Chilaquiles
Raven R.

This is a fun place for brunch! It gets pretty crowded during the weekends so expect a wait. The parking lot is small so I parked in the plaza across the street. The place is clean and beautifully decorated and the staff is very nice. I love that the complimentary pan dulce that they bring to the table! It's soft and fluffy with the iconic sugary top. We got the stuffed blackberry french toast and chilaques. Stuffed Blackberry French Toast- You get buttery brioche stuffed with a blackberry cream cheese filling. The filling is creamy and decadent with a good amount of blackberry jam. Finished with powdered sugar and lechera. Chilaquiles- This is a fun take on chilaquiles. The tortillas are stuffed with mozarella cheese and fried until it's crisp with a gooey, cheesy middle. Finished with red and green salsa. Great experience overall!

Really disappointing experience. We waited about 40 minutes just to get seated. Once we were finally seated, we ordered an iced café de olla and chilaquiles. The food was okay, but definitely not worth that kind of wait. I also ordered toast, which came out soggy and overly sugary. The biggest issue was the service. Our server never came back to check on us at all. After waiting about 25 minutes, we finally had to get up and ask for boxes and the check ourselves. The waiter saw me trying to get his attention but just kept walking. The host was the only one who helped right away, which I appreciated, but overall the experience was frustrating. I wouldn't come back. The food is mid

I found a new hidden gem in Tustin. Almuerzo Cafe staff were so friendly and attentive. I loved the classic European paintings, like the Mona Lisa and Girl with the Pearl Earring, holding lattes. I was a cute touch for their decor. The food was fantastic, but I didn't love their lattes. I had the vanilla latte and I didn't really taste the coffee. There was too much milk and with a hint of vanilla. My friend loved the cookie butter latte, but I didn't like the flavor. All this didn't really matter to me because they also give you complimentary mini conchas. Pan con cafe can really fix anything! To share, we tried the molletes. The chorizo and papas are served on warm and soft bolillos topped with avocados, pickled onions, and a chipotle and avocado salsa. It's a bit much to share for two people but perfect for a group of 4. For the mains, we ordered chicken and waffles and the chilaquiles embarazados. My friend LOVED the chicken and waffles. I thought they had such a pretty presentation and she really enjoyed the waffle. The green sauce on the chilaquiles was spicy, but nothing I couldn't handle. It's served with frijolitos, eggs any style you like them, and a fresh bolillo. It was so unique and flavorful. We arrived there around 9 am-ish. When we left, there was a bit of a line, so we beat the crowd. They do take reservations, but you may need to make them in person. They don't have a phone number and I don't see an option on open table or Yelp. I would be willing to wait in that big line for this spot, the food is delicious.

Almuerzo Café in Tustin is a cozy, aesthetically pleasing spot for breakfast and brunch with authentic flavors. They are known for flavorful breakfast like the Empanadas, Molcajete, Bistec and huevos. The Churro waffle and Stuffed blackberry French toast are the best I have had. Their specialty lattes are declious. It is a popular, bustling spot that is highly recommended for its quality food.

Pan Dulce to start. Vanilla Latte was delicious!!

I've been wanting to try this place for the longest time. TikTok influenced me. Lol. It was sooooo good!! The service was great. Everything we tried was spot on. As a Mexican American who grew up in Los Angeles, I know what proper Mexican food should taste like. And this place was exactly that!! I ordered the bistec & huevos. Omg so good. The hubs got the two meat omelet. To drink, Jamaica and a Vanilla latte. We'll be back to try other dishes!!

Food is great, but the service (in my experience) has been a hit AND a miss. My first time here was a pleasant experience (which is why I came back), and would have been a 5-star review if I had left it at that time. Service was on point. But, my 2nd time here was disappointing. As usual on the weekend, there were plenty of people outside waiting who were already on the wait list. We approached the host inside and were told the wait time (~20-25 minutes) and were also told that we could sit at the bar if space became available. Luckily, at that moment a couple was leaving and we went ahead and claimed our spot at the bar. Once the table was cleared and ready for us, we sat down and were given our menus. After looking at the menu for a very short period of time, we were ready to order and placed the menus down on the counter. It took about 20 minutes for someone to come take our order. The worker in front of us who was behind the bar counter the whole time ignored us and even took the order from the couple next to us AND the couple that sat down after us at the opposite end. Only when the manager happened to be waiting for drinks to bus to a table, did she acknowledge us and ask how everything was going. Other than that, the food we ordered this time (and the previous time) were tasty. We've had the following items (separate times): - Bistec & Huevos (the meat is super tasty!) - Chilaquiles (Rojos) - Chilaquiles Embarazados - Huevos Divorciados All of the above are great options. Parking is limited and trickles to the area behind 7 Eleven. Would I come back? Maybe, maybe not. If I do I'd definitely pass at sitting at the bar area for the sake of getting good, proper service.

Been here a few times now and it's a cute little brunch cafe with nicely crafted menu. You can't go wrong with anything you order and their drinks were top notch, including their ceremonial grade matcha. I've tried the chilaquiles, enchiladas, steak & eggs, enmoladas, French toast, and they were all delicious. Service is great but at times you do need to kind of flag them down because they do get busy. The complimentary conchas are definitely a nice touch.

BlackBerry stuffed French toast - best item I tasted!

Came here with a group of 5 to celebrate my mom's birthday for brunch. The inside is tastefully decorated with modern minimalist touches. Seating is fairly limited, medium sized space. Be ready to wait if you're in a large group. Once seated, we had conchas brought over immediately and our drink orders taken. We had looked at menus while we waited so expedite the ordering process. We ordered the brunch molcajete, blackberry stuffed French toast, chilaquiles embarazados with chicken (2) then shared it all. Everything tasted amazing each bite I tried tasted so freshly cooked, flavorful, and carefully crafted. Loved this restaurant and already want to have another celebration to come back! Servers were all funny, personable, attentive and kind.

My sister is a patron of Almuerzo which is Spanish for Lunch. She invited me here for to enjoy a moment of sibling bonding time. We sat down at one of the booth's. There was a yelper who mentioned loud music playing. We didn't get that on this day, probably because it was a Monday. But the music was lovely. The server greeted with some fresh conchitas and ice water. There were 2 pink ones and a yellow one (I think it's Vanilla). I opted for the vanilla one. They also offered cafe de olla which was more on the spicer side - but because I already had coffee, I just had water. For food, I went for Chilaquiles Rojo's and my sister opted for the Verdes. It came with a side of 2 eggs, beans and a bolillo. This would be part of the traditional Mexican breakfast and perfect for a cold morning. The flavor profile of chilaquiles rojos included what I think is a bit of old oil with the red chipotle or ancho? sauce - the sauce was the perfect - I just felt a the chips were covered in too much oil. I tried my sister's green one and decided her's was a lot better. She agreed after trying mine. I'll be sure to get that next time. The eggs were cooked perfectly as was the beans with the bolillo. We chatted for a bit over the food before leaving but I would recommend everyone trying this place out for brunch.

This review is for November 22, 2025. It was our first visit, and honestly, we weren't quite sure what to expect! We were looking for a new brunch spot and stumbled upon this one through some TikTok videos. We arrived around 12:45 PM and were added to the waitlist. The wait times can vary, but we only waited about 20-25 minutes. The restaurant has a cozy vibe and lovely decor! To kick things off, our waiter surprised us with some complimentary fresh conchas, which were absolutely delicious! They paired perfectly with the cookie butter latte--definitely a 10/10. Since it was our first experience there, we asked our waiter for some recommendations. I was torn between the regular and stuffed chilaquiles, and he highly recommended the stuffed ones. He described them as being somewhat like ravioli, which made me laugh! I went with his suggestion, opting for half mole and half salsa verde--100/10 for sure! The dish came with pickled onions, cheese, beans, eggs, and a bolio, and honestly, I was full after just a few bites. My boyfriend ordered the Bistec with eggs, and it was just as delicious! It went wonderfully with the potatoes and the molcajete sauce. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for a fantastic brunch! The service was outstanding, and I can't wait to return and try more dishes.

Been here a few times and food is mostly great. Don't order the steaks. They have low quality meat that's chewy AF and served raw with a butter knife.

Great, authentic, homey food; this is one of our go-to spots whenever we're in Tustin. It's definitely popular, so be prepared for a bit of a wait, but it's worth it. The service is consistently attentive and accommodating, which makes the experience even better. Parking can be a bit tricky since it gets busy, so plan ahead.

Cafe de olla soooo good and free refills

We were on a hike this am and went to yelp for a good breakfast spot. Yelp brought us here Almuerzo cafe. It's more like a popular modern Mexican brunch spot in Tustin, known for its chilaquiles, seasonal lattes, and cozy atmosphere, offering a fusion of traditional and contemporary breakfast and lunch There was a bit of a wait when we arrived but not bad. Service was normal. Inside it was smaller than I thought (a little tight for my liking) not sure what I was expecting but it lack some flavor not bad tho. Dishes looked nice for pictures. Was just ok for me. Mostly likely won't be back but glad we got to try it. Cafe the olla was delicious and of course the complimentary concha's was a hit.

Smiling, she said, "Let's celebrate with Spanish tapas." So the beautiful day began with milk tea and chocolate before we headed to the newly opened restaurant Fat of the Land for their Mother's Day brunch, conveniently located on North Main Street in Santa Ana. I later found out it was a special Sunday brunch created just for Mother's Day. Thanks to my daughter's reservation, we were seated right away. The menu selection was smaller than usual, probably because of the special brunch menu, but every tapas dish sounded delicious. We ordered the Castelvetrano olives, Galician smoked paprika octopus, French steak tartare, and Basque cheesecake, paired with a Fiero Spritz and Red Sangria. Both the octopus and steak tartare were outstanding. The Galician smoked paprika octopus was tender, flavorful, and carried just the right hint of spice. The French steak tartare was served on crispy toasted bread with cheese sprinkled on top -- a creative and delicious twist on a classic dish. Fat of the Land truly feels like a hidden gem, and I had such a wonderful time celebrating Mother's Day with my daughter there.

They're located in a high foot traffic plaza. Parking will be difficult to find. Ambiance/Environment: We visited on a Saturday evening around 19:30, and it was extremely busy. Service: Thank you Mia for taking care of us! She's very attentive, and throughput was surprisingly quick & efficient despite how busy it was. She also checked on us multiple times and refilled our waters. Food & drinks: We absolutely enjoyed everything! Safe to say the hype is real. 1) Curry Crab Omelette - This is my favorite dish. This was presented on a small skillet with rice in a separate bowl. The omelette was drenched in curry. The curry was seasoned well, semi thick consistency, with a hint of spice. 2) Vietnamese Shaken Beef (one w/ garlic noodles & one w/ rice) - I personally prefer the shaken beef at Vox. For whatever reason, the beef seemed to be overcooked bc it was very chewy. The vegetables tasted as expected, and the red rice was really delicious. The garlic noodles were good. 3) Lemongrass Tofu - The tofu was cooked well and seasoned deliciously. 4) 5-Spice Roasted Chicken - Exactly what the description says. The roasted chicken was huge. We weren't sure exactly what it was seasoned with, but we all devoured it. Yum! 5) Lychee Milk Punch - It's not dinner without alcohol. I thought it was pretty strong with the rum & whiskey. It's more on the sweeter end from the lychee & pineapple. The foam wasn't too thick, and it paired well with the drink. Pricing: These are elevated prices. We'll definitely be back for dinner, and we can't wait to try their brunch. Highly recommend joining the Kei Rewards!

The pictures and reviews of the French omelette with caviar and sourdough pancakes sold us! When we arrived, the parking situation was seamless and easy to find a spot. The place isn't big but the aesthetic is clean and simple. You go up to the register to get seated. There was a wait list since this is a cozy spot but they had chairs available outside of the entrance. The time waiting was little longer than promised but not too bad. Once we were called to our table, we had iced water cups on the table with the menus and table settings. We already knew what we wanted - a horchata iced latte and a steak breakfast burrito for me and a black strap molasses iced latte and crispy chicken sando for my bestie. We also got sourdough pancakes and the cinnamon roll to share. The coffee came first then food was pretty quickly after and presentation was beautiful. The breakfast burrito was so delicious. The scrambled eggs in the burrito were cooked perfectly and they had a perfect amount of steak pieces. They brought a strawberry haberno hot sauce for the table and it made it even tastier. I preferred that sauce over the side of green sauce. I then tried a bite of the chicken sando and wow the flavor you get in the bite was also so, so good. We also enjoyed the sourdough pancakes with the crispy edges and the cinnamon roll had the perfect amount of cinnamon! This cinnamon roll had pistachio pieces on top and it wasn't too overwhelming. As for the iced lattes, I preferred my bestie's latte more than the horchata one. The horchata one had a burnt aftertaste. Other than that, food and service was TOP NOTCH! The ingredients were fresh, and the combination was enjoyable, but I felt it was missing a little something to make it truly memorable. If you're looking for a solid burger experience, it's worth a try, but it may not be my first choice for next time. the burger was decent, it didn't quite blow me away. I would rate the Frisco burger a solid 3 out of 5. It was decent, but I expected a bit more to make it truly stand out. My boyfriend would rate it a 4/5 since it was okay for him. French fries were crispy and well-cooked, with a nice golden-brown color. They had a satisfying crunch on the outside, while remaining fluffy on the inside. I would have appreciated some dipping sauces or seasoning options on the side to enhance them a bit more. I would give the French fries a 3/5. They were decent but didn't quite wow me. Horchata was refreshing and creamy, with a lovely balance of sweetness and cinnamon spice. The texture was smooth, providing a comforting drink that complemented my meal well. I would rate the horchata a 4/5 since I have to mix mine to get the horchata flavor. Carne asada nacho fries were crispy and golden, providing the perfect foundation for all the amazing toppings. Generously layered with tender, seasoned carne asada, each bite was a wonderful blend of savory beef and crunchy fries. The melted cheese added a rich creaminess that brought everything together, while the pico de gallo contributed a refreshing burst of flavor. I love the chop chilies personally. The finishing touches of guacamole and sour cream added just the right amount of creaminess and zest. This is absolutely my favorite meal. My boyfriend and I would rate the carne asada nacho fries a perfect 5/5--an outstanding fusion of flavors and textures. The service was fast & employee is very nice and friendly. The store has a great atmosphere, spacious, and clean. There is plenty of parking. I'm only giving it a 4 because of the burger. I would definitely come back here to try their other food alternatives.
