We can so close to after brunch they allowed me to get the brunch waffles. It took a long time for our food. I really think only 2 people were working. Our server was nice and attentive. But the handful of people seemed overworked and it didn't seem busy. I'll maybe try them again on different day to see if the food is a bit better. Hubby liked the sliders.

Alma Kitchen is one of the best casual restaurants in the Grosse Pointes. The restaurant is beautiful, the service is good, and the food is excellent and flavorful. It's a good place to have lunch and dinner with friends. My menu favorites are the Stuffed Salmon and the Brutus Chicken Sandwich. There is free parking outside the restaurant and on the street.

I love Alma. Their prices are fair & food is yummy! I love the seafood crepes. The lettuce wraps are also really good - especially the sauce that comes with them. Friendly service.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming initially the menu didn't highlight vegan options so I would recommend asking your wait staff for the vegan menu with annotations. I opted for the vegan tofu dish and it was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the aesthetic of the restaurant it was beautiful and the decor was relaxing. My only strife for me and my guest were the flies. I understand that it's summer so whenever you open the door thousands of them attempt to get in but it took away from the dining experience. Overall the food was delicious we will definitely be returning again minus the flies likely in winter.

Alma kitchen has become somewhat of a staple in our family, being an easy favorite of my husband and brother's. Oftentimes when thinking of a location for weekend brunch, this is an easy choice. We've also been here for celebratory lunches and birthdays. The space is expansive with lots of seating making it great for larger groups. Hats off to the servers for managing this! The menu is huge with lots of variety and well-priced, so there is something for everyone.

I've been here multiple times with large parties, no one has ever been disappointed with their meal. Every dish here is very well thought out, rich, and executed. Each meal uses lots of different ingredients, nothing is simple here and you can really tell. My favorite meals are the Cajun salmon burger and the Asian black pepper shrimp. Group favorites are always the vodka chicken parm and biscuits and gravy. Service has always been fine. A few interesting decorations to look around at.

Y3Ssss I Highly RECOMMEND this spot, WHY b/c location is 10 mins away, so we're going to frequent this spot. Started w/a cup chicken Tortilla soup, traditional taste, enjoyable. Ma ordered the beef tenderloin, veggie medley (zucchini, mushrooms) over a gravy w/ potatoes, all seasoned very flavorful! I ordered the chicken (crispy/hot) skillet, w/ red skin potatoes, peppers, chorizo, onions, topped w/ egg & pepperjack cheese, dousted w/ hot sauce, VERY delicious. It would be cool if they had some kinda warm bread & butter as a prelude. For drinks, the cinnamon old fashion was yum & refreshing. To top off dinner, carrot cake for dessert, nice size slice, they said it was homemade, ate lata w/ van ice cream, SLAPP!N! I'd give them a 9 b/c service was quite pleasant. Only downside... they need better ventilation in the washroom. The decor & artwork in the space embraced traditional heritage Alma's Kitchen was born from a blend of cultures. I love their origin story, ask them about it when ya visit! Overall plz check out this spot out soon & support their familial team.

Everything at Alma is amazing. Quality ingredients, large portions, delicious classics. Excellent service from Danielle the bartender and Laila, a seasonal server.

We've been by here a bunch of times and today we finally had time to try it and it exceeded all expectations. Clean, a bit modern decor with some excellent art outside and inside. All the staff was super friendly, came by multiple times to make sure we didn't need anything and that the food was good. I'll start with drinks, the spicy Bloody Mary was excellent balance of flavors and the coffee was a medium to dark roast very wonderful flavor, loved it was served with the little cup of creamer. We got the fried chicken lollipop(wings) had an excellent crunch with with an excellent sweet/spicy/tangy sauce, I would say the heat level is probably mild plus to medium as far as heat level. Wasn't sure what to expect with the churro donuts but they truly were a churro donut, the crunchy outside and soft pillowy inside nicely dusted with cinnamon and sugar and a freshly made caramel sauce not a sauce from a jar. My husband got the Loco Moco which I got to try a little and the brown gravy is amazing, could probably put that on anything. Loved the Chicken Chilaquiles kind of breakfast nacho for anyone who hasn't had Chilaquiles. You can tell they make all the components themselves, had such wonderful flavor. I think I would prefer some over easy eggs with the Chilaquiles but they were still really excellent.

Bill for 1. Gratuity is included. Spinach and artichoke dip, Mi Cherry BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, and a Sprite.

*Visited on July 19th for lunch* I recently had lunch at Alma Kitchen on a Wednesday afternoon. Despite being busier than I expected, it wasn't overwhelmingly crowded. This wasn't my first visit, and it's always a great low-key spot for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Located on the border of Detroit and Grosse Pointe, the restaurant has a good-sized space and a private parking lot, so street parking isn't necessary. The service was quick in getting my food out, but my waitress only checked on me a few times. For example, when I was ready for the bill, it took a little longer than expected for her to return. I even thought she might have finished her shift and someone else had taken over. Nonetheless, it wasn't a major issue that would deter me from returning. I ordered a Sprite and water, an appetizer of spinach dip, and a pulled pork sandwich as my main course. The spinach dip was delicious, earning a 4/5, and came with real pita bread chips instead of the usual thin ones. The pulled pork sandwich was also a 4/5; it was a bit spicy, but I didn't mind that. Gratuity is included on every bill, which was fine with me as a solo diner. My total came to about $30. The environment is cool and not too loud, though the tables are a bit close together. Overall, I had a good experience and would return. I recommend Alma Kitchen if you're in the area. Rating:

Brutus Chicken Sandwich

I had lunch here about a week ago with some friends. They frequent this spot quite often but it was my first time. Nice ambiance. Dope layout and design of the restaurant. This would have to be a nice place to have a party or small get-together. The menu consist mostly of bar food. I ordered the chicken sandwich which was ok. It comes with a side of fries. I also ordered the shrimp/crap Rangoons as an appetizer. I really did not like the rangoons. The filling was really good but the outside was kind of soggy. I would retry the restaurant to check out the brunch menu as well.

Since I'm on this side of town dog sitting, I finally said I'm going here and did the drive in this cold weather. Walking in, it's smaller here than I anticipated. Limited seating and parking, FYI. Not good for large groups since there was literally only one table in the corner for maybe a party of four. More of a two person place to grab a quick bite. The menu is good with tons of options and lots of drinks. I wasn't feeling the booze so I stuck with Sprite and water. My server was friendly and attentive and checked in on me regularly. I got two of the regular sliders with a side of cheesy fries. Everything's ala carte here, so be prepared to spend a little more than normal. Food was great, and I really enjoyed myself here. The trick is to come here when it's not busy so you can dine in. I'm sure during the summer they may have outdoor seating, but since it's the dead of winter, not so much. Overall a great experience. After tip, my bill was $25 for two sliders, pop and cheesy fries. I'm glad I got to visit here and would recommend it to others. Love the menu selection of food.

We were celebrating a birthday, so we decided to pull out all the stops -- and I'm really glad we did. I'll say right up front that the prices are a little higher than what I would normally spend on a meal, but honestly, it was absolutely worth it. They started us off with garlic bread that was incredibly delicious, and from there the experience only got better. Our server, Andrew, was fantastic. He mentioned that they might have been a little short-handed and apologized that he felt he couldn't be as attentive as he normally would be, but honestly, we never would have known. He did an excellent job keeping our water glasses full and making sure we were taken care of throughout the evening. At our table, we ordered the Chicken al Pastaio, Spaghetti Carbonara, Gnocchi Romana, and I had the Chicken Parmigiano. Every dish was excellent. I sampled a few bites from the other plates and genuinely enjoyed all of them. The real highlight for me, though, was the Beggar's Purse appetizer. It was pasta filled with goat cheese and pear, and it was absolutely divine. I can completely understand why they also offer it as a main course because I could have happily eaten an entire plate of it. For dessert, we shared cheesecake and tiramisu. The cheesecake was more traditional than what you'd typically get at places like The Cheesecake Factory, which caught me a little off guard at first, but it was still excellent. The tiramisu was also delicious, and we all got a good laugh when one of our guests accidentally inhaled a little cocoa powder off the top and started coughing and sneezing at the table. It honestly just added to the fun of the evening. At the end of the night, nothing we ordered disappointed, the service was wonderful, and it turned out to be a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. We'll definitely be back.
