Been using Jack's for years on my personal and business vehicles. They've never been anything but friendly and their work is top notch. My wife was told by the Volvo dealer that her nearly new car needed a 4 wheel alignment to the tune of $225.00. I took it to Jack's and they showed me that the alignment was fine and there was nothing to adjust and there was no charge. That's honesty. They could have fiddled with it and charged me and I would have been none the wiser. On top of that, if they did have to do a 4 wheel alignment, the cost would only have been $125.00. I'm telling everyone I know. Honesty like that is unheard of in this day and age. read more

Been going to Jack's since 1978 and have recommended them to anyone that would listen. However my last three visits have left a lot to be desired mostly due to the arrogant young man that appears to be in charge. The only reason I endured the last 3 visits was due to the old guy that does most of the work as he is obvioiusly an experienced mechanic. The only way for Jack's to get better is for the young guys to watch and/or help the old guy, rather than looking at their phones. read more

Made appointment to have the I beams bent on my 1966 F100 after i lowered it. With 600+ hp to tire one needs to be sure it drives straight! It was quite obvious the alignment tech had done this many times in the past. Within 30 min he had both sides done. A bit more $$ than i had hoped but it was worth it in the end. Truck drives fantastic now. For sure my go to alignment place to have it done right the first time with zero hassle. The final piece to puzzle. Proper alignment. read more

Been using jacks for years. They always did me well. However they've changed since I was last there. Called a week in advance to get an appointment. Showed up on time to find a young kid with his feet up on the desk. Don't care, whatever. Told them I was waiting. After walking around nearby I come back 1.5 hours later thinking surely they're done, to find my truck parked in the same spot. I give the guy a professional earful and he has his tech jump in it right away and pull it in. 10 minutes later they call me to come talk to the tech. The older man proceeds to tell me that my truck I've known since new was in a big wreck (nope not even a fender bender) and shows me why. To which I respond nope. The bumper is from a newer body style which is why all the holes don't line up. He just stares at me then proceeds to tell me how bad the lift kit was and (which it wasn't, I've had these lifts installed in 3 prior trucks with zero issues / and they are found readily online and locally) how the trac bar was adjusted wrong and how this and that were all wrong. To which I stared back at him and blinked, responding with Yeah dude, all the adjustments are off... that's why I brought it to you! Then he gets on a high horse and tells me he can't center the steering wheel because it will lose the turning radius in one direction because the steering gear had spun internally. I said nope it didn't. The truck was just fine before the lift and now it just needed adjusted back. He tells me he's been doing this for years and won't touch it due to safety concerns. LOL. I've been in the automotive business professionally all my life from wrenching to management and this is exactly why we don't let technicians speak with customers. This guy took one look at this truck. Built a complete scenario in his head assumed the worst and decided he was too good to work on my truck. He ultimately refused to work on it. Discussed and fuming a took it home after they WASTED 2 hours of my time on one of my rare days off. Went on YouTube, searched how to center steering wheel on f250. Grabbed some of my tools and I centered it with 3 little turns of my drag link and it was like new again. Thanks Jacks for wasting my time but saving my money. I'll never be back read more

Prices were reasonable. Cant complain about thr simple allignment job. BUt -- I sure didnt appreciate their underqualified tech taking it upon himself to give us terrible advice! Smh. Seriously, if i didnt know better and listened to him i'd blow out yy transmission and my tires!! IE: we have LT (E range) tires on our 1500. He tried to tell me we "HAVE TO FILL THEM TO THEIR MAX PSI OF 80!".... Dude has no clue they're completely different than P (passenger) rated tires. *Commercial* LT tires are inflated to pressures based upon thir load per axle weight, otherwise you're going to have a rough ride and/or lower their durabilty and safety. There are scientific load/pressure charts you go by to dial in just the right air pressure for the best tire performance. Only a fool would max out the pressure on their LT tires all the time regardless of load and needlessly shorten their lifespan and possibly jeoprodize your safety. Also, we are hauling a camper 24/7. When the tech wanted to start our truck and drive it around thr block, I told him to engage the TOW/HAUL (our standard practice with the camper on). He argues with me saying we "SHOULD ONLY EVER USE IT GOING UP A HILL AND NOT FOR ANY OTHER REASON!"..... What kind of nonsense is this? The purpose of the TOW/HAUL is to rev your engine to higher RPMs before the transmission drops into the next gear (mostly felt in the first 2 gears), this protects the tranny when you're stressing the vehicle when *towing or hauling* heavy weight, and is absolutely essential to have on all the time if you've got a heavy camper on your 1/2 ton. If I "only used it on hills" like this guy was adamantly telling me, I'd wear out my transmission - a very costly disaster. So folks, just get your low-tech allignment done here and dont listen to a gosh darn thing these guys tell you... I hate it when poor mechanics give awful car advice to un-informed motorists and it costs them dearly... Do your own research or listen to a smart, experienced mechanic that you trust. read more

After the last alignment shop made my lifted 4runner drive even worse, Jack's was able to get it done right in about 45 minutes! Joel was able to set my SPC UCAs to the perfect caster/camber and fixed the pull and tightness in the steering. I've never been to a shop where they test drive it 2-3 times to make sure it drives perfect - not just going off computer specs. Needless to say, I'll be back and will recommend this old school shop to anyone. read more

Was recommended here from a tundra group on Facebook. Many people had stated they drive from other cities just to come here so figured I would try it out. Was a 55 min drive from me one way. Can easily say it was 110% worth the drive. Guys absolutely knocked it out of the park. Truck feels better after these guys then any major place I have ever been to. Especially since I run aftermarket uca's and suspension. Super nice, got me in right away, and had only enough time to eat lunch down the street before it was ready. Took my truck in today. Been pulling to the right for about forever. Or at least the last couple years. Went here based on Yelp reviews. Glad I did. Guy went out, put my truck on the rack. About 5 minutes later came in and said the tires were gonna make it wonky, since they weren't worn correctly. I told him they were used tires, since I'm poor. He said he could make it drive straight, based on the tires, or make it the way it's supposed to be, and the tires would make it pull anyway, until I get a good, matched set. I told him to make it correct, and I'd get the tires when I could. He goes back out, then about 10 minutes later comes back in and tell me the entire problem is tires. Says I might need a ball joint within a year, but everything else looks just fine. Says "No charge. Keys are in it". Thanks, Jack's, for the free inspection! This business doesn't put care, soul, and heart into their work. I had to come back within 10 minutes after alignment was done. My steering wheel was still off center (not centered). After I came back they fixed it without even saying Sorry. This is not type of people I want to do business with. I don't recommend this business. Update* year and a half later I have just got an alignment done again and it seems the job was done properly except my steering wheel was off centered again and upon returning to the shop to have them adjust it; however, without a single word or discussion the owner silently returned my money back and said in my face "go find someone who'll make you happy"... The receptionist was very kind on the phone and we immediately scheduled an appointment. Joel took care of my car, finished it in roughly in 15 minutes. He also reminded me of two issues I had with my car which I was aware of thanks to my mechanic. These are just not things I wanted to deal with right now. The best part is he wasn't pushy at all to get them done asap. The wheel is squared now and I didn't notice any problem getting back to Tempe from their shop. I called for an appointment and was able to get one that day. The office was clean, masks required due to Covid and staff was friendly and professional. Didn't have a very good experience. I had my wife drop my Cummins off to get an alignment the steering wheel was way off after i did a lift wheels and tires. They told her that the alignment was perfectly fine and it is just the roads. Sooo all of the roads in all of Arizona are slanted so much that when i put my steering wheel straight it goes to oncoming traffic? Everyone's car or truck does that? Makes no sense so i called and the guy who answered said the same thing! Clearly these guys don't know what they are talking about or doing, a couple days later i took my truck to fagerbergs in casa grande Arizona great group of people! They said my alignment wasn't off but the steering wheel was. So after all of that jacks couldn't figure that out or bother to fix it. I would not recommend this place. read more

You might notice I have more than one check in here. I came in with a very slight pull to the right. Left with a ver slight pull to the left and the guy telling me that my car might ride differently because he set it up for tire wear, not performance like the factory. WHAT? They ended up fixing the pull but since there isn't a computer in the place and they didn't seem to fond of seeing me again I felt uncomfortable asking them to put it to factory settings. Now my car doesn't handle as well (honestly, there is a noticable difference) and I am force to go to another shop to get me back to factory specs. Bummer. I must say that I won't be going to a place again that doesn't have modern equipement. read more

Stopped in here to inquire about an alignment based on reviews from Yelp. Sadly, things didn't go so well. I pulled up, walked into the office and was immediately told that it's impossible to perform an alignment on my vehicle. It's 2005 Mercedes, certainly not anywhere close to "new" and it was dismissed out of hat without even a peek or an inquiry as to the model and year of the vehicle. I was told it was impossible for them to do anything because Mercedes didn't build them to get alignments. There are no camber adjustments or toe in or anything they can do. Problem is, I'm well aware that isn't true and it's quite easy to do the necessary work on a W211 model, I guess I must have looked stupid or something. The worst part, it wasn't even a polite "sorry we can't help you". The guy behind the counter was in an aggressive stance and had a super nasty attitude about it. Didn't think to catch the name on the patch. I could have easily argued the point and told the guy how and where he was wrong, but I know when I'm not wanted so I quietly excused myself and went on my way. Maybe he just hates Mercedes owners? I don't really know, either way, disappointing after so many high marks given here. read more

About six months ago, my Dad told me I needed to have my wheels aligned. I kept putting it off, but last week I decided I just needed to get it done. I searched Yelp, of course, and came across a few reviews for places near what would be my new office. I finally settled on Jack's Auto Alignment & Brakes, called on Friday, and made an appointment to drop off the car today at noon. A friend/co-worker followed me out to the shop, and when I get there, I spoke with Ken, the man who made my appointment. He said the car would be ready by the end of the day and he would be happy to call before they started work if I so desired. I told him to do whatever it needed and to call when it was ready to picked up. I asked him if he needed payment before I left, and he said no - he wouldn't charge me for work he didn't yet know needed to be done. Excellent! Before I left, I asked him for a favor. I had gone to get my emissions tested over the weekend, but because the emissions sensor thing under the steering column (that's a VERY technical term) had come unplugged, they couldn't do the test. They said I could do it myself, but I couldn't figure out where the thing plugged in. I asked Ken if he could figure it out, and thankfully, he was able to! He didn't charge me to do this, as some places may have. Very cool of him. Another cool thing: One of the guys noticed my friend's tires looked a little low. He had her pull the car to the bay and filled them up for her. It's those little extra touches that make a good place great. Shortly after I returned to the office after dropped off the car, I had a message from Ken telling me the car was done. They finished in less than an hour! I called back and spoke with Ken and he told me only the front wheels needed to be aligned and told me I needed to replace the front tires sooner rather than later. When I went to pick up the car, I realized I'd forgotten my debit card and ID at home. Thankfully, I have my card number memorized and Ken was able to run it manually. Again, very cool of him. Before I left, he told me to have the alignment checked once a year and reminded me about the front tires. There's no doubt in my mind I'll take my car to this place when I need to have my brakes replaced or my wheels aligned. I'm a huge supporter of locally owned and operated shops, and I'm thrilled to add this one to my list and recommend them to anyone who needs their services! read more
