A cute cafe to head over to when you want to work or study! Food options were alright, and did have a great vibe to it overall! Got the Smoked Salmon salad and it was subpar, would not go back for it! 6/10 recommend!

We came on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch, and this place was bustling full. We had placed ourselves on the waitlist while driving here and had wait for around 20 minutes before being seated as they were completely packed. We're definitely recommend using the waitlist function so it cuts down on your wait time. We got the Duck Benedict and the Chicken Waffles. Both were freshly prepared and well-made, and were great brunch items. Service was a little slow, but understandable due to it being so busy.

If it was no the coffee that was up to standard, I would have given zero star. The service was just poor. Two groups waiting in line at the very small and narrow entrance while the staffs did not even bother to clean up the few tables with guests already left. The group before me waited for 30 minutes just waiting someone to clean the empty tables so that they could sit. Definitely not planning to visit again.

I always get their chicken and waffles, it's soooo good!! Recently tried their French toast and it was also very yummy. I always get some type of latte or coffee drink when I come here because their coffee is so strong. Always hits the spot! The cafe is pretty small though so expect a bit of a wait if you go on weekends.

A busy brunch location that serves a rather small menu of bennys, spaghetti and a couple other dishes. I have been to their Richmond hill location and this is the first time at the Markham one. There is less seating in this location, but the service seems better. The servers allow us to wait by the bar seats before claiming 1of 6 tables in the establishment, or you can choose to just eat at the bar tables. Sausage egg benny - An egg benny with a breakfast sausage on an English muffin with a side of potatoes and salad. Salad was good. Potatoes were over fried and was not seasoned as well as I remembered. The sausage benny on English muffin combination was a bit disappointing. The muffin felt soggy and heavy didn't contribute anything to the combination. The sausage was well seasoned and didn't feel too oily which was nice. On the egg benny was also good, but didn't mesh well with the sausage. Individual components on its own was good, together it was disappointing. Alchemy is a great place to try with unique dishes, but their menu hasn't changed since my last visit. Unlikely to visit either locations again due to the lack of innovation with their dishes.

Came by for a coffee the other day and it was a decent experience. Parking was available in the private lot. The windows could use a deep clean though... Ordered a mocha at the counter and it was decent. Despite using whole milk, the mocha tasted a touch watery. The chocolate wasn't too sweet and quite tasty. The latte art was great, temperature of the drink was good and the foaming was perfect. ~$6 after tax for a mocha. Cash and debit card accepted.

Fresh and tasty, massive amounts and colorful. The owner is a very polite and generous man and takes pride in his work. Small sociable and cozy place.

Alchemy coffee is a cute brunch spot. I came here with some friends for a Saturday brunch. We signed up for the online waitlist and got a spot within 5-10 minutes. They have some tables as well as some bar seating. We were sat at the bar but that worked for us. I got the duck benny with a matcha latte. The matcha latte was pretty good. The duck benny was good as well but I wish the duck itself was a little more flavourful. The benny came with potatoes and salad.

Alchemy Coffee 4361 Hwy 7 Unit 1, Unionville, ON This little cozy cafe is def one of my fav brunch places and certainly a neighbourhood Featuring brunch dishes with a bit of a twist - they have an extensive menu that caters to every craving! From pork belly to chicken/duck waffles , to pasta and duck/shrimp Benny, there is something for everyone! Their coffees and lattes are also spot on and they do also have tea lattes (London fog, matcha) as well They do get busy but I love how they have a Yelp waitlist so that I don't have to head there until my table is almost ready. Not the most kid friendly space since it's such a small capacity but they do have a second location in Richmond hill with a bigger space!

I came here for coffee as I had been here a few times in the past. I had good experiences before. As I was waiting for my lattes, I was looking at the meals coming out. Eggs Benedict was what most people were ordering, presentation looked really nice, meals are $15 and above. My lattes came, but unfortunately my latte didn't taste the way I remembered it to be, coffee flavour wasn't strong enough, it seemed as if the portion of coffee wasn't enough, too much milk to coffee ratio. I'm hoping the next time I come back it will be back up to par as before.

3.5 Alchemy what happened? Used to be so amazing!! Came on a rainy weekend and so glad they have the Yelp waitlist so we were able to get a place in line while on the way to the cafe. We got seated at a table by the door and their coffees are great as usual. I ordered a houjicha latte and it was a perfect sweetness level. Our table got two variations of their eggs benny (smoked salmon and house made sausage patty) and the chicken and waffles. The chicken and waffles arrived at the table first and the chicken was fried well and super crispy. The waffles were very light, airy and more crispy than expected and not sweet at all (they do provide a small cup of syrup). The poached eggs on the bennys were very disappointing on this occasion. They were over cooked and not runny at all :( I did enjoy the home made sausage patty though and it did have a slight spicy kick. Overall, I hope this was a one off experience regarding the eggs and that next time I can get some oozing egg yolk!!

Alchemy use to be my go to cafe but their quality went down. Came here on a weekday morning and it wasn't too busy but the food still arrived cold. The potatoes were cold not crispy at all and the Benedict was over cooked, no runny yolk. We also got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was juicy but no flavour. I think they rely on the sauces which tasted like bottled Thai sweet sauce.

Alchemy has always been an amazing brunch spot with savory takes on some standard brunch items, in addition to their own creations. The staff is very kind and service is very quick. Love the natural colour decor to give it a very warm and welcoming rustic feel.

I was greeted immediately upon arriving and, after struggling to decide because every section of the menu sounded interesting, was recommended their Orange Coffee. It was excellent. The preparation alone was worth watching. Fresh orange slices were coated in brown sugar and caramelized with a torch. A sprig of rosemary was then lightly torched, releasing its oils and filling the room with fragrant herbal aromas. The orange was placed into the glass before what i think was San Pellegrino Aranciata was poured over it. Finally, an Americano was carefully layered on top, keeping the two liquids beautifully separated, and the drink was finished with the rosemary garnish. I was told not to stir it, but instead to enjoy it from the bottom up. The first sip is light, sweet, and gently fizzy before giving way to the rich, earthy bitterness of the coffee. It's a combination that sounds unusual but works remarkably well. The service was five-star from start to finish, and the relaxed atmosphere makes it an easy place to linger over a thoughtfully crafted cup. The only thing is the washroom is the public park washroom so it's not the prettiest and cleanest; there were some bugs and some smell. In terms of the menu, there aren't a lot of choices for pasta but it makes sense since it is a bistro. Ordered the Mortadella & Burrata and Tagliatelle al Ragu. Not bad, but nothing out of the ordinary, either. But what you really go for is the view of Toogood pond. With a review like that, you'd think I'd rate it higher. So why did I give it only 2 stars? We liked it enough that we tried to make a reservation again. Only now, their policies had changed. You had to make a $25 minimum per person, and on top of that, they add a 20% penalty (what they euphemistically call "gratuity". But it most definitely is not a gratuity, because a gratuity means that it's voluntary. There's nothing voluntary about the 20% surcharge. So call it what it is - a penalty). Because of these 2 extremely dumb changes, we'll never be dining there again. There are plenty of other delicious spots in Unionville (including 3 other Italian restaurants that don't have these practices), that there's no need to tolerate these policies.

Their coffee/espresso is solid here (Hatch beans!), so you know you're getting a good drink. I also appreciate how there is some seating available (high top table by the front windows, bench seating along one side of the store). It's not the best cafe if you want to work or have a long chat, but it's nice that there's the option to sit and relax instead of just taking your drink to go. I wish the prices of their speciality drinks were slightly less expensive though, because $8 for an iced drink (while delicious & pretty) is a lot to spend.

It finished with a smooth, almost creamy note that made the whole drink incredibly enjoyable. The only downside is the size-to-price ratio. At around CAD $8.50 for what felt like a 10 oz drink, it's definitely on the pricier side for something that goes down this easily. I bought a couple of buns as a customer since then and I'm hooked! Bun Appetit is located at Commerce Gate. It's located closer to Highway 7. It's around the corner from Kinton Ramen, which I have been to a handful of times during the pandemic to pick up good eats. I found a parking spot steps away from Bun Appetit on a Wednesday evening at around 6:15 pm and backed in to it. It's easier to find parking when it's a weekday, in the afternoon. Bun Appetit's breads are naturally fermented for 168 hours. I liked that all buns and breads are gut-friendly and low on the glycemic index. I'm always interested in lower sugar options. I have sampled these items: - Baguette - Whole wheat walnut vegan bun - Lychee bun - Raisin earl grey bun - Oreo chocolate delight bun - Matcha pistachio pretzel - Whole wheat German pretzel - Yeast loaf with Nutella They were all delicious. They were soft and airy. My favourites were the whole wheat walnut vegan bun and the Oreo chocolate delight bun (also known as the messy hands bun). The former had whole walnuts that were so crunchy and fresh. The bread was chewy and soft. The messy hands bun used dark chocolate. It was also fluffy and soft. It lived up to its name. I had messy fingers just eating a morsel! It has 9 g of sugar, which is practically nothing being fermented. I liked how unique the flavours were. I loved the smell of the lychee bun. I wish it had lychee pieces in it. Instead, it was wine-infused and that flavour overpowered everything. I loved the yeast loaf with Nutella as a dessert option. I nearly picked up a loaf after this event was over! As a parting snack, I got the truffle mushroom one. It was the last one. I love mushrooms. It was super delicious with truffle oil, enoki mushrooms, spinach, garlic, and melted cheeses on top. The bun was soft and perfect. It was such a gourmet bun. I have since returned to get more buns: - Strawberry beetroot - Chocolate arancia The strawberry beetroot bun was fluffy. I decided to cut it in half. To my surprise and joy, it had whole strawberries in it. Wow and yay! I love fruit, but I wasn't expecting so much of it in this bun. I loved it. It was naturally sweet from the strawberries. The beetroot wasn't noticeable in flavour. I feel it added colour to the triangular bun more than anything. The chocolate arancia was equally as unique slicing it in half. This bun had candied orange bits in it. It tasted so good with the chocolate morsels on top and the subtle chocolate flavour in the bun itself. It was delicious. I need to return for more. I have found the buns of my dreams, which sounds odd and funny. It's all true! I paid with a credit card. You can register your phone number to collect points towards goodies. I'll be back. (185)
