Porcetta sandwich - note the apple slices and Dijon mustard
    Richard T.

Wow! Gourmet sandwiches at Subway prices. All the sandwiches are fresh and the porcetta is made on a daily basis. Once it's done for the day you need to come back the next! Menu is on a chalkboard. Pricing is for half or whole sandwich. How can you go wrong for a porcetta sandwich for $7.99. The blackened fish sandwich is amazing. Small seating area up front. Restaurant run by a husband and wife from Vancouver. Definitely will be back!!!

Above: pulled pork, fries, yam chipotle cream soup Below: blackened fish, fries, toss salad (strawberry balsamic)

Came here today for a late Valentine's Day lunch date. I heard the place was small but busy so I was happy to find a few tables free! It's very straightforward as there's a ORDER HERE sign right in front of you when you walk in. On your left is a wall chalk menu. Our cashier was a guy with glasses and a beard who was friendly and patient! He answered any questions I had and it was just great customer service. My boyfriend and I both had the half sandwich plus two sides and a lemonade/iced tea combo. He had the half pulled pork sandwich with fries, yam chipotle cream soup, and iced tea. I had the half blackened fish sandwich (sauce on the side with fries, toss salad (no cheese and cashier recommended strawberry balsamic bc it was a popular pick and I was frazzled because they only had fancy sounding dressings I wasn't familiar with), and lemonade. My boyfriend enjoyed everything except the soup. He devoured his sandwich. He said the soup texture weirded him out as it was akin to baby food. Fries were basic. The iced tea is an apple iced tea and it was very tasty! Before I got my food, I didn't think half a sandwich was going to fill me up but when it arrived it looked like a full size sandwich I'd find at a diner. The blackened fish was tasty and I'm still trying to figure out if I like their lemon basil aioli. I don't like tartar sauce or cream based sauces but I didn't hate this one. See I'm just running in circles. The sandwich came with mixed greens, chopped tomatoes, and sliced red onions. The toss salad had mixed greens, sliced radish, carrots, chopped tomatoes, and corn. The strawberry balsamic was very good! I was surprised bc I had a bad experience with a strawberry/raspberry balsamic before. The fries were standard. The lemonade was great! A super cute date spot and tasty spot to fill you up! I'm going to go back and try their braised beef and rib-eye sandwiches!

Sweet potato soup, half a sandwich.

A delightful little corner sandwich shop with gourmet soups and sides. I stopped here for a quick bite in Windsor with my family before we took the VIA train to Toronto. There are other businesses nearby, but street parking was free and relatively easy to come by. It's a fast-casual concept place, where you order at the counter then go sit. Not a large restaurant, but maybe room for 20ppl at about 5 tables. I ordered a half sandwich, half salad combo which also comes with a small side (soup or fries). This lunch combo was the most popular option amongst my party and made for a nice balanced meal with everything you could want to taste. The menu is a little heavy on the meat options with just a few select vegetarian items - but as the name Carvery indicades, this is a meat-centric place. Overall I'm giving the food a 10 out of 10. The sandwiches were well made and better than anything you could find at a chain fast-casual restaurant. The sweet potato soup was delicious and well presented. The arnold-palmer lemonade tea combo was great. The "hot bacon" dressing on my salad was indeed hot and made with real bacon. I shouldn't have been surprised - but I was. What a great twist on salad dressing. I'd definitely come back here to try more of the menu. It was all delicious.

The chalkboard menu. Love this place!

The Sandwiches. Really thats all that needs to be said about this place, we have been back many times and I like to order different choices, every one has been "my new favourite" My partner has the herb chicken and every time and would recommend it highly.

    Part of their menu.

Wow.....came here because it was on my list of places to try in Windsor and brought my sister along with me. I've followed this restaurant on Instagram for a while and their sandwiches always look so tasty. We were not disappointed! I had the half herb chicken which was excellent. The chicken was sliced just right and the basil aioli just added something extra to the sandwich. The French fries with their seasoning were also delicious! The staff were friendly and helpful and the decor was charming. I can't wait to take my hubby here to try another sandwich.

The ribeye and herbed chicken we ordered

We ordered take out from here and found it quite nice. Service: 8/10 Our server was friendly and made some good recommendations on the menu and drinks. He even asked me how I'd like my steak cooked for my steak sandwich, something that reinforced my confidence that the steak would be fresh and delicious. Ambiance: 7/10 Although we didn't choose to eat in we both liked the small layout of the resistant. It seemed like a nice place for a lunch date or a casual dinner with a friend, although the space is quite small Food: 6.5/10 We ordered the ribeye steak sandwich, and the herbed chicken sandwich, both with fries. The fries were perfect, crisp and think cut. We finished most of them in the car on the way home as we couldn't wait to dig into them. The sandwiches were good, but we both agreed they were overdressed with sauce. This made them somewhat watery and messy to eat. This also meant that the flavor of the sauce seemed to overpower most other things in the sandwich. Overall we'll probably go back and try a different sandwich, and definitely reorder the fries.

They are a good options for a bit of a healthier alternative to lunch. They have a good selection of wraps, salads and three daily soups. Today, I went in the afternoon on my lunch, and ordered the Greek Wrap, which included a mix of iceburg and romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, feta, red onions, and olives (which I omitted) and a choice of dressing, I chose the creamy Greek feta dressing all on a whole wheat wrap. The three ladies who were working, all made part of my wrap, adding the ingredients to making the wrap itself. They were fast and efficient when I went to order to pay for my wrap. The prices are really expensive though, for a wrap, and even for the salads. So this is a once in a while kind of treat for me. I'm sure it's a better deal if you order one of their combo's, which I did not because none of the soups appealed to me today. With taxes my wrap came to over $8. Service is fast, efficient and friendly while being delicious all at the same time. Apparently there are two other locations here in Windsor, but this location here in the mall is the closest one for me to get to. Definitely will come back if I feel like trying another wrap, or a salad.

Hubby and I laughed at how many times we zipped past the restaurant without noticing it. My husband and I both ordered the Major Tom Khatsu, which has a coconut chicken broth base. The chicken katsu pieces were the perfect level of crispy without being heavily breaded. There was also a nice little kick to the dish, which made it so, so yummy. Our friends got the Shoyu ramen with pork belly, and the Corned Beef ramen. The Shoyu dish seemed to be more enjoyable. Though we stuck with water, cans of Faygo pop seemed to be the drink offerings - other than alcoholic beverages. Areas for improvement include the waiting. Johnny Noodle King is a small place, with a main dining area and then what seems to be a bar area attached. We initially waited by the door for our table along with another small group (we were a party of four). We were then asked to go to the bar area to wait so that it would clear the door, but found it interesting how we were asked to move but not the other group. Also, we were standing away from the doormat we were not obstructing anyone's movements. The wait was long, and we asked if we could order food to the bar area (as opposed to waiting for a table). We were told 'no', yet there was a table full of patrons who were eating. There was no notification system, so our friend had to keep going to the front to see if our table was ready. Don't get me wrong; 'hooray' to Johnny Noodle King for having such great business volume. However, they need a way to manage it so that people will not be put off. Once we were seated, we did have good service from our waitstaff, and the food was very good. My husband and I plan to return to explore more of the menu. Hopefully, we can pick a time of day when waiting won't be such a big issue.
