I went with her to make sure she was getting a quality tire. Woody's had a couple tires to choose from. I checked the manufacturing date on what looked like the the better of the two tires. It was only 7 months old! They mounted it, repaired a small leak, mounted it again, verified no other leaks, balanced it and put it back on the car in less that 15 minutes. For less that a third ($35) of what she paid new for each of the other three coincidentally matching tires, she left a happy person. That was now 4000 miles ago and the tire had been great.

I helped her to research where would be the best place to take her SUV to be checked. 19th Avenue Garage kept coming up on here and on Google. Needless to say, these gentlemen are wonderful! So very kind and understanding as they knew she was going through a difficult time. They did a thorough check of her car. She had previously been told she had a transmission leak. These gentlemen did not find it. The "Check Engine" light, fortunately, was related to her tires. The batteries were old. There was some seepage from the brakes, but it was minimal. As for the brakes, they were still in good shape, but will eventually need attention. When she asked how much she owed them for their time, they told us "Zero". No charge! They understood she was going through a difficult time with her husband being in the hospital these past two months and assured her that her vehicle was safe to drive. They did invite her to return in six months for her next oil change and they would check her brakes again. Needless to say, I am so impressed with the kindness these gentlemen showed my neighbor, and that they could have charged her for their time as they did a thorough check of her SUV, but they did not. I went to discount tires First and was given a quote of $109 to replace 1 tire! I felt that was extremely pricey and told them no thank you. I visited a second location in the of Guadalupe and they did not have my tire. So I was very glad when I arrived at the L&J tire shop and was immediately greeted by two gentlemen who assisted in replacing both my front tire on my Saturn. The type of tire my uses is not a common model so it was bothersome to worry about finding a place to replace them. This place again immediately new their inventory and saw the type of tire I needed and said "Yup, we have it" and went to my trunk and pulled out my old shredded tire. I was still befuddled by my tire blowout and asked the repairman what happened. He was able to explain to me how this happened without hesitation. The second repairman proved me more education on what I need to look for in my tires when replacing them and while driving. He also mentioned the need for replacing my other front tire which I didn't come to have replace. I immediately requested the quote on replacing both front tires and he responded that it shouldn't be anymore than sixty for two used tires. I agreed and he go to work quickly on replacing that left front tire while the other one was already being worked on. I was elated when hearing the price. This was the best experience so far, for me, when it comes to mechanical repairs. This is why I wrote about it. It was fast, friendly, and educational.
