I needed to get wear and tear work done for my new pre/owned car. Unfortunately I was a fool and let my boss use it while the company van sat because he was too cheap to get it smogged. Needed a catalytic converter to pass smog. Instead my dumb ass got talked into using my car for work, one or two weeks max was told. I'm a team player so I bought into it but folks, don't do it. Work is not family or friends, especially if they don't treat you like one. Words have no value if there's no integrity and actions behind them. Hard lesson to learn, people pleaser that I am. So after I said I'm done, fix than van as promised, I needed to get my car back to the way it easy. Pot holes, steep roads, heavy breaking with trunk full of food products did its toll. I did a a yahoo bid project that these guys don't participate in. But i remember Allstate being a solid company growing up and sent an email asking if I could get work done Monday morning. At closing time on a Saturday! And 10 minutes later, Issac emailed me back. No problem, Monday 8:30am. They are AAA certified so I had confidence already. Monday comes and I emailed Issac I was running late, no problem of course. Got there at 10:30am, let the man and was very impressed by his honest straightforward approach to quoting me the work. Brakes are easier and cheaper to fix if you don't wait until there's metal on metal. That squeak you suddenly start hearing is a layer of material meant to emit that sound, telling you the pads are on reserve and beed replacements. I got a german sorts sedan, not fancy but still a very nice car and want to keep it that way. I agree to the price, added alignment because steering was a little off, pulled to the left ever so slightly. German engineers are precise, car tells you what it needs in its own language. And asked for a checked on suspension, guess why? A noise going over bumps was saying something too. Got all the work done, nice lounge only missing some coffee but fresh water and comfortable couches definitely appreciated. They did a great job, car is driving as it was engineered to. Got a quote for shocks, rear only as the front ones were in great shape. Cargo in the trunk obviously the cause. I will come back but not for the fair price nor the water but because it's run by a man with integrity. No BS, no upsell but all the information. Specific details and explanation of the work they did and will do when o get paid again. Money is tight, Issac helped me prioritize what I can hold off doing for now and what will need replacing, just like German engineers he told me what I'd start to feel or hear the car tell me what it needs. Issac isn't a German car engineer, he is better. He speaks in a language I understood and really appreciate. Come here if you care about you car, if it's out of warranty and dealer repair is 50/50 and twice the price. And I give you my word, you will leave a satisfied customer. But if you're looking to haggle and try and tell and expert you know how much it should cost, what the problem is and want to argue. Juan and Isaac were both great! My car stalled at the 2 North and 210 West junction.. very dangerous spot!! Luckily, I have AAA and they recommended and towed my car to Allstate Auto Repair.. they were able to fix my car within two days and explained exactly what was going on with my car (Turbo boost solenoid and Oil pressure sensor) and a detailed price breakdown. Although there was an additional part that needed to be replaced while fixing the car, Isaac explained and showed me exactly what it was and didn't charge for labor to replace (only charged cost of the part). They also included a AAA discount to help offset the grand total.. I finally found a local mechanic I can trust and will be my go-to! Obnoxious. Listed as a AAA provider for pre-purchase vehicle inspections I requested an appointment online. The appointment was confirmed via email two days in advance. We showed up with the car at the appointment time and they said that they had sent a text to cancel the appointment three hours earlier (they mistyped my phone number on the text so I never got it) and that their next available inspection appointment was in 4 days. Was referred to the place from AAA for a 40-point inspection, and was quoted: $46 for a 2015 Honda Civic serpentine belt (which is $20 at Auto Zone), $169 for a Belt Tensioner Assembly (which is $109 from Honda Parts Direct), and $225 for front brakes that were replaced elsewhere for $110. When I asked for Juan to copy the estimate, I was told that their printer was out of ink, but he was more than happy to print out a 3-page invoice with the, "Customer Notes," filled out as if I came in addressing the things found during inspection. read more

Not bad guys here, but I probably won't be coming back. Went to Allstate to get a set of tires and got a fair price. There was trouble in paradise once I started experiencing random leaks on the front driver's side where my tire pressure would drop from 32psi down to about 10psi in a day or two. Unnerving, to say the least. Went back to Allstate, explained the issue, and to their credit they removed the tire to check for leaks (and didn't find any). Well, flash forward a few months. Issue still persists and I take it to somewhere else (Tire 4 Less, just up the street). Within 20 minutes, the guy up there had the wheel off and told me the chrome on my wheels was flaking heavily, which would cause the exact same random leakage issues I experienced. This was also corroborated by the guys down at Western Tire in Burbank once I sought a second opinion. You'd think that somewhere between taking the old tires off and having to look at the tires again, someone at Allstate would have caught what seems to be an extremely common issue. But they didn't, and that could have saved me a few months of uncertainty and fear that I might have a blow-out on the freeway. read more

I've been coming here for years now, and these guys have always done a great job. I had an older car that had too many problems to count, and they were always fair and honest with me. Now I have a new Subaru that runs great, but when a problem did arise they fixed it and had it back on the road the same day. My boyfriend who used to work at a mechanic shop thought it would be around $300 for half the work, and in the end it was around $430 for everything. They even call before doing any work to make sure I okay with what they were doing and the price for everything. There were no surprise fees or extra work done when I picked up my car. My catalytic converter was stolen from my truck in May, 2015. I went to Allstate Auto Repair and they installed an aftermarket unit for $327, parts and labor. In March of 2017, less than 2 years later, my check engine came on. 2 mechanics verified it was due to a bad catalytic converter. I called them today and they said the warranty is for 3 year or 36,000 miles. Even though it was under 3 years, I had more than 36,000 miles. If you pay $327 for a catalytic converter, you expect it to last at least 5 years... Not happy with having to pay another $300+ for same problem. read more

I had my Toyota Matrix serviced here several times and other than things being on the expensive side, I had no issues. After a small accident that damaged my suspension and left the car immovable, Juan quoted me $2,000 for parts and labor. I told him to order some parts but subsequently changed my mind and decided to not have the work done. Instead of being straightforward with me and telling me I would be charged to leave my car on the lot, Juan told me a week and a half later when I came to get my car towed away. My $100 inspection fee turned into $500 for leaving my car on the lot. Prior to this, Juan and I talked several times but he never mentioned the fee. I even told him it was wrong that he charged me and after promising he "would take care of me," he never refunded me a dime. This guy is a complete crook and I will NEVER bring my business there again. I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated and would strongly advise others to find a more honest (and reasonably priced) mechanic. read more

Juan probably wanted to make a quick buck over the weekend and in my presence there refused another customer saying he was closed.He took an extra $50 on top of 180 just to remove and check catalytic converter( took him less than 20 minutes) in which apparently Andrew ( not sure if he still works there) had installed a new one and mentioned its good for 150 thousand miles couple of years back .Asked about the 50 extra said it was for the 40 point inspection which was never mentioned. The customer service here is the best in town but the mechanics, especially the alignment guy needs to practice professional Care with customer cars. My truck was on and off the rack 4 times each time in second gear (killing the clutch) roosting it so bad I had to plug my ears. When the vehicle was returned to me it was worse and of course its the old trucks fault. But I'm pretty sure the grease stains on my seat where theirs. I won't be going back but I recommend you go as they are really really nice and not rood. read more

I recently had work done on my vehicle, the original quote was $375.00 to replace the valve gaskets, the final bill $1,000.00, During the repair they damaged one of my spark plug wires. Juan the manager told me he could replace the one wire at no charge. Then I get a phone call and I'm told he can't find the wire and if I pay half of what the spark plug wires cost they would replace them no charge for labor, I paid $40.00 for the wires, I'm sure they did not pay $80.00 for a set of wires. I get back from picking my vehicle up get home now it's leaking coolant. I'm now told the radiator needs to be replaced. Another $350.00. They charged me $177.00 for a radiator that cost them $100.00. Plus $120.00 per hour for labor. While they may not be breaking any laws, which I'm not sure of, they certainly are not morally right. I have had three cars there: 1)2001 F150 (sold it recently) 2) 2004 Toyota Sienna 3) 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid Besides oil changes and tire rotations, I have brakes, shocks, struts, and belts done there. They are much less expensive that the dealer, and I trust them. I never get the "your air cleaner needs changing, we should flush the xxxx, etc). They look out for your car and your pocketbook. Juan and Manuel are good guys - honest and hardworking. The lobby is comfortable, and I can use wifi while waiting. Oil changes/rotations cost about 50 bucks, as I recall - but the ease is worth it. They can get a bit busy, but I tend to call ahead and ask, and things work out fine. Don't bother with a dealer or quick lube place - take your car here. read more

I came to Allstate sheerly out of necessity when my car needed to be towed in on a Saturday afternoon. Juan was both friendly and helpful through the duration of my experience. It's a small operation, so they weren't able to supply the parts I needed and were going to have to machine them out, which is the cost (in multiple senses) of a small shop like this.
