I got my Old Gringo's there. If you love fun, wild, and funky cowboy boots this is the place to go. They're a little on the pricey side, but well worth the boots! I get compliments on all of my boots from here. I also love the Lucasi boots too since I'm narrow footed and have a pretty skinny calf both those and the Old Gringos fit my feet and legs. read more

Just got off phone with salesman who identified himself as Marcos ( the store manager). Just a warning to others who may think of buying something at Allen's - they don't let you know that (evidently) there is a store policy to only give store credits for returns. I bought an expensive belt buckle over the phone - and the salesman had plenty of opportunities to let me know - hey, by the way we have a crazy return policy that is sure to alienate our customers - so you better not buy it unless you are sure. If he would have simply told me that - I wouldn't have bought it - no integrity! Just want sales commission. Not a good place to shop! read more

Took my niece that just came into town to Allen's to find some cool cowboy boots on a $150 budget. Walked in and immidately were greeted by two employees that were so friendly, and asked what happened to my little boy who had a cast on and then gave gave him the cutest toy horse! Yes, gave it to him! Totally made my 2 year old's day! Had two different employees help us while we were looking and again, so friendly! My niece ended up finding an awesome pair of boots for $150! The staff is super nice. They really help you out endlessly I found. I ve tried 3 pairs of boots the guy got Jean for me to try them on as I was wearing baggy pants that day. Help me pick a hat and was honest the whole way! I wanted a pair of really expensive boots and even tho the price wasn't changes he told me himself that those were part of the 30% sale!!! She went way above satisfactory service to find, deliver, and sell EXACTLY what we wanted. My business includes training of behavior/service in the workplace and Tricia is a poster child of example of excellence Unfortunately, I found the opposite in Allen's Round Rock store. My salesperson, a young man whose name I no longer remember, who was originally good on the phone, but when I arrived could not have "cared--less" about help, suggestions, and my purchase of $250 worth of children's clothing. He needs re-training. I don't remember his name, but Tricia might because I told her about my experience. read more

They take weeks to respond to email inquiries, charged my credit card 4x for the same pair of boots, and then send an email weeks later for the boots charged 4x letting me know my selection is not available. I just had a awful visit at Allens boots located in Round Rock Texas. I made a large purchase including a pair of Justin boots for my five year old little girl. I was told they would be in within two days from another location. I went today and was told by the salesman Jason that they wont be in for another month. I was not happy only because my little girl wanted to wear them. I know we all have bad days at work at times, but todat at Allens Boots was not a nice customer day. Mr. Jason was not only rude but would not even help me find out what happened to her order. He took my money for the boots but is now telling me that Justins does not make that size boot 9.5 pink boots and walked away telling me nothing and leaving me at the register with no help. I called the South store and spoke to Ryan and he was wonderful in helping me get the pink boots my little girl wanted. Ryan went out of his way to help a customer that he did not even make the purchase to. Its people like Ryan that make a company look good by his customer service skills. This place is just one big tourist money grab. I went in there over the weekend with my. We tried on a pair of boots. I decided I didn't want to buy them and made that clear to the sales person. My wife bought them after I left as a surprise. I was shocked when they arrived at home today. I explained to her I really didn't want them and let's return them. When I called Allen's to explain the situation they told me absolutely no refunds under any circumstances. My wife said that she wasn't told that when buying the boots. I offered to pay them back for the shipping (we live in Dallas) so long as they refund my credit card. Nope. Only store credit. Period. I talked to the manager and general manager and they were adamant. I explained how terrible of a policy that was and how that can irritate customers. They didn't care. Once they get their slimy hands on your money they refuse to give it back. I shipped the boots back and am disputing my charge with Citi. Stay away from this place. They just want your money and don't care about the customer. read more

They have more than boots. They have hats shirts,belts and jeans. The prices were steep, but they were for the most part handmade. The lady asked me how I was doing and I said I found the perfect shoe, but a half size too small. It felt right though. She told me how to tell that it fit right and I ended up takin them home. Made my first cowboy boot purchase at Allen Boots today and I'm completely satisfied and would definitely recommend them to anyone. Decided to go during the week instead to avoid the weekend madness. I had been boot shopping before at other western stores and found the boot selection and service very lacking. Jordan assisted me and was very friendly and was happy to answer any questions I had. This place has a wonderful selection of high end, top quality, leather cowboy and working boots in all sizes, shapes and colors. Custom Boots available as well, but be prepared to pay top dollar for top quality. First off, I want to say that if you are looking for cowboy boots in Texas, Allen's has the best selection, the best staff and the best location out of any other place I have visited in the state. The store is slowly resisting change on a street that has been transformed over the last few years. Their ability to keep consistent product, and sell it well is why I went there and the reason most people I know get their boots from Allen's. I bought a very reasonably priced pair of Ariat boots...Not the most expensive or luxury pair they carry, but after caring consultation with some of the Allen's staff, they let me feel it was the best boot for what I was looking for. No pressure service! They also carry a wide range of accessories, like belt buckles, hats and shirts. Check out the newest Wrangler pearl snaps, they're a new school spin on a classic design. After spending some time in these boots, I love 'em! It was a good choice, aided by great service. Bought my husband a pair of boots for his birthday at Allens. He loves them and wears them to work everyday.

I bought a 2 pairs of Lucchese's from this store on May 20th. 2 days later a shank on one pair started having some issues so I returned it to the store. They sent it off for repairs and told me to wait 4-6 weeks (close call for my wedding). 4 weeks pass and I call them up for my boots. ***Ends up they got them in a week ago and sold them to someone else!*** It's a great day when you learn that 1) the boots you paid $400 for were given to someone else 2) the boots you bought for your wedding on July 16th are out of stock until August 12th. To top it off they are only offering me a refund. I would expect at least a discount or gift card for another purchase for such a massive oversight. I'd never gotten around to visiting Allens in all my years in town. I came to Yelp to laud the Selection if not necessarily the prices. It looks like it's all been said (By the last reviewer) The selection is uncompared in my experience and you do feel overwelmingly like buying a pair (or 3) immediately. Then you get a look at the price tags and wonder if that pair you like the best is really worth it. The place is almost a museum of boots -very impressive. I bought A very expensive pair of boots from Allen's and brought them home and that evening the zipper in the back broke so brought them back the next day as I was in town just visiting. They were FRYE Boots and Jordan at Allen's was very helpful and his follow through helped a great deal. Although FRYE will not replace the boots Allen's is getting them repaired for me and sending them to LA. These were one of a kind and I really loved them and so grateful that Jordan was so professional and helped me out. I have bought at least five (5) pairs of boots here, but not anymore. I didn't mind too much when their prices began to creep up but now they are almost insanely high. Still, I always enjoyed walking in and trying on boots. Lately, I noticed the customer service began to slip from good to mediocre to just poor. The staff is no longer the friendly, helpful people they were in the past. Then one day, I almost came out of my boots! I was looking to buy another pair of very expensive boots. I was bit surprised that no one came by to offer assistance. So I hunted a worker down. Asked him a question, to which he had no answer and then when I asked to use the restroom. He said I "could not". I was speechless. I explained that I had previously bought several pairs of boots and was probably going to purchase another one on this day, he said I could go to "Guerro's" and use their restroom and come back and buy the boots. Really? Since boots are made for walking, that is just what I did. I went to Cavenders and bought 2 pairs of boots there. By the way, Cavenders also let me use their restroom! read more
