This review is for the bakery and their cake decorator. The woman who took my order was very pleasant, patient and customer service oriented. Her name was Samantha. I gave her a picture of the cake I wanted made and she said that it wouldn't be a problem. It was an Avengers themed cake. Although the cake on the photo I had was made of fondant, I knew Albertsons would only be able to do buttercream. I was fine with that. I told them I would make the Thor Hammer and Hulk Fist myself to put on top of the cake. When I picked up the cake, it was a complete disappointment. The cake decorator put a Thor hammer on top of the cake made of buttercream. I did not want that. She also made the face of the ironman mask orange. Orange!Ironman has a yellow face. C'mon! After pointing these things out Samantha recalled our conversation when she took my order but said she didn't relay the information to the cake decorator. Great. Samantha offered to scrape the hammer off the top but I didn't want to risk ruining the entire cake since the cake decorator was gone for the day. She also offered to pipe yellow buttercream over the orange. Fine. After paying for it and taking it home, I found that the top tier sank into the bottom tier. I don't know if the cake being at room temperature and the weather being warm that afternoon had anything to do with. I drove as carefully as I could (and I only live like 5 miles away) but of course there were still slight bumps from the exit of the shopping center curb. Maybe that did it. I don't know. It was so sad looking because it only sank in on one side. So it was lopsided. It was too late to get a new cake. I was embarrassed by it as it was supposed to be the showcase/centerpiece on my dessert table. People thought it was homemade and not from a professional baker. So disappointed. After cutting into it, I saw that they didn't even put dowels in the bottom layer to support the top layer. Hello!! That's what you're supposed to do!! No wonder it sank. I would think a professional cake decorator would know this, especially if they offer tiered cakes. It wasn't a special request. Luckily since the cake was for a bunch of 4 year olds, they still thought the cake was cool. read more

Came here for the $1.39 chicken. I'm very familiar with how the fab5! Promotion works but made a simple mistake in my selection and picked an item not included. This brought up the total of my groceries significantly. When I returned to fix the issue the employee handling my transaction was very insensitive and down right rude. He threw my go back groceries to another register and was short with me. The whole situation was humiliating and I was left feeling ashamed for reading the ad wrong. read more

After I moved to Irvine back in 2012, Albertsons was my go-to grocery store. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming, the store very clean and organized. It even carries delicious sushi! I rolled into the Parking Lot early this morning around 7:30/7:45 to get some bottled water. I thought this Market was closed, the parking lot was a total Ghost Town, I guess people around the area had a rough Friday night and were sleeping one off. I was about to pull out of the lot when I observed a father & son or kidnapper & victim walk in so I figured they must be open. I walked in and this place is HUGE and it was empty. The night crew was still stocking the shelves and the curtsey clerk was sweeping the floors. I had just pumped gas so I asked a cashier where the bathroom was, they said at the end of aisle 12. I walked in and the bathroom was spotless with a filled out 'bathroom inspection card' on the door. This place was so BIG I had no idea where to go to find water, I asked another employee and they helped me. I walked up to the front, used the self service lane and was out the door within minutes. I did take a look at their produce section and it packed and looked pretty darn fresh. This Market is located in the Quail Hill Exit 3 off of the 405 parking lot, if you did not want a 2nd date you could take your date here and do something from the start of the day to the end. I am talking lunch, dinner, yoga, rob a bank and be headed to Mexico on the 405 within minutes it is all good. read more

Albertsons is the normal grocery store I go to but this isn't my normal location. Had to stop in a get a few things and I happened to be in the area. Parking was pretty straightforward. Layout was a little different than my "home" store. The customer service was great. I tried to use Apple Pay. It wasn't working on the terminal/lane I happened to be in and the line was stacking up behind me. Throughout the whole time the team was really friendly and worked through the situation, was able to transfer my transaction to another terminal and I was able to finish the transaction. The Albertsons staff I interacted with was great which included a cashier and especially the guy bagging who had some experience with Apple Pay. read more

The cashier, Terri, has a potty mouth. I was at checkout, and she was talking to the man who was bagging groceries. She was gossiping about someone and said, "...and sh*t. I mean, who do you think she borrows money from?" I was with my young son, who heard it. The customer behind me heard it. Terri didn't seem to care that she was using profanity openly in front of customers. Tacky and unprofessional. I'll avoid her from now on. Customers shouldn't be subjected to hearing about her sh*t. Unfortunate as the other staff at this Albertsons are courteous and professional. read more

This is a clean, spacious and well stocked Albertsons. Artichokes were 4 for $5 when we were in there. What a great deal! They seemed to have a lot of good deals while I was browsing. We picked up some random items - some frozen food, alcohol, juice, etc. They have a redbox inside, which is nice for the days its raining and too cold outside, cause that happens all the time in Cali. The checker was friendly and chatty, which is why I'll be giving this place a 4-star rating. Our family of four has been ordering every bday, graduation, celebration, anniversary, mothers day, "you name it" cake you can imagine multiple times a year specifically from Mia not because of her creative and delicious cakes she makes but her honest, humble and always smiling care she has given us over the past 13+years. On every occasion multiple friends and family ask us where did you get your cake and they have started to go to Mia not bc its fantastic but bc she treats them with respect and dignity. So I want to make sure that this review by Catherine C. is not taken as a reflection of Mia bc it is by far from the truth, anyone who worked with her, managed her, is a client of hers..knows what I am talking about. For Mia in bakery today. All I asked for was a simple cake box. She gives me a whole story about how we don't sell cake boxes and refused to give me one. I didn't ask to buy one. Toto, we're not in Santa Ana anymore! I had thought the Albertsons on Bristol was nice and fairly new, but the Quail Hill store is super fancy! It fits in with the rest of the Quail Hill shopping center in looking a lot like centers in Newport. The layout of the store was different than what I've seen before, with the frozen foods on the right-hand side instead of down the middle. I didn't buy any produce, but it looked like they have a nice selection. I noticed they had a lot of items like gourmet salad dressings and imported pasta that the store on Bristol didn't carry. Like Anita, I don't shop at regular supermarkets very often, but every once in a while I'll stop in for some basics. The staff was friendly (two employees said "hi" to me as I was walking around the store), and the cashier was very nice. read more

Cara in the bakery is absolutely AMAZING! She was incredibly sweet and caring! I needed a cake for my mom who had asked for a specific one but they ran out them for the day! Cara was quick to look in the freezer and found the cake...just too small though! She suggested a different cake and I decided to jump! She added EXTRA STRAWBERRIES to the cake and made sure it was perfect! I cannot recommend coming here and looking for Cara's help at the bakery enough! read more

This is my local albertsons. I like to go to this one because it's close and usually less crowded than others in Irvine. I love coming here on Monday for this chicken dinner special it's awesome. This place gets a solid 3-star "mediocre" rating from me. Not really "bad," but nothing to rave about either. They're the closest grocery store for me so I end up here every few nights. Prices seem to be a tiny bit higher than the Ralphs on Alton & Jeffrey, but I don't really mind because the Albertsons is usually less crowded and hectic. Plus I don't buy that many groceries to begin with. The store is always clean and things are easy to find. I'd probably give them 4 stars except for the fact that I frequently find myself in the middle of these unusually awkward conversations between the checkers when I go to pay. One time, it was one girl accusing the other of repeatedly prank calling the phone at her register - and tonight, it was a different girl complaining to one of the guys who works there about various problems with her boyfriend. It's not the conversations themselves that make the situations unpleasant...it's the fact that in a lot of these cases I can't even get the person to acknowledge me with a simple hello because they're so caught up in whatever they're talking about. Anyway - sporadic rudeness aside this place is fine, and I trust will take care of your grocery shopping needs. read more

Odd to review a grocery store but I am so pleased with their bakery, meat department (best carne asada) etc. Every checker asks is you found everything ok and will make sure you leave in a better spirit. I go here for lunch almost daily. Love the fresh cut fruit. The homemade tortilla chips and salsas are even better than a restaurants! They carry some chicago favorites, white castle burgers, chicken kiev, and some sell home run inn pizza.(or head to sprouts but check the expiration dates on the pizza) The guy who works the deli meat and cheese is super friendly and pretty passionate about what he has to offer. My only complaint is that I find a lot of the same items cheaper at Ralphs. Overall nice, clean, friendly, fully stocked and in a great location for us who live in quail hill read more

Very clean place. The staff is really nice too. They have two RedBoxes too which is a huge plus. I came here the other day during my lunch break and was able to rent a movie here with no hassle. Usually there are lines at other RedBox locations, but not this one. The restrooms here were very clean as well. They are towards the back on the right part of the store. read more

This review is for the Albertsons on Yorktown in Huntington Beach. I don't always shop there as their prices can be a bit high. However, during the pandemic, I ordered groceries on their very easy to use website and picked them up by parking in a designated parking places at the market. They brought my order to the car and put them in the back. This was extremely convenient. When my order included produce, the produce that the shopper selected was always high quality. I really appreciate that Albertsons made this adjustment during the pandemic. Thank you. read more

This is the slowest grocery store around. Be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes in the check out line alone! Unfortunately I live up the street and come here often. Due to slow lines and wait times I only come here for 1 or 2 things. I use the Ralph's on Alton for the big trips. Please do something about the lines at checkout. read more

This review is solely for the employees Mark and Gary. These two gentleman are such a breath of fresh air. No one enjoys having to go to the groceries late at night, but these two make the chore well worth it. They are both very kind and charismatic. They don't just ring you up and put your groceries away but they have an actual authentic conversation with you. Management should know how lucky they are to have such great employees. read more

OK, now that we have that out of the way, my local Albertson's is much like any other chain grocery store. 98% shit you don't need/will make you fat, 2% stuff I need (like Tabasco and Lactaid - but don't eat them together). The folks who work in our store are very helpful and tend to be funny. OH, one last thing, for you BofA folks, they have an ATM inside that accepts deposits. read more

I bought coconut water once and I thought it had been opened before so I took it back to the store and the lady gladly told me to go get a new one. There are a lot of grocery stores that leave out food that are rotting, but this place isn't one of them! Workers: Super nice and extremely helpful! This is one of the nicest Albertson's I've ever been in and I am not a fan usually, but I was very impressed here. It is a very big store and have an amazing selection of just about everything. Normally where there might be two or three brands or two or three variations of brand, but the choice here is extensive. This is definitely the worst Albertson's that I've ever been to, but the location keeps me coming back. SUPER UNDERSTAFFED. At peak hours, never more than 3 registers open, lines typically of 5-6 people. Produce selection is mediocre. Hot and fresh bread is almost never hot and fresh (meaning you can typically get free cold french bread between hours of 4-7pm if you hold them to their store promise). Some employees are scary - for example, witnessed two employees having a shouting match in deli area, which made me question how safe it was to be in the store. read more

This store doesn't carry the soup or popcorn that I like. Common brands like Select Harvest and the WW enforced popcorn are popular enough that they should stalk them, as well as soy icecreams. The store is large but wo commonly used brands and items. However, the staff here is absolutely amazing and nice. read more

This is pretty much the average grocery store that has goods ranging from bread to ice cream. The fresh baked cookies are worth a try and they make the bakery area smell real good when being baked. The customer service is great because the workers will guide you to the proper aisle if you can't find something. I usually visit this location because it isn't that busy and parking is easy to find. Just remember to bring your own reusable bags to help the environment and save some money! read more

This particular Albertsons resembles the one on Jeffrey with the fresh items on the left and the frozen items on the right, only the bakery and deli sections are located in a structure that reaches up to the ceiling on the left side of the store from the entrance. They only have two aisles of frozen food and seemingly less inventory of it. Also, the sushi here is mostly at the self-checkout. The prices here are pretty much the same as any other Albertsons. At this location, they have recycling machines in plain view at the front of the inside of the store and some Redbox kiosks. There are no other notable differences. read more

I shop here a lot because it's so close to my house, but if it wasn't so close I'd probably look elsewhere. The store is pretty much of a generic grocery store with one bad exception. If you shop here you had better check the expiration dates on everything you buy. I have seen outdated product on the shelves on numerous occasions. And not just outdate by a day or two, but sometimes weeks and even months. Also in the produce section they have numerous bag dispensers to put your produce in. Many times, out of the seven or eight dispensers only one has bags. Not a disastrous problem, but along with the expired sell by dates you have to wonder what other details are being overlooked. read more

Removing self checkout was the worst decision. They have a policy about not letting 3 people wait in line at a time. However, this is never the case! Since they removed self checkout, there has always been a LONG wait. If you need to pop in to grab something...expect long waits at the register. Such a pain. I need to remind myself not to come here. At least other grocery stores that don't have self checkout are more efficient and have more staff. read more

My favorite Albertsons. I lived in Quail Hill for over 6 years and even though I moved, this is still my go to grocery store. I love their fresh produce and the warmth of the team at this Albertsons. Only con is that they no longer carry their onion rolls, but it's not a reason to deduct any stars. read more
