I love a cute experience, and alpenrose vail delivered! Our server was so adorable and accommodating. We did the cheese fondue option and added steak. The meat was super fresh and tender. Nothing comes preseasoned so we did ask for salt and pepper to doctor it up as much as possible. But overall we enjoyed. A round of birthday shots and cake was brought out at the end as a cute cherry on top. I definitely recommend checking them out if in Vail.

Seems like we look for these types of places in our ski trips, and this joint looked the part. Promptly seated at a nice table in the quaint and authentically decorated chalet dining room and opted for a German imported brew, which I liked and had several others too! Pretzel was a bit dough-ey for my liking but the cheese & mustard were nice compliments. Schnitzel was large with a crusty coating that held up to the condiments. Couldn't choose from all the desert options so we went with a couple... there was a berry torte that was a bit dry and lacked sweetness. The strudel was nice and came with a vanilla creme sauce that complimented it well. Ambiance was hunting chalet chic, prices are in line with the locale, and service was friendly, prompt, and helpful!

I always make sure to order pretzel whenever a restaurant offers it. So far, NBC restaurant in Universal City Walk is one of top 3 that makes good pretzel. Alpenrose isn't too bad. It is a pity that they charge $4 each for dipping sauce. I would've not minded if it was $2 but $4? The place has ample seating and fairly spacious. Didn't order Winter Curry, I had a bit of it from friend's - it was unique taste. If you are looking for a fun shopping experience where a Germany restaurant is nearby in Colorado, give Alpenrose a try.

Alpenrose is a must while in Vail. Highly recommend making a reservation, especially on the weekends. The ambiance, food, and presentation are so fun! Plenty of choices when it comes to food so they have something for everyone. The prices are very reasonable, and the service is always super friendly and accommodating.

Adore Alpenrose!! It's like grandma chic to the max with great food and really attentive and friendly service. Also, the food is pretty epic. It's seriously putting the German food to shame where I live (and I thought we had some pretty good options!) We had the: *TRÜFFEL BRATWURST (Pair of delicious Truffle Bratwurst with red cabbage, mashed potatoes and mustard) - Delicious! Great flavor but not overpowering (like how truffle oil can sometimes be!) I really enjoyed their version of red cabbage too. *OKTOBERFEST HAX'N (Crispy Pork shank with fresh baked German pretzel, mustard and Obazda cheese) - this was SO good. So flavorful and juicy. It also came with a FULL SIZE german pretzel, it was awesome. *APFELSTRUDEL (Traditional German apple strudel served with vanilla sauce) - Oh jeez, best apfelstrudel I've had in my life! To note, I haven't been to Germany but my husband's German family makes some pretty solid versions but this was pretty perfect.

The German flair is prevalent throughout Vail but it especially rules at the Alpenrose. Being German, I am very particular about all things Bavarian. I decided on the Gulasch with Spaetzle for dinner. Aside from the expense of the meal, the experience did not disappoint. The food was good, the Radler delish, and service, supreme. Our waiter, Hannes, hailed from Austria so he was able to converse with us and to help my aunt feel comfortable. He was so much fun! Our meals arrived quickly too! Indoor seating is slim pickings but their patio works perfect for this time of year. Restrooms are in the basement and may present a slight challenge for those with mobility issues. Also, since the Alpenrose is located on the Fussgängerzone (pedestrian alley) so there is no parking close by.

Very alive space with German/Austrian feel without being hokey. The staff wear traditional German attire which adds to the overall atmosphere. The large menu gives you a chance to try "the usuals" but also presents some items that may not be as familiar. There is a small selection of German beers on tap as well as some glasses/bottles of various wines. We enjoyed the Schnitzel as well as the Octoberfest Hax'n, which was a gigantic Pork Shank. We added Potatoes Rosti, Red Cabbage and Sauerkraut as sides. Both portions were delicious as well as humongous - either one being enough for 2 people. We were too full to try their delicious looking desserts. Great place to try for an authentic German meal.

We absolutely loved this quaint little restaurant. It felt like we were in a fairytale sitting outside. Lights and flowers are streamed everywhere, oil burning lamps at the table, and hand net pillows sitting on the back of the benches. This is definitely a place where you wanna sit back and relax and enjoy your food and drink with friends and family. We actually just went for the apple strudel, which was amazing, but I can't wait to go back and try something on their dinner menu

We stopped by after walking the beautiful Betty Ford Alpine Garden. We ordered beers and Brat Bites with Curry sauce. Food was great! Service was first class friendly, knowledgeable, and timely. Great people watching from the patio!!

Delicious dinner in a quaint, cozy atmosphere. We enjoyed everything that we ordered. Ate everything, no leftovers, thus entrees are true to European portions. The service was attentive. We tried 3 German beers, the spinach dumplings, pork shank with a giant Bavarian pretzel that came with amazing mustard dip. The smoked salmon, raclette board and gnocchi were savory and tasty. There was no room for dessert! Would go back to try their other dishes.

First Time Here The menu has a little bit of everything for everyone, including the kids. SIT: Patio on a nice day is probably the best place to sit. Inside was a little warm during the summer at 6 pm. DRANKS: Beer good but pass on the wine. FOOD: Pretzel is always a crowd/kid pleaser Schnitzel was good Brats was good Schweizer was ok Overall, it was good dinner and the ambiance and service was great.

Adorable Alpine-themed restaurant in the heart of Vail Village where you're seated at long wooden benches among rustic decor. Ice cold beers are served in heavy ceramic steins or glass mugs. Cheese fondue with torn brown bread to start. Gnocchi was hearty and light. Truffled sausages were paired perfectly buttery mashed potatoes and stewed cabbage and beets. Apple strudel was dry but a must try for the sake of ambience.

Great place to visit while you're in Vail. If you're craving some authentic German style dishes, and drinks, can't go wrong with this place. We had the schnitzel which were pretty good. Order them with mashed potatoes and the red cabbage, which was delicious. The drinks were made very well and the waiters are friendly. Service was fast and overall was a great experience. And considering we're in Vail, price was reasonable. Overall, will definitely return and would recommend to anybody in the area

They weren't too familiar with the breakfast at the places we mentioned, but one person immediately said, "There's The Little Diner right down the street. It's very good and has even been featured on the Food Network." We decided to give it a try, and we are very glad we did. We arrived around 8:30 in the morning and sat at the counter. At the time we were the only customers there. A very nice lady brought us water and got me a coffee while we looked over the menu. It actually took us a while to decide because there were so many great sounding options. As we sat there deciding, more and more people started coming in. My wife ordered the sausage gravy over a biscuit with eggs and cheese grits, and I ordered the Eggs Benedict with potatoes. When the food arrived, everything looked excellent. The flavors matched the presentation too. My wife said the sausage gravy was outstanding, and my Eggs Benedict was excellent as well. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the potatoes were very good, and the hollandaise sauce had great flavor. While sitting at the counter, we spent some time talking with our server. She told us she had been there since shortly after the diner first opened. Unfortunately, she also explained that the building is scheduled to be demolished so condos can be built above the property, and they are unsure whether the diner will be able to return afterward. It's honestly sad to hear about a place this good possibly being pushed out because of rising development and rental costs. I understand building owners want to maximize profits, but it's disappointing when small local businesses that people truly enjoy are forced out by higher rents and redevelopment. Places like this are what give towns character. Overall, this place was excellent. Great food, friendly people, and exactly the kind of local spot you hope to find while traveling.

As anticipated, the place was gorgeous...with a slightly formal air. Given that it was in the Vail Village (near the ski slope), my husband was able to enter the place in his rugged ski suit. Despite the ambiance, it was a bit dead. I was disappointed with the lack of French music overhead...though maybe it was on so low, I didn't hear it? There were plenty of breakfast-brunch options, but on the menu, some items were noted as taking 20 minutes (which we didn't have time for!), so I was a tad bummed about that. In any case, my husband chose this Huckleberry Bacon French Toast, and I ordered the Maryland Crab Benedict. For drinks, we both just ordered plain coffee. As expected, the foods were good. I was more impressed with my husband's choice, this super-fancy french toast. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted spectacular! Mine was good, but disappointing at the same time. I really liked the Crab Benedict, but I only half-liked the side salad (basically just Arugula with a few Walnuts and Figs). The total bill for these items ran over 100 bucks... which, was to be expected in Vail. However, for such a pricey breakfast, I felt that I should have absolutely loved it...but it felt short of that. Overall, I just expected a bit more from this breakfast experience. Again, the decor was gorgeous, but the ambiance wasn't fully there (because of the lack of music?). Service felt a bit short-skimpy as well. Foods were good, but mine especially (Crab Benedict) felt a bit lacking. Let's just say that I've had Crab Benedicts as just as good for half the price...and with better sides. Maybe lunch or dinner experience is better here? In any case, am glad we checked out the place...but I doubt I'll choose it for breakfast again.

The Steak Frites was, I'm sorry, not all that special. The Fries were very good but the steak was lack luster with the Béarnaise Sauce missing key flavors like shallots and especially tarragon. The Aubergine Roulade, roasted eggplant rolled with roasted red peppers, spinach, chèvre and herbs served over baby arugula, mimolette cheese, toasted pine nuts, pickled fresno pepper & aged balsamic reduction (!) was good. With all those ingredients it should have been spectacular. Nice evening but disappointing.
