Alexa's Cafe is a huge space on a main street through town, with plenty of parking in the rear. At 10:00AM, only 9 tables were full and there were 6 staff on the floor. Service was immediate. "Blythe" was my server and she was so fast and efficient, positive, helpfull... really excellent! It took awhile to size up Alexa's... my first impression was very positive. At Alexa's fried red potatoes are standard faire for most breakfast entrées...very impressive. 3-egg options top the list, I had the "Farmers Plate" (2-eggs, bacon & red potatos with sour-dough bread). The two eggs were freshly fried, hot and delicious. The carmelized red potatos were obviously cooked earlier in the morning, tasty but dry. The bacon had been fried earlier also, then reheated before serving. That's when it occured to me that the food is cafeteria style, volume-produced. I shouldn't have been surprized, it makes sense that a restaurant that seats 100 people is going to precook as much of their food as possible. I had arrived after the breakfast rush when things had quieted down, yet breakfast was not as freshly cooked as I would have expected. The coffee was very good! ...and Blythe was johnny-on-the-spot with refills. But $3.00 for coffee is unusually high for a cafeteria-style meal. There are culinary "tricks" to keep potatos fresh and hydrated, and pre-cooked bacon can be finish-fried before serving... to eliminate the taste of bacon grease. Just saying! The servers certainly earn their tips... so my meal with tip approached $20.00. At that price the overall experience was 3-Stars. read more

The best coffee I've had, I don't know, maybe ever? Rich, full bodied, not too bitter, gorgeously delicious coffee. And yes, there was food too. I ordered the Italian Scramble. It was very good. A little on the chilly side, but still very good. The potatoes were fine. We ordered 4 bacons to share. Very good bacon. The weather was beautiful, lucky there because it was busy enough that there was quite a wait and we spent it outside, but it was charming with the street closed and the sun shining and 50 people relaxing sitting at bistro tables on a perfect Sunday morning waiting to be seated. We said we'd take indoor or outdoor seating, we got indoor. Meh, oh well, I thought our chances were 50/50, but I suspect really if you only want outdoor seating you'd better say it. Alexa's is your typical American breakfast spot. If you go during peak times, expect a wait since it can get quite busy. Luckily, you can make a reservation up to 1-hour in advance so just call them ahead of time! If you show up and the wait is really long, there's another breakfast place across the street that isn't busy at all. I got the Alexa's Slam, which is the standard pancakes, eggs and bacon plate. It's a great choice if you're undecided on what to order. I enjoyed the fluffy pancakes but by no means do I think this is their specialty. I'm not sure if Alexa's has a specialty to begin with. With that said, I thought my dish was alright. Nothing stood out and I don't think it's anything to write home about. The servers here can be a little reckless. If you order a hot dish like a quiche, the plates come out piping hot. They don't warn you when handing you your plate so I would be cautious when your food comes out. I'm pretty sure I've never visited the restaurant but this past year quite a few crazy work mornings (at home) have been greatly improved by deliveries from Alexa's. I've enjoyed a variety of breakfast and lunch items from their menu but keep coming back to the Florentine Benedict (love their hollandaise sauce but usually ask them to exclude it because it's a lot of food) and the warm latte. This restaurant has been a local family favorite since I was young! I visited for my first time in a couple years and was pleasantly surprised at the vegan options available. I ordered the vegan egg sandwich, which came with just egg as the vegan egg, a veggie sausage patty and lots of veggies. This sandwich was big and gave me lots of leftovers, becoming 2 meals for one! Alexa's is nice sized and I was a bit surprised how busy it was for a Thursday morning. Patrons varied from the elderly, families with small children and those eating alone. Alexa's is a farm-to-table organicy cafe which I like. Beer and wine are available. My wife and I always drink beer with our meals but it felt out of place to do so here so we sipped water with our breakfast. I absolutely love that Alexa's serves half portion breakfast meals. Since my wife and I can never agree on a breakfast meal to share, the half portion meal suited us perfectly. My wife built her own half Scramble for $10 + $1 for avocado. She chose an English muffin as her bread choice. I ordered the half Southwestern Scramble for $10: diced chicken breast, red onions, green peppers, cheddar cheese, salsa and sour cream. I chose the Onion-Dill bread as my choice. My breakfast was savory and the perfect size. Our server was friendly and efficient. So I was invited to attend an event at work where Alexa's catered. They did an amazing job. Not only was the catering staff I talked with briefly professional and friendly, she did a stellar presentation with the catering. See the photos. The food was really great. The BBQ pork sliders I would highly recommend. The bacon wrapped brie was also super good, along with the variety of cheeses and grapes. Their meatballs are a sure winner, too. read more

I stopped in during the brunch rush for a to-go order. The service was great, the wait was fairly short, and overall seemed like a nice cafe. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant sandwich, side of potatoes, and a brownie. THE BROWNIE WAS ABSOLUTELY DIVINE - possibly the best brownie I've ever had. It was heavy and dense and delicious. The other food, however, was lacking. The croissant was not pillowy or fresh or buttery and there wasn't much flavor to the sandwich. The potatoes - you know when oil is so old and dirty you can smell it from a ways away? That is what the potatoes were - it stunk up the car. They tasted okay and the seasoning was nice, but the oil was overpowering. I know it was during the rush and they probably don't have much time to clean the grill, but it was not appetizing. I have always loved going to Alexa's for breakfast so assumed lunch would be the same. Totally wrong. My first mistake was being seated in Jess's section. I ordered the French dip but only took 3 bites because the roast beef tasted like it should have been thrown out 2 day's earlier. Jess never came back to our table to ask how everything was (I should have let him know earlier) until we were ready to leave. He asked if I was done, and he could see basically the entire sandwich was still there. I let him know how bad the roast beef was and he responded by taking my plate and walking away. Zero acknowledgement of what I just said. I think Jess should no longer wait tables and maybe stick to cleaning them. read more

We knew this was going to be a good place when we got there. The staff did a great job taking care of us (Sarah at the time) and the Ambiance was great. While many places have had a hard time with COVID, Bothell has shut down Main Street so the resultants can dine outside in the streets and it makes it even more enjoyable than sitting inside. The main dishes were good but we all agreed that our favorite was the tomato soup that we started with. It was creepy and a bit chunky with the tomato's seeming very fresh. I am somewhat bemused but not fully satisfied. I thought the young staff did an acceptable job of waiting and serving, however I was not blown away. I thought a casual neighborhood place like this ought to feel real and not a forced smile plastered on every staff members face. I like the good energy but lack of commitment to wonder is noticeable. The coffee is over priced as I had to pay for a coffee drink made with drip coffee as well as a regular cup of coffee. Most places would have rolled that into one price! I like the Vegan options for my lactose intolerant friends, however they do not have any non-dairy cheese. I wanted to order the vegie omelet with non-dairy cheese but I got it with no cheese instead. I am not familiar with the brands of vegan "meat" offered here so I skipped it because I am very picky about what is in my meatless choices. The vegetables and potatoes that came on my plate were both under cooked as well as somewhat unripe. I was not very happy and only ate a few bites of the potatoes. They were crunchy somewhat raw. The vegies are not ripe all the way and were also crunchy. Perhaps the "slightly cooked" vegies are a style choice here but I think that they need to get better quality stuff too. I thought the eggs were OK but also not the best quality IMO. Dairy free is vegan and not an option. Serving size was on the small size but I thought more normal to what I might make at home. no leftovers? Price is higher for one person $33 before tip $$-$$$ read more

They have a cool outdoor covered eating area too, but we opted for indoor. There's a market place inside that has local artist and food wares. Tables are neatly spaced apart; it's the first place I've dined in where I actually felt the distance rules were being followed. I got the veggie scramble which I liked BUT the veggies really needed to be cooked down more and I should have asked for no olives (didn't notice that reading the menu). Pretty standard American breakfast. While the food I wouldn't rave too much about the service was quick and very friendly. The restaurant was packed on a Saturday around 10:30am but there wasn't too long of a wait as patrons didn't linger too long and tables were taken care of promptly. They have a very good drip coffee which servers attentively refill your cup and even top you off constantly to ensure the cup is warm. I think my favorite part of the meal was actually the toast. It was soft and at the same time perfectly toasted. The scrambles were ok and I was a little disappointed my burrito was more like a taco. Maybe next time I will have to try the French toast if they use that great bread for it. read more

Alexa's catered our wedding on August 30th, 2024 at Maroni Meadows in Snohomish and we couldn't be more pleased with our decision to book with them. Starting with the food, all of it was absolutely wonderful and we received tons of compliments from our guests throughout the night about how delicious dinner was. They have an extensive catering menu with lots of dishes to choose from, so I encourage future couples to take advantage of their monthly open houses where you can go to their cafe and try a selection of some of their most popular dishes. Even though we already had a pretty good idea of what we wanted to serve, it was helpful to narrow down our choices. Alexa's service was also spectacular. We opted for a buffet meal where guests served themselves, but their staff cleared out people's dishes as they finished eating, kept the water carafes on the tables filled, and in general were just kind and friendly folks. After dinner, they handled the clean up with ease. Alexa's was also wonderful at handling all the details leading up to the big day, including ordering our rental items through CORT (linens, dishware, glassware, silverware, etc.). They answered all our questions and made the changes we requested quickly and efficiently. At the meeting we had with them one month out from the event, they asked us everything they needed to make sure we were on the same page so that the event would go smoothly. In short, they were diligent and professional every step of the way and were committed to making our wedding a success! I would absolutely recommend Alexa's catering to any future couples, especially if anyone reading this is booking a wedding at Maroni Meadows. (Maroni doesn't have an on-site kitchen of any kind, so it can be challenging to find a caterer who can make that work. Alexa's has catered with Maroni many times so it was a complete relief to our wedding planning stress knowing that they were familiar with the venue's limitations). Driven by here many times but never stopped because it looked tiny, boring, and a little run down from the outside. Wow! What a pleasant surprise. Don't let the outside fool you. This is a large and beautiful space inside. Clean, bright, open, and inviting. Love the decor and style--kind of old town square cafe meets modern. The menu offers some intriguing choices, and I'm going to have to return to try more of them. I chose the eggs benedict today. Yum! Perfectly done poached eggs. House made hollandaise sauce, with a nice lemon zing. Good balance and beautifully plated. The grilled red potatoes side were good on their own, and they provided a great and tasty way to sop up the extra hollandaise and yolks. Glad I decided to stop in for breakfast today (despite the [temporary] construction war zone that downtown Bothell is currently). Will definitely return. read more
