friday and Saturday) Lunch specials are smaller sized so if you are hungry you will want to order off main menu. They gave us a sample of their yellow curry which was really yummy. I have had fried shrimp and fries to go along with a bahn mi and teriyaki other times. Not fond of their bahn mi, but the rest were made well. They gave me a sample of their curry after I explained I can't handle spice. They said it wasn't that spicy. After the sample, my lips were burning. Really friendly people working here. After a cold challenging day of clam digging we were hungry for anything. We ordered the Massaman curry, pho, Pad Thai, teriyaki salmon and fried chicken wings. The curry was very flavorful with a lot of depth added by the coconut milk and enough heat to warm us up. We ordered a ton of the menu and I can say it was all below average. Poor presentation, lack of flavor, spices, seasoning. We ordered two orders of fresh spring rolls (worst I've had bland with lack of herbs, lack of protein). The pad Thai again lacking the usual flavor profiles and vegetables, and herbs. Two large chicken Pho again much more bland than most Pho places. Stir fried rice was as white rice as you can get with mixed veg, pieces of egg and zero seasoning again. The garlic chicken seemed like pre cooked chicken with sauce on it, a side of white rice and a coleslaw. The worst part was the food being over priced. Semi local and won't be returning. I really wanted this place to be awesome! However, like others state it is just too bland, lacking flavor. I'm not talking spicy, but rather just a lack of flavor. We had two pad Thai (chicken and tofu). We also had a chicken teriyaki. Unlike the other place in town that has pad Thai, this is 100% edible. Just lacking any depth. The chicken teriyaki was good and did have flavor, just wish it was richer. The restaurant was really clean, looks nice (especially in comparison to others down here). The staff are what put this from a three star review to a four. They are really nice. I hope they read this and try to make an adjustment to either add more sauce or something to enhance the flavor. read more

We had never tried Cambodian food before, and we were very curious when we saw Hot Mama's on a recent trip. It is a mom and pop owned business, which I love. We asked the husband, who is an American (and veteran) to recommend some Cambodian dishes, but unfortunately there are not a lot of Cambodian dishes on the menu as it is very friendly to the average palate. They have popular Asian dishes on the menu like pho, pad Thai and teriyaki. We tried some of the recommended dishes: the spring rolls, pad Thai, garlic chicken and lemongrass green beans. We normally order one star at Thai restaurants and specified mild for all of the dishes, but the spice level is hotter at this restaurant than we are used to. The customer service was great, and the food all freshly prepared with care. Just spicier than we are used to. Otherwise a very friendly family-owned establishment. read more

I really wanted to like this place. We need good restaurants in Ocean Shores and my wife and I really like Asian food. We were very bummed when the old restaurant closed so were excited to try the new one. Upon walking in there was only one other person dining and no staff to be seen. So we seated ourselves and waited. After 10 minutes, still no staff so I wandered up to the front counter and saw menus, so grabbed a couple. Not long after, a lady appeared to take our drink order. I wanted beer but she was having distribution issues and only had a couple choices, none of which were my favorite. However I picked one and she also took our order. Garlic chicken for me and curry for my wife. After a reasonable time, our order arrived. It looked great (and this was the last time we saw our server until I went to the front counter to pay). Unfortunately the flavors just weren't there. The vegetables in the curry were cooked to mush and the chicken had no sauce or unbelievably no flavor. I still ate it all but my wife barely touched hers. And we talked about coming back to try other items just in case this was a one-off. Before we left, another couple had come in and ordered 3 plates of food. So we walked over to them and asked how they liked it. They both said they won't be back. Flavorless was the best description they gave. Upon arriving home, my wife took her leftovers out of the car and put them in the trash. She said she'd never eat it again anyway and our trip to that restaurant was a one-and-done. read more

Went twice on our visit to OS, had the beef Pho, spring rolls, shrimp and fries and the chicken chow mein. Pho was very flavorful and filling, two of us shared the take out, the spring rolls were BOMB with a delicious peanut sauce and were so fresh with the bean sprouts and noodles. Fried prawns were perfectly cooked and the fries were very tasty. Chow mein was tasty and fresh, but less "noodly" than we like (the Viet Ho chow mein is hard to beat) My sister tried the wings and eggrolls from the food truck and said they were excellent. The food was pretty mediocre/adequate except for the egg roll with the human hair in it. The service was adequate. The ambiance was tourist-beach style. Amusingly at the time of our meal, the wall hanging seemed to sum up what I assumed the attitude here "...over worked? Job suck?...well here's a pill for you: Fukitol 1000mg". Just happened to drive by this place and we are so glad we stopped for dinner. The larb salad was very good and just the right amount of spicy! The fried rice was different than what you usually see, which might be because of the way the Cambodian owner makes it but was also excellent. The egg rolls were very crispy and tasty as well.
