Not trustworthy! My husband booked a place for us as we look for longer term housing. A while after booking and getting confirmation, they sent an email. It's a holiday weekend and they demanded a response the same day. We replied the following morning but were told they already cancelled our reservation. Wouldn't we just book again at their new price that's $1,500 more? Talking to them to try and resolve, it was clear they just wanted more money. There was no urgent issue, they never called, they just decided they could get more money than our reservation. So be warned if you reserve with them... they may leave you hanging. EDIT: The owner left a response citing verification processes. We completed everything asked for on booking and NEVER received any communications on August 28 or 29. I have the message receipts and can gladly share. Our only message was Aug. 30 and we responded within a day, despite the holiday weekend! The property was still available. They just wanted to jack the price over $1k. read more

Earlier this year, we decided, on a whim, to have a beach day and called up last minute to rent some chairs, umbrellas, and a cooler. The staff could not have been kinder or more accommodating. They immediately set us up with everything we needed for a relaxing day by the water and even offered us a discount, which was such a thoughtful touch. They delivered everything right to our resort and later came back to pick it all up, making the experience effortless from beginning to end. The owner was especially wonderful--warm, genuine, and full of great recommendations for local spots to eat and explore. It was such a beautiful reminder of the true aloha spirit we love so much. As someone who grew up on the island of Guam--another beautiful but farther-to-reach Pacific gem--returning to Hawaii always fills my spirit with that same island way of life: generous, easygoing, deeply rooted in community and kindness. We stayed in unit 2613 at 1777 Ala Moana PH suite. The bathroom has black mold, The refrigerator is filthy. The living room TV is broken with a line running through the screen. The A/C in the living room is not able to cool the unit, and the electrical outlet isn't working. Very poor cleanliness. They communicated stating they would try and resolve. We asked the following questions: Was the unit cleaned before our arrival? No response. Was the unit inspected for any damages or problems before our arrival? No response. The cleaner came in and said that the black mold has been there for a while and maintenance was supposed to fix it a long time ago and she cannot do anything more. For the amount of money we are paying per night, compounded over our week long stay, it is abysmally overrated. 5-star hotels cost less with better quality and service. read more

We spent a month in the Royal Moana property in Waikiki. unfortunately we were not able to get a unit with a parking space and if you are renting a car for your stay then a parking space is definitely necessary as other parking in the area is difficult to find and very expensive. The unit was mostly clean , the kitchen well equipped , loved that there was a good coffee maker and rice cooker. We felt safe in the area. The little Waikiki market next door was convenient but is very busy and a meeting place for homeless and others hanging out. They were very responsive to our needs and quickly responded to fix a couple issues. communication was excellent. the beds were comfortable but the other furniture was not. a wicker settee with a thin, worn and well used seatpad was the only seating except for two plastic molded chairs. we found the area noisy , busy ,a route for fire trucks, police and emergency vehicles . however it is very close to restaurants and all the life Waikiki has to offer if that is what you are looking for. the condo and area would not be our choice again but thats just because of what we enjoy and would want next time not because there was any problem with Ali'i Rentals. We would like to look at their other properties and have no hesitation renting from this company again. read more

We really enjoyed our stay at the condos in Turtle bay. The place was so clean and spacious. They made sure we had all the essentials from bathroom toiletries to kitchen appliances and even things for the beach. I was especially happy to find a rice cooker and coffee maker. Excellent response time, service and ease of booking with Alii. My wife and I stayed at one of their homes in Makaha. They took my reservation almost a year in advance. 5-6 months later they cancelled it and then relisted the same condo for a lot more money. You can't trust a business like this. They will screw you over and leave you hanging. Save yourself the trouble. There are a lot of other Property Management companies out there that won't rip you off like these guys. read more

Ali'i Beach Rentals responded to my review with more lies - they said "Airbnb had a temporary glitch on it's platform which allowed Jess to book it for a month and a half at $2,881 instead of our actual rate of $7,420!" - This is not true, I booked 2 weeks (May 18, 2024 - Sat, Jun 1, 2024) for $3,310.65. "That's s $4,539 difference!!" - If $7,420 is the rate for a month and a half, my 2 week booking should have cost about $7,420/6 = $2,473 but I was charged $3,310.65. "After going back and forth with Airbnb they finally took responsibility for the mistake and Airbnb cancelled all 58 reservations that were affected by the glitch on their website." - Prove it, Airbnb support says they did not cancel my booking, Ali'i Beach Rentals cancelled it, but if Ali'i Beach Rentals can prove Airbnb is lying I'd love to know. "As soon as we were aware we nicely explained all this to Jess, but she decided to leave this review saying we were to blame." - They haven't responded to my messages, just my yelp review to try and blame Airbnb again. read more

Impressive customer service. About 15 years ago, one of my investor clients asked me to help her find a new vacation rental property manager. After interviewing several, she decided on Ali'i Beach Rentals and have been with them ever since. Because of their excellent customer service and their ability to produce great results, I've felt very comfortable referring all of my investor clients to ABR through the years. They have their own contractors who can do renovations and repairs at reasonable cost in a timely manner. They have an in-house storage facility with supplies of linen, lamps, pillows and just about anything that goes into a vacation rental unit. Lastly, they have their own cleaning crew that can turn a unit around in time for the next guests. All this adds up to an efficient and streamline process that allows ABR to provide excellent service to the owners and vacationers. Would not rent from this business. They will take your booking and when they can get more $ for the property you have booked they will cancel you and re rent for the higher amount. Cancelation policy is a one way street here,If you have to cancel they will keep your deposit but you are just left hanging if they cancel. Poor way to do business. Unfortunately had to deal with a lot of issues and unprofessionalism by renting from this rental property. We rented a Vrbo from this property management company in the Waikiki Skytower, room 1901, for 2 months from April 1st to June 6th of 2021. On Day 1 we had noticed there were bugs on the bed, and which I had notified them to look at. It took them over a week to respond. not only that, but we had a termite infestation at our house. Termites flew all over the house and we had to be placed into a different property. They handled it decently ok, giving us a partial refund, but the guy on the phone was nonchalant about it. read more

I rented a condo in Waikiki at the Waikiki Sunset. On the first day the remote for the TV batteries I had to replace. The ice maker was not hooked up to the water source but was turned on and made noises in the night. Woke me and I had to figure it out. Turned it off and the noise went away. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was filthy and was not efficient. Condo is for four people and only had 3 wine glasses. I went out and bought some more. The Teflon cookware was all scratched up and toxic. The stove was a fire hazard due to the control knobs not working right. You would turn it off and it would still be on. The towel bar in the bathroom kept falling off. I was there for almost 3 weeks and there were zero cleaning supplies. Not even laundry soap. No spices, coffee, tea, cooking oil etc that is usually in place at a vacation rental. This was more like a hotel room without any services. I have stayed at many a vacation rental and this was so not up to my expectations. I paid really good money for this stay also. Never again. read more

My family and I stayed at a beautiful villa in Ko'olina. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised as everything from the reservations to checkout was friendly and efficient. Quiet, safe, and comfortable is all that we had hoped for, but this turned out to be the perfect vacation! We were amazed at how surreal the gated community felt as if we were on movie set. We just used Ali'i this month. Dealing with the company itself was really easy. As for the unit, NOT impressed by the cleanliness. We stayed at the Wyndham Garden unit 2405. The unit has possibilities but it has NOT been as updated furnishings wise for quite some time. It's old, worn out and dirty. I would also recommend getting a new cleaning company as I had to do a LOT of spot cleaning, dirty dishes and dirty coffee pot. They should really keep some cleaning supplies in unit. read more

We stayed in the island colony on the 38th floor. It was absolutely perfect for my husband and I. The room was a good size, the kitchen was fully stocked with all the cooking things you could need, and the TV was a great size. We were also pleasantly surprised to have beach towels and beach chairs in the closet! The room was clean and check in was a breeze. We loved how close it was to the mall, all the restaurants, and the beach. We walked to everything in 5-10 minutes. We also enjoyed the pool, which was never crowded! Booked my Stay at the Ilikai Marina condo with VRBO website, which is managed by Ali'I Beach Rentals in Honolulu . I had several issues with Unit 394, Tv's were old, had two technicians in and the problem persisted my entire stay. Had to rebook tv every time I turned on the Tv? lost internet for one day. Did not have water or Air conditioning one day, a few days later we lost water again for a day. That also means you don't have laundry facilities either. Internet was off for one day. the furniture was fairly recent but, the appliances were dirty and old. Bathtub had stains and stickers that were removed and left stains. Paint on all doors were chipped and dirty. Front door had a modern keyless lock which was nice but, they door was dirty anf need to be replaced. VRBO was never ever able to help during or after the stay, and were useless. better to book direct since they offer no assistance and charge 65.00 to make the booking. Ali' beach rentals did offer assistance during my stay but, never did resolve any of the issues. Iam requesting partial refund, this process and condo were miserable, read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ko Olina golf estates. The place was immaculate, and location couldn't be beat. The property managers provided 5-star service from check-in to checkout and the whole time in between. The place was well furnished, very clean, and stocked with everything my partner and I needed to get the most of our vacation. We like to cook so having brand new kitchen appliances was a major plus. The nearby Monkeypod restaurant was also incredible on the nights we didn't feel like cooking. We will be booking our next visit with Alii for sure! read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM ANY ALII BEACH RENTALS PROPERTY. The management of these properties is TERRIBLE. Use caution if you decide to go with these folks. Alii Beach Rentals policy is that you pay for your stay up front and in FULL. When you need them in a time of emergency (like we did), they will NOT be there for you. Probably because they already had all of our money..... We received an email with our package of instructions on how to let ourselves into the condo. We had no problem getting in. But our condo smelled of must, mildew, and mold. One look at the A/C unit and we knew why. The A/C unit was moldy and covered in dust. See attached pictures. It was disgusting. We called the TWO telephone numbers printed on our instruction package in case of emergencies or problems. Telephone number #1 went to voicemail. I left a message to see if we could switch units to another property. No one called us back within 30 minutes so we called telephone #2. That was a fax machine. After having traveled over 8 hours (midnight for us in CST), we were tired and did not appreciate the lack of communication with Alii Beach Rentals. Since we were both allergic to dust and mold and did not appreciate having the moldy dusty A/C unit DIRECTLY next to the bed, we decided we just could not stay here. THE NEXT DAY, I get a TEXT message from Shelly asking me if I received her email. When did people start sending emails in response to an emergency call/ voicemail? Isnt my cell phone the easiest way to reach me instead of email? What is unclear when I say "PLEASE CALL ME BACK" that someone emails me instead of calling? Completely UNACCEPTABLE. So I reply to her TEXT message telling her that I dont have internet access on my phone and I tell her I am completely disappointed with Alii Beach Rentals and their response to emergencies. I tell her I did not and will not be staying at that property. I tell her I want a full refund and to CALL ME to discuss the situation further. Of course, she did not call me. Curious to know what her email said, I found a place to access my email account. The email stated that she didnt get my message until THE NEXT MORNING. (Why give me a phone number to call for emergencies if you know you wont get it until the next day?) She then stated they were changing over their phone systems and gave me a completely new number I never had before (Why didnt they give me this number then instead of the two useless unresponsive numbers?) Then she tells me that ALL OTHER UNITS in our building have clean A/C's except ours because the cleaning guy has been busy and she'll check with his schedule to see when he can get it done. SERIOUSLY??? Is there only one guy on the ENTIRE island of Oahu that knows how to clean??? It wasnt even just the A/C being moldy but the entire unit smelled of it because Alii Rentals DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO KEEP YOUR A/C on while you are out. So when the A/C is off, the mold begins to flourish because mold loves warm and humid. Reasons why bathrooms get moldy and mildewy..... Anyways, as you can tell by the photos, the A/C unit has probably never been cleaned, at least not for a year. They can blame it on busy schedules and phone system changes, but I'm disappointed that Alii Rentals took NO RESPONSIBILITY in their failure to get back to me timely, to have the unit cleaned BEFORE my stay (not during my planned stay), or to give me any new phone numbers BEFORE the phone change over just in case the change over happened during my vacation. On April 29, 2011, I speak with Kai, the manager who also does not apologize for what happened. He tells me more excuses about their change in phone system. (Okay, great, what about why the A/C unit was moldy and nasty and not cleaned before my arrival??) He mentioned nothing about the A/C unit being filthy and moldy. He just tells me he will give me a full refund in the form of a check. On May 6, 2011, over a week later, I check my mail and still no check. I email Alii Beach Rentals. Finally check received May 9, 2011. Lesson Learned: DONT book with Alii Beach Rentals. Their prices for ROYAL MOANA are cheap but its because the place is nasty. Did I mention the cockroach I saw on the property? It was hanging around outside the area that lead to the door of our unit. GROSS. If I weren't so afraid of bugs I would have taken a picture of that creature as more evidence to show how gross this place is! If you want a nice place to stay, check out my review of Aston Pacific Monarch. Aston has a CHAIN of HOTELS so they are legit, and the Pacific Monarch has a kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, stove, blender, everything you need WITHOUT the dirt and mold. Aston Pacific Monarch has a staff ON LOCATION 24 hrs a day 7 days a week so they will not email you or text you in a time of emergency. They'll talk to you immediately like your problem is IMPORTANT and not ignore you like Alii Beach Rentals did. read more

Ali'i beach rentals are as good as it gets!! We have stayed in three different properties of theirs and all three properties were held to our highest expectations. Everything you would want at a beach rental on vacation was supplied for us. The places with kitchens had the top of the line pots and pans, along with appliances to make us feel like we were cooking at home. The condos were very clean. On our last day, we were late checking out and when the cleaning lady came in she removed even the clean towels out of the closet to be washed for the next visitors. This personally showed me that they go extra lengths to make sure their visitors have the freshest cleanest towels. Many of the properties also came with beach supplies like umbrellas, inflatables, and beach chairs which saved us even more instead of having to pay for rentals. If there were any issues big or small Gabby and Rita were always there to talk to and are truly caring individuals who hold the Aloha spirit. If you are looking for a vacation rental place go with Ali'i. You can't beat the price and you can't beat the hospitality Ali'i offers. Booked a rental. When we arrived the code for the door would not work. After several trips from the 21st floor to customer service that was finally fixed. We noticed there was a notification in the hallways and elevators stating our unit would not have water from the 11th to the 20th from 8-5. The notice was posted in September but we were not informed. Days and days of trying to reach someone. We were upset. We finally worked with Air BNB to find another rental. So we packed everything up and moved. The rental we are in now is spacious. The air conditioner does not cool this unit. There are tiny white bugs in this unit. We have had to put any and all food in the fridge. At this point we are down trying to get a space that provides cold air, no bugs, and water. All three of these things you might want to ask if the unit you are renting has? Because apparently this company has not provided us an easy comfortable stay. read more

I have to say that Ali'i Beach Rentals - Ka'ili Hopkins and all the staff I came into contact with were just simply wonderful! I returned to Hawai'i for a long weekend, 50th Class Reunion event and stayed at the Waikiki Beach Tower Residences. Not only is the entire property beautifully maintained, but in particular Ali'i's unit 504 located right over the pool was nothing short of perfection. The unit was exactly as the photos portrayed it - going in it was clean, well appointed, and perfect for my adult daughter! While there was a small issue with the in-unit washing machine, a simple phone call was responded to within less than 2 hours and the problem resolved. In the hospitality business, we know there may be problems, it is how we respond to them that counts - Ali'i Rentals stepped up awesomely! We booked a 1 bedroom condo through Ali'i Beach Rentals for a 3-Night stay at the Waikiki Banyan. Upon arrival, the condo was not what we expected. It was in need of much attention. We contacted Ali'i about this issue and Gabby contacted her manager and was able to upgrade our stay for the remaining 2 nights at a fabulous 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom condo on the main strip (Kalakaua Ave.), directly across Waikiki Beach.
