Concrete removed.

The team did a great job for removing concrete, came on time, clean job and had them do some extra things as well. Pricing was competitive as well. He was professional honest and would hire again!

You are a pathological liar!
Jessica S.

Beware...this guy absolutely took advantage of my kindness and completed a job we did not agree upon. Additionally, I felt something was off and I checked his license..suspended. When I asked him, he gave me additional lies. ZERO stars if I could. Another lie but here's the screenshot of you NOT having your license. A**!!

This person Alex goes by Manny also. At first I gave them a five star but truth be told, it was a horrible job. It just kept gnawing at me and I want people to know to trust Yelp reviews. He did my DG on my landscape. When he started the job, he didn't treat the grass so it can die. He said it was dead enough only because I let the grass dry up for a couple of weeks so needless to say, a few days after the work was completed, spurts of grass started sprouting all over the place. It's so embarrassing. I have to go out there everyday and pull out the sprouts of grass. I kept asking him was he sure he wasn't supposed to treat the grass so it can dry up significantly and he said no when all other people that came to give me an estimate told me what they do but I had already gave Manny the job because he gave me a better price. I thought maybe he has his own technique. Then I have a little tree in the front and he said he'd trim it for $250. The tree looked the same and after I paid the last payment, he said, "not even a tip." I didn't know we were tipping now. I felt very offended when I had already shelled out what I did. Also, he charged me $800 for what was supposed to be 8 rocks and he only brought 7 and weren't even the size he said he'd get. It's too bad that a lot of work is done this way and gives a bad look and name to all the others. It's one thing after another. If I would have known, I would have bought and picked up my own rocks. Also, the black material that is laid before the DG was showing in some areas right after. I would not recommend this person. You definitely get what you paid for almost every time. Joe I have to all someone else to take repair what he did. SMH

I needed to have my old BBQ island removed. The island was a built-in that required an extensive amount of demolition to remove, while preserving the existing gas and electrical and adjacent areas. Manny, of Alex Concrete, responded promptly and came out on a Sunday morning to inspect the area and give me an estimate. I explained what needed to be done and he explained the process and associated costs. His price was very fair so we went this them The day of the job, Manny showed up at the scheduled time and finished the demolition job that same day and hauled away the debris and cleaned the site. We are pleased with their work and recommend them highly for your demolition needs. They do great work and Manny was a pleasure to work with.

Looking for a good landscape company in Los Angeles is tough since there are so many options and…read moreyou never know the quality you are going to get. If you are browsing Yelp right now to look for a landscaper, you can stop your search since Flores Artscape is incredible. I was looking to redo my backyard since it was a little outdated and my old deck was starting to fall apart. Not only did Flores call me back right away, but they also quickly scheduled a consultation appointment and did a thorough walkthrough to show me their recommendations and ideas. I went with everything they suggested and I couldn't be happier. The finished product (new pavers, turf, plants, lighting, etc.) looks amazing. It feels like I have a high-end yard that matches my recently remodeled house. And the best part: their pricing is very competitive! I didn't pay an exorbitant amount and still feel like my new backyard looks expensive. Flores finished the job in only a couple weeks and the work team was at my house every day. I am so, so happy with the results and can't wait until they can come back and redo my front yard next. Hire this company immediately if you're looking for a landscape job. You will be very pleased.

I reached out to Flores Artscape on yelp and received a call back almost immediately and was able to schedule an estimate/consultation for the next day. Jason swung by at the agreed upon time (he even texted me his ETA) and as we walked through the job site, he listened to me describe my vision and immediately understood the look I was going for. He offered suggestions without being pushy and helped me visualize the potential of my project. Jason provided his estimate the following day as promised. He was proactive in looking for ways we could descope my project to fit within my budget. He made himself available to discuss modifications over the phone, and responded to my texts and emails promptly. I ultimately went an different direction with my hardscaping, but would consider Flores Artscape for any future full-service landscaping company in a heartbeat. I highly recommend them!

My wife and I recently chose Joel to complete a long overdue landscaping project for our front and…read moreback yard and we are beyond happy with the result. Our project consisted of pouring 2 concrete slabs (1 along the side of the house and a second in the backyard), planting a boarder trim, and installing sprinkler systems in our back and front yard. Joel and crew completed all parts of this project with attention to detail and communicated effectively throughout. First and foremost, I have to give a huge shout out to the team lead managing the concrete part of our project. His attention to detail in recommending ideal drain setups in the sections where water had pooled in the past are exactly why we went Joel - we want to do things right the first time. After chatting with Joel, we installed the recommended drains, preventing a potentially expensive fix down the road. The rest of the project was completed with professionalism and Joel was great in communicating and working with our needs. Our one constructive feedback is that we did not receive a mock-up of the project before work was underway. We had a few last minute changes (the width of the trim around the backyard and the size of the mulch area in the front yard), but Joel & team communicated effectively and worked with us to make sure our needs were taken care of. All in all, we are so happy with our completed project. The level of professionalism, attention to detail, and our new back/front yard makes us confident that we made the correct choice in choosing Joel for our project. Thank you!

BRING ON THE SUPER EL NINO!…read more Joel and Sons recently completed a much overdue project at our home. For years, our outside drains were clogged, and I found myself setting up pumps during the storms to get the pools of water away from our home. Every year, I would tell myself that I would get the drains cleared. Before the rains came this past winter, I hired a company to hydro jet the pipes. They tried to clear the drains, but because they were so clogged, their equipment failed. Again, I was setting up the pumps during the rain storm. So, I researched and found Joel and Sons. I met Joel and he examined our front/back yards. He gave an excellent and fair estimate that would fix the drainage problems. Throughought the entire project, Joel sent videos of the work being performed. He and the crew went above and beyond to make sure we wouldn't have any future issues. I am so impressed by Joel and Sons, and I will call them again for future projects. More importantly, I will make referrals to my family and friends.

We ABSOLUTELY LOVE our raised patio that Monroe Masonry built for us!!! It turned out so well and…read moreworking with Eddie and his team was such a positive experience that even though it was almost a year ago they did the work, I just had to share. We got other bids on the project but none compared to the honest, straightforward communication we got with Eddie. We benefitted from his years of experience but also from his long-held contacts in the field. During the building process things came up like needing the footings for the posts of a pergola another contractor was going to build for us on top of the patio but he was out of the country at the time. Not a problem. Eddie had worked with him on previous projects and was able to get the footings and install them for us. Then we needed to make decisions regarding any electrical we wanted on and around the patio which needed to be encased in tubing with all the other underlayment and Eddie's electrician buddy came right away to help us so that our project didn't get delayed. We didn't work with an architect on this project. It was just me laying down a garden hose to visualize what a patio would look like and going over it with my husband. Getting the elevations right was tricky since we didn't want a railing to obstruct our view of the garden. Eddie was so helpful with this but he also has the smartest right-hand-man, I think his name is Manuel, who saved the day for me. I wanted to extend the patio out a certain way and in telling him what I envisioned he improved the design on the spot! He eliminated one of the steps transforming the design making it more seamless and elegant. A small thing and yet it was huge in the scope of things. Don't hesitate to have Monroe Masonry do your job. Your only problem might be that he'll be too booked with work when you call.

Except for the LIEN we got from the concrete pump company he used. This was after the fact of paying Edwin. It was unnecessary stress on my elderly family members. I had to get mad at Edwin for not paying his subcontractor which then affect us and our property. I would suggest to make sure he has current insurances and that all his sub contractors are paid before your final payment to him. So maybe get their phone numbers to verify first? What a terrible experience. The work was decent and is a 5 star. But the business ethic of getting his people paid and affect people's title of their property. Not ok! Zero stars for that. I don't want to hurt his business by giving just one star so I will give 3 of 5. UPDATED. REVIEW. Maybe I should lower the stars though because Edwin is saying he doesn't know anything about this which is now a bold face total lie and I'm gonna post photos of our text messages of him saying he's gonna clear it all up. Edwin, you should've just said yes you screwed up instead of trying to cover up your light now you should get less stars. Reply No, the text chain you are in that. Don't try to deny it because I can prove it if I open it up it will show your name Edwin. You'd be better off saying yeah you screwed up you're a human you're not perfect and just admit to it but now the people will see you're not honest and if you get the photo taken down since it's a real photo and a real text chain, I'm sure I can get it back up You are the contractor who holds the license who signed the project contract, who agreed to make sure everything runs smoothly and you're the one who carries supposedly Insurance for that You should actually be sued for the situation because you cause two elderly people major stress and compromise their title to the property. Shame on you.

I was looking to install pavers over ~1500 sq feet in my back and side yard, with planting areas and an artificial turf corner for my dogs to do their business. Max immediately took note of the drainage issues that I had on my property and came up with a very technically sound plan of installing a sump pump and draining the water onto the street. I was fearful of the cost as it sounded like a lot of labor involved (and it was!), but I was pleasantly surprised that his quote was in-line with the other quotes I received that did not have a drainage plan. After a couple of very professional and kind email exchanges back and forth, we were able to negotiate a final price that I was happy with without compromising the look I was going for. 2) Work phase - Max estimated that the work would take 2 weeks, and they completed it in 1.5 weeks. What a crew he had! They were amazingly efficient and professional. They had to manually haul away 4 full containers of dirt to get my property at the right drainage levels. Max came every day to check on progress, and his onsite foreman was there the entire time to make sure everything went smoothly and it did! I was so impressed with the amount of coordination the team had. The last thing to be done was to install the tiles that I bought for the stair risers. They ended up being a bit too large and each one had to be cut down to size. It was very labor intensive, but Max was okay with it because his motto during the entire time was "I want you to be completely happy with the result". And I totally was. My yard is gorgeous with the "Spanish courtyard" feel that I was going for! 3) The aftermath - We had a full day of rain this past week in our area and it was a great way to see how the drainage worked. We used to have puddles form all over our property after a rainy day (mosquito heaven!), but now my entire yard properly drains out to the street. No more puddles. No more overflow water rushing into my back neighbor's yard. It was perfect. I am looking forward to working with Titan Pavers again once it's time for me to repave my driveway. I recommend them 100%!
