I lived in Arizona where we had "bertos" everywhere. I've missed the California style fast Mexican food greatly since moving to Houston and haven't found a place here yet. Well, hadn't. I saw this place while visiting a friends house and threw all other plans out the window to try Aldanbertos, in hopes it was what I thought. And it was. My first bite into the carne asada burrito had me at tears, like a taste of home. It's silly, I know, but I've been so homesick and something like this, maybe small, but felt huge. I've been back many times since, even though it's not close to where I live at all. The service is always nice, they're fast and always open. I have literally drove past this place for the past 7 years I've lived in the area and it never crossed my mind to ever stop, well I'm really glad I did. My wife was craving a breakfast burrito and I was craving asada fries and this place did not disappoint! The staff were nice and helped out since it was my first time. Inside was very nice and up kept. Conveniently this location also has a drive through, but I wanted to take my time browsing the menu. The burrito was great and the asada fries were good. My only complaint and this is more of a personal preference, other asada fries I've had used better cheese as a base, not that this one was bad. But it just needs a little boost to send it over the edge! We will definitely be back! read more

We've been here twice and love it and will definitely return. Be careful of some of their sauces, liquid fire for some of them. My son and I love a good spicy sauce and this place exceeds what we thought we could handle. One tiny amount of salsa was like 8 napkins of nose blowing for me. . The food is really good and the prices are very reasonable. We read other reviews and agree with all of the good ones. The burritos are solid, and not wimpy or filled with nonsense fillers unless you ask / it's requested. The tacos are homemade crispy corn tortillas, which are a must for me. I'm sure the flour tortillas are equally delish. If they had preformed taco bell shells, this review would not be happening. I do wish they weren't mopping while we were here, the Fabulousa was overwhelming. Service was very good both times, you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Big easy to read menu, self serve chips and salsa. There are at least 5 sauce choices, and again, taste them first before you slather it on anything. I will try a place a couple 3 times before writing a bad review. Today I had the menudo it was as bland if not for the fresh jalapenos it would have tasted like nothing. The piece Were uniformed cut so I'm amazing this was from a can. Had a chorizo and egg taco it was typical nothing special. But ok. I had the nachos meat was extremely salty I couldn't eat them. And the time before that I had rolled tacos they were good but salty. I don't like writing negative reviews on mom and pop places but for the price you're paying for this food people need a review. read more

Tried this place looking for some California style Mexican food. And this is the closest got while in Houston. I ordered through door dash and came hot and pretty fast. I got the carne asada fries and a beef taco. The carne asada fries are big enough to feed like four people. My only complaint is that the salsa is a little watery. Will try it again. read more

This reminded me of when I lived in California and there were places like this on every corner. It is cheap and a little bit divey but so so good! The chile relleno was fabulous as was the Chile Verde plate (so spicy though!)... if you are looking for traditional Mexican food (not Tex Mex) where the entire menu is in Spanish and the salsa is ridiculously hot then this is your joint! Came into the area for a dr appt and we were very pleased with our meal. I got the asada fries with the chili relleno burrito and my wife got the beef rolled tacos. Everything was delicious and I really enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa bar with the marinated spicy carrots. The cashier was very pleasant and answered our questions since it was our first time there. The dining area was clean and inviting and decorated for Valentine's Day. Ugh, I used to love this place. I have been quite a few times. Unfortunately, the consistency has been all over the place. In some cases, the quantities come out different, the ingredients used are different. (example: the flying saucer shells.), sometimes the meat is lean, sometimes it is very fatty. On several of the visits, the tables were all dirty. It would just be nice if the dining room was fully kept up. I know they are a family run shop and staffing is lean, but you have to keep your customers wanting to come back for more. read more

I cant believe that the one restaurant I had the most reservations around losing as part of my voyage to Houston is literally now 10min from me again. I finally went and ordered my usual #8 and it was phenomenal, just as it is prepared in California. Not all Mexican Food is the same, just as all American food is not- its reginal. I do hope more Texans will expand thei pallette for a more coastoal variety of Mexican food... It can be absolutely enlightening if done. The great and uniquque thing about Aldaberto's is that they are not trying to over-indulge on on the classics. They simply execute with flavor galore. And boy having lived in SoCal for 20 years I finally found a place I can get my taste on. And it's worth the 40min drive. We ordered some basic staple items from them today and it was perfect. We ordered the carne asada chimichanga, bean and cheese burrito, carne asada burrito and nachos. And not a one disappointed me. The ultra-processed cheese used (kinda-cheese, maybe?) gets really oily when it's warmed up & then it gets hard & solidifies as soon as it cools. Don't see this place lasting very long. Had a beef quesadilla that was blah. Good size portion but did not taste good. There wasn't any flavor the meat. Asked for a spicy salsa and I was directed to a bottle of La Guacamaya. The Jamaica was the best thing there. I couldn't believe they charge $1.75 for a cup of water. We saw this place on Tik tok and wanted to try it. They are open 24 hours, offer a breakfast menu all day. We tried the carne asada breakfast burrito, Mexican salsa breakfast burrito, the California burrito, and a breakfast plate that included bacon and eggs with rice and beans and a side of tortillas. The food came out nice and hot. The meat could use a little bit more seasoning but overall it was still good. They offer dine in, to go, and also a drive thru. The staff were friendly and patient while we looked at the menu and brought our food to the table when it was ready. It is a good size place with tables throughout.
