As the name suggests, soup is the primary focus but make sure you order a couple side dishes to get the full Beautiful Soup experience. What does this mean? Each dish is prepared with the UTMOST care & attention to detail (from the ingredients, plating and menu design). WHAT I LOVE MOST is everything is made from scratch, seasonal & local ingredients are used (means the menu* changes each time), the price is just right ($12 will get you soup, 2 sides, and dessert & the portions are well balanced), everything is scrumptious, AND most importantly the TLC that goes into making each dish really shines thru - love it! FAVORITE DISHES: Cauliflower Fritters, Quinoa Salad, Kale & Brussels Sprout Salad, Harvest Frittata....oh and try any of their desserts - ALL are excellent! FAVORITE SOUPS: Lemon Rice, Pumpkin, Lemony Lentil and Mulligatawny. Def try to make it to the next Beautiful Soup event! : ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Check their FB page to keep up to date on when they'll be hosting their monthly lunches & dinners at MOCAD, upcoming cooking classes, and what type of soups are available at The Bottom Line Coffeehouse (over in the Midtown/WSU campus area) during the week. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - *Vegan & Gluten-Free options are available

They are a good options for a bit of a healthier alternative to lunch. They have a good selection of wraps, salads and three daily soups. Today, I went in the afternoon on my lunch, and ordered the Greek Wrap, which included a mix of iceburg and romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, feta, red onions, and olives (which I omitted) and a choice of dressing, I chose the creamy Greek feta dressing all on a whole wheat wrap. The three ladies who were working, all made part of my wrap, adding the ingredients to making the wrap itself. They were fast and efficient when I went to order to pay for my wrap. The prices are really expensive though, for a wrap, and even for the salads. So this is a once in a while kind of treat for me. I'm sure it's a better deal if you order one of their combo's, which I did not because none of the soups appealed to me today. With taxes my wrap came to over $8. Service is fast, efficient and friendly while being delicious all at the same time. Apparently there are two other locations here in Windsor, but this location here in the mall is the closest one for me to get to. Definitely will come back if I feel like trying another wrap, or a salad.

Hubby and I laughed at how many times we zipped past the restaurant without noticing it. My husband and I both ordered the Major Tom Khatsu, which has a coconut chicken broth base. The chicken katsu pieces were the perfect level of crispy without being heavily breaded. There was also a nice little kick to the dish, which made it so, so yummy. Our friends got the Shoyu ramen with pork belly, and the Corned Beef ramen. The Shoyu dish seemed to be more enjoyable. Though we stuck with water, cans of Faygo pop seemed to be the drink offerings - other than alcoholic beverages. Areas for improvement include the waiting. Johnny Noodle King is a small place, with a main dining area and then what seems to be a bar area attached. We initially waited by the door for our table along with another small group (we were a party of four). We were then asked to go to the bar area to wait so that it would clear the door, but found it interesting how we were asked to move but not the other group. Also, we were standing away from the doormat we were not obstructing anyone's movements. The wait was long, and we asked if we could order food to the bar area (as opposed to waiting for a table). We were told 'no', yet there was a table full of patrons who were eating. There was no notification system, so our friend had to keep going to the front to see if our table was ready. Don't get me wrong; 'hooray' to Johnny Noodle King for having such great business volume. However, they need a way to manage it so that people will not be put off. Once we were seated, we did have good service from our waitstaff, and the food was very good. My husband and I plan to return to explore more of the menu. Hopefully, we can pick a time of day when waiting won't be such a big issue.

They do have a dining room, but my order didn't give me an option to mark it "for here," which added to the confusion. Despite the place not being busy, it took about 25 minutes to get my food. When it finally arrived, the grilled cheese was a miss. It was served on a flatbread and came out rock-hard--so tough it was barely edible--like it had been overcooked. The soup did arrive with it, but the overall meal didn't feel worth the wait. Customer service was another weak spot. There wasn't much guidance or engagement, which made the ordering process and the delay more frustrating. I had high hopes for Soup Dive, but this visit was disappointing. If you've got plenty of time for lunch, you might give it a try, but it's not a great option for a quick bite. I'd love to see improvements in the ordering flow, speed, and food quality--there's potential here, but it didn't come through on this visit.
