I really enjoyed Aloha Stacks from the beginning but there's a few things I needed to update here. So it's a family restaurant and their choice of music is not compliant for children. Playing over their speakers is the explicit version of C-Lo's F YOU. Uncomfortable! The song before this was The Thong Song. Also explicit version. So inappropriate. None of the staff there were worried about kids (with ears like hawks) listening to explicit versions of these songs. We hurried to finish our meal before another inappropriate song came on. About the food....honestly, the quality has gone WAY DOWN. My chicken Katsu Loco Moco was sloppy with overcooked eggs and gravy that was way too salty. Our Chicken Fried steak Loco Moco (not shown in photos) was hard as cardboard and DRY. Eggs were also overcooked and falling off the side of the dish. So presentation was overlooked. The Turkey sandwich was the only dish presentable and good. In summary, I have high hopes for the food to be quality and tasty again. The two eggs and protein breakfast were enjoyable, however, I wouldn't say that it blew me away by any means and tasted pretty standard. The ube pancakes, on the other hand, were DELICIOUS! The ube flavor in it is pretty strong and I absolutely loved the ube sauce that was on it. The pancakes itself were also a nice texture. Overall, I would recommend these pancakes and will order them again if I return in the future. The store itself is pretty casual and it's one of those places where you put your order in at the front, they give you and number, and then you can choose any of the available seats and have your meal brought out to you. I found this place on yelp. I was so excited to go since i saw their menu. I took my daughter. She wanted the moco loco and i couldnt wait to get the spam breakfast burrito. Loco moco was good. Both personnel would like me to downgrade my chosen pancake even knowing they were at fault. THEY WONT GIVE A REFUND on the additional fee. They have been in business for so long and they never updated their menu board that there is fee for a specific pancake. The cashier was poorly trained as well and the so called managers for not handling the situation well. I was told the owner wasnt there. Mind you it was our first time in this restaurant due to the reviews on Yelp. It was a lie. As for the Ube pancake. It isnt worth it. Just get a regular pancake. I didnt taste a slight Ube in there . Its food color plus colored condensed milk as a sauce. They shd have added some HALAYA to make it taste authentic. Its fake. Coffee wasnt good either. The food is too pricey for the quality you get. I've been here twice. Once for a "to go" when I tried their famous ube pancakes and yes, they were yummy! The second time and most recently, on 06-21-24. I met a friend here and had the Guava Toffee French Toast. Another very unique Hawaiian inspired breakfast item. My friend had the Hibachi Shrimp, but unfortunately was disappointed because she thought it would be more like Givonnai's Shrimp Truck in Hawaii. These shrimps were just grilled or pan fried in butter and garlic and sauteed with mushrooms, and when I saw her entree, I commented that it did look more like Hibachi shrimp. They appear to be previously frozen shrimp. Nothing to write home about. Just a note that this is a walk up, pay, seat yourself kind of restaurant.
