Try to avoid this location. Ralph's is expensive but this place is poorly run. The self checkouts are always having errors causing major delays with poor staffing. If you put a bag down to bag your groceries it will lock you out and the one staff person is overwhelmed by most of the registers blinking. I tried to tell an employee the woman at self check was overwhelmed and the cashier got mad at me and was rude when I just tried to say the woman needed help and half the registers were blinking of self checkout doesn't work they need staff clearing error codes faster. The parking lot is littered with carts since they only have one cart catcher which was full and no one was clearing the lot. This place is a wreck, 2/10 just avoid. read more

Convenient location where I buy giftcards to give to my toddler's teachers. Luckily, the giftcard shelf is always stocked with different brands. You may have to ask an employee for specific brands such as Amazon or Apple. I like that their self checkout allows giftcard purchasing, which makes skipping the long checkout lanes easy. I usually buy giftcards on Fridays to receive the 2x Fuel Points bonus on my account that is applied towards their fuel savings. Note there are few gas stations that accept Ralphs fuel points. read more

I was just here at the end of a long day, going through self-checkout like a zombie and the woman helping everyone, Julie/Julia, was so kind and helpful to 4 people in a row right next to me and it was just a nice moment to see someone going out of their way at 1015pm to just be so kind to everyone. read more

The parking lot here is not safe. It's pretty dangerous. Surprisingly for an IRVINE. . This happened recently, where this old disabled person who cannot even speak English was in my way when I tried to go inside my car after I load my groceries. He was being mentally psychotic, screaming at me, could not even understand English. I was pretty horrified. I thought he was a fucking zombie. Eventually, I got to other side of my door and got in, but he kept hitting my car harassing me. A disabled person like that should never be unattended. I was gonna fight off and knock him down but I decided not to because he was disabled.. I hope this weird shit will never happen again read more

This is the s cons time these turds sent me expired milk. So nasty and disgusting to open milk and find out it's been spoiled 5 days before Uber Eats delivered it. Not to mention Uber Eats doesn't have a Yelp. That's because they suck so bad they'd just rather not get bad reviews. They said it was more than 7 days and it was too late. This has been our grocery store since we moved to Irvine about a year ago. We usually come on Sunday nights to pick up our goods for the week and it can get pretty crowded but that's to be expected. I like that it's easy to check availability and coupons on the Ralph's app, it tends to be pretty accurate. We tried pick up for the first time this past week and it was really easy! I do wish there was more enforcement of the pick up spots; there was only one available and the rest seemed to be filled with people who were shopping in store. I used the app to check in and it took no more than 5 minutes for someone to bring out my groceries. Super fast, no items were missed, and everything was good quality. I came here yesterday and Im socially awkward a woman that worked at the cash register forgot her name but she was extremely rude. She makes fun of me and even talked down on me I asked to put a few things back she said I always do this and even laughed and told the employee how I always do the same mistake they both laughed at me I got so mad I just stormed out and canceled everything I left and was in tears. Have to agree with those mentioning how cramped it is in this store. The aisles and ends of aisles have way too much "stuff" (displays, unpacked metch, etc). I go eeearly in the morning (around 6:30am Sundays) so not too many people around (besides people stocking shelves, which can also post their own "get out of the way" problem) but I can only imagine how tough it is to navigate here during busy hours. It's the closest grocery store to me and I've been coming here for years but getting pretty over it. Considering switching to Stater Bro's in Tustin like other commenters have said as well. read more

I was like this location yesterday self check out the employees extremely rude and nasty and disgusting. She spent almost 30 minutes. Maybe an hour helping a man everyone in the lines were frustrated. One girl even started screaming. Krispy Kreme (Nasdaq: DNUT) at Ralph's is a big deal. Only thing is they don't replenish the shelves quick enough so the whole thing looks empty whenever I stop by and pick up groceries several times a week. Also a note to Krispy Kreme, you might want to come up with sugar free donuts - with the abundance of sugar-free replacements containing Erythritol like Swerve and Monkfruit (I use both at home), which look and taste like real sugar yet have zero glycemic and Keto friendly, there's no reason why Krispy Kreme can't come up with 32 flavors of sugar free donuts for prediabetics and diabetics. Good job carrying these donuts RALPHS. I'll wait and see if Krispy Kreme hears me out. I know I'll be buying and handing out the new "sugar-free donuts" once it's around to friends and family every week. read more

Ralph's is already such a bum ass grocery store but this one is the worst of them all. Unfortunately it is also the closest to me, and although I like to avoid it most of the time, sometimes you just need something quick. QUESTION: Why is it every time I come here, one of the VERY few things I need is out of stock--or worse, like the basil I needed tonight for my wife's VERY DELICIOUS SPAGHETTI, not just EXPIRED by TWO DAYS (!!!), but GRAY and MOLDY. Who's running this place? Step down man. This is not your calling. Ralph would be disappointed to see his creation fall off this hard... SAD! read more

This is our local market. I love that they don't move items around the store. Always in the same place. We know most of the long time staff and they know us. Friendly bunch. Clean and inviting atmosphere. Food quality is always top notch except sometimes the produce isn't the best, but that's on the providers, not the store. read more

I went into this Ralphs after avoiding it for 8 months or so. Nothing has changed. Matter of fact, things have gotten worse. There is more and more clutter on the floor. Impossible for 2 carts to pass simultaneously in the Meat/Milk department. The check out area is just as bad. Only enough space for a few customers waiting with carts for cashiers and then movement stops. With all the merchandise caps EVERYWHERE and a few customers, a complete standstill. Hard to believe the store manager doesn't see this as he walks the store..... Once you get to a cashier the fun really begins. Most of the cashiers don't like their jobs or don't like working. I have never had one smile at me or greet me "Good Morning". They don't make eye contact with you and if you dare ask them a question, they will just mumble or grunt something inaudible. I like this Ralph's, even though it's a smaller store. The aisles can sometimes be a bit crowded with all of the side-stacks, which is annoying. The staff is friendly but on the particular visit I had a problem. I purchased two jugs of tea which stated they were 2 for $6. At checkout they did not ring properly and I had to go back to take a picture of the tag on the shelf. The problem ended up being they put the tag in front of the wrong item. They didn't offer me anything for the mistake they made. read more

Three strikes and you're out. Strike #1, online order and getting Coke instead of Coke Zero. Annoying in the fact that I said no substitutions and if I drink regular Coke it better damned well have cane sugar in it! (aka Mexican Coke) Strike #2. Separate order and they gave me multiple items I said no substitutions on, got confirmation online AND the paper receipt they gave to me. Still included those items and got charged for it. Strike #3. Bought some untrimmed tri tip on sale. Awesomeness! Guess what? Not. Trimmed. Nice huge fat cap that probably is 20% of the weight. All these little things are equating to abandoning shopping here. I have to come to this Ralph's to get their hot foods. The fried chicken tenders taste great and are quite juicy. They don't use a lot of breading like Albertsons does. At some Ralph's locations you can find two types of mac & cheese. For this location they have a white Parmesan mac & cheese that is very delicious. You can purchase by the box or per weight. There a potato wedges are also quite delicious. Their foods are made fresh daily and they do not make a large batch and let us sit there. I like how they make new batches quite frequently so you can always guaranteed to have fresh tasting hot foods. The only drawback about coming to this location is that it is always crowded anytime of the day. Even though they install self check out stations there are still long lines to purchase your foods and groceries. If you need to find a specific item there are plenty of Ralph employees around that can assist you. Overall the store as well stocked and staff is friendly. There's even a Starbucks inside this Ralph's location. read more

The store felt cramped like you could barely get by people when both have a cart. They have baskets and displays on every corner making navigation difficult. They have a lot of products and a large selection and they are located in an easy to access area. This is a new review for the Ralphs bakery. I recently ordered 3 doz cupcakes with a patriotic theme for my military volunteer group. 3 white, 3 chocolate & 3 red velvet. Prior to this, I went to another bakery to order the same but they had not clue what I was talking about! They also couldn't supply red velvet. Why "patriotic" and/or red/white/blue America theme didn't make sense to them is beyond acceptable to me. But not at Ralphs!! Aneth took my order and knew exactly what I wanted. They also accommodated me with red velvet. But the best part? Aneth and her crew exceeded my expectations! check out the photo I posted. I get more tired of this place every time I'm there. The carts are in shambles, there's no customer service desk, the parking lot is a mess, and they close one of their doors fairly early in the night, making parking even more annoying. Most importantly, the manager who was on duty at 1:30 pm, July 8 2024 is a knob. They just want the customers to give them money and get out. Today, I was returning cat food that gave my cat food poisoning and made him vomit for 24 hours. I had the receipt on the Ralph's app on my phone. The cashier was about to refund my card when the manager told her not to do that and just walked away. I asked why. She just said "You can talk to him. He's over there," as he hurried away. She said I can only have store credit, which is fine, but I would have liked an explanation. The manager walked by again while she was giving me the gift card, and she mumbled to him that I was wondering why they won't credit my card. He wouldn't even look at me, just mumbled "no receipt, no credit" and got out of there as fast as possible. I'm not a panhandler... I'm a customer. I wish I had told the cashier I'll wait for the manager to come back and treat me with some decency... maybe make eye contact with me at least. Again, I was fine with store credit. I would have just liked the manager to speak to me with some amount of respect. I don't think he even understood that I did have a receipt; it was on the Ralph's app. Give the manager's job to the guy who was bagging. At least he seemed to care that they sold me food that made my cat sick and was willing to speak more than four words to me. read more

ZERO STARS due to TERRIBLE customer service here! You will be treated like a second class citizen here. I encountered Christopher at the Self Check out Lane and Addie (the manager on duty) and they were so rude and unprofessional. The worst of all was that it was on Christmas Eve. I came into the store to buy some last minute items we needed for a Christmas Charity Fundraiser party. The store was about to close (they close early on Christmas Eve) so I was rushing to check out. They physically stopped me from checking out because they said I bought too many items and "I reached the limit." I didn't even know there was a limit on the items I was purchasing! They were like "you can't buy these items, not at this price!" What?! So I can buy them but only if I pay a higher price? Makes no sense! I contemplated it for a second, being in the rush that I was, but then Christopher physically took my cart away and never even gave me that option. You should have seen and heard how condescending he was throughout the entire interaction. Wow, how rude can someone in "customer service" be? I will never come back here again. Ralphs on Harvard Ave in Irvine, you truly suck! Your managers and staff need to be retrained on professionalism and basic customer service skills. I've designated this Ralph's as my "go to" grocery store, and though I've been there plenty of times without problems, there has been twice now in the last few months where we've bought something, opened it, and the container had already been open or unsealed. I have to take responsibility for this, because I know, I should check, but at the same time, it doesn't happen a lot at other stores. They have an easy exchange process, but it's a waste of time to have to go back and forth. Otherwise, they have a good location w plenty of parking, rubios, kebab shop and a good brunch place called Poached around the corner. It is mostly clean when you come here and the staff is okay, but I'm not sure if I will continue to keep coming here for my groceries... maybe i will give them another try for curbside? Seems like they have good reviews regarding that service. read more

This is the first and last time I will be at this store. The store is stuffed with so much merchandise around the meat aisle. The price on the shelf for half and half was $2.99. At self check out the price came up at $4.99. The clerk there said that she would have someone check to price. I was not doing to wait 10 minutes for a price check. I suppose I'll need to take a picture of every item I buy there so I can show the clerk. I told her I no longer wanted to buy that item. After checkout, the machine would not take my cash. Again, I had to speak to the same clerk. She told me to bag my groceries while she checked out my order at another register. She looked so unhappy. It's a dismal place to shop. I have gotten sick before eating Ralph's rotisserie chicken so this was disturbing to hear. Im shocked at the positive reviews. Ive been coming here for 10 plus years and bow I avoid it at all costs unfortunately. The service is absolutely awful. People who hate their jobs, I take no joy in saying that. Ive seen atleast 2 of the same faces for 10 years but they act like they've never seen you before. They never have EVER have a bagger. Literally never. They never have enough staff. Always have 1 or 2 isles open while everyone else is expected to self checkout. Im not opposed to self check out by any means, but when I have 100 items and 3 screaming kids I need someone to take initiative and do their job. The shopping carts are absolutely horrendous, they dont work properly, dirty as all hell, and never have a working buckle for small children. Not sure who owns this Ralphs but please pay your employees what their worth because clearly you cant afford hard working people read more

This will be a mixed review but I'm giving it a 5 because of ALEX!! I ran in today to pick up some stamps. To begin with I noted a grumbly employee who was moving about with a cart, and a very sour disposition. Alex had to close his line due to a computer problem so the man in front of me with a good amount of groceries, gathered and moved. He saw that I had nothing in my hands and let me go first. Thank you kind sir! All the while this woman, Michelle, is still muttering beneath her breath and complaining and clearly put out just being there, and now has to get my stamps. Alex was making the best of it and being so professional and kind, while I was laughing at her in utter disbelief. Turns out she is some sort of a manager. If this is the kind of person you promote into management Ralphs, you really need to clean house, and look at what is right in front of you, ALEX! Who's the rude employee with glasses and backwards red baseball cap in the alcohol section who didn't want to help me on 12/1, 11:20pm? I asked him about locating a specific product and he merely pointed and said "over there" while walking away from me and into the backstage area. I then tried to be even more specific and his response was again to point while still walking away and repeating "over there." The whole time, he never stopped walking nor made eye contact and kept his eyes down on his phone.
