I want to say up front that I have been a loyal customer of this company for over 8 years. They did the Control 4 audio visual installation when my home was built in 2017 and I have used them for maintenance on the system ever since. Over time their service has only gotten worse, sending out service personnel who clearly do not know what they are doing. Response time was poor and service was costly. If I could give them zero stars I would. These people are crooks. I called them multiple times about an issue and they never got back to me. They installed a video doorbell that never worked properly. They made multiple attempt to fix it and then after the warranty expired they charged me $300 for a service fee, still never fixed it and then sent me a letter saying if I didn't pay the bill they would turn me over to collections. They finally agreed to drop the repair fee, I have signed another year contract with them. No chance. They are awful. read more

After a client was deceased, they tried to bill for early termination. We were trying to get them to discontinue SMS messages and I'm doing so have called at least 15 times in two weeks and left messages. It's literally impossible to get a hold of anyone there. Following the endless difficulty in contacting customer service, detailed earlier, I contacted both the President and Project Manager of AI by email and voicemail asking them to call me in order that I could discuss the experience I had. Neither responded, instead they instructed their technician to call me to say that unless I removed my previous negative review (11/5/24), they would cancel the appointment that had in the interim been set up for AI to come the following week to the house to resolve the technical issues I was facing. I called this out for the blackmail that it is. The caller backtracked, and confirmed that the visit would still absolutely take place irrespective of whether I removed my review or not. It was no surprise when we received a call at the appointed time for the visit. This time another technician had been instructed to inform us that the appointment had been cancelled. No reason was given, beyond this being a ´management decision´. No comment is required as to the way management behaved. read more

Alliance is going back up to three stars. Turns out they neglected to install one of the two wireless access points in our house. Whoops. This, combined with the other issues we had, make it impossible for me to give this company more than three stars. BUT, once we got hold of their tech and installation guys -- Jonathan and Benny -- they were great and redeemed the company somewhat. Dealing with their sales guy Miles was unpleasant. My relationship with Alliance began not as a matter of my own free choice but because the builder of the new housing development where I had purchased a home to be built had already mandated that Alliance would be the only audio/video company to be granted exclusive access to the new homes during the building process. Thus, at least until the home was completed and escrow closed, I was precluded from using my usual Palm Desert A/V company from whom I have received exceptional service in several homes for many years. Instead of waiting for the house to be finished whereby my trusted A/V company would have been able to install a complete entertainment system as they have done for me in the past, I naively succumbed to Alliance's assurances that they could provide a first-class A/V system that would be up and running on the day my escrow closed. That promise, unfortunately, would prove not to be the case. I would later regret profoundly that I had let my impatience get the better of me. To say that I have been disappointed with Alliance would be an understatement. They are at best a mediocre A/V company that over-promises and under-delivers. While I was assured at the outset that they possessed the expertise necessary to install, integrate and program the modern technology of today's sophisticated A/V world, I was alarmed early on in our relationship that they may be in over their heads, or at least that they might be compared to what I was used to. Although I began to suspect soon after signing the contracts and writing a check that Alliance's capabilities might have been exaggerated, one of the first real signs of trouble occurred on the day after close of escrow when I took possession of the house. Because Spectrum Cable had been unable to complete its hookup earlier, Alliance could not proceed with its installation and have the system running by the end of the day. After the technicians left, I contacted Alliance's scheduling coordinator to make sure Alliance would be ready to return promptly once Spectrum had solved the blockage problem and completed the hookup. To my great surprise, however, I was advised that the next available appointment would be in approximately thirty days, to which I replied incredulously " are you serious?" The scheduler's response? "Serious as a heart attack!" So there you have it. Apparently I was supposed to sit in my house with no wifi and no television for a month because Alliance wouldn't be able to shoehorn me into their schedule. Their excuse was that it wouldn't be fair to the other customers who already had appointments to drop everything in order to work on my problem. I don't know about anyone else, but this attitude is not what I'm looking for in an A/V company. Fortunately, by appealing my case to an Alliance VP the next day, I was able to secure a technician to continue working on my project once Spectrum completed the hookup. I wish I could say at this point that my story went on to have a happy ending. Such, however, was not to be the case. In fact, several weeks went by thereafter while the system struggled with a number of performance glitches which intermittent visits from several technicians could only partially solve, even occasionally blaming individual components as faulty when in fact it was later determined they were not, merely programmed incorrectly. As more time went by, I realized that I had gone about as far as I could with Alliance's limited capabilities and I called in my regular A/V company rather than beat my head against the wall any longer with Alliance. As things stand today, much of Alliance's efforts had to be redone and several components replaced with more suitable substitutes but I'm happy to report that the final result reflects the quality and performance that over the years I have come to expect. While the memories of my personal frustration of even having to deal with this company at all, not to mention incurring the unfortunate financial losses associated with their questionable competence, will certainly fade over time, I have tried to keep in mind that the overriding goal is to have a topnotch A/V system for the long run. After all, for those of us who love watching sports, movies and other entertainment, the efficacy and quality of our entertainment systems simply cannot be placed in the wrong hands. read more

We bought a rental home in 2010.We had Alliance set up an existing alarm system. The set up seemed expensive and we did not mean to sign a 3 year contract. Bottom line, We auto paid $42. monthly until now thinking it was working for our renters via property managers Today we were told that it was never set up for opening and closing.?? .Over the years we got calls from Alliance saying seemed like someone left without setting alarm etc an we would give Alliance the name and # of the renters etc... Wow! A lot of activity since I posted my review a few days ago. First, I received a nice message from the owner asking me to contact her to see what she can do to help. While I appreciate the gesture, let me be clear that I would not post a one star review like this without first giving management an opportunity to address my problems. I also don't think that it would be fair for me to get the good customer service just because I posted on Yelp. All of your customers should get good customer service. Today, I got another message from someone else at Alliance saying that they searched their database to find me and concluded that I am using a "FAKE" name. Wow, that's creepy. Even more disturbing is that they just posted a response online saying that they have contacted another local business to see if they knew who I was. SUPER CREEPY! Let me point out that even if you are not happy with my review, I am your customer and I paid your company thousands of dollars. The fact that you are trying to hunt me down and belittle me in your response just highlights that you realy don't understand customer service. Do you really want to project the message to your customers that this is how you will treat them if they complain about your service? I hope not. I also noticed that three separate 5-star reviews were posted just a few days after mine by brand new Yelp users who have never reviewed any other businesses. Those "reviews" appear to have been filtered out by Yelp and are "not currently recommended" by Yelp. What's that about? Here's what I would suggest to the folks at Alliance. Stop being reactive. Instead of playing detective trying to figure out who I am, why don't you focus on improving your customer service? For better or worse, most of your customers are tied to you for ongoing service of the systems that you installed. I'm a fair person. Alliance provided both a/v and alarm service to my residence. The technicians they provided were extremely knowledgable, tolerated with a smile my million questions, and very professional. A special mention to one named Chino who took the time to ensure a professional installation and teach my all its in and outs. The system they installed blew me away. Because I was also having a house full of relatives, I called Spectrum to solve this problem. They came out and told me I should buy three Google Routers. Spectrum said the router I had was not doing the job. Therefore, I got the routers and Spectrum hooked them up. Unfortunately I was still having trouble with my internet. Since Alliance Integration set up my total technical system originally, I called them to get my internet solved before Christmas and to set up a Roku. I had wanted Chino, who set my system up originally to come out. He was too busy, so they sent out Robert. To Robert's credit, he did set up the Roku. He discovered that Spectrum had changed the setting originally set by Chino. In the process of changing the settings back, he created a new network. This opened a new can of challenges since my electronics did not know which network to connect to. Likewise, my printer would not work because it did not recognize which network to connect with. Also, my internet still was not working properly. I called Alliance Integration again, they sent out Chino. He did change the internet connection back to the original settings. He asked me to call Spectrum and have them make sure the modem they supplied was working, which it was. Throughout all of this time, my internet is still not working properly. I called Alliance Integration again to come out and make sure the routers were connected properly, since Robert was the last to touch them. They said they would not come out again until I paid them $649.50. I consider that amount highway robbery considering the internet still has problems today, February 1, 2018. The only thing Robert did well was connect the Roku. The internet still is not working properly. Robert was slow and did not solve the initial problem I called about. His time should only be worth 1 hour or $125.00. Robert really disabled my ability to work on my computer properly. As a result, Alliance Integration only deserves a 1 out of 5 point score which I have reported to posted on Yelp and Google Maps. I also am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. read more

If anyone is considering subscribing to this service, I would highly suggest you reconsider. I purchased a home whereby the previous owner had used Alliance. I decided I did not need the system, but since the system was already installed, I ignored it. All was fine until it started beeping.....at 3am. When I called the "supervisor" , Melissa, I was told that I needed to pay $220 for a technician to come out and uninstall, replace a battery for something I didnt use, or disable the system, which for "liability" purposes, they could not tell me how. When I asked for the manager/owners name, I was told to "Google it". If this is how they treat you if you are not a customer....what more can I say. I pity anyone who actually has a problem with this company. read more

We recently closed escrow on a home in a new development in PS. We had used Desert Alarm for 10 years in our prior house and would give them 5 stars for service. But as we were closing escrow in only a few days and I wanted it to be alarmed from day one. We are only there on weekends and we couldn't get an appt. with Desert Alarm in time. So we went with Alliance, who had a tie in with the builder. Since the house was pre-wired I thought it would be a simple install. I was wrong. The tech was very knowledgeable, efficient and very courteous, but there was just more to do than I imagined. He was fighting for closet space (where all communications connects) with the Time Warner guy and the guy installing the TV, all at the same time. He spent at least 6 hours there getting everything installed. The system so far has functioned flawlessly and the cameras inside are great for checking up on the dogs from my iPhone. We did go elsewhere for the install for the surround sound. The prices seemed far out of line. Went with Best Buy and the Geek Squad and saved $2000.00 read more

Alliance Protection is a company that does not value the customer. When you hire a security company you trust them to protect. Paying for a security service is a contract of trust. When a company takes your monthly payment you expect then to close the loop to ensure that the system is working flawlessly. Also when you have a problem with the service you expect to have an avenue to talk to the company all the way up to the owner to resolve your issues. At Alliance there is only one person the talk to and there is no other channel of communication.
