Ok......so let me start off with saying I love Thai. I'll get Phad Thai with chicken to check out any new place. That said, I've eaten it ordered from ladies squatting next to rocket stoves on the street...and I want my Thai properly spiced, like my eyelids oughta sweat. American Thai food is adjusted to our tastebuds. So, I typically get it as hot as I can, and add my own chili dust. Folks, I have met my new go-to Thai! They offer spice levels one through five. I ordered it a six. The server told me she could adjust it up to a nine spice level, if I needed that. Um, no ma'am! Six is delightful! Phad Thai tends to accentuate the savory and sweet in most presentations. Not so, this savory, crunchy, tart, and fiery masterclass in Thai noodles! It was incredible. I cannot wait to go back and put myself at the mercy of their amazing presentations of what many will visually recognize as "Thai"......but your tastebuds are in for a treat! This is a destination food truck, people! Wow. I decided, on the strength of the Phad Thai, I should taste the Thom Kha Gai I ordered before I chilled it for my intended lunch tomorrow...... Yeah, so Dee Dee has spice DOWN! Her food also has the delightful flavor layering I love most in really good SE Asian food. The mushrooms in the soup? Buttery, and perfectly cooked. A delightful springiness. The tomatoes are bright and soft. The onions still have body, and onion flavor........and there's a lot of lemongrass and galangal floating around in there! Like the other entree, the Thom Kha is super special. I'm so glad this is a local option for me......my belly has a delightful burn, my lips are only slightly numb, and I'm really content with my Thai tea and mango juice. Amazing Food! We got the potstickers and the chicken pad Thai. The potstickers were juicy, soft with a little crunch, the cilantro and green onion toppings were amazing ! The pad Thai was also 10/10, we got level 5 spicy and it was the perfect amount of spice! And to top it all off, the owners were SO sweet and kind. I would definitely come back! read more

I finally had a chance to try out DeeDee's Thai food truck in Astoria, Oregon. I've been eye balling the trucks in this little corner across from the Portway for a while, and was finally able to actually stop and try some food! The outdoor seating is limited, but the tables were clean. Being next to a busy highway was noisy, but that's to be expected. The menu had some good choices, so I decided on the Yakisoba noodles. Unfortunately she was out of the egg noodles, so I agreed with a rice noodle substitution. The gal, whom I am assuming was DeeDee, was sweet, pleasant and attentive. The order was done very quickly, and it smelled heavenly. I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed with the portion size. Considering it was $13.00, plus a few extra for a tip, I thought the portion was definitely lacking. Plus, the rice noodles were so thin and tiny, a few extra would have been wonderful, or next time use a bigger, thicker glass noodle. The bowl had green and red peppers, onions, broccoli, carrots and chicken. It was tasty for sure. Not a "typical" teriyaki, being incredibly "soupy" and hard to eat with the plastic fork (my shirt got the brunt of it! ). But then again it's Thai, not Japanese. It was flavorful. Just not substantial, and I actually left still feeling a bit hungry. I'm willing to give it another try, but I'll not order the teriyaki again. Maybe this will be an opportunity to find a new favorite! I would be happy if that could happen. I would like this place to succeed. read more

So I was driving Astoria exploring the coast and was feeling hungry when I spotted a few food trucks, and that's when I found this place. I had never had Thai food before and so I decided to give it a shot and I have no regrets! The owner was working the window and she was very nice when taking my order, which was fast and efficient and the menu on the outside was very easy to read. Unfortantley the lot was rather small so there weren't very many tables to sit at, well only 2 tables to be exact. So unless you come before there's people expect to eat in your car. The food took about 10-15 minutes to come out everything was packed up very neatly. I ordered the Beef Larb and the Thai BBQ Chicken. I ordered them both with a spiciness level of 3, which there are 5 levels of, 1-5. The beef larb was nice and spicy and it paired really well, it was paired with a bunch of steamed vegetables and a few diced peppers really bring out the flavor of the beef. Sticky white rice was given with both meals and as you can expect it tasted like white rice, which is great. The Thai BBQ chicken was also amazing! Im not sure if it's called BBQ because its cooked in a BBQ way because there's definitely no BBQ on it, and it was way more similar to curry if anything but maybe it's just a Thai thing? Regardless it was great, the chicken was soft, tender, and juicy and the creamy sauce covering the chicken was delicious and went incredibly well with the rice, my only complaint would be the lack of spice compared to the beef larb. Overall the experience was great both culinary and service wise, so if you're in the area and want some Thai food I heavily recommend this place! Super Thai food truck! Pad Kee Mao is full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The learn was so delicious I had pork one visit and beef the next. If you like spicy, be sure to request extra spicy because hot is just barely warm. The lady who runs it is extremely friendly and kind. Ordering on site is easy; they give you a beeper so you can wait in your rig if it's raining. Online ordering went without a hitch with alerts for almost ready and ready. read more

A very pleasant surprise!! First time going to DeeDee Thai. Ordered the Tofu Pineapple Fried Rice, Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice, Shrimp Vegetable Rolls and Pad Thai for a take away lunch with friends. Everyone was happy with what they got and reports were all "Delicious". When you order, spice level is 1-5. 1 is no spice and 5 I assume must be death by fire. I got the fried rices with 1 for spice level. I could feel it on the corners of my mouth. DeeDee and Travis are very nice and carry on a good conversation and sense of humor. The Food Cart is clean as well as the area around it. Finally, I liked DeeDee's appreciation of classic cars. She showed me a picture of her '50's pickup truck and she liked my classic '86 Suzuki Samurai. :-). Well done guys!! Oh yes, we will be back!!! :-) read more
