I really didn't want to give them a poor rating, but I felt like they left me no choice. This review is based on their customer service. I needed someone to go out to a rental property to change a system battery. We no longer live in the desert and our tenant does not have a contract with any company for monitoring. I contacted Comtron to get a quote. I clearly explained the situation to the girl who answered the phone. She asked for the property address to look it up in their system. I told her we do not have service with them. She gave me the quote of $55 for the service call and $50 for the battery. I told her I would call her back after I spoke with my husband. I called back less than an hour later. The girl I spoke to (not the same as the first call) said she would set up a walk through to get a quote. Huh? I explained that I already got a quote and was just calling back to schedule the service. She said I was misquoted and they do not do service calls for non customers. I asked to speak with the manager....Jenny got on the phone, I explained the problem to her. She agreed that I was misquoted. She also stated she has a "couple of new girls in the office". She apologised for the mix up. When I told her I was going to give them a poor review she asked me not to and if I could get her the name of the system she would see what she could do. I phoned her back about 30 minutes later (just about 5:00pm). The girl who answered the phone just answered by saying "hello"...I asked if this was Comtron and she said it was. (odd!) When I asked for Jenny she said she had already left for the day. No problem. I left my contact information and explained that Jenny was expecting my call and ask that she call me when she got in the following day. That was two days ago. I just now received a call for Jenny. She didn't quite remember me and asked when I wanted them to come out to set up service. Nope. I reminded her of who I was and why I had called and left my information. Her response: "oh! you're THAT Lisa, I don't know why they put you on my calendar to call you". Really? I told her I had called her back just like she asked me to. I explained that when I hadn't heard back from her yesterday I just contacted a different company. She seemed very confused. My impression is they totally lack any sort of customer service and are completely disorganized. Good luck if you choose Comtron. read more

They installed our AV -Alarm system in our new house . Flawless install and service to match !

We purchased a home in Palm Desert earlier in the year that had some alarm equipment left behind by the previous owners. The alarm company they had employed however, was relentless! So not interested in pushy salesmen showing up at our doorstep on weekenights and weekends. We got a referral from a friend and called Comtron. Their level of customer service is unmatched - the technician who did the work was very friendly, knowledgeable and did a great job of walking me through the process. Very professional company. Highly recommend! read more

AMAZING! I would give them 10 stars if possible. I bought a home in Palm Springs -- my first home being a NYC native. I have always owned condos. My insurance broker said the Insurance policy/s I wanted (top end) had many requirements b/c of the CA fires etc. (All policies in fact due in 2019 now) They wanted heat monitors, smoke detectors, leak control, sprinklers, glass break, all hooked up to "Central Command" Also, they strongly suggested cameras around the perimeter. I called 5 alarms firms (including the one that the previous owner was using) - not one firm was will to truly help me and own the solution. Some firms had me routed to call centers. Others told me to get plumbers for leak control (which had to part of Alarm). COMTRON -Wow! Alex (thank you Alex) was my first part of contact and instantly said - "you must have a premier policy with Chubb, PURE etc (yes). "We got you!!!". From that point on.....They gave me a quote on everything. Everyone (too many to mention - Adrian, Ed, Andrew etc) were incredible - KNOWLEDGABLE, KIND, PROFESSIONAL, PATIENT! Five weeks later, I own the house - alarm with all requirements is installed to perfection. Certificate sent to Insurance company and they came out. I got a $850+ reduction in my annual premium! I can't recommend this firm enough. The apps on iPhone work perfectly. But it's the people here.. From Alex, to Adrian, to Ed to Andrew to the ENTIRE CREW that worked with me. THANK YOU. I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone. And I"m not easy.....35 years as a Wall Street exec, I don't write these things often..Comtron is a 10 Star review and I thank everyone of them. read more

I wish I could give them 10 stars. We waited to post until we'd had 12 months of service with Comtron. They installed a whole new alarm and security camera system for us and everything was done professionally and as promised. There was no hardsell or push to buy unnecessary equipment etc... In fact, we pushed them on possible upgraded equipment. Any issues that we've had since the system was installed, we alert them and they come out the same day to troubleshoot and address. Alex in the office and Greg who works in the field are our guardian angels and are amazing representatives of the company-they are knowledgeable, helpful and just genuinely nice people. I highly recommend Comtron for anyone looking to flee the nonsense of ADT and other larger security "factories." Thank you Comtron-you've got a customer for life! read more

I've been a long time customer on multiple properties and I can tell you they are by far the most responsive customer oriented company in the Desert. Their tech Raul went above and beyond even stopping by the next day to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction, of course it was! Thanks Comtron; techs like Raul will bring and keep customers for you for years!l to come! read more

Our security system needed repair and Comtron sent a tech Raul to our home. He diagnosed the problem, offered several options for the repair and completed the work in good time. He was respectful of our concern about exposure to the virus and arrived wearing masks, gloves and shoe covers and was mindful of keeping an appropriate distance from us. I appreciate his professionalism and efficiency. Thank you Raul. read more

I have been using Comtron for about ten years now. Raul just helped me upgrade my alarm system and did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend them! read more

After my painters left, I was unable to set the alarm when leaving the house without bypassing an area. COMTRON came right out. Raul checked every sensor and found a few that weren't setting. What a shock that was. Raul was terrific. He explained everything carefully so I could understand the problems. I decided to replace the areas that weren't setting with a wireless system and leave the ones that are setting as they are. I hope Raul is the service person who installs the wireless system this week. 5* for Raul and Comtron. read more

Amazing service. We had done an addition some years ago. There were wires hidden not connected to the panel. Amer was able to get everything straightened out. He has lots of experience and knowledge on the latest technology. We were very impressed with his patience on getting the job done. The system is very user friendly. We can arm and disarm our alarm from our phone. We highly recommend him for your home and business security needs. Honest, Reliable, fair price. read more

Best security service hands down! I've called Comtron to install alarm systems multiple times. At home and work. The installers are always very professional and knowledgable about their craft. I purchased a house 2 months ago that had two different alarm systems leftover from previous owners. They were unused, unsightly and needed to be gone before we start painting. The electrician (Todd Hill from Hill Electric) recommended Comtron as a good company to come remove the systems. Wow, was he right! I called and they scheduled the tech for two days later. The tech, Bryan, came right on time and very quickly took care of everything I asked for and more. Their charge was very reasonable. I was very impressed by how professional everyone was. I am very pleased with their service. read more

Terrific customer service! Very professional and efficient! The entire staff that I have encountered, have been extremely helpful! Did what they said, and said what they did! They made me feel that my business was valued. Thank you! read more

Comtron is a small company with lack of service. They do not monitor properly or alert customers of problems. Their price may be lower than some competitors but you get what you pay for which is lack of service. They do not monitor the system as advertised. Do not recommend. read more

We have been customers of Comtron Systems for about 30 years. They recently upgraded my security system with the installation of cameras etc. they arrived on time did outstanding work. All new wiring was hidden. They cleaned up after themselves and helped me install the apps on my cellphone to enable me to monitor the cameras and arming and disarming of the security system. They are always available and respond rapidly to any concerns we have. Kudos to Monty and his team for a job well done. I can only say good things about them and recommend them highly. read more

What a wonderful company. Adrien came out and two days later Ed hooked me into them. I had used another company for 14 years. They did not care about customer service. These folks sure do. They never tried to sell me something new, and their monthly charge is fair. My wife and I could not be more happy. This is the company for single family home security. These are the people you want to deal with. read more

Purchased a home in Joshua Tree in August 2016 and the previous owners had their system through Comtron. I called Comtron to come out and turn on the system and they said to wait until we had our phones and internet all settled. Called them again last week and they told me a rep was in the area the following Wednesday and we made an appointment. They called immediately afterward to tell me the tech rep was actually going to be here Tuesday between 1 and 3. Cancelled some previous plans we had so I could be here. At 2 pm, I received a phone call from their office telling me they no longer serviced the area. They couldn't figure this out when they looked up the account the two times I called? I cancelled other plans and took time off from work. If this is how they treat potential customers I would not want to see how they treat actual customers. read more
