I've used alignment techniques for many years before they switch up ownership. I will not be going back.. The reason... they now charge you a fee to even look at your vehicle. If they get it on the rack and they can't align it.. they will still charge you.. and no, that fee will not be applied towards when you come back in after your problems are fixed .. Why the one star review.. because there is absolutely nothing on their walls or on the desk when you walk in that states this policy. Heck they don't even bother to mention it to you verbally! The lady at the front desk (in my opinion) was pretty rude about it when I challenged them on that practice. It's deception and honestly bad business practice. Almost everyone I trust recommended going to this shop. They had my truck all day. And after calling to see if it was done, they proceeded to explain it wasn't my alignment that was the problem, it was that I needed new lower control arms. A $1200 JOB. I was given a quote for new work, a bill for an alignment (which was not done) and the keys to my truck. I drove away from that shop with the truck still out of alignment and proceeded to call a mechanic my family has been going to for 30 yrs in BOZEMAN MONTANA, 11 hrs away!! When I arrived in Bozeman I found out that not only did my lower control arms not need replacement, but that my trucks alignment was totally out of wack. Alignment Techniques can't be trusted. They always do a great job with alignment! Also very nice to talk with Leave it at that. If there is ever ANYTHING ELSE that they recommend you need, go elsewhere. My daughter took her van in for an alignment, but they said they couldn't do it because she needed new idler arms. Great, just $450! The parts cost $11.65 each and took about 15 minutes each to install. Seems like $800/hour is a pretty steep rate. Like I said, great folks, and great alignments. Watch your wallet. Came here with my truck drifting to one side. They said two things: 1) "You don't need an alignment. It's fine." 2) But, your steering bushings are bad and you've got a "bent control arm" Took it to the dealer for a second opinion. They said: 1) Your alignment is way out. They gave me a report showing one front wheel was heavily toed in. (They aligned it and now it tracks straight.) 2) Your bushings are fine and we don't see anything bent (and they had *three* techs inspect it). I call bullshit. Again, watch your wallet. read more

I have been a customer of Alignment Techniques for many years. Although they are under different ownership things have only changed for the better. I wouldn't trust my alignment to any other shop in town. They are extremely professional and have state of the art equipment. Appointments are usually a week or two out and worth the wait. They have aligned many cars of mine, especially after being lowered and lifted. If you need an alignment give them a call. I can't recommend them enough. read more

After leaving, by the next day, still pulling a little with the steering wheel off by quite a bit. I ended bringing it back and they rushed to get it figured out. While rushing.... The second kid got it lined up correctly but twisted my my tie rod ends crushing each tie rod boot / bellows on each side. Too much in a hurry to loosen a clamp? I guess so... I had a very positive experience with Alignment techniques. After sliding on ice and hitting a curb my alignment was off and traction control & steering sensors were not working. I took it to the dealer and they quoted $6k to replace almost the whole front suspension on one side, and I would be out of a car for at least a week. Instead I took it to this place and the got me in the same day - did an alignment and re calibrated the sensors for $250 I was on the road that afternoon. read more

In this world, have people become so indignant, rude, and not wanting to understand a repair shop, or matter of fact, any business, needs to account for their time. After reading posts, one person, unnamed, was not expressing what actually happened, and that he was not charged for the time the technician, who looked at the vehicle. True, the fact the vehicle could not be aligned stated the technician; however, customer stating another shop said it could. So why did you not have the vehicle repaired there????? There are always two sides or more to a story being presented, so people, if you want to criticize, or be rude to a business, do it in person, not all over the web. I have never known these people to be unfair, nor do a repair they know won't last, or will give you information the vehicle is unrepairable (in their opinion, as most legit businesses will discuss with you. Everyone, charges a fee these day, call a plumber, or electrician, see if you can have them look at something for you??? OH yes, there will be look and see fee. They installed a sub par, weak steering box in my F 350 several months ago and it loosened up and started steering badly again. This is on a F 350 Ford 4x4 pulling a large enclosed trailer, 16,000 GCWR so sloppy steering becomes scary and dangerous. They would not do anything, they would not warranty anything they did, so I had to pay another company to put a good strong steering box in my truck. How many of you would find having to pay for the same thing twice as fair? I do NOT recommend them. read more

I asked around town for the best place to get an alignment. This place got great reviews. My tow truck drive swore by them. I even asked one of the tire guys at Costco. So I was sold. I'm going to give this shop a shot. Im tired of how Les schwab over charges for everything. So I played phone tag for two days because I work and the shop is obviously very busy. Got my spot for the following week. I bribed a coworker with a Starbucks coffee to leave her house 30 min early to pick me up and take me to work and then drop me back off at the shop after work. This is the fine customer service I was greeted with when I walked in. Guy behind counter: can I help you Me: yes I'm picking up my car Guy: what car Me: Subaru Tribeca (and point to it out side) Guy: we don't have a Subaru. You sure your at the right place? Me: yes. Thats my car. I dropped it off this morning. Guy: what's your name? I tell him Guy: we thought you didn't show up. Me: I was here this morning at 7:30. Dropped my keys in the drop box Guy: yells to the back, did anyone check the drop box. (No) Guys get me keys and then tells me they didn't t fix it. Discount Tire sent me to this shop because they broke a lug but off while trying to put my new tires on. The shop said they could do the work. I dropped it off at 8:15am. They waited until 4:30 to call me and tell me discount tire shouldn't be paying for this. I explain I didn't know this was in for inspection but for them to do the work. The lady that called me ask if they could keep it and work on it tomorrow. I was ok with that. Well the next morning at 8:01am she called me to tell me they will not work on it. So pretty much keeping my truck for 24hours to tell me they can't do there job. I will never bring a vehicle to them or refer them to anyone. I hope discount tire finds a new shop also. Very unprofessional. Took it to les Swab and they had it done in 2 hours with the new wheels and tires installed. read more

This place is very unprofessional. I took my truck in for an alignment because my front tires were wearing on the inside.it didnt pull or anything.they said they couldn't get my tie rods loose.So they tried to charge me 40 dollar inspection fee.i said i wasnt paying them to look at my truck i asked for an alignment not an inspection.So i took my truck to my mechanic (yes a guy with an actual buisness being a mechanic).he said they shouldnt have had any problems loosening them.So i take my truck back too VR alignment techniques and they proceed to do alignment.well i pick up my truck and went to leave camping and when i got up to 65 it pulls very hard to the right now so i call VR they make new appoint a couple days later .they do new alignment and proceed to try and tell me there machine must have malfunctioned. Well, I had an appointment at 8am, for a Monday morning (set up a week in advance, cuz they were so busy). Uncharacteristically, I promptly forgot about it until 9am, at which time I called, apologized profusely, and they said if I could get it in the next 45 minutes they would still be able to do it while I waited. I was there in 25 minutes. They took less than 1/2 hour to do a 4-wheel alignment on my '01 Audi A6 Avant. They were courteous, knowledgeable, quick and very reasonable (even $3 less than they quoted me over the phone). Car drives great. Knowledgeable staff and competent. I redid my suspension and replaced most of the parts (ball joints, tie rods, etc). I took the car in for an alignment and they did a great job. Luckily, for me, the tech caught a dangerous mistake I made not seating the ball joints properly. It was my first time doing suspension work in the garage and I just did not correctly install them. At first when I was making my initial appointment on the phone the guy sounded a bit frank and rude, which made me worry if I was going with the right place, however I think it was just his personality. When I got there I dealt with the son of the owner, who was extremely nice and genuine, and went above and beyond for me, even under tight time constraints (my fault)... They didn't try to charge me for anything crazy, or rip me off, I just had the standard alignment done and my car really needed it... They worked with me to get some aftermarket control arms for my vehicle to enable the alignment to be dialed in better than the factory equipment allowed. Great company, probably underpriced compared to the other options, which seems to only be dealers. I got more information about my truck's alignment than I've ever got anywhere else, and paid less. I made an appt 2 days ahead of time and waited there while they did the work, which took about 45min. If you don't care what it costs, and value getting your a** kissed by the dealer service writer, this isn't the shop for you. If you value no B.S. work, you'll fit right in. BTW there's no secretary; they all work, so if you get the answering machine during the day, just call back in an hour; you'll be much happier than waiting around for them to return your call. read more

VW Eurovans are known tire gobblers, and, when we bought a used one, sure enough the tires were badly worn, with different wear at each corner. Bought new tires, took the van to Alignment Techniques for a 4-wheel alignment, and now after 10k miles the tires all look like new. Nice job. read more
