For some reason this business doesn't seem to understand that there are happy customers and not so happy customers. I see there are some that had good experiences at Pete's but my experience was NOT a good one. I did NOT leave happy; I was inconvenienced and told to go elsewhere for some reason after my car was diagnosed by their team. I had to take a day off and I had my car towed to the dealer. (This writing is an update after the owner wrote a book in response with o my initial post). I'm writing this one to let this company know that it's ok that everyone is not pleased with their service; my experience is just what happened; this is not to demean or defame...every customer is entitled to their perspective and opinion. The owners were so helpful getting my smog check squared away for an older car I am registering with the dmv. Not only was service fast but they were up front with me about how my car would fail smog since I had lights on in my dash. Instead of taking my money and failing me, they offered to inspect my car and attempt to find the issue. Not only did they find the issue, they also repaired it same day and my car passed smog with no issues. The owner had me pay only once he knew my car was fixed. Wow!!! These guys are amazing that work here. Highly recommend them. We had our wheel studs break off and lost a tire at 8 am on Saturday. Everyone else said No, they were too busy. I drive from the SF Bay Area to SoCal monthly and this time my truck overheated going up the grapevine but not until I got onto the 210 the gauge warning came on. I waited for my motor to cool down and added some water. I started calling around to have my engine checked out. Fortunately I was able to speak with Paul and explained what had happened. He said to come over and they will check it out. I was glad because some shops won't take you in without appointments. Paul greeted me when I got there and he said they will look at it as soon as it cools down. I went to a local coffee shop to wait. In a couple of hours Paul called me and said he tested out the coolant system, topped off the coolant and test drove it to make sure it was safe. I can't recommend Pete's Auto highly enough. I called to see if they had time to replace my brake pads, and not only did they fit me in, but they were also incredibly friendly and upfront about the cost. When I arrived, they informed me that my rotors also needed replacing. I decided to go ahead with it, and when it was time to pay, they honored the original price quoted for just the brake pads labor and didn't charge extra for the rotors--something other places would definitely not do. Hopped on Yelp to find a smog shop and found Pete's. I called and he immediately answered the phone and and said to call him first thing in the morning. I called that morning and he answered on the first call (That doesn't seem to happen anymore). I showed up and he started working on my jeep right away. I was in and out in a very short time. He let me know on what problems I may have the next time because the jeep is pretty old. I felt that he was very honest and really appreciates his customers.
