Lines can get long, but very worth the wait.

I have become somewhat of a regular at La Casita. Hands down, you won't find a better breakfast (or lunch) in the area. Everything -- and I mean everything - is cooked fresh and made to order. My personal favorites are the tortas. My wife and I eat here 4-6 times a week. The number could reach as high as 7 days a week if they were open Sunday's. Two brothers (Marco and Victor) run this restaurant and they both have a passion for quality and delicious taste. My typical order is a breakfast torta with bacon and extra bacon and a fajita torta. My wife and I share both so we get a half of each. Oh my gosh -- the food is so good -- the place never gets old. While it is good to call your order in ahead of time, it's best to eat the food onsite. The meal is hotter, fresher, and tastes even better. That's not to say it won't be good if you take it home. We have about a ten minute drive home -- the food is still hot when we get home. I highly recommend trying this place. You will not be disappointed! 5 stars - and since we go there most days of the week, I would definitely try this place again.

What a nice surprise. My husband came across some nice reviews of this place - and at first I was skeptical... tacos from a gas station? Ehh... why the hell not! I am so glad we tried it. The tacos are delicious! We ordered the beef fajita, pastor, and chicken tacos and we're extremely impressed. The tacos are $2 each, cooked fresh, and made to order. They are stuffed full if meat - definitely worth the price. I can't wait to try more!

After a friends recommendation I finally tried lunch here. I got 4 corn tacos- al pastor, fajita, asada, and Barbacoa. Oh my goodness! Reminded me of my younger days when I lived in south Houston and found these delicious taco trucks. The meat all tasted great, not overly greasy and no grizzle. Really tender and full of flavor. They top them with onions and cilantro and give you two salsas - red and green. Both salsas added an additional layer of flavor. He fills the tacos to the top, definitely no skimping on the meat. The staff is friendly and food comes out pretty quick. The store has 3 booths if you want to stay and eat. I got mine to go. I'm excited to return for a torta and breakfast.

Thanks for the referral Kelley. The best tacos I have had in a long time. I was a little hesitate because it was in a Shell gas station. I had the taco platter. Corn tortillas. One with grilled chicken, barbacoa and pierna de cerdo(roasted pork). The roasted pork was so tender and the barbacoa was the best barbacoa I have tasted. Not fatty meat. Good favor. I was too full to eat the rice and beans. My husband had the carne asada torta. He said it was ok. He said he will try the Cuban torta next time. The Cuban torta is made with the slow cooked pork. Tacos are $2.00 for corn. I like places that serve with two corn tortillas for each taco. That means it won't fall apart when they over stuff it with meat. You just have to get pass the gas station atmosphere.

Chorizo, egg, and cheese on flour and corn. Preferred flour, corn was store bought.

Julio's wife, Elena, stopped by the table and checked in the food. She also told us of a wrestling event that was coming up on May 1. She was SO pleasant. Our server, Freddy, got the order in perfectly, even though there were 7 of us. The prices were reasonable. The food again was spot on. We WILL return! BTW, the watermelon margarita was wonderful! This place has become my most recent go-to when that little voice says - "pssst....Dave....Dave....i know you hear me....you want fajitas." Admittedly, I hear that voice a lot. In any case, I usually order the fajitas. They give you a decent quantity that tastes great. The meet is tender and flavorful and those tortillas had me at hello. I love this stuff! My son elects to go for the cheese enchiladas. I don't have to ask him how much he likes them because is a super picky eater and this is the one place where he actually cleans his plate. The margaritas are solid as well and when you glance around the restaurant, you'll see them on most tables. This place is a well oiled machine. There are plenty of staff and they all work unison to bring drinks / chips / salsa / refills / orders / food -- and that food usually comes out before I can feel guilty for eating chips, salsa, and queso. I found this trick that works for me. Since I 100% of the time feel guilty for leaving the place feeling so full, I started parking on the other end of the parking lot. This allows my to burn off 2.7 calories of the food that just ate so I feel 2.7 percent less guilty. On a serious note - this place is the real deal. While some of my previous favorites have either closed down or gone downhill a bit - Julio's has remained strong. ¡Salud!

The horchata stood out right away, perfectly sweet and easily one of the best I've found in the city. I ordered the chorizo breakfast tacos, which were solid, and the huevos ahogados with frijoles charros, both full of flavor and well-prepared. The empanadas were also great, especially the chicken and cheese, that one was my favorite. To finish, I tried the pan de elote, and it was excellent. Overall, a really strong breakfast experience with authentic flavors across the board. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

My husband and I finally got to try it last week, and it did not disappoint! All of our items were fresh and delicious! I was enchanted by the atmosphere and presence of the owner and her family. We have already been back for a different special on this week's menu! We especially love the creamy poblano corn empanadas. We fought over one last time, but this time we each got our own. The waitstaff we have had both times is very sweet, but does not speak or understand English very well and was unable to really help us decide this second time, so we just took her recommendation. One of the items she recommended, the Huarachon, was not my favorite, but the other items were very good. We would have especially enjoyed some interaction with the chef-owner or the gentleman who seems to be her husband, since it did not seem very busy at the time, but they simply said "hello". Hopefully next time! And there will be a next time!
