Almuerzoooo. Great first experience this morning. This place was originally recommended by my good friend Cesar who works over at Vaca in the south coast metro area. (Excellent and legendary restaurant btw) The service here is top notch. Great people. Always smiling and happy to help. The food was great; starting with the complimentary conchitas, made in house super soft. Same goes for the bolillo that comes with the chilaquiles embarazados . Next time I look forward to trying the regular chilaquiles and the French toast horneado. Oh and the café de olla is quite nice. Recommend it Salud, dinero y amor.
Me my Bestie and our moms chose this place to go after church on a Sunday afternoon. The place is not very big but it has a very cute aesthetic. Make sure you make a reservation if not you will be waiting because it's pretty busy on the weekends from what I've heard. The food was good overall my mom ordered the mole enchiladas, which had a little more sauce than my mom preferred but still pretty good. The skillet looked delicious, but it was just okay and could have used more seasoning. They served pan dulce as an appetizer, which I personally would prefer as a dessert--I'd rather have chips and salsa. Service was good, and the ambiance was nice. Overall, I'd come back and try something different!
This is our second time here, and I couldn't wait to come back! We first visited last year for my birthday, and now I'm back again during my birthday week. My husband and I ordered the Chilaquiles Verdes Embarazados and the enchiladas, and everything was absolutely delicious. They start you off with two complimentary sweet conchas as soon as you sit down, which is such a thoughtful touch. Their coffee is incredible, and my husband ordered the horchata, it was so refreshing and one of the best we've had. The ambiance is one of my favorite things about this place. They have salsa music playing in the background, creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It honestly feels like you're having breakfast at your tia's house comfortable, cozy, and full of love. Jesus was our server, and he was fantastic! He was friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcomed. The hosts at the front and all of the staff are genuinely kind and welcoming as well. This place has become one of my favorite breakfast spots, and I'll definitely keep coming back. I highly recommend it if you're looking for amazing food, great coffee, excellent service, and an atmosphere that feels like home. Definitely coming back again next year for my birthday. Making it a tradition.
Came back here with my coworkers, mind you a diverse group & they really enjoyed it. They enjoyed the vibe, ambiance, food and the service experience. One had to bookmark it to bring their spouse, he knew she would enjoy it. We had a variety of dishes but definitely the chilaquiles embarazados took g the spotlight. One had regular chilaquiles half red/half green and he appreciated they didn't get soggy, the tortilla retained the integrity of the crunchiness throughout. The orange juice was fresh and sweet, very refreshing.
Finally got a chance to go back to my favorite breakfast spot in OC. This is a gem hidden in a very unassuming location. It's off the the freeway next to several industrial facilities. I've been coming to this this place for a while now and food is always amazing. I usually get coffee here since they serve cafe de olla fresh. Interior and exterior are clean as well as the restrooms. Staff are always friendly, welcoming and professional. Wait time for a table/seat can vary depending on the size of your party. The one setback is that parking is always a major hassle. Pro-tip, if you happen to be solo, you can eat at their bar area. Going back to the parking situation, the restaurant shares a parking lot with several other businesses, and unfortunately another business is being built in a empty lot right next door. Still, besides the parking situation- go as early as possible to get a good parking spot.
This beautiful restaurant looks so chic and nice. Great and speedy service with spacious parking lot. I had their delicious cafe de olla and it was perfect black for me and they give you complimentary pan dulce (white and chocolate concha). My friend and I split the molcajete Almuerzo delight- chilaquiles,queso fresco chorizo, potatoes, and an egg any style you please. I will definitely be coming back!
Everything about this palace rocks. Between the homemade/in house conchas/pan dulce (insane) and the incredibly flavorful food, I will be coming here as often as I can. I was visiting from LA to meet my mom for brunch and wanted to try something new. Came on Sunday around 12pm and it was about a 30 minute wait. Totally worth it and the staff was very nice (but busy, if you can't practice a little patience then come at your own risk). The Cafe de Olla iced coffee was also super good! Can't wait to go back.
Birthday brunch at Almuerzo somehow turned into a full telenovela episode. Started strong with chilaquiles embarazados all around since 4 of the 5 were intrigued ... which became unintentionally on-theme once the surprise pregnancy reveal dropped mid-coffee sip. The table lost it. Tip: Ask for both the red and green sauce. If you are like me, I can never decide and both were good so I still can't pick a favorite but guess what? You don't have to. Have both!!! Turkey club held its own, but the real heartbreak was learning they were out of guava, meaning the guava brûlée dreams were canceled before they could even flourish. Raspberry French bread stepped in as the emotional support carb and honestly? Did its job. Churro waffles were the MVP. We all spent a solid minute staring at the topping trying to decide if it was an aggressive scoop of butter before realizing it was ice cream. A journey. Dirty horchata lattes for the squad, while I stayed loyal to the café de olla because someone at the table had to make responsible decisions. 10/10 for food, chaos, plot twists, and accidentally themed menu choices.
The chilaquiles were good tasting and had a beautiful presentation....but were pricey at best. Chips were broken up and soft from sitting on the counter to long. My wife's chicken enchiladas were tasty with nice shredded white meat and were a good size each. Beautiful place and is very busy....so go early! Overall it was pricey though.....
This is a fun place for brunch! It gets pretty crowded during the weekends so expect a wait. The parking lot is small so I parked in the plaza across the street. The place is clean and beautifully decorated and the staff is very nice. I love that the complimentary pan dulce that they bring to the table! It's soft and fluffy with the iconic sugary top. We got the stuffed blackberry french toast and chilaques. Stuffed Blackberry French Toast- You get buttery brioche stuffed with a blackberry cream cheese filling. The filling is creamy and decadent with a good amount of blackberry jam. Finished with powdered sugar and lechera. Chilaquiles- This is a fun take on chilaquiles. The tortillas are stuffed with mozarella cheese and fried until it's crisp with a gooey, cheesy middle. Finished with red and green salsa. Great experience overall!
Really disappointing experience. We waited about 40 minutes just to get seated. Once we were finally seated, we ordered an iced café de olla and chilaquiles. The food was okay, but definitely not worth that kind of wait. I also ordered toast, which came out soggy and overly sugary. The biggest issue was the service. Our server never came back to check on us at all. After waiting about 25 minutes, we finally had to get up and ask for boxes and the check ourselves. The waiter saw me trying to get his attention but just kept walking. The host was the only one who helped right away, which I appreciated, but overall the experience was frustrating. I found such a cute brunch spot in Tustin -- Almuerzo Café! The vibe here is so relaxing and beautiful. It honestly feels like you're dining at a luxury resort, with the elegance of an art museum. Every corner is beautifully designed, making it the perfect place to enjoy a slow brunch. One of my favorite dishes was the Molcajete. It arrived at the table bubbling like hot lava! The salsa was still sizzling and bubbling in the stone bowl, making it so fun to watch. Dipping the tender steak and juicy chicken into the rich, flavorful salsa made every bite even more delicious. It was definitely the highlight of the meal! We also loved the Steak & Eggs, Blackberry Stuffed French Toast, and the complimentary Pan Concha bread. The Matcha Margarita and Mango Margarita were refreshing and unique--perfect for brunch. Everything tasted amazing--¡Está riquísimo! The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the relaxing atmosphere made us want to stay longer. Plus, there's free parking, which makes the visit even more convenient. I'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it if you're looking for a beautiful brunch spot in Orange County!

What a hidden gem!!! The second you walk in to put your name down, you are greeted with a kind hostess and enamored by the charm of this restaurant. My husband and I ordered the Molletitos as an appetizer, and absolutely loved it! The baked bolillo roll was so warm and fresh, and paired so well with the chorizo and refried beans. We ate all four before eating our meal because it was just that good! I ordered the Chilaquiles Embarazados Verdes with scrambled eggs, and my husband ordered the Stuffed Blackberry French Toast. The green salsa and mozzarella cheese on the chilaquiles was so tasty. I thought the eggs and refried beans were cooked perfectly. The blackberry jam and blackberry whipped cream on the French Toast was so rich in flavor, and the toast was prepped perfectly. I also ordered the Dirty Horchata Iced Coffee (not pictured), and really enjoyed the sweetness to coffee ratio! Overall the restaurant was very cute, and the service was amazing. First time coming here and it was a great experience. Food was amazing, service was great. It was on a Sunday so it was packed and we did wait about 20 min but only because we ate outside if we wanted inside it was a 45 min wait. For sure returning again soon! read more

I found a new hidden gem in Tustin. Almuerzo Cafe staff were so friendly and attentive. I loved the classic European paintings, like the Mona Lisa and Girl with the Pearl Earring, holding lattes. I was a cute touch for their decor. The food was fantastic, but I didn't love their lattes. I had the vanilla latte and I didn't really taste the coffee. There was too much milk and with a hint of vanilla. My friend loved the cookie butter latte, but I didn't like the flavor. All this didn't really matter to me because they also give you complimentary mini conchas. Pan con cafe can really fix anything! To share, we tried the molletes. The chorizo and papas are served on warm and soft bolillos topped with avocados, pickled onions, and a chipotle and avocado salsa. It's a bit much to share for two people but perfect for a group of 4. For the mains, we ordered chicken and waffles and the chilaquiles embarazados. My friend LOVED the chicken and waffles. I thought they had such a pretty presentation and she really enjoyed the waffle. The green sauce on the chilaquiles was spicy, but nothing I couldn't handle. It's served with frijolitos, eggs any style you like them, and a fresh bolillo. It was so unique and flavorful. We arrived there around 9 am-ish. When we left, there was a bit of a line, so we beat the crowd. They do take reservations, but you may need to make them in person. They don't have a phone number and I don't see an option on open table or Yelp. I would be willing to wait in that big line for this spot, the food is delicious. read more

While working in Tustin, I searched for a breakfast place and came across Almuerzo and I can say it was a great choice. Humberto welcomed us and made us feel right at home. He greeted us with some complimentary conchas! Many choices for breakfast, but took Humberto's suggestion for the Chilaquiles Embarazados and added the carne asada. This are some kind of little empanaditas filled with cheese and I chose two salsas, chipotle and red sauce. Very flavorful and the steak was really nice and tender. A must have dish if you make it here. It also came with two eggs, beans and a freshly made birote. For drink I got a cafe de olla. Have to add that the decor is very nice and gives you a great vibe. Definitely a place I will comeback when I'm in the area. read more
The food was great, service amazing, and ambiance beautiful. Jesus was a great server. Everyone had a smile on their face and had great energy. I love that they serve bolillo with referring beans, and mini conchas for an appetizer. I don't know of any other restaurant that makes Chilaquiles Embarazados. That's cheese stuffed tortilla chips. I like mine "divorced" that means with red and green salsa. The red salsa is spicier but the green is more savory. Bottom line -- 10/10 I'm coming here again! read more

The cafe de olla was very good not overly sweet. The chilaquiles were also good just wish they were spicy. You also get a plate with beans, eggs, and a warm bolillo. The bolillo was so soft and my favorite part of the dish. You also get conchas when you sit down read more

Food was good! We got the chilaquiles embarazados with chipotle sauce and the pistachio ice cream and chocolate French toast. Food was good! 8/10. The chilaquiles could have used more sauce. The drinks are wine based but very tasty! Servers were extremely attentive and kind. Constantly walking by ensuring we didn't need anything additional and that our food was up to par. Wait wasn't too long, about 15 mins on a Saturday at noon for a table for two. Definitely recommend. I will definitely be back again to try other things off the menu. read more

My sister is a patron of Almuerzo which is Spanish for Lunch. She invited me here for to enjoy a moment of sibling bonding time. We sat down at one of the booth's. There was a yelper who mentioned loud music playing. We didn't get that on this day, probably because it was a Monday. But the music was lovely. The server greeted with some fresh conchitas and ice water. There were 2 pink ones and a yellow one (I think it's Vanilla). I opted for the vanilla one. They also offered cafe de olla which was more on the spicer side - but because I already had coffee, I just had water. For food, I went for Chilaquiles Rojo's and my sister opted for the Verdes. It came with a side of 2 eggs, beans and a bolillo. This would be part of the traditional Mexican breakfast and perfect for a cold morning. The flavor profile of chilaquiles rojos included what I think is a bit of old oil with the red chipotle or ancho? sauce - the sauce was the perfect - I just felt a the chips were covered in too much oil. I tried my sister's green one and decided her's was a lot better. She agreed after trying mine. I'll be sure to get that next time. The eggs were cooked perfectly as was the beans with the bolillo. We chatted for a bit over the food before leaving but I would recommend everyone trying this place out for brunch. read more

We were looking for a new brunch spot and stumbled upon this one through some TikTok videos. We arrived around 12:45 PM and were added to the waitlist. The wait times can vary, but we only waited about 20-25 minutes. The restaurant has a cozy vibe and lovely decor! To kick things off, our waiter surprised us with some complimentary fresh conchas, which were absolutely delicious! They paired perfectly with the cookie butter latte--definitely a 10/10. Since it was our first experience there, we asked our waiter for some recommendations. I was torn between the regular and stuffed chilaquiles, and he highly recommended the stuffed ones. He described them as being somewhat like ravioli, which made me laugh! I went with his suggestion, opting for half mole and half salsa verde--100/10 for sure! The dish came with pickled onions, cheese, beans, eggs, and a bolio, and honestly, I was full after just a few bites. My boyfriend ordered the Bistec with eggs, and it was just as delicious! It went wonderfully with the potatoes and the molcajete sauce. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for a fantastic brunch! Came here with a group of 5 to celebrate my mom's birthday for brunch. The inside is tastefully decorated with modern minimalist touches. Seating is fairly limited, medium sized space. Be ready to wait if you're in a large group. Once seated, we had conchas brought over immediately and our drink orders taken. We had looked at menus while we waited so expedite the ordering process. We ordered the brunch molcajete, blackberry stuffed French toast, chilaquiles embarazados with chicken (2) then shared it all. Everything tasted amazing each bite I tried tasted so freshly cooked, flavorful, and carefully crafted. Loved this restaurant and already want to have another celebration to come back! We were on a hike this am and went to yelp for a good breakfast spot. Yelp brought us here Almuerzo cafe. It's more like a popular modern Mexican brunch spot in Tustin, known for its chilaquiles, seasonal lattes, and cozy atmosphere, offering a fusion of traditional and contemporary breakfast and lunch There was a bit of a wait when we arrived but not bad. Service was normal. Inside it was smaller than I thought (a little tight for my liking) not sure what I was expecting but it lack some flavor not bad tho. Dishes looked nice for pictures. This place was so good! The staff was so friendly and attentive. We were greeted as soon as we walked up to the door. When you're seated, they give you a basket with conchas. They were really good and not stale like some conchas I've had before from bakeries. I got an iced cafe de olla and their oven baked French toast. My boyfriend got the chilaquiles with their Chipotle sauce and added steak. I wish it was spicier, but that is a personal preference. It had a ton of flavor and was super filling. The decor and color pallete they had was so cute and comforting. The mana playing in the background was such a staple, too. Honestly, great place to have breakfast or just get a coffee. read more

My buddy has been raving about Almuerzo Café for weeks, sending me tempting photos, so today I finally went with my dad for breakfast--and we were blown away. The café itself is beautiful, with a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The Mexican music playing in the background was unfamiliar to me, but it added a pleasant, authentic touch that we both enjoyed. Service was excellent. Our server not only took great care of us but also shared some friendly banter with my dad, which he clearly appreciated. Coffee was spot-on, and the complimentary basket of pan dulce (sweet bread) was a phenomenal way to start the meal. I ordered the chilaquiles with chorizo, served with two eggs and refried beans. Every bite was delicious--comforting, flavorful, and satisfying. Even though the café was busy, with people waiting for tables, we never felt rushed. We had plenty of time to relax and enjoy each other's company, which made the experience even better. We're already planning our return to try more dishes. Hats off to whoever brought this wonderful café to the area--it exceeded our expectations, and I hope it continues to thrive just as much as we enjoyed our visit. read more

The restaurant itself is very nicely designed and was bustling on a Sunday morning. We found ourselves with a couple seats at the bar to avoid a long wait. We were met with a couple of pan dulce which were slightly sweet with almost a croissant type texture. My wife and I each got an order of the chilaquiles -- one with red salsa and chorizo, and the other with green salsa and steak. Both orders were very tasty and we had enough to take home. Would totally recommend and we'll be back to try the rest of the menu. read more

Wrong place for that. It's the only thing on the menu that was a miss for us. Save your time & money and get it somewhere else ;)
