Samosas - It came 2 piece and 2 sauce. It's a reasonable price and it was good. Basmati Rice- plain white rice it was good and standard Garlic Naan- it was really dry barely taste the breading. Think we had a bad batch. Overall it was okay to me, since I would rate mostly on the Tiki Masala and garlic naan. I always order this everytime I get Indian food. Service was okay but not the best from other Indian restaurants.It took awhile for them to come when we were ready. When i look to notice a server they were just talking with other coworker. There are restaurants that exist in the world who's whole purpose is to serve great food, and many do. And then there are restaurants that take you on a journey because you can taste and see the passion behind everything they do. This was unquestionably the latter. Five stars. And only five stars because I am incapable of giving it more. The food was exceptional, but the one thing that elevated the entire experience was the truly memorable hospitality during the evening. Our server, Raj, first took the time to get to know us. He did not simply take our order but he was intentional in learning about each of our very different palettes. He asked the right questions and guided us toward flavors and dishes that we probably would not have discovered or even ventured to on our own. Every recommendation was another success. He was knowledgeable, personable, incredibly attentive, and somehow managed to be present whenever he was needed without ever feeling intrusive. Beyond our table, the hospitality continued. The owner, Harsimran, made a point of coming over, visiting us, and making us feel genuinely welcome and cared for. Even the young woman who had been working the front, who held no responsibility or obligation to our table, was so charming and warm that she added something wonderful to the experience simply through the way she interacted with us. A cheery "welcome," a slight nod, a warm smile. It made all the difference. And then there was the food. Their spices are procured locally and ground in-house. The commitment to this kind of quality certainly shows in the final product. The attention to detail in this establishment is as impressive as I have encountered in any restaurant, and I have dined, and worked in many. Nothing felt out of place or arbitrary. Nothing felt auxiliary. There was absolute intention behind the ingredients, the preparation, the presentation, and the balance of flavors. You could taste the passion in every dish that reached the table and you could smell that same passion from each dish before you even saw it coming. The intoxicating aromas surrounded us like a gentle wind that we were happy to be stuck in. And I have to specifically mention the gulab jamun. Quite simply put, it was the best I have ever tasted-- and I have tasted many... my figure proves that. I would return to this location for this dish alone. But therein lies the problem with this place: you leave feeling completely satisfied while simultaneously thinking about everything you had not had the opportunity to try. Before you've even walked out the door, or even risen from your table, you're already planning your next visit because you have things that you know you're going to crave and others on the menu that you suddenly can't live without trying. For me, round two is already decided: a deep dive into their specialty halwa with house-made pistachio ice cream, made from locally sourced and hand selected pistachios. Exceptional food. Exceptional hospitality. Exceptional attention to detail. This is what a five-star dining experience should feel like, and I can't wait to return. All India Cafe is the real deal! This review is based off the DineLA menu. The dinner menu is $35pp and comes with a vast selection of food options. The restaurant has street parking and about 7 spots in the back alley of the restaurant. The staff here are some of friendliest people from the moment you walk in. We were greeted and seated quickly. The restaurant is very clean and has a beautiful mural with other aesthetics decor all over. The DineLA menu was delicious. We were able to try so much different appetizers and entrees and desserts. They also offered a glass of wine or beer on the DineLA menu too. The presentation of the food came out steadily. Drinks, then appetizers and entrees shortly after. My wife enjoyed the whole experience. I personally ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala with the Nirvana Tofu. The tastes of the curries were so yummy. I cosign for those selections if you're interested. He mentioned they're still in their soft opening phase and also run the location in Old Town Pasadena. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, my brother chose the lamb curry, and my husband got the eggplant appetizer, a Frankie wrap, and the fish curry. We all agreed the food was flavorful, authentic, and served in generous portions. The naan was fresh and perfectly cooked, so good! My husband couldn't stop raving about the Frankie, which is essentially a full meal wrapped up in one delicious Indian burrito. Finding restaurants that are both flavorful and halal-friendly means a lot to me and my wife, and that's what brought us to All India Cafe. We specifically chose this spot because Yelp listed it as halal, and our waitress confirmed it as well. I do wish there was clearer signage on the menu or inside the restaurant stating this, as it would make diners feel more comfortable right away. Of course, I also personally wish alcohol wasn't served, but I understand many restaurants choose to offer it. Let's start with drinks: My wife ordered the Madras Margarita Mocktail (lemongrass, cilantro, mint, and serrano chili). It had a refreshing kick, and the serrano pepper wedged into the mouth of the glass was such a cool presentation ,first time we've ever seen that! She absolutely loved it. I ordered a mango lassi. I've had many mango lassis over the years, and unfortunately this one had an aftertaste I didn't care for. I mentioned it to the owner, and he immediately apologized and removed it from the bill, excellent customer service. Now for the food: Gulabi Farfalle (Indian-Italian fusion pasta) One of the three highlights of the night. A creamy tomato-based sauce with Indian flavors, comforting, unique, and well executed. Dahi Pani Puri Another standout. Unlike traditional pani puri where everything bursts in your mouth at once, these were already filled with potato, spices, and yogurt, creating a cool, soothing balance. The colorful mini carts they're served in are a really nice touch. Ginger Ice Cream The third highlight. Beautifully balanced ginger flavor and not an overwhelming scoop, just right. A perfect ending. Other dishes: Vegetarian Soup - Decent, but could use more vegetables, more flavor, and a bit more kick. Tandoori Half Chicken - Moist, flavorful, and well-marinated. Honestly great on its own; the green sauce isn't necessary. Lamb Biryani - Rice and lamb were both moist and pleasant to eat. Solid dish. Peshwari Naan - Okay, but nothing memorable. The marmalade-style sauce wasn't needed. Ambience & Service: The decor is thoughtfully done and showcases Indian culture beautifully. Restrooms were clean and smelled good. Parking isn't great, but we got lucky. The surrounding stores were closed and the area was dark, though All India Cafe itself was well lit. The owner, Simran, is very cool and easy to talk to, wishing him nothing but success with this restaurant and props to his dad and following in his footsteps. The two cute young ladies working were hustling hard; one with a face mask especially looked exhausted. Someone please give her a well-deserved day off! This local family-owned restaurant serves the BEST Indian food I've ever had and I'm absolutely thrilled they've opened a new location closer to us! The Gulabi Farfalle is such an interesting marriage between the Indian and Italian food genres - it's a creamy tomato curry sauce with Farfalle pasta and it's divine! I adore chat dishes and theirs was the best I've had - fresh with prominent hints of citrus, generous portions of large succulent shrimp, and the chat textures were just beautiful. We also loved the nirvana curry - the fish was so light and flaky and the coconut based curry was flawless - creamy and decadent without being overly heavy. And the garlic naan - omggg it's SO DELICIOUS! They make it only when ordered - fresh in house so it's not sitting and drying out - it's so crispy and delightful. This family really are masters of their craft! At their Pasadena location we've tried the Pani Puri shots, various curries, their paneer, and basmati rice - all of it excellent and it seems that they have much of the same menu here in Arcadia. The ambiance here is elegant and chic with some beautiful murals on the walls as well as paintings and decor. They have comfy booths and tables with nice views of Huntington Dr. Service is attentive and so welcoming. Prices are moderate and justified imo given the elevated quality.
