Seafood platter: 2 pieces of cod, shrimp, clamp strips and fries. Tasted great.
Sheri H.

Had dinner here with a friend and would definitely be back. I had a platter with two pieces of fish, shrimp, clam strips and fries. I like the batter on the fish they used. My friend had a burger, and she enjoyed it. Friendly, patient waitress/server and she corrected an error quickly with no issues. There is a lot more seating than one would think just by viewing the front of the building. I drove past this place a million times and when I finally came here, I was surprised by how spacious it is. There's a bar in front and then two dining rooms. Also, there's more parking available behind the building. Enter on the right-side of the building.

Pasta with garlic cream sauce + chicken

I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt like this place deserved it. I stopped in for a to-go order and had the garlic cream pasta with chicken, and it was packed with flavor. The chicken itself was a little on the plain side, but honestly, the sauce made up for it--it had a lot of depth and didn't feel overly salty or heavy. Overall, it was a 10/10 dish, and I'd definitely eat here again. I also had the chance to chat with (I believe) the owner while I was waiting, and he was so genuine and kind. He let me know they didn't have crab at the moment because of a tough season and rising market prices--which I appreciated the honesty about. It made me respect the place even more. You can tell he really cares about what he's doing. I'll definitely be back when crab is back in season--looking forward to trying their crab garlic cream pasta next time!

Nice ambiance and music, clean. We stopped in for lunch to try a new place, since Bennett's lacked parking due to construction. The fish shaped plates are fun! We ordered clam chowder, fish & chips, clamp strips and shrimp. The food was good and the chowder had lots of clams. ++ Too bad the tartar sauce, cocktail sauce and ketchup were nearly tasteless. Such good food should have great sauces. The fries are slender and we asked for crispy, but they were barely passing. -- The prices are nearly the same as Bennett's. It would have been better if there was also a veg, like coleslaw. The server was friendly and attentive and our drinks and food were served promptly and hot. Overall, a good expeience.

Halibut and chips, so good!

Best fried halibut ever! The service was prompt and friendly, and loved the fish and chips. The tartar wasnt sweet, IFYKYK.

Was looking for fresh oysters and a Yelp search identified Mike's. Supposed to have an oyster bar and there were pictures of oysters on the half shell and menu pictures of oyster selection. Got there, was seated and provided a couple of menus with one labeled Oyster Bar!! It was a bar menu but only with drinks and no oysters. Asked if there were oysters and was told "on the half shell? No! Only oyster shots". Since I was hungry I ordered a bowl of the clam chowder and the lunch portioned fish and chips. Chowder was good but nothing to bring me back. Fish and chips was hot. Hard to tell if it was fresh fish, battered and cooked in house or premade portions dropped into a deep fryer. Fish was flaky and tender.

Dungeness crab
Lillie A.

Came here on a Thursday afternoon for an early dinner. Place was quiet, the server was very polite and nice. Got the Dungeness crab and calamari appetizer. The crab was good well and the red potatoes that came with were tasty. Calamari was tender and thick. Wasn't rings but strips that were lightly breaded. The dipping sauce was good as well. Lemon wedges came with everything. The water tased good as well.

Clam chowder, delicious. Fish and chips perfection. The batter was light and crispy. The food came out piping hot.

The place doesn't look like much, but the food was excellent. The clam chowder was very good, and the pan fried oysters were amazing.

That's one reason this place stands out--they offer a wider variety compared to others in the area. The ownership has changed maybe about a year ago and with that, the menu has shifted more toward more different types of rolls and ramen. My husband and I have dined here more than a couple of times since the change. One thing I noticed right away is that the service has improved--the staff are much friendlier now, which makes a big difference. That said, I do miss one of the dishes from the previous menu. That was a " bibimbap with sushi " type of dish. The food back then was very good, but the service wasn't as welcoming. Now it feels like the opposite has improved. I've also ordered takeout a few times, including bento boxes and teriyaki. The food is tasty, but the prices are a bit higher compared to other teriyaki spots. I understand that Ocean Shores has fewer customers, so pricing may be different, but slightly lower prices could attract more repeat visits. Would I come back? Probably yes--this is one of my comfort food spots and there aren't many alternatives in Ocean Shores.

I almost got two flavored lemonades last time we went, but Nyah recommended my girls split one since it's a huge serving and they are tiny girls! I travel the coast regularly as my work requires travel, but honestly this was probably the most "traditional" tasting sushi restaurant from coastal Washington to Northern california. The staff were friendly and service felt somewhat like a casual dining service. Here is the criticism portion, while I very much enjoyed the food, it also made me have higher standards as it is a more traditional Japanese style sushi. I personally felt like all the nigiri were great, but the spicy tuna roll that came along with it wasn't the best. I feel like it was an item that was there to make it more suitable for American customers, but honestly it didn't really feel like it belongs as the sushi is more traditional, focusing on more simple flavors but with depth. The rice proportion is a little big, but not only that, i feel like the texture of the rice was a little on the mushy side, and it also lacked flavor. I was a bit disappointed that there were repeats in the deluxe nigiri since I am honestly ordering this so I can try multiple of their flavors at a simplified/refined state. i did end up ordering Saba(mackerel)/unagi(eel) separately as I was craving stronger flavors and I was curious as they had it on the menu, but it wasn't on the deluxe I had ordered. It was really good which added to my disappointment. Overall, I think it is a great sushi restaurant, but it can do with some improvements to become a GREAT one.

The interior feels refined and stylish, with soft lighting and purple accents that give it a calm, upscale vibe. Service was genuinely kind, attentive, and well-timed. The miso soup was deep in flavor, the seaweed salad fresh and nicely plated. The Baked Salmon Roll and Olympian Roll really stood out -- fresh fish, balanced flavors, and beautiful presentation. Sitting there to eat would probably be awkward with every patron passing behind you. We got the Paradise and the Hurricane rolls. The Paradise was good, but the Hurricane won hands down. Sweet and savory, crunchy and creamy, with a touch of spiciness, this was the complete package. Highly recommend. The bathroom is outside of the restaurant through a winding corridor of backrooms. It's unsettling, and then the restroom itself is lit in a sickly yellow. One of the motion-sensing faucets had its motion-sensor ripped out, and the sink drain looked like it had been dissolved in acid. Kinda weird!

I ordered the seafood fettuccine, cheese curds and Brussels sprouts. The serving sizes of the pasta and sprouts was for 2 people. I inhaled the pasta dish, so incredibly tasty. The seafood was fresh, and there was just one small hard bit of clam shell but that happens when serving them on the shell. Jumbo shrimp wasn't expected and seemed to have been swimming that morning. Tasty salmon. Divine sauce, which I don't think I've ever thought of an Alfredo before. Quality cheese. The sprouts were roasted/blackened, and tasted great. A bit of fried onions, I think, sprinkled on top that I just ate around (just not for me). Cheese curds were still hot and fresh with marinara and a BBQ sauce I added. Leftovers fed me lunch the next day. It was one of those meals where I was ful but wanted to keep eating, it was so delicious.

The service seemed friendly overall, but there were moments that said otherwise. When a glass of water was spilled right in front of the server, she didn't offer any extra napkins or help clean the table. My pasta was worse than Domino's. I didn't even take it to go -- it was completely bland, and the shrimp were tough. My aunt ordered fish with vegetables, and the carrots were clearly burnt. At first, I thought maybe it was some kind of preparation style I didn't understand, but no -- they were simply burnt. Honestly, it's especially disappointing because I had recommended this place to my friends before. I live a few hours away and came here partly for good food, but even being very hungry after the long wait didn't make the meal any better. The oysters were also flavorless. On top of that, I didn't feel well after dinner and had stomach pain. I can't say for sure it was caused by the food, but it definitely added to the negative experience.

I consider myself a bit of a sushi connoisseur (my husband just calls me "bougie" lol), so I figured we'd give this place a try since it was convenient and a sushi place for me to try. When we walked in, it was completely empty and there was a sign up at the entrance mentioning they were hiring servers. The restaurant seemed spacious but maybe it felt that way because all the tables were unoccupied. It took a few seconds before someone came out, but the girl who helped us ended up being the only saving grace of the entire experience. She was super sweet, told us we could sit anywhere, brought menus right away, and was on top of everything: drinks, appetizer, sushi, clearing plates. She was honestly the only person we interacted with the whole time. I did end up going to the register to pay after our meal, since she got busy once more people came in, but she handled everything she could really well. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the service. It was simply mediocre. The shrimp tempura tasted undercooked (I could still taste the batter smh). My husband got the Red Dragon roll and I got the Big Mike. He asked for no cucumber and they were accommodating. Regarding portion sizes, they're generous, and I can see how that might appeal to the general palate. I like that the rolls were cut nicely too, where the rolls were a little thinner than your standard piece, so they were easy to eat. The torched salmon and eel were probably the best parts of what I ordered. But overall, the quality felt pretty average. The rice was lacking flavor and kind of just tasted like plain filler. Our total came out to about $57 before tip, and honestly, it didn't feel worth it. Most rolls averaged $19, but they tasted more like something you'd expect at a cheaper spot. I've had similar sushi before that I'd consider more of a budget option (not amazing, but decent for the price). This sushi was passable but tasted more like $15 for a roll.. Just subpar for my standards. I think what made it more disappointing is that when I go out for sushi, I am expecting something better than what I could make at home (and yes, I have made sushi before with sashimi-grade fish, sushi rice, etc.). It is convenient to have someone cook for you, and good sushi is supposed to feel like an extraordinary experience. That's why I dine out at sushi restaurants but this just didn't hit the spot. Overall, amazing service, but the food was pretty underwhelming for the price.
