This was the worst and fastest pedicure/manicure ever. The quality was beneath substandard. It was as if I was watching someone mime through the motions and never really doing anything or touching my toes or fingers. I believe they were upset because I asked for non latex gloves due to an allergy I have. They didn't have any. From that point forward it was rush rush rush. The young man working on me did not even speak much English. read more

Only place that can handle my unibrow! Yea it's that bad. ;) You're in good hands with Cindy or anyone else for that matter. If only I had the time to try a manicure! Sigh... read more

The staff is very unfriendly, borderline rude. You walk in and basically have to cause a small scene to get someone's attention. The staff will turn around from doing pedicures after about 5 minutes and look annoyed, as if your business is unwelcome. They brusquely tell you to get a seat--and you can be waiting for up to 30 minutes. The facilities are fine, clean, and comfortable, but the people are so unpleasant that it makes the entire experience untenable. Also, getting a eyebrow, lip, or chin wax here is NOT A GOOD IDEA. The wax wasn't cleanly done--my eyebrow shape was good, but the wax broke some hairs halfway and gave me bumps on my upper lip. That hasn't happened since I was a teenager! The whole experience is very harried and you can tell the staff barely want you there. I got a French manicure here and it lasted for about 3 days. Very cheap. The only time I went back here was because Luxury Nail Spa (which is 5 minutes away and much better) is closed on Sundays. read more

I was a bit nervous because of the other reviews but honestly one of the BEST gel manicures I've gotten! They really did an amazing job and I'll definitely be coming back. read more

The environment is nice and pretty. Got a gel pedicure, a guy did it and he did a great job. They had a variety of colors to choose from and did well with shaping. The massage was the best part, you even get a hot rock Mack on your legs/feet. Thinking this pedicure will last me. Will be going back read more

I was just visiting Durham and had never been to this nail salon before. They were very friendly and were able to accommodate me without an appointment. Jenny did a fantastic job on my nails with the dip polish - one of the best manicures I have ever had! She let me try out a color on one finger before doing the whole manicure. She did an excellent job and was very knowledgeable!! read more

I have some mixed emotions about this place. The girl who did my nails seemed like she was just in a rush and kept trying to say I needed to relax my hands because she couldn't see which was bullshit because I was more than relaxed to where she could do whatever she needed to do. She rushed through painting my nails and didn't do a double layer so they're already fading. I think I just had the wrong person and will try someone else next time I go. read more

Their service is the worst. They kept telling us to wait and we've waited for 45 mins and no one helped us. A lady told my friend to put her finger in some kinda nail polisher and that burned her finger.. They finally came but with no sign to help. When we asked they said they had to do appointment first and asked very rudely whether we want to do it or leave. They asked us to pay even finished. This place is rude and ridiculous. I will not come again or recommend anyone to come. read more

Staff doesn't do a good job managing the store when there's lots of people and even moved us back to the end of the line despite having arrived much earlier than other folks who were tended to before us. read more

Arrived 12 minutes before they closed and the open light was on. I walked in asked about a fill in and eyebrow wax they said they were closed. I said what about the eyebrows they said no. I would not recommend this place read more

Very professionally run, nice decore and it seems like they have a lot of repeat customers. You can tell from the banter between the guests. Cindy took care of me. My first time here and I will be back. And it doesn't hurt that its located near the Chipotle :-) I got a pedicure, eyebrows and gel set. read more

Since my move to Durham, this has been my go-to pedicure place. Prices are reasonable. The deluxe pedicure is worth the extra money but their standard service is great as well. The staff is friendly, and they provide a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. They are also very gentle but get the job done well! This establishment is stupendous about cleanliness and line their tubs, which is more than a lot of nail salons I've been to can say. It is also well ventilated so you don't feel like you're sitting in a nail polish factory. However, I would be cautious about coming in around when people get out of work as it can get pretty busy! read more

This place is great. Always can depend on Allure for an amazing mani&pedi. Kathy's the best!

I was a bit skeptical about this place at first, but since I was desperate for a gel mani and pedi, and this was the only one that was close to campus, I decided to give it a try. The interior is cheap and tries to pass off as luxurious, but really isn't. Sanitation is dubious. But I've been happy with all the manis/pedis I've received here. Gel mani is always reliable and looks good; there is a great color selection. Normally I just walk in and wait for about 20-30 minutes. If I'm really pressed for time, I'll make an appointment and get treated instantly. read more

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. I primarily went because it was next to my apartment complex. I went for a pedicure which was really nice. Mia was great and overall it was a very relaxing experience. Definitely recommended! read more

I have tried many nail salons and always come back to Allure Nails. I have gel manicures, pedicures, and SNS manicures here and have never been disappointed. read more

This place is great. They do a really nice job. Everyone is very friendly. It's my go to nail salon!

Allure Nail Spa is located next to The Garden Salon. My wife (who owns the Garden) goes to Allure several times a month and her nails always look great with fun colors. I believe Cathy does my wife's nails. I've met her and she is very nice. read more

I was looking for a nice clean place with a great mani/pedi experience for my young daughter. I have to say, Allure did not disappoint and we have been back again and again since. The only thing keeping me from giving them five stars is consistency. It really depends on who you have that determines the quality of your visit. Definitely my favorite tech is Sonny. He is friendly and very skilled. The pedicure chairs are very comfortable. They always have a nice variety of magazines to read. I love the scrubs and the calf massages..............to die for! And the salon has a relaxing feel to it. My piggies usually have a nice long-lasting polish to them. My fingernails seems to last long enough--anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks depending on how rough I am with them. Sure, parking is a bit sketchy sometimes, but I have never had to circle for too long to grab a spot. I don't live close by but it's definitely worth the drive for a relaxing pampering. read more

I went there this afternoon to try out a new place since my old nail salon disappointed me one too many times. My acrylics were lifting so Cindy recommended I got a new set. I'm so glad I did! They look fabulous! She was very pleasant but didn't talk my ear off like a lot of technicians do. I don't even understand why some people complain if the tech doesn't have a full-on convo with them.. You are there to relax and get pampered, not exchange life stories. The only thing I didn't like was the parking but that obviously isn't the salons fault. Really great experience and will certainly be back! read more

Wonderful family who do a great job on nails. My mom and I walked in and they took us both immediately. Plus they were so fast!

Came in for a manicure.... they did a rush job, kept pushing other services, bubbles in my manicure, cuticles not cut well, no hand massage, poorly filed nails, uneven brush strokes on my nails. Will absolutely not be returning. read more

Allure Nail Spa - Will not be returning - Nail Salons Near Me - Durham, North Carolina

I go here occasionally. I tip very well. They typically do a good job. I often end up coming late because of work. They close at 7:30. Tonight I walked in at 6:40. The mean, hateful look the girl there gave me made me turn around and leave. You can't greet customers like that. Plenty of other places to go. read more

I had a pedicure here... I would definitely go back for another one! I called about 15 minutes ahead, and someone was ready for me when I arrived. The staff is very friendly and polite, and the atmosphere was relaxed and quiet. I really hate when nail salon staff chatter amongst themselves while you're there to relax. There was no blaring TV either, so I could lean back, relax, and actually read and check email while enjoying the massage chair. The one downside I noticed was that their basic nail polish selection (not OPI gels) could use some freshening up! The colors were mostly dull reds and pinks, and there weren't many exciting choices for those of us who like a bright or unusual color. I did find one cute teal, but you might want to bring your own...or get gels. read more

Very nice environment but the service makes me not want to go back. It seems like they are very friendly...until after you pay. I was very pleased with the setting in the beginning. Once the guy asked me to pay, I did, left a tip and he proceeded to finish my nails. After that, I could barely get him to say two words. Then, I said thank you several times and he never responded. Made me feel uncomfortable. For a $40 service, I left a $7 tip. I'm wondering if that was the problem.... Very clean and convenient place but the customer service could be better read more

I am soooo disappointed in the acrylic set that I got done there. I usually only pay $20 for a full set at other locations but because this was the closest I thought I'd give it a go and hope that the extra $5 would be worth it. It wasn't. 1) First of all, there's a length limit on acrylics before you get charged an extra $5. So basically if you want to pay the $25 that an acrylic set is advertised for, they have to be really, really short which is the biggest reason I am so disappointed in this set. There's no length limit at other salons I've been to so I was really surprised when I was told that if I wanted to pay regular price my nails would have to be short (they're less than half an inch from cuticle to tip). What is this?!?!? 2) I showed the technician a picture of the shape I wanted (nothing too complicated. Basically just slightly tapered or "coffin" nails) and it just turned out sooo wrong. I don't think any of my nails are the same shape. Some of them look like they're leaning a certain direction because they were so unevenly filed and shaped. So so so disappointed in this set and I feel like I completely wasted my money here. I know I could have paid less elsewhere and gotten a really solid set. Now I wish I had instead of trying this place out! The only plus I'd say is that they have a big selection of high end polishes (OPI, Essie etc) and that the place seemed to be pretty clean. Other than that, their acrylic sets are TERRIBLE. Never again read more

I decided to try out this nail shop today because I've been trying to find me somewhere to go on the regular. I arrived to get my nails done 15 min before Allure was suppose to close but Jenny was very nice & did me a full set with gel polish. My nails are so pretty & I am very satisfied with my nails. I will be returning by the weekend to get me a pedicure as well. Thank you so much Jenny! read more

I had a really enjoyable pedicure here. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised to be seen immediately even though there were several clients. The pedicure included a lot of fun additions like hot towels and fun lotions that cost extra at other salons I've been to. Everyone working there was really friendly and the ambiance is great. The pedicure itself was great and has stood the test of time. I will definitely be returning! read more

It has been my first and my last time at Allure Nail Spa. The personnel was terribly impolite and unwelcoming: as they were all Asian, they way of speaking was completely ununderstandable to me, as a non-native speaker. Nonetheless, instead of being kind and more accurate, they persisted in laughing and chatting among themselves in their language. Pedicure was ok, but no professionalism or competence at all. Apart from me, their way of working consists in continuous chatting and talking in their language, thus giving the customers the idea that they are saying something about them. Otherwise they would not need to use their native language. And anyone knows that it is a very impolite and rude behaviour to use your own language in presence of other language speakers. I strongly discourage you to attend this place. read more

My friend was coming into town for a girlie day and we decided to get a pedicure. I looked at several reviews and Allure Nail Spa had the best reviews, so we decided to go there. We looked at their website and noticed that they had a special for a manicure and pedicure for $35.00 and decided to go ahead and do both. When we got there, there was no wait since it was a Monday afternoon. We were told to pick out a color, and man they had extensive color choices. We went to the pedicure station first. The pedicure area was just beautiful and relaxing; there was a trellis with ivy hanging from it and very comfortable leather chairs that you sat in that massaged you while your feet were being done. The gentleman that I had did a very good job massaging my legs and making sure he did a very thorough and neat job, which was very hard in my case since my toe nails were very small. What I really appreciated was when he finished he made sure he got my feet in my shoes without my nail polish being messed up. The nails were done very thoroughly as well and well worth the extra $10.00. I even accidentally messed up two of my nails on the fan and he was very patient and fixed my nails back with no complaint. After we got our nails done, they made sure to move our purses to the drying station for us so we did not mess up our nails. Overall, they were very friendly, but not over talkative, patient and very thorough and did a wonderful job! I will definitely come back and recommend it for someone else. It was my first time getting a manicure, and my second time getting a pedicure and they made it a wonderful experience. read more

I came here on whim - everything about the experience was sub par and my manicure began chipping that day. Would not come back.

When you get your nails done u expect a few things to not go perfectly, but you should expect the people doing your nails to b receptive of comments or requests to fix or change them. Not here. If the aren't already speaking to the other coworkers in a language you don't speak (Vietnamese) expect them to start. Blame every mistake they make on your finger being crooked , you touching your nails, or your opinion is just WRONG. You will get attitude if u say anything or ask for something to b fixed. I realize pretty much all duke students come here. But save your money and go somewhere better. Where your paying for what u want not a mediocre attempt with attitude attached. read more

Pretty average in most ways. I made an appointment the day before going in. Everything seemed pretty rushed and the guy doing my nails didn't really put much effort into the whole process. My cuticles weren't even cut (which is my favorite part) so I was bummed... But my nails look pretty fine. A few spots here and there that could be better but overall they're fine. Just doesn't look that professional since my cuticles are long and I have hang nails :( read more

Went in on my lunch break (made sure I had 1.5 hours) and I am 9 months pregnant. Went for a pedicure. waited 10 minutes to sit down then waited another 40 minutes in the chair while people that had come in after me got their toes done. Even when I asked why they were being help and said that I had to be back to work they didn't say or do anything. Go to mani pedi in Brier Creek, much better customer service and services!!! read more

There was nothing wrong with the pedicure itself, but the staff was really nasty to me. I'm not sure why this woman was so rude (or what we did to merit it?) but she ruined the spa experience for us. read more

The man that did my manicure did an awful job. After every nail he would wipe the sides with his finger... i thought it was odd but realized why after he was done. There was polish all on the outside cuticles of my nails and up along the backs. This means that all the polish peeled up only 2 days later. He also didn't do a hand massage and charged $30. My mom got a regular mani and they put the polish on so thick that it took forever to dry and got ruined. read more

Terrible service and, more importantly, terrible manicure and pedicure. Unevenly filed nails, spots left bare, I could go on. Rude, too.
