Let me start by saying customer service was not the best. I get they were busy, but not even a greeting. I walked in and didn't see anyone at all to order food. I didn't know you only could order on the kiosk and had to use a card. It said I could use cash, but was told no. So I ordered the gumbo soup and half a maple turkey sandwich. I ordered my sandwich only mayo (they were charging 1$ for mustard) so I didn't get it. They had lettuce and tomato and no mayo. They also grilled my sandwich and I said I didn't want it grilled. The gumbo was a gravy, not soup. There was a sprinkle of rice in there. The shrimps were nice pieces but that was the only good part. They didn't have anything that made it look or taste as gumbo. First impression wasn't great--I walked in and wasn't sure what to do, and apparently it's self-checkout. I ordered a tomato basil soup, a grilled cheese sandwich, and a Coke. They do have a dining room, but my order didn't give me an option to mark it "for here," which added to the confusion. Despite the place not being busy, it took about 25 minutes to get my food. When it finally arrived, the grilled cheese was a miss. It was served on a flatbread and came out rock-hard--so tough it was barely edible--like it had been overcooked. The soup did arrive with it, but the overall meal didn't feel worth the wait. Customer service was another weak spot. There wasn't much guidance or engagement, which made the ordering process and the delay more frustrating. I had high hopes for Soup Dive, but this visit was disappointing. If you've got plenty of time for lunch, you might give it a try, but it's not a great option for a quick bite. I'd love to see improvements in the ordering flow, speed, and food quality--there's potential here, but it didn't come through on this visit. read more

Nice quaint place. Nothing wrong with the customer service aside from a lil bait and switch. Although huge potential to be delicious, for a $10 beef stew you'd expect at least a few pieces of beef. This place is very efficient. You can order online or at the kiosk when you walk in the door. They do have a variety of soups daily. My go-to is the Kale and Black Beam and the White Bean soup. I've ordered the salmon croquettes. They are very good. But, they seem small for the order of what you pay. They also don't tell you on the menu that you will only get one salmon croquette under the menu item that says Salmon Croquettes. Service is friendly enough when they hand you your bag. I will return at some point. But there is no WOW factor to make it special. read more

Feeling under the weather, I ordered via GrubHub. The black eyed peas and kale soup is DELICIOUS. Not too heavily seasoned but has a pepper kick. I didn't need to add anything to this soup. I also purchased chicken noodle soup as well. I'm excited to go back again when I'm not sick. read more

I had a unbelievable craving for soup in the summer - judge me I'm anemic - and needed to get something on the go. The SOUP QUEENs are doing thing at the soup dive. The part that got me was 1- all the ingredients are at the highest quality available and 2- they don't compromise quality for challenges. I'd rather pay a bit more than have to question if the chicken is halal or the seafood is imatation. No faking the funk here, my soup was DELICIOUS. Salmon patty too. Tried soupdive and it was okay. I don't feel like it's somewhere I have to have again but also not something I would be completely opposed to if someone else suggested it. She wished for chicken noodle soup, the bonus was pound cake. The soup is a very basic soup. You would think very available! Nooo chicken noodle soup and NO POUND CAKE! My poor UberEats driver called to inform me my items were not available. I feel if anyone has a menu that says chicken noodle soup and pound cake, they should always have it. It's a staple. I've had their food from their food truck and was very impressed! The teriyaki chicken was moist and had a ton of flavor. The red skin mashed potatoes were good along w mixed vegetables and a nice size of corn bread. A very good lunch for $11 was worth it. This brought me to their Southfield location. I ordered the same thing but w spinach instead of mashed potatoes. In store price was a little higher at $12.50. The staff was super friendly. I would pass on the upgrade for spinach bc it didn't have much flavor. I again really enjoyed the flavor in the teriyaki chicken and the green dip. We get food trucks at work once a week and this one was awesome! Many people expected a variety of soups but it was so much more. They did have gumbo, chicken noodle and a tomato soup on the menu. I tried the wild Alaskan salmon fillet which came with two sides. I opted to get double veggies instead of the mashed potatoes. My friend ordered the salmon crockets. We both really enjoyed our meals, everything tasted very fresh. They make everything from scratch, have gluten free options and use healthy ingredients like extra virgin olive oil. Lord have mercy! When I tell you this food was so good... my husband and I walked in the house after ordering take out and as I opened up the food in the kitchen to plate it I started eating. I yelled to my husband "babe, come taste this!!". Lol I think he was scared thinking that the food was horrible. Yall, I'm literally in my kitchen, standing up, STILL eating and typing this. I almost did a praise dance... I just had to tell y'all how amazing this food is! We got the crab cake dinner, black eyed pea and kale soup and the chicken gumbo soup! This soup... the BEST black eyed pea soup I've ever tasted! No need for details, it was just that amazing! The cornbread was baked to fluffy perfection, I've never tasted kale sautéed so well, the seasoning on the roasted potatoes couldn't get any better and those damn crab cakes! Man! They are (I say "are" because I'm still eating) golden brown, moist, flavorful and have the most amazing crunch! *15 minutes later* I'm damn near in tears because I have 2 more scoops of soup and a bite of a crab cake left... I'll start by saying that Soup Dive has the friendly employees in town, hands down. You walk in and everyone greets you and asks your day is, they tell you to have w blessed day. Just all around nice people. Onto the food. They have a rotating selection of home made soups daily but the dive gumbo they have everyday and it's damn delicious! They serve it over white or brown rice and they are very generous with the amount of shrimp in it. I also tried their black bean soup which was outstanding. Aside from the obvious soup, they also offer sandwiches, salads and some entrées. I opted for the honey turkey on a gluten free wrap. It was fresh and very tasty. Whatever the secret sauce is that they use was excellent and refreshing. Ok so why 3 stars? Price point. For a small soup, medium soup and a wrap it was $30! That's quite steep in my opinion. I also didn't see prices posted anywhere so they kind of sucker you in with that. When you look at portion size and price it just does add up. That's an expensive lunch in my book. Also, I was the only person in the entire restaurant and yet it took over 20 mins for my wrap to be made. It's a wrap, served cold! So I found that to be extremely frustrating. I still love Soup Dive. It's my favorite place for not only soup, but homemade meals. I have tried the salmon croquettes with brown rice and steamed veggies or kale, the grilled shrimp over brown rice, and the veggie and black bean burgers. All of the meals are delicious, homemade, and most importantly not processed frozen foods. If I'm in a rush or don't want to wait for my order at the restaurant, I make sure to order ahead. I wish they were opened on Sundays, but they need a break too. Soup Dive, is a little pricey, but I believe that you get what you pay for. I like to cook and enjoying cooking on a somewhat regular basis, so I can tell when a restaurant uses frozen foods or the food isn't made from scratch. That definitely is not Soup Dive. For that alone, I don't mind the prices and my tummy always thanks me! read more

Came here for lunch with my best friend. She ordered the veggie burger and I ordered the chipotle black bean burger. We bother ordered a cup of the black eye pea/kale (or was it collard greens?) soup with cornbread. My veggie burger was perfection. It had a little char. It wasn't mushy and it had excellent taste. On top of that, they grilled my bun and who doesn't love THAT? The soup was delicious as well. I got it without rice (watching the carbs), but that didn't matter. It was delicious. Best side salad I've had in a while; fresh red leaf lettuce, golden beets, carrots, red cabbage, tomato and cranberries. Try the apple cider vinaigrette. I went in for chicken noodle soup because I wasn't feeling well. The soup was good. I would say great but chicken noodle soup is such a personal preference. The chicken noodle here is a little thickened and I prefer broth-y chicken noodle. Anyway, neither of those things is the best part! The unexpected corn bread was the best part. As others have mentioned, the soup portions are pricey and small, but the gumbo is really good! I got the Medium and it was 12 oz, so a cup and a half of soup. It had 6 shrimp that were large and perfectly cooked. The seasoning was really full bodied and flavourful. Definitely recommend the light and fluffy corn bread (it's more like cake!). My husband got a sandwich, which was pretty average tasting but large sized. The coleslaw was creamy and tangy. The smoothie was tasty and sweet. The real problem at this place is that they advertise GF, but the front of the house staff don't seem to understand how important this is. We ordered a GF grilled cheese for our son, who has celiac, and she first said they don't make that, they only have tomato bread. When we asked if it could be made on GF bread, she grumbled then agreed. When we went to pick up the food, we noticed that the receipt didn't have GF marked for that order so we checked. The sandwich was made with TOMATO BREAD- yes, GLUTEN tomato bread. What the heck?! She said they didn't have GF bread, they only had GF wraps. Well, that's not what we ordered, and our son is allergic to wheat! **Beware all celiac folks and those with wheat allergies, this is NOT a safe place to dine. They advertise GF, which could leave one to relax and believe that they know what they're doing in that department, but they put our son's health at risk. I attempted to order from this place twice online and each time once I arrive at the restaurant I was told "there's an issue with our online ordering and we didn't receive the order". This is not a place I would try if I was in a rush. It takes quite a while to receive your food if your order in person (forget trying to call they never answer).
