Their pricing is fair and reasonable, as I don't have to sweat bullets when I need to go for my service and they won't try to repair non-essential issues. Alexander would take time to explain what was wrong and answer any questions that I had. Moreover, when the pump failed a second time within two months, he decided to fixed at no additional cost. Super great service! My car was making a burning plastic smell that I couldn't figure out the source of and I dropped it off at Alexander's and asked them to take a look. They got back to me the next day and let me know that a plastic bag had melted onto my muffler. They scraped the plastic off and inspected the rest of my car for me, letting me know about a few issues I could take care of but declined to, since my current vehicle is pretty low in value. When I picked it up, they sanitized my key right in front of me and didn't even charge me for a diagnostic! I took my car to Alexander's recently in anticipation of an upcoming move to Denver (and because my check engine light had come on) and had what I can honestly say was the best auto repair experience I've ever had! I messaged Alexander's Auto Repair via Yelp on a Sunday afternoon and even though they were closed, Oscar responded within the hour. I outlined what I was looking to have done and we scheduled a time for me to drop my car off the following Thursday afternoon. Upon drop-off, Oscar confirmed my requests and promptly got me a ride home. Oscar made a point to keep in touch with me during the entire process and provided a clear, concise estimate. I initially had concerns due to the amount of work my car needed but together, we prioritized the repairs to ensure my road-trip to Denver was as safe as possible even with my limited budget. I picked my car up yesterday and it feels like a whole new car. Yes, I had quite a bit of work done (i.e. new clutch, new radiator/cooling system, tuneup, etc.) but I absolutely couldn't be happier with the results. So this is a wee bit overdue but I found this place when I moved the the Arcadia and for the past 2 years, I've only needed oil changes, which has been great (great price and always get me in with little notice btw). We took my husbands nissan sentra in because it was getting poor gas mileage. They did a tuneup and replaced the intake tube and resinator assembly. They accidently left the dipstick out and we drove the car 45 miles, got home and realized there was oil everywhere. Of course my husband freaked out but we messaged them on google and the mechanic that worked on the car responded within minutes and remembered leaving it out. He drove 40 miles this morning (sunday) to put the dipstick back in and was very apologetic. He degreased the engine compartment, offered to fix a bracket on his fender and a free oil change and on top of that a 25.00 gift card to Olive Garden! I set an appointment to bring my vehicle to Alexander's for a wheel alignment and battery change which seemed simple enough. Upon arrival I spoke with Alexander, he had no idea I had an appointment. I explained to him for the 2nd time that I needed a wheel alignment and a battery change. He broke down the cost, but never offered to check the battery to see if it just needed a charge. I walked him out to my car and explained in great detail how my vehicle had a anti-theft starter and physically showed Alexander how to start the vehicle. He verified he knew how to start the vehicle because he was "a professional". An hour later I received a phone call from Alexander stating that he could not start my car after installing a new battery. I politely reminded Alexander about the anti-theft starter, but he said the starter was bad and that would cost only 399.99. I assured him that I didn't need a starter and I felt like I was being screwed. He got very defensive over the phone and finally told me to come pick up the car that he will not work on it. Alexander then hung up on me. I tried calling him back to ask what the issue was, but he yelled that he was putting my old battery back in the car and to come pick it up, again hung up on me. I took off work to go and pick up my car which had no work done. When I got to the shop, Alexander didn't even look or talk to me, threw my keys on the counter and walked away. I went to my car expecting the worst and my car started perfectly, just like it did when I dropped it off. I checked under the hood to see if anything was touched. Low and behold not a single thing had been touched. He didn't install a new anything. I could still see the grime and dirt on the nuts of the battery. I assume Alexander did not listen to a word I said about the anti-theft device and then tried to sell me parts that were not needed. I drove out of there and got the work done at Meineke, minus the battery because they were able to check it and determine it just needed charging. I will never return to Alexander's auto. I tried to register a complaint with the BBB but they are not a registered business. The treatment I received at Alexander's was the worst service I have ever experienced from a business and very, very far from professional. read more

I've taken both of my vehicles to Alexander's (now A&J) for at least 5 years. And I've always had excellent service and thought the price was fair. What can you say about a car repair shop? They charge you a fair price, fix the issue, and don't screw anything else up. Thumbs up. But there is one thing about these guys that stands out to me. I was referred to A&J's by a good friend who, by her own admission, is a merciless consumer. She's great at knowing where she can get the most for her money and when she finds those places she's very loyal. Since I've been taking vehicles to Alex I've also referred a handful of people there. At the time I went to them because they were convenient. They do a decent job but they are very overpriced. We have nothing but praises for Alexander's Auto Repair. They have excellent customer service, but most of all INTEGRITY. We are parents of a daughter who attends college in Phoenix. We live in California and had no idea which auto repair shop to take her car to. She was having car problems with her Kia Forte. Car would not start and then she would charge it and would start up again for a while but then car would die. We told her to bring it the closest shop to her school, which was Pep Boys. They checked out her car and immediately told her it was a $550 alternator job. We told her to leave the place and we would find an auto repair shop on Yelp. That's when we decided on Alexander's based on the 5-star customer reviews. She brought her car in, was taken care of immediately, and technician asked her who said she needed a new alternator. She told them the story and he said she didn't need an alternator. The cap on the battery just had to be fixed. He fixed it and told her to go on her way. That is customer service at it's best. These people are trustworthy and won't take advantage and try to take your money. This will definitely be our auto repair shop for her car. He informed us of the process of a pre-purchase inspection. He was very straight forward and honest. Alexander and Oscar both let us know everything that was going on with the vehicle, regardless of its importance. If something was a serious and immediate problem, they let us know. If something was able to be held off but still apparent, they let us know. We really appreciated their honesty even after the owner of the car blamed them for some of the car's problems. I needed a new window regulator and expected to have to wait a week for the part/repair (like I had to last year when I brought my car to the dealership for the same problem on a different window), but my car was fully repaired in less than 8 hours. Plus, Oscar let me know about a few other issues he found (surprise, that's what was making that creaking noise that was getting harder and harder to ignore!) and recommended different timelines for repairs.
