Finished step up by foundation
Doug B.

Our job was not a big one but Dibara did first class work. The concrete area in front of our house had tilted a bit down towards the house so rainwater would run to the foundation. We had Dibara put in 3 features to help keep water away, the first was a step up to the foundation, the second was a drain set in the concrete around our stairs where the water pooled (which drained away toward the lower steps) and finally a curb on our driveway to keep water from draining off towards the house. The work was exactly what we asked for and done to a high quality standard. I can't say enough good things about them and would work with them for any concrete needs.

Completed work on damaged section

DiBara Masonry repaired my brick and wood fence that was badly damaged when a car slammed into it. Matt came out and assessed the damage and sent crews to rebuild the entire section. The brick work was outstanding and the crews were professional and knowledgeable. The job involved not only rebuilding the brick wall but replacing a cracked cement retaining wall and the wood planks. They did an amazing job and it actually looks better than before. I highly recommend this company!

First red flag was that he showed up with gravel that was literally covered in mud (it was essentially half mud, half gravel). He came with a helper and did a couple of hours of work but then asked for money because he needed to get more supplies (next red flag) so we gave him $350 (the total quote for the job was $1000). He left his helper at my house doing nothing and returned 2-3 hours later (smelling of alcohol--red flag!) picked up his helper and said he would be back the following day. He never came. He called later and said he'd be back on Monday but needed more money for supplies and asked to stop by to pick it up. Like total idiots we gave him another $400 and guess what? He never came back on Monday. Didn't return calls or texts. Complete scam. I thought I had done my due diligence but be careful, I think that Yelp sends you contacts that you didn't actually contact in the first place. When I look back at reviews, I can't believe I went forward with this guy. He is a completely dishonest person and I kick myself for being so trusting but, live and learn. Karma will get him though I'm sure. I bought him and his helper all this food and drinks and had planned to give a really nice tip. When you take advantage of good people, it comes back around. Good riddance, George. Hope you are happy with yourself. Do not hire! Do not let him steal your money!

I reached out to Edwin at Monroe Masonry for a quote and explained the issues we were facing as well as what we were looking for. Edwin provided honest, straight forward advice and solutions and promptly emailed me an estimate and plans for exactly what I was looking for. His pricing was fair and I felt confident in his ability to deliver quality work. Now that everything is done I am completely blown away by the quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail by Edwin and his crew. Edwin went above and beyond, with improvements to our driveway that I didn't even originally ask for. He noticed that the 4x4 support beams for the roof overhang in front of my garage were pretty flimsy and would not withstand the forces of an earthquake well and suggested installed steel plating at the footings of the beams planted in a concrete base (see photos). He also replaced our sewage clean out which stuck out above our brick in front of the house and replaced with with a more modern cover that was flush with the brick. The flooding we were facing in front of the driveway is entirely remedied by the drainage installed with improved grading throughout the 1500sq ft of driveway to a central drain which goes out through our planters to the city street underneath the sidewalk. Edwin handled all the city permitting to deal with the sidewalk demo for us and generally kept us very well informed throughout the entire project. I cannot recommend Edwin and his team enough. Any concrete or masonry jobs I have in the future I will go through him. Working with Monroe Masonry was by far one of the best construction project experiences we have had with any builder we have worked with.

After getting quotes from three different landscaping companies, we opted to work with Drougthscape. Clear explanation of costs (itemized phases of work), good rapport, experienced Team, respectful, and fabulous/creative design eye. Services: Demolition, removal of dead sod, removal and correct installation of irrigation, correct installation of Decomposed Granite (DG), installation gopher deterrent mesh barrier, Zero-scape the front of the house/gravel only, additional fencing installed to make a distinct garden for the guest unit. About $69,000 USD. The biggest expenses were irrigation and fencing. Bonus: Our dog fell in love with the crew. The only con: our project began in December 2025-January 2026. It took longer than estimated because of the holidays and then unavoidable rain (for the one time of year it rains in LA). These complaints have to do with timing rather than any service, interaction, or decision made my Cody or his crew.

Elmer, Leandro, Jose Hernandez and Jose Vengara, were our crew and all of them operated with professionalism and integrity. I had a crew out to my house the very next day. They removed the entire step and used all new composite material. There is no paint that will peel, no splits in wood. I WILL UPDATE FURTHER WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I spent approximately $75,000 with this company. The paving job was the main job. Front, driveway and backyard. They did an awesome job on the pavers. The small job was to add a wooden step around an existing wood deck. This is where everything fell apart. The planks were laid at different distances apart. The paint bubbled in numerous places. The Redwood they said they used, has split down the center of some pieces. Josef was responsive to my complaints and sent out the worker to repair. This happened 3 times. He repaired the wood cracks with "bondo". There are so many layers of paint, it's peeling off. I gave this company one year and 3 attempts to make this step look as it should. You can see it in the finish quality: the stonework is clean, the tile on the curved bench is precise, and the side yard pathway turned out better than we imagined. He started off very responsive when providing me a quote for the job but the communication started to dwindle once he knew the job had started and his bid was accepted.
