I came in for an oil change after Jiffy Lube (boo) stripped my oil pan and oil leaked all over the under carriage of my car and they rethreaded the bolt for me no extra charge. (The oil change was already cheaper than other shops I was looking at) I need new breaks and some more work done and I already know I'm coming back to Vic's.

I originally went in to replace…read morethe engine splash shield and fender liners on my Prius, and they were by far the best shop I spoke with -- fair pricing, easy, friendly communication, and they handled getting all the parts without any hassle. While they had the car, they also replaced my front brakes, buffed out some scuffs on my front bumper, topped off my tires, and even reset my tire pressure sensor that had been stuck on for over a year. Those extra touches really meant a lot. And while I waited I was happy at the great coffee shop just down the street. Vic was super nice, professional, and clearly cares about doing good work. Definitely recommend them if you're looking for honest, thorough auto care.

We have been going to Serge's for almost a year now after reading the great reviews on Yelp. I have to say that the first couple of times we took our cars to Serge, they did good work at fair prices. That deserves one extra star. If it weren't for the short, good history we have with Serge, our experience today would only have earned them one star. I called yesterday and spoke with Serge to make an appointment for today. I gave him all the necessary details (name, phone number, make/model of the car, etc.) and he told me to be there the next day between 9:30 and 10:00am. We showed up today at the designated time and my husband and I went to speak with Serge about the problem. Serge told us that he could not fit our car in and we would have to come back another time. We reminded him about the appointment we made the day before and he still said there wasn't any space for us. After we persisted some, Serge said he'd take a listen to the car. The car makes a high-pitched whine when it's turned on (it's definitely not normal, even I can tell that). Serge listened to the car, including the super-loud whine, and said the car was fine, that nothing was wrong with the car. There is obviously something wrong with the car so Serge telling us the car was fine seemed like a total brush off to both of us since he was so busy with other customers, (despite us having an appointment). We thanked Serge for his time and left. If he doesn't want our business and can't honor an appointment he made, there are plenty of other places that will. Serge, I wish you would have taken the time to actually work with us. We had an appointment and a car that needs to be fixed. It's too bad you chose not to help us. We'll be taking our business elsewhere from now on. read more

When I arrived in Glendale with my 1982 and 1967 Mercedes', I yelped the best automotive shop. Serge's came up and I went there. I can say without reservation that Serge's Automotive is the best shop for repairs and for customer service. I have spent many thousands of dollars on my older cars, and have handed over my money gratefully for a job well done. Serge is the owner, smart and friendly with a great head for business. No wonder his son is a Cal Bear. Barkev is the consummate shop manager and a superb problem solver and mechanic. Ruben and George round out the employees, with all having been there 8 years or more. I like the attractive non-traditional office, populated with copies of Business Week and a computer with internet service if you need it. Look no further for a great shop - Serge's Automotive, corner of Briggs and Foothill in La Crescenta, is the best choice to make. Serge's shop is honest, friendly and fast! I had a honda pilot with engine trouble. The honda dealers told me it would be $3000 to fix because the engine was gone. I had my honda towed to Serge's. He told me a spark plug wire had burned out causing the engine malfunction he replaced the wire and plugs. For less than $100, and in 1 day, I had my honda back running perfectly. This is always my go to place for all things dealing with auto issues. My family has been taking their cars to him for years and we woudn;t consider going anywhere else! read more

I took my car in this morning because my car kept dying after I drove it. I just replaced the battery yesterday. Serge checked it out for me, and it turned out to only be a fuse! Thank god! These guys were honest, fast, and so helpful! As most of us know, a car spot in LA That is honest, and won't take advantage of you, is hard to find...I WILL be back, and they will most definitely have my business from now on, and I will refer my friends and everyone else who needs a repair. When we first moved to Tujunga I read the reviews of all the mechanics in the area and decided to give Serge a try. They've been great ever since. At first I compared the cost of repairs with other independent shops but I don't bother anymore. Compared with the dealer they're literally half the price. Excellent quality and they never try to sell me on extra repairs. I'm just sad we moved again. I may still drive the extra distance to take care of large repairs for my MR2 Spyder. An honest mechanic is worth his weight in gold. read more

Be careful in your dealings with Serges. I just had an oil change there. I was quoted $32 on the phone but was charged $63. I questioned this and was told it was because of the much higher cost of the synthetic oil that was used. The guy popped his head in the waiting room and nonchalantly asked if I wanted regular or synthetic oil, saying nothing about the substantial cost difference (turned out to be $8 per quart versus $3). Bottom line: make sure you ask them about everything they are doing. read more

I have gone to Serge's Automotive for many years and I can always rely on him. He definitely does what he says he will do and he's very reasonable. Right away I knew he was honest. For example, I said to him once, "my car is making this "kadunk" noise so can you check it." He did and told me that it's a normal sound so not to worry. Another mechanic would find a reason to fix the noise and charge me an arm and a leg. Also, he sends nice thank you cards. He's got class! read more

Serge's Auto in La Crescenta CA is a local legend for integrity. Above all, what someone like me needs - who is baffled by everything mechanical - is trust. It's very rare to give good reviews when it comes to mechanics. Well, I found this place thanks to Yelp and I'm happy is just as good as the reviews said. Serge was so nice and his guys are just amazing at what they do. I stop by to get my charger fixed and in 2 minutes it was working again. Very clean, lots of parking and the charm of a place that is still run by its owner. If anything happens to my car, this is where I'm bringing it. read more

I needed an oil change, so I checked Yelp for my neighborhood and saw Serge's had a good rating. It was well deserved. They were very nice and polite, the waiting area was clean, and the service was quick. They also noticed my alternator belt was cracked and gave me a ride home while they ordered the part and replaced it. The best part was I felt as if they were honest and I could trust them.
