Just got my car back from Andy and he was nothing short of amazing. Took my 2006 Honda Civic in because the ac wasn't working properly. A few hours later he called up and explained his troubleshooting steps and how he resolved the issue, which was awesome! Cost of the repair was fantastic and he even took the time to teach and show me that I had a power steering pump leak that would eventually need to be addressed. The best part is, he was totally honest and didn't pressure me with false urgency like other repairs shops would have. No pressure, honesty, and excellent service. What more could you ask for? I have been driving for 50 years so I have dealt with a lot of auto shops and this was just about the nicest experience I have had. Andy, the owner / manager is very helpful and did my tire repair right away. He asked for a very low fee which I thought was just too low so I added a substantial tip in appreciation of his excellent service and helpfulness. I also found that if I had come here for the oil change I had done a week earlier I would have saved $25. Next oil change and any other work I need, I will be back here. I've been going in to this place ever since Andy, the present owner, took over. I was getting an alignment next door and needed an oil change so they recommended him. His prices are fair, they know what they're doing and he is completely honest! For the first few months I was heading in to do routine oil changes on my personal car as well as one of my company vehicles. The service is always prompt. Since then I have had some more extensive work done on my Lexus (truck tires, Lexus tire rods replaced) outside of just the oil changes. The best thing I could say is that I brought my car in one time when the engine light came on. Andy came out to greet me and right away hooked up the diagnostic thing (I'm a car idiot). It came back and said I have a leak somewhere in my system. To me that sounded bad and had a $1,000+ scary thoughts in my head. He said it is one of 2 things. Either there is a hose leaking somewhere which could be a tiny hole and you can imagine the fun that would be to find and fix (and then pay for), or he said it could just be that the gas cap was not sealing properly anymore. He recommended that before anything else I go around the corner to the auto parts store and buy a new gas cap for $12 and see if that works. he reset the computer to turn the check engine light off and away I went to get the cap. Thankfully that was exactly what the problem was! He could have been like a lot of guys out there and tried screwing me but he is honest and understands that a long term relationship is worth way more than one job! If you need a shop to do some work give him a try and you will not be disappointed! read more

My boyfriend and I just moved here from Los Angeles. I had some rattling or metal grinding noises when I would accelerate my Subaru. If I could leave more than 5 stars I would. I have had some serious issues with mechanics in the past, but Andy is fantastic. Simple, straight forward, honest, and clean. He was incredibly honest and informative about what he was doing and the price is definitely resonable, but also worth it for the quality work. He noticed my tires were low and filled them and even filled up my coolant which was almost empty even though I came in for a completely unrelated issue. He gave me some general advice and just clearly knows what he's doing. I found this place though Yelp myself and highly recommend it. He also had my car for less than 3 hours from drop off to pick up. Very efficient and didn't overcharge for labor. This is definitely my new shop. read more

For starters, I would like to say that I don't trust auto mechanics under most circumstances. From my experience, they have been one class of people that have taken advantage of me more than any other. Andy and 29th Street Auto, however, are an exception. Andy will give to you straight, and perform the service in a fair and professional manner. I even asked why he doesn't partake in the usual mechanic business model of lying to make a quick buck, and he said that he "is in this business for the long haul. I would rather be honest and have people referring their friends to my business for long periods, than trying to make a quick buck for the short-term."
