My go to place for Hawaiian-inspired food in Westport. A relatively small menu, I always go for the Kalua pork bowl with spicey ahi. Not quite the quality you get in Hawaii, but that's what makes visiting Hawaii so worth it. The bowl ran about $17 and the side of Kimchee another few dollars. They had a bit of a fly problem when I visited this past weekend, but the sole server was sweet and quick. I'll be back!

Stopped in to eat while on vacation and I have to admit I was not impressed. The food was mediocre at best, not a lot of flavor, and the Hawaiian chicken looked uncooked. However, it was fully cooked, it just looked like it wad boiled as there was no charring or bbq grill marks. If you look on their website it shows chicken that's actually grilled but as you can see from my picture that's not the case. I added a picture of my food and a picture from their website to see the difference. The restaurant was clean, and the service was good.

We were here in December 2025, so it's the off season and there were just a couple other families dining in. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. We loved their hot sauce selection and ended up buying two bottles to bring home. Husband had the poke bowl and Alabama Slammer. He loved his selection and said it was delicious. Kiddo had the pulled pork sandwich and also loved it. I had the fish tacos. They were tasty. My only complaint is the fish strips were more breading than fish but otherwise they were good. Flavorful sauce which brought it all together. Southern sweet tea was brewed fresh and sweetened perfectly.

I lived in Maui for a number of years and I'm always looking for proper traditional Hawaiian cuisine. My wife had the Kahlua pork with cabbage and it was perfect. It's Kahlua pork with cabbage so it's nothing to write home about, it's simple but it has great flavor. I ordered the piggybacker Burger. It's a Burger with Bacon, pulled pork, and coleslaw. Had a nice balance, with a touch of the barbecue sauce. It had a nice flavor going. It's obviously not Hawaiian, it's more Of a classic barbecue burger but I highly recommend it. It was nice. They had a number of gourmet hot sauces on hand. The Mac salad also had the exact flavor I was looking for. I thought the noodles were a little dense so if I'm going to nitpick it would be the macaroni itself. But the flavor was spot on. If you're in Westport and you're feeling like some barbecue, this place should certainly scratch that itch.

We should have read the reviews more carefully, as we are not the first to comment how terrible the brisket was. See the attached photo - that is a $25 plate of brisket with .5 bites gone. The portion was nearly all fat. It wasn't just poor tourist food, but actually an inedible gelatinous mass. The beans were ok.

Their food is tasty. I enjoyed it. The place can get a bit hectic on popular tourist weekends but it's worth the wait.

Popular with the fisherman, and definitely get rowdy if you stay too late. But if you dig a dive bar you have to check out the Mermaid. Great jukebox, pool table, good outdoor seating area.

The best key lime pie I've ever had was in Key West. The best cherry pie I've ever had was in Traverse City. But, strangely enough, the best BBQ I've ever had was in a place called Victor, Idaho. And the best clam chowder I've ever had was not in Boston, but in the craziest hole in the wall bar in Westport, Washington State, where it seemed like 1983 as they literally played the Rebel Yell album by Billy Idol while we ate and some Rottweiler sat by our inside table begging for food. We own a house in Long Beach, and during the time we lived there full-time, this was our go-to spot for anniversaries and my husband's birthdays. It exudes that cozy, historic Seaview charm that invites you to relax and linger...warm, intimate, and full of character without being over the top. A true small-town and now not so hidden gem. My husband is a fan of their Old Fashioneds, particularly those with a smoked maple twist, and he often gravitates back to the slow-braised pork. Their current Southern Comfort Pork dish is just his style: slow-braised pork shoulder served over brown sugar yam mash with jalapeño creamed corn, green onion, and maple-bacon salsa. That's comfort food crafted with real culinary skill. As someone who follows a plant-based diet, I truly appreciate how The Depot makes an effort to accommodate vegetarian and vegan diners in a way that feels genuine rather than forced. Last winter, I was thrilled to discover the ginger-coconut soba noodles, they were flavorful, satisfying, and perfectly balanced. Their current mika soba noodles with garlic-ginger coconut cream, vegetables, toasted cashews, and cilantro are exactly the kind of dish I'm thankful to find on a Peninsula menu. I also have fond memories of Burger Wednesdays from our time on the Peninsula. It's incredible how satisfying a customized portobello burger can be when a kitchen understands texture and seasoning especially in a place where plant-based options can still be scarce. The food is fantastic, but the service deserves a special mention. While Peninsula restaurants are known for their good service, The Depot's service is exceptional: polished, friendly, warm, and just the right amount of attentive. Although we now reside in California, we plan to make another reservation when we return to the Long Beach Peninsula in July. I'm already looking forward to their summer menu. Note: I've forgotten to take photos so the ones on this review are from the restaurants social media - definitely a reflection of our last meal at The Depot without the drinks.

Fried oysters (needed more of that delicious sauce!), fried green tomatoes, and foresters' toast were all delicious. The mushrooms and sauce on that toast is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. We loved the arugula salad. Beautifully presented and the flavors shined - pine nuts, parm and truffle. The sorghum salad was both a surprise and comforting. Such an interesting salad! Everyone loved their entrees. I had the fried chicken. Some of the best I've had. (Note: you can request their spicy sauce on the side, and it's worth it. Doesn't hide the chicken flavor but enhances.) But IT almost overshadowed by the biscuit. I'm going to dream about that crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside biscuit. Loved the mashed potatoes with pan gravy and collards as well. Others had shrimp and grits, pork chop, and rock fish. Everyone raved. Frankly, I don't think you can go wrong here. A memorable meal that I'd be happy to enjoy weekly.

As a flight attendant and an unapologetic foodie, I've eaten my way through cities all over the world. You learn pretty quickly when a restaurant is simply serving food versus when it's serving something made with genuine care. This place falls firmly into the second category. The customer service? Just the sweet Rainier cherry on top of an already incredible experience (and yes... go look at their bakery case while you're there). Jocelyn was phenomenal. I asked how this little slice of heaven came to be, and she happily shared the story behind it. One owner spent years as an executive chef at a casino, while the other built a career as a professional baker in Aberdeen. Boy, does that expertise show. I ordered the fried chicken and waffles. A little context: I mostly eat pescatarian these days, so when I do splurge on chicken, my expectations are sky high. I've built it up in my head as one of the foods I miss most (right alongside a good ribeye), and it's almost always disappointing. Not this time. This chicken is absolutely ridiculous. They debone a chicken thigh and fry it into the crispiest, juiciest piece of fried chicken I've had in a long time. It's made with a gluten-free batter, which means more people get to enjoy it. And before anyone assumes "gluten-free" means sacrificing flavor... think again. Plenty of great chefs will tell you the best fried coatings come from starches like potato or cornstarch anyway. What really made this meal special, though, was that my partner is vegan. If you've ever dined out with someone who's vegan while you aren't, you know how rare it is for both people to walk away feeling like they had an equally great meal. It almost never happens. Here, it did. She ordered the vegan Indian tacos with corn tortillas, and they looked incredible. She was excited to try the fry bread, and instead of simply serving it, the staff thoughtfully explained it wasn't vegan and helped her choose an alternative. That's the kind of attention to detail you don't forget. Our service was perfectly paced. If you're looking for food in five minutes, there are plenty of places where "cooking" means microwaving something that arrived frozen. This isn't one of those places. Everything tastes intentional, and that takes time. Our food still arrived in under 20 minutes, maybe even less. Slow down, talk to the people you're with, and enjoy the experience. Great food isn't supposed to feel rushed. We stumbled across this gem on our drive home from Ocean Shores, and I'm so glad we did.
